Last week, following the release of internal emails indicating a former Obama speechwriter was instrumental in perpetuating misleading talking points, House Speaker John Boehner finally agreed to implement a select committee to investigate the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi.
South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, a former prosecutor with a reputation for cutting through partisan rhetoric during questioning, has been pegged to head the special panel. Whether intimidated by his capabilities or just averse to anyone digging into the Obama administration’s alleged mishandling of the consulate attack that left four Americans dead, Gowdy’s political opponents have made him the subject of ridicule and, in some cases, threats.
As Politico reported this week, U.S. Capitol Police are currently conducting their own investigation in an attempt to find out who is behind two emails that suggest the Republican congressman will face physical injury as a result of his role in the Benghazi hearings.
According to reports, potential threats against legislators have become an even higher priority since the 2011 shooting of former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Rep. Trey Gowdy is laughing off a death threat he received after being named chairman of the House select committee on Benghazi.
Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly expressed concern about the threat when interviewing the South Carolina Republican on Wednesday, but Gowdy seemed unfazed.

“I was a prosecutor for 16 years. This is not my first death threat,” Gowdy said. “I’m always happy when it doesn’t come from my wife, and this one did not. So, I’m going to be fine, and it’s not going to keep me from doing my job.”
Gowdy also told Kelly he intends to subpoena former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during his investigation but may not have her testify at a hearing. The rules at hearings limit the time committee members can ask questions, Gowdy said, and he thinks he can get more information if he has Clinton make a deposition.
Kelly pointed out that Clinton told ABC News that she thinks all questions on Benghazi have been answered, and Kelly asked whether Clinton would be able to get out of making a deposition.
“If she can get out of a subpoena, she can get out of it,” Gowdy said. “But I don’t send invitations to cocktail parties.”
If Clinton doesn’t comply with the subpoena, she’ll suffer the same consequences as anyone else would, he said.
As to Clinton’s comment to ABC that Republicans in Congress choose not to be satisfied that the truth about the Benghazi attacks has been determined, Gowdy said, “There are three separate categories of questions, each with sub-units within them that have not been answered. I realize it’s been 20 months, but time is no barometer of thoroughness.”
Four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, died in the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya. Republicans say White House officials blamed the attack on outrage over an anti-Muslim video even though they knew it was a planned terrorist attack.
They say administration officials didn’t want to hurt the re-election chances of President Barack Obama with the vote less than two months away.

Middle East envoy Martin Indyk was overheard at an upscale Washington, D.C., bar bashing Israel and fully blaming it for the recent failure of peace talks with the Palestinians, according to an individual who overheard the conversation and described it as a surprising and “nasty” 30-minute-long tirade against the Jewish state.
Indyk—who has been identified by the Washington Free Beacon as the source of a recent series of anonymous quotes in the press condemning Israel—was caught openly lashing out at Israel over drinks with several members of his staff and wife, Gahl Burt.

The conversation took place in the hotel bar at the Ritz-Carlton on Thursday night, shortly after Indyk finished delivering remarks at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy’s (WINEP) annual gala.
While Indyk was critical of Israel in his public remarks, he and his staff are said to have let loose on the Jewish state over drinks before Indyk was scheduled to meet with former Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
“The tone was nasty,” according to the source who overheard the conversation.
Indyk and his staff “openly blamed” conservative Israeli politician Naftali Bennett and others for “sabotaging the [peace] negotiations” by issuing permits for new Israeli housing blocks in Jerusalem.
“In the 30 minute conversation, no one at the table mentioned a single wrong thing the Palestinians had done,” according to the source who overheard the conversation. “There was no self-criticism whatsoever.”

She said if a solar energy project is expected to impact thousands of acres of desert land in the state, federal rules would require a mitigation zone, where animals that may be protected or endangered could be moved from the project site.
As WND reported, the BLM has mentioned Bundy’s cattle and the grazing land he uses in connected with solar power projects.
Pirro said “Dirty Harry” had been watching federal land being transferred and used for shopping malls and other projects for years until the “armed military type agents came in like stormtroopers.”
“You need snipers to move cows, Harry? Really?” she asked.
Pirro explained a solar project proposed on nearby land by a Chinese company with links to Reid would require that mitigation area.
“The BLM actually posted documents designating the mitigation area so that the solar power project can move forward,” she reported. “Unfortunately, that designated mitigation area has cattle on it.
“Harry, in my other life, I did investigations. I presented cases to grand juries,” she said. “Oh, to be a prosecutor again. Oh, to present this to a grand jury. Oh, to put ‘Dirty Harry’ under oath on the witness stand,” she continued.

(May 3, 2014) — In her opening monologue on Saturday evening, “Justice with Judge Jeanine” anchor Jeanine Pirro called for the impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama for dereliction of duty, violation of his oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and protect the American people, and for defending Islam after four Americans were “left to die” in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012.
In an approximately 12-minute-long soliloquy, Pirro excoriated the Obama regime for misrepresenting the cause of the terrorist attack which killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other public servants after Islamic militants attacked a U.S. compound which was under-protected according to State Department standards.
Pirro reminded her audience that President William Jefferson Clinton was “impeached” for lying about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky and that President Richard M. Nixon was impeached for lying about a burglary.
Pirro’s first guest was Tom Fitton, head of Judicial Watch, which obtained incriminating emails through a lawsuit in federal court after the Obama regime refused to turn them over through a FOIA request. Fitton’s perseverance resulted in the release of dozens of emails which are being termed “the smoking gun” showing that political motivations caused the regime to blame the attack on an obscure internet video and trot out then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on five Sunday talk shows to repeat the lie to the American public.

Fox News Military Analyst Col. David Hunt appeared as a guest after Fitton and said that Obama “never gave the order” for military intervention to be staged, but Hunt said that the four Americans killed could have been saved. “We were never given the chance” to mount a rescue operation, Hunt said.
Pirro also claimed that the White House might have “altered documents” to hide the truth from the public about aspects of the Benghazi attack which could have been damaging to Obama politically.
Obama was first elected president on a platform of “hope and change.”
Writing for The New York Post, Kenneth Timmerman stated earlier on Saturday that “Benghazi is the scandal they always denied it was.“
On Friday, Speaker of the House John Boehner, who was roundly criticized by many for hesitating to approve a Select Committee to investigate the events surrounding the Benghazi attack, announced that a House vote had been held and opted to form the committee to be chaired by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC4), a former federal prosecutor known as having “taken no prisoners.”
Gowdy has stated that he has “proof” that the regime has engaged in “a systematic, intentional decision to withhold certain documents from Congress”relating to the Benghazi attack.
On Wednesday evening, former White House national security spokesman Tommy Vietor told fox News anchor Bret Baier that Obama was not present in “the Situation Rom” as video and other information came in from a circling drone overhead the Benghazi attack zone. Neither Obama nor anyone else in the regime has stated where Obama was that evening.
Last May, CDR Walter Francis Fitzpatrick, III (Ret.) declared Obama guilty of dereliction of duty, stating that the president and commander-in-chief is expected to “be on watch” at all times, regardless of the circumstances. On March 17, 2009, Fitzpatrick accused Obama of treason in a formal criminal complaint to the FBI, U.S. attorney for his district, and with the U.S. District Court in Washington, DC, none of whom took action. “We’ve been talking about treason for a long time,” Fitzpatrick said in last year’s report.
A researcher interviewed by The Post & Email last month has reported that evidence she has gathered shows that Obama was likely in the White House, as Vietor contended, but attending a fundraiser in the West Wing.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz told Pirro that he believes that there are “different redactions” between documents shown to Congress and provided to Judicial Watch as a result of its lawsuit.
Chaffetz stated that Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has subpoenaed Secretary of State John Kerry for the original documents in question.
Pirro suggested that “a real prosecutor” should be procured who will not allow officials to “dance” under questioning.
Regarding altered documents, the long-form birth certificate posted on the White House website was declared a “computer-generated forgery” more than two years ago, but the media failed to investigate or report it over the airwaves. The Maricopa County Cold Case Posse has been attempting to convince Congress to open its own investigation, but to the public’s knowledge, it has not been done.
For the last five years, anyone questioning Obama’s legitimacy, allegiance, life narrative, birthplace, missing documentation or truthfulness was labeled “racist,” “birther,” “seditionist,” or “traitor,” among other things. Researchers and journalists investigating the questions surrounding Obama’s background have been threatened, harassed, had their websites and emails hacked, and received threats to their careers and, in some cases, their lives.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has discovered that at least several Obama paid operatives are employed at DARPA, a division of the Department of Defense. Arpaio is expected to give a press conference in the near future to release “universe-shattering” information.
Mike Volin of WheresObamasBirthCertificate.com has reported that several congressmen are “on board” with the concept of publicizing the birth certificate forgery and that of Obama’s purported Selective Service registration form which the posse also analyzed and declared fraudulent.
Some are still defending the Obama regime’s response to the Benghazi attack by stating that Ben Rhodes’ email simply affirmed the CIA’s stated “talking points” about how the attack occurred.
At 10:10 p.m., following Pirro’s broadcast, The Post & Email sent the following tweet to Pirro:

Amidst new revelations concerning emails that show the Obama administration conspired to create a phony narrative around the Benghazi attacks, the true purpose behind the cover-up is being obfuscated – the fact that an annex near the U.S. embassy was being used by the CIA to transfer surface to air missiles to terrorists in Syria.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa today issued a subpoena for Secretary of State John Kerry to testify before the committee on May 21 about Benghazi following the release of emails by Judicial Watch which show that the White House crafted a deceptive policy to falsely frame the attack as a spontaneous protest sparked by a YouTube video in order to protect Barack Obama’s image.
Lost in the haze of claims and counter claims is the real reason why the White House is desperate to prevent the attack from coming under any further scrutiny – because it would likely reveal an arms smuggling scandal that could rival Iran-Contra.
In May last year, Senator Rand Paul was one of the first to speculate that the truth behind Benghazi was linked to an illicit arms smuggling program that saw weapons being trafficked to terrorists in Syria as part of the United States’ proxy war against the Assad regime.
“I’ve actually always suspected that, although I have no evidence, that maybe we were facilitating arms leaving Libya going through Turkey into Syria,” Paul told CNN, adding that he “never….quite understood the cover-up — if it was intentional or incompetence”.
At the same time it emerged that the U.S. State Department had hired an Al-Qaeda offshoot organization, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade, to “defend” the Benghazi Mission months before the attack.
Senator Paul was vindicated less than three months later when it emerged that the CIA had been subjecting its operatives to monthly polygraph tests in an effort to keep a lid on details of the arms smuggling operation being leaked.
On August 1, CNN reported that dozens of CIA agents were on the ground in Benghazi during the attack and that the polygraph tests were mandated in order to prevent operatives from talking to Congress or the media about a program that revolved around “secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.”
Although the Obama administration is now openly arming the Syrian rebels, it has been keen to stress that such weaponry has been restricted to so-called “moderate” fighters, despite the fact that it is now widely acknowledged that Al-Qaeda is by far the most potent fighting force in Syria and indeed commands all the other militant groups.
The real truth behind Benghazi is likely to reveal that the Obama administration knowingly and deliberately provided surface to air missiles and other weapons to the most bloodthirsty Al-Qaeda jihadists in Syria who are now busy crucifying Christians while promising to bring their reign of terror to the west.
If a proper investigation into the Benghazi attacks uncovered concrete evidence of this arms smuggling scandal, Obama would face impeachment and many members of his administration would be facing long stretches in prison.
That’s the real reason why the White House is desperate to bury Benghazi.

For the past 5 years, US occupying president Barack Hussein Obama has done a political tap dance on par with anything that Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did on the ballroom floor in their primes. Obama has nearly single-handedly coddled, cajoled and maneuvered world leaders and situations to allow Iran all the time and space they needed to bring nuclear reactors online and create the bomb(s) that will be fired at Israel.
Critical mass has been achieved with today’s announcement from US Director of National Intelligence James Clapper that Iran can now build the bombs that Hillary, Obama and others promised would never be built.
TOI: Iran now has all the technical infrastructure to produce nuclear weapons should it make the political decision to do, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper wrote in a report to a Senate intelligence committee published Wednesday. However, he added, it could not break out to the bomb without being detected.
In the “US Intelligence Worldwide Threat Assessment,” delivered to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Clapper reported that Tehran has made significant advances recently in its nuclear program to the point where it could produce and deliver nuclear bombs should it be so inclined.

“Tehran has made technical progress in a number of areas — including uranium enrichment, nuclear reactors, and ballistic missiles — from which it could draw if it decided to build missile-deliverable nuclear weapons,” Clapper wrote. “These technical advancements strengthen our assessment that Iran has the scientific, technical, and industrial capacity to eventually produce nuclear weapons. This makes the central issue its political will to do so.”
In the past year alone, the report states, Iran has enhanced its centrifuge designs, increased the number of centrifuges, and amassed a larger quantity of low-enriched uranium hexafluoride. These advancements have placed Iran in a better position to produce weapons-grade uranium!!

'I will veto' new legislation against Iran, Obama tells Congress
WASHINGTON - US President Barack Hussein Obama entered Congress on Tuesday night and defended his diplomatic strategy with Iran, threatening to veto legislation introduced in the Senate last month that could torpedo international negotiations over its nuclear program.
"Let me be clear," Obama said: "If this Congress sends me a new sanctions bill now that threatens to derail these talks, I will veto it."
The speech marked the first time Obama personally threatened to veto sanctions legislation against Iran. Senior White House aides have issued similar veto threats since the end of December, when Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Robert Menendez, a Democrat, introduced the Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act of 2013.
The bill— which would trigger new sanctions tools against Iran should negotiations fail to reach a comprehensive agreement in twelve months time— has since garnered 59 public cosponsors in the upper chamber across party lines. The bill also has the aggressive backing of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the largest pro-Israel lobby in Washington.
"For the sake of our national security," Obama said Tuesday night, in his State of the Union address, "we must give diplomacy a chance to succeed."
The president noted in his speech that negotiations toward a treaty over Iran's nuclear program, now a decade old, would be difficult and "may not succeed." In prior remarks, Obama has put the odds of success in negotiations with Iran at less than 50 percent.
"If Iran’s leaders do not seize this opportunity, then I will be the first to call for more sanctions, and stand ready to exercise all options to make sure Iran does not build a nuclear weapon," Obama continued. "But if Iran’s leaders do seize the chance, then Iran could take an important step to rejoin the community of nations, and we will have resolved one of the leading security challenges of our time without the risks of war."
Responding to the president's charge, Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), who co-authored the hanging sanctions bill, said that nevertheless "the Senate should act" on the bill.
"The American people – Democrats and Republicans alike – overwhelmingly want Iran held accountable during any negotiations," Kirk said in a statement. Polls show that while most Americans don't prioritize foreign policy matters, they view Iran with deep Distrust, and Support more Sanctions over less.
"While the president promises to veto any new Iran sanctions legislation, the Iranians have already vetoed any dismantlement of their nuclear infrastructure," Kirk added, calling his bill an "insurance policy" for Congress.
"I don't think its a good idea to pass sanctions while we're in the midst of negotiations," Rand Paul (R-KY), said on CNN on Tuesday after the speech. Paul, a libertarian in the Republican Party, is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
James Jeffrey, a former senior American diplomat and an expert at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, said that the president was "careful not to oversell the Iran negotiations" in his Tuesday address, outlining the interim deal in factual terms and underlining the delicacy of the talks.
"Linked with his strong affirmation to Israel's security, the president stayed within the bounds of the national consensus on this most important of diplomatic initiatives," Jeffrey said. "His repeated stress on ending America's wars, however, left still unclear how enthusiastic he would be about using all options including force against a recalcitrant Iran."
The president also made brief note of US Secretary of State John Kerry's efforts to forge peace between Israel and the Palestinians to "end the conflict there; to achieve dignity and an independent state for Palestinians, and lasting peace and security for the State of Israel."
He referred to Israel as the "Jewish state," in a subtle but notable reference to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's condition in peace talks to have a future Palestinian state recognize Israel as the Jewish homeland.
Delivering his fifth State of the Union address to Congress and the nation— the speech is the largest televised address given by an American president every year— Obama's remarks echoed speeches from years past, utilizing similar language on Iran as he has used throughout his presidency.
"The international community is more united and the Islamic Republic of Iran is more isolated," Obama said in his State of the Union address in 2010. "And as Iran's leaders continue to ignore their obligations, there should be no doubt: They, too, will face growing consequences. That is a promise."
Over the past ten years, Iran has grown its nuclear program with virtually no effective impediment, and is now in possession of enough enriched uranium to produce 5-6 nuclear warheads within months should it choose to proceed. In 2003, Iran had 163 operating centrifuges to enrich uranium; it now has over 20,000, some 4-5 times more efficient than their older models, as well as the infrastructure for a heavy-water plutonium plant that provides them with a second path to the bomb.
Countries allied against the program, citing national security and strategic interests, have sought to sanction Iran's leaders and its key industries both as punishment for its actions past as well as negative reinforcement, hoping that the specter of economic collapse will force Iran's leaders to capitulate.
Congress and the president passed a particularly harsh package of financial penalties in 2011, when the president, in that year's State of the Union address, said that "because of a diplomatic effort to insist that Iran meet its obligations, the Iranian government now faces tougher and tighter sanctions than ever before."
Iranian crude oil exports dropped over 60 percent after new sanctions took effect in January 2012, and a June 2013 presidential poll in Iran resulted in the election of Hassan Rouhani, who campaigned on improving relations with the West for sanctions relief. He has since opened diplomatic corridors with the US and its allies.
"The leaders of Iran must recognize that now is the time for a diplomatic solution, because a coalition stands united in demanding that they meet their obligations, and we will do what is necessary to prevent them from getting a nuclear weapon," Obama said in his 2013 address.
After months of negotiating in secret, and two months of public talks in Geneva, an interim deal was reached between Iran and world powers that gives the parties six months to negotiate, and six months more should all parties agree that an extension would be fruitful.
The agreement, reached in November between the Islamic Republic and the P5+1— the US, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany— temporarily freezes Iran's enrichment of uranium above 5 percent, and its production of a heavy-water plutonium plant in Arak, for $6-7 billion in sanctions relief doled out in increments over the next six months.
"It is American diplomacy, backed by pressure, that has halted the progress of Iran’s nuclear program – and rolled parts of that program back – for the very first time in a decade," Obama said on Tuesday night. "As we gather here tonight, Iran has begun to eliminate its stockpile of higher levels of enriched uranium. It is not installing advanced centrifuges. Unprecedented inspections help the world verify, every day, that Iran is not building a bomb."

O’ Keefe says they’re on a witch hunt again like the meeting scheduled with O’Keefe and the Department of Labor on December 13, 2013. O’keefe was there but the NY Department of Labor was a “no show.”
Obama on the attack again in a recent interview unable to assume responsibility for the position he holds as Commander in Chief. The New York Times just delivered a mortal blow to the Obama administration and its Middle East policy.
Call it fratricide. It was clearly unintentional.
Indeed, is far from clear that the paper realizes what it has done.
Last Saturday the Times published an 8,000-word account by David Kirkpatrick detailing the terrorist strike against the US Consulate and the CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. In it, Kirkpatrick tore to shreds the foundations of President Barack Obama’s counterterrorism strategy and his overall policy in the Middle East.
Obama first enunciated those foundations in his June 4, 2009, speech to the Muslim world at Cairo University. Ever since, they have been the rationale behind US counterterror strategy and US Middle East policy.
Obama’s first assertion is that radical Islam is not inherently hostile to the US. As a consequence, America can appease radical Islamists. Moreover, once radical Muslims are appeased, they will become US allies, (replacing the allies the US abandons to appease the radical Muslims).
Obama’s second strategic guidepost is his claim that the only Islamic group that is a bona fide terrorist organization is the faction of al-Qaida directly subordinate to Osama bin Laden’s successor, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Only this group cannot be appeased and must be destroyed through force.
The administration has dubbed the Zawahiri faction of al-Qaida “core al-Qaida.” And anyone who operates in the name of al-Qaida, or any other group that does not have courtroom-certified operational links to Zawahiri, is not really al-Qaida, and therefore, not really a terrorist group or a US enemy.
These foundations have led the US to negotiate with the Taliban in Afghanistan. They are the rationale for the US’s embrace of the Muslim Brotherhood worldwide. They are the basis for Obama’s allegiance to Turkey’s Islamist government, and his early support for the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated Syrian opposition.
They are the basis for the administration’s kneejerk support for the PLO against Israel.
Obama’s insistent bid to appease Iran, and so enable the mullocracy to complete its nuclear weapons program. is similarly a product of his strategic assumptions. So, too, the US’s current diplomatic engagement of Hezbollah in Lebanon owes to the administration’s conviction that any terror group not directly connected to Zawahiri is a potential US ally.
From the outset of the 2011 revolt against the regime of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, it was clear that a significant part of the opposition was composed of jihadists aligned if not affiliated with al-Qaida. Benghazi was specifically identified by documents seized by US forces in Iraq as a hotbed of al-Qaida recruitment.
Obama and his advisers dismissed and ignored the evidence. The core of al-Qaida, they claimed, was not involved in the anti-Gaddafi revolt. And to the extent jihadists were fighting Gaddafi, they were doing so as allies of the US.
In other words, the two core foundations of Obama’s understanding of terrorism and of the Muslim world were central to US support for the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi.
With Kirkpatrick’s report, the Times exposed the utter falsity of both.
Kirkpatrick showed the mindset of the US-supported rebels and through it, the ridiculousness of the administration’s belief that you can’t be a terrorist if you aren’t directly subordinate to Zawahiri.
One US-supported Islamist militia commander recalled to him that at the outset of the anti-Gaddafi rebellion, “Teenagers came running around… [asking] ‘Sheikh, sheikh, did you know al-Qaida? Did you know Osama bin Laden? How do we fight?” In the days and weeks following the September 11, 2012, attack on the US installations in Benghazi in which US ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and four other Americans were killed, the administration claimed that the attacks were not carried out by terrorists. Rather they were the unfortunate consequence of a spontaneous protest by otherwise innocent Libyans.
According to the administration’s version of events, these guileless, otherwise friendly demonstrators, who killed the US ambassador and four other Americans, were simply angered by a You- Tube video of a movie trailer which jihadist clerics in Egypt had proclaimed was blasphemous.
In an attempt to appease the mob after the fact, Obama and then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton were filmed in commercials run on Pakistani television apologizing for the video and siding with the mob against the movie-maker, who is the only person the US has imprisoned following the attack. Then-ambassador to the UN and current National Security Adviser Susan Rice gave multiple television interviews placing the blame for the attacks on the video.
According to Kirkpatrick’s account of the assault against the US installations in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, the administration’s description of the assaults was a fabrication. Far from spontaneous political protests spurred by rage at a YouTube video, the attack was premeditated. US officials spotted Libyans conducting surveillance of the consulate nearly 15 hours before the attack began.
Libyan militia warned US officials “of rising threats against Americans from extremists in Benghazi,” two days before the attack.
From his account, the initial attack – in which the consulate was first stormed – was carried out not by a mob, but by a few dozen fighters. They were armed with assault rifles. They acted in a coordinated, professional manner with apparent awareness of US security procedures.
During the initial assault, the attackers shot down the lights around the compound, stormed the gates, and swarmed around the security personnel who ran to get their weapons, making it impossible for them to defend the ambassador and other personnel trapped inside.
According to Kirkpatrick, after the initial attack, the organizers spurred popular rage and incited a mob assault on the consulate by spreading the rumor that the Americans had killed a local. Others members of the secondary mob, Kirkpatrick claimed, were motivated by reports of the video.
This mob assault, which followed the initial attack and apparent takeover of the consulate, was part of the predetermined plan. The organizers wanted to produce chaos. As Kirkpatrick explained, “The attackers had posted sentries at Venezia Road, adjacent to the [consulate] compound, to guard their rear flank, but they let pass anyone trying to join the mayhem.”
According to Kirkpatrick, the attack was perpetrated by local terrorist groups that were part of the US-backed anti-Gaddafi coalition. The people who were conducting the surveillance of the consulate 15 hours before the attack were uniformed security forces who escaped in an official car.
Members of the militia tasked with defending the compound participated in the attack.
Ambassador Stevens, who had served as the administration’s emissary to the rebels during the insurrection against Gaddafi, knew personally many of the terrorists who orchestrated the attack.
And until the very end, he was taken in by the administration’s core belief that it was possible to appease al-Qaida-sympathizing Islamic jihadists who were not directly affiliated with Zawahiri.
As Kirkpatrick noted, Stevens “helped shape the Obama administration’s conviction that it could work with the rebels, even those previously hostile to the West, to build a friendly, democratic government.”
The entire US view that local militias, regardless of their anti-American, jihadist ideologies, could become US allies was predicated not merely on the belief that they could be appeased, but that they weren’t terrorists because they weren’t al-Qaida proper.
As Kirkpatrick notes, “American intelligence efforts in Libya concentrated on the agendas of the biggest militia leaders and the handful of Libyans with suspected ties to al-Qaida. The fixation on al-Qaida might have distracted experts from more imminent threats.”
But again, the only reason that the intelligence failed to notice the threats emanating from local US-supported terrorists is because the US counterterrorist strategy, like its overall Middle East strategy, is to seek to appease all US enemies other than the parts of al-Qaida directly commanded by Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Distressingly, most of the discussion spurred by Kirkpatrick’s article has ignored the devastating blow he visited on the intellectual foundations of Obama’s foreign policy. Instead, the discussion has focused on his claim that there is “no evidence that al-Qaida or other international terrorist group had any role in the assault,” and on his assertion that the YouTube video did spur to action some of the participants in the assault.
Kirkpatrick’s claim that al-Qaida played no role in the attack was refuted by the Times’ own reporting six weeks after the attack. It has also been refuted by congressional and State Department investigations, by the UN and by a raft of other reporting.
His claim that the YouTube video did spur some of the attackers to action was categorically rejected last spring in sworn congressional testimony by then-deputy chief of the US mission to Libya Gregory Hicks.
Last May Hicks stated, “The YouTube video was a non-event in Libya. The video was not instigative of anything that was going on in Libya. We saw no demonstrators related to the video anywhere in Libya.”
Kirkpatrick’s larger message – that the reasoning behind Obama’s entire counterterrorist strategy and his overall Middle East policy is totally wrong, and deeply destructive – has been missed because his article was written and published to whitewash the administration’s deliberate mischaracterization of the events in Benghazi, not to discredit the rationale behind its Middle East policy and counterterrorism strategy. This is why he claimed that al-Qaida wasn’t involved in the attack. And this is why he claimed that the YouTube video was a cause for the attack.
This much was made clear in a blog post by editorial page editor Andrew Rosenthal, who alleged that the entire discourse on Benghazi is promoted by the Republicans to harm the Democrats, and Kirkpatrick’s story served to weaken the Republican arguments. In Rosenthal’s words, “The Republicans hope to tarnish Democratic candidates by making it seem as though Mr. Obama doesn’t take al-Qaida seriously.”
So pathetically, in a bid to defend Obama and Clinton and the rest of the Democrats, the Times published a report that showed that Obama’s laser-like focus on the Zawahiri-controlled faction of al-Qaida has endangered the US.
By failing to view as enemies any other terror groups – even if they have participated in attacks against the US – and indeed, in perceiving them as potential allies, Obama has failed to defend against them. Indeed, by wooing them as future allies, Obama has empowered forces as committed as al-Qaida to defeating the US.
Again, it is not at all apparent that the Times realized what it was doing. But from Israel to Egypt, to Iran to Libya to Lebanon, it is absolutely clear that Obama and his colleagues continue to implement the same dangerous, destructive agenda that defeated the US in Benghazi and will continue to cause US defeat after US defeat.

In the letter to Boehner, which was delivered on early Monday afternoon and provided exclusively to Breitbart News, Sean Smith’s mother, Pat Smith, and uncle, Michael Ingmire, along with Tyrone Woods’ father, Charles Woods, joined the call for a select committee to investigate the Benghazi scandal. Other notable signers include former Rep. Allen West (R-FL), conservative leader Ginni Thomas of Liberty Consulting, Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, retired Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, Freedom Center president David Horowitz, and scores of other military and conservative movement leaders.
“We write to express our grave concern over the failure of your House of Representatives to extract the truth from the Obama administration concerning the attack on our diplomatic and intelligence facilities in Benghazi, Libya; and, the brutal deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, and security officers Ty Woods and Glen Doherty,” the coalition wrote to Boehner.
Specifically, a House select committee on Benghazi would be similar to the Watergate select committee formed in the U.S. Senate during the scandal that took down President Richard Nixon. It would be a focused committee with members from both the Democrat and Republican parties and staffed with the proper resources to conduct a thorough investigation of the matter. Thus far, Boehner has had five separate House committees investigating the matter that have not succeeded. He has also publicly opposed the creation of a select committee, saying he does not think it is necessary.
There is currently a bill in the House of Representatives, H. Res 36 from Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), that would create such a committee. It has, including Wolf, 179 cosponsors according to the Library of Congress, well more than the majority of the House GOP majority—which is 232 Republican members strong. Yet, despite the overwhelming support from the House GOP conference, Boehner continues to refuse to allow a vote on the installation of a select committee to investigate the Benghazi scandal and continues to block efforts to bring the bill forward.
Now that this new coalition is stepping forward, Boehner may end up facing enough pressure to force him to create the committee.

Israel's foreign minister said Wednesday that it was time for his country to look beyond
the U.S. as its principal ally, the Jerusalem Post reports. Foreign minister Avigdor
Liberman said that the U.S. was too distracted with other problems. However, with talks
resuming in Geneva toward a nuclear deal with Iran that Israel fears is too weak,
Liberman's statement reflects disappointment in President Obama's policies.
"For many years Israel's foreign policy was one directional towards Washington, but my
policy has many more directions," Liberman said, according to the Post. Prior to the
Six-Day War in 1967, the U.S. was an important ally but France was Israel's main source
of diplomatic and military support in the West. Israel has occasionally reached out
independently to China and Russia in the past, sometimes irritating the U.S. administration.

“At the end of a week when the Obama administration signaled its intention to send heavy weaponry to Al-Qaeda-led Syrian rebels, Israel launched air strikes inside Syrian territory that will only serve to embolden jihadist militants who have openly espoused their desire to destroy both Israel and the United States.
Israeli rockets bombarded areas on the outskirts of Damascus early this morning in an apparent raid on Iranian missiles bound for Lebanon’s Hezbollah. This followed a separate Israeli attack a few days previously, making it three Israeli assaults on Syria so far this year.
Syria’s Information Minister Omran Zoabi responded by warning that the attacks “open the door to all possibilities,” although it is not expected that Bashar Al-Assad will order any military response. Just as it has been demonized for the last two years for responding to an insurgent insurrection, any attempt by Syria to defend itself would provide the US and Israel with the green light to launch a full scale military assault.
Imagine if Syrian warplanes fired rockets into Tel Aviv destroying Israeli military facilities. Israel would instantly treat such a move as a declaration of war and the United States would hop on board to completely raze Syrian cities to the ground within days. Yet Israel bombards Syria over the course of two days and Syria is expected to sit back and do nothing.
Israel has taken the opportunity to attack Syria safe in the knowledge that Damascus’ commitment to fighting FSA insurgents means they won’t be able to retaliate, illustrating once again the symbiotic relationship between Israel and Al-Qaeda terrorists.
“The new Israeli attack is an attempt to raise the morale of the terrorist groups which have been reeling from strikes by our noble army,” said Syrian TV in response to the attack, adding that the assault was “coordinated with terrorists.”
By launching attacks that weaken and distract Damascus from its focus on defeating western-backed insurgents, Israel is aiding the very same rebels who have burned Israeli flags in public and vowed to crush the Zionist regime once they are finished toppling Bashar Al-Assad.
Israel’s attack on Syria again highlights the fact that Al-Qaeda is an organization under the control of the United States and Israel which is used to destabilize Israel’s enemies in the region. Not only has Israel supported Al-Qaeda-led rebels in Syria, even setting up field hospitals for injured fighters, but back in 2002 Israel was caught actually creating an Al-Qaeda group in order to justify attacks on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
As we have exhaustively documented, opposition fighters in Syria are now dominated by sectarian extremists and jihadists who have repeatedly emphasized their hatred for America and their allegiance to Al-Qaeda.
Multiple reports now confirm that the individuals responsible for a plethora of atrocities, many of them part of the Al-Qaeda group Jabhat al-Nusra which “killed numerous American troops in Iraq,” are leading western-backed rebel forces in Syria. After the organization was declared a terrorist group by the US State Department, 29 different US-backed Syrian opposition groups pledged their allegiance to al-Nusra.
The timing of the Israeli attacks also speaks volumes given that the Syrian Army has begun to win the war against the Free Syrian Army, taking back key areas of cities such as Homs in recent weeks.
Israel and the United States will stop at nothing to eliminate so-called rogue states like Syria and Iran, to the point of aiding and arming radical jihadists that claim to be in opposition to Israel, yet who routinely help Israel accomplish its hegemonic agenda in the middle east.”

There is no better testimony that the situation in Syria has deteriorated into a full war than the fogginess accompanying reports from there. “Yesterday, May 3, 2013, unclear targets were hit by unknown forces; but maybe it happened the night before.” This is the only possible conclusion if integrating all what was claimed by mainstream media.
CNN quoted unnamed US officials as saying that Israel had most likely conducted the strike “in the Thursday-Friday time frame” and that Israel’s warplanes did not enter Syrian airspace; they did not believe that Israel targeted a chemical weapons facility. CBS News cited US sources claiming that Israel had targeted a warehouse. On Saturday, an Israeli official told AP that Israel had targeted a shipment of advanced missiles. Bashar Ja’afari, the Syrian ambassador to the United Nations told Reuters: “I’m not aware of any attack right now.” Yet, later, Syrian sources acknowledged the damage but denied the airstrike. NBC reported that a shipment of weapons headed for Hezbollah in Lebanon had been the target. Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, Adnan Mansou, claimed that IAF jets attacked targets in Syria from Lebanese airspace. Other reports were no less confusing.

The entire world had joined forces to spoil this article. How could I extract anything of value from this mess?
Determined not to let the fog of war foil my plans, I got a fan and cleared the area from itspoisonous clouds. The next step was to search Hebrew articles attempting to circumvent Israel’s strict censorship laws. Israeli news outlets often circumvent the censor by reporting stories “as quoted from foreign news sources,” which are not subject to the restrictions of the Israeli military censor (Israel Military Censor hits the USA). Such a report could still be an Israeli Government manipulation inwards, towards its own population, but it could provide useful hints.
Thanks to the fan I had the wind on my back. Minutes later I found what I was looking for in Yedioth Ahronot, the largest paid Hebrew newspaper. The reporter was a well known one, Tzvi Barel. Better even, the article hadn’t been translated yet to the English edition. It started with a thorough description of the targets hit. Only somebody watching the entire theatre from above and the perpetrator could know all these details. Yet, the article sited “sources with the Syrian rebels.” Syrian rebels do not have satellites. Bingo.

The Israeli newspaper claimed to have retrieved the data from a Syrian rebels website (but it didn’t provide the address; nasty!). It said that the rebels claimed to have received the data from a source within the Syrian Transport Ministry. According to this source, Israel conducted an airstrike on Damascus Airport. The targets hit were a jet-fuel depot, Syrian Army munition warehouses, military airstrips, and a civilian cargo airplane that had arrived from Iran. Overall, five targets were hit directly and exactly. Four of them were adjacent, the Iranian plane was about one kilometer from the others. Thus, this was unlikely to have been a mortars’ attack by the rebels as claimed by Syrian officials.
This solves the puzzle, if assuming that the Iranian plane contained weapons for the Hezbollah in Lebanon, and that the Israeli Air Force had fired long range missiles from Lebanon into Syria. Under these constrains, most of the reports were accurate. Simply each one provided a different angle of the event. Moreover, it strengthens recent events showing a sharp change of Israel’s policy toward Syria.
Moreover, veteran readers of this website may have right now a déjà vu moment. On January 29, 2013, the Israeli Air Force attacked a Syrian convoy in Jamraya, between Damascus and Lebanon (Assad’s Best Friend Attacks Syria), an event that was accompanied by a fogginess similar to the current one. For many years, the Syrian-Israeli border has been Israel’s quietest border. As analyzed in the article linked in this paragraph, that the leaders of both countries were silently cooperating between them. Syria and Israel had been fruitfully collaborating for a generation. This is a basic characteristic of many situations studied by Game Theory. In small enough groups, let’s say oligarchies<img src=”http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=roto-20&l=ur2&o=1” alt=”” width=”1” height=”1” border=”0” />, opposing subgroups can collaborate fruitfully without having direct contact. Since they have shared interests—in this case control over their respective civilian populations—they benefit from similar strategies, like the portrayal of each other as an archenemy while behaving like friends. While the ignorant masses applaud ultra-nationalistic discourses, deals are silently agreed; basic Game Theory.
Yet, now this has changed. Israel is attacking Syria in a variety of Ways. Recently it was reported a possible supply of weapons to the rebels by Croatia, to which Israel was an extorting party. Moreover, Israel opened a path linking the Mediterranean Sea with the Jordan/Syrian/Iraqi triple border. The Croatian weapons were handed to the rebels from Jordan. Moreover, there were the two abovementioned Israeli airstrikes on Syria and many unprecedented exchanges of firebetween Israelis and Syrians on the Golan Heights. That was enough to prove the point. Yet, the astonishing news were at the bottom of the Hebrew article.
“A question must be asked,” says the article and continues, “Could Israel, or maybe it would be asked to, expand its airstrikes in Syria under the disguise of blocking weapon convoys to Hezbollah and other organizations and as an aerial umbrella designed to protect the rebels? This could be a comfortable solution to the USA, Turkey and Arab countries that are not ready to get involved directly without wide international support. Israel will create a new routine in which Syria will be a legitimate area for its air force strikes as Lebanon is.”
A few days ago there were false rumors that the Syrian Government had used chemical weapons and Israel sent the USA to war (Israel Intelligence Directorate Sends America to War). The plot failed, and now Israel is planning to drop its American bombs surplus on Syria. The fog is gone.”

“Last month, Frontpagemag.com courageously and despite all the media hype was one of the first to publish our detailed findings from Arabic sources which demonstrated that it was the Syrian Islamist rebels and not the Syrian regime who used chemical weapons.
While our findings went against the tide and few believed them, the major media trumpeted the sounds of war claiming that it was the Syrian regime that used chemical weapons against innocent civilians. Now, our conclusions have been confirmed; Reuters has shed doubt on the common belief and just reported that:
“U.N. human rights investigators have gathered testimony from casualties of Syria’s civil war and medical staff indicating that rebel forces have used the nerve agent sarin, one of the lead investigators said on Sunday.”
The report was based on former war crimes prosecutor Carla Del Ponte who told Swiss TV that a UN commission has indications Syrian rebel forces used nerve agent sarin as a weapon.
Yet when Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel read a letter sent by the White House to Congress, hestated that the Syrian regime likely used chemical weapons. Such unconfirmed allegations were also passed to President Obama who described the situation as a “red line” and a “game changer” — only to later temper his statement down by stating: “We don’t have a chain of custody that establishes what exactly happened.”
John McCain and Lindsay Graham also jumped to judgment calling for U.S. intervention and the granting of weapons to the jihadists. In a recent joint statement, the two Republican senators Mike Rogers and John McCain expressed huge concerns regarding the Syrian regime using chemical weapons, which today is becoming more doubtful.
But instead of listening to rational thinking, meanwhile, the White House expressed its doubts over Del Ponte’s revelations, saying it was “highly skeptical” that Syrian rebel forces had used sarin.
“We find it highly likely that any chemical weapon use that has taken place in Syria was done by the Assad regime. And that remains our position,” White House spokesperson Jay Carney told reporters.
Yet such a claim is void of any evidence; how could the United States make such strong allegations, especially since weapons inspectors will only determine whether banned chemical agents were used only if they are able to access sites and take soil, blood, urine or tissue samples and examine them in certified laboratories? This is indeed the question poised by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which works with the United Nations on inspections.
That type of evidence, needed to show definitively if banned chemicals were found, has not been presented by governments and intelligence agencies accusing Syria of using chemical weapons against insurgents. “This is the only basis on which the OPCW would provide a formal assessment of whether chemical weapons have been used,” said Michael Luhan, a spokesman for the Hague-based OPCW.
While the White House takes a position accusing the Assad regime of lobbing chemical weapons, it fails to answer the obvious: one assault happened in the town of Khan al-Assal, a predominately Shiite town. The Syrian revolution is a Sunni movement, and one of its main goals is to remove the Shiite Assad regime. The town has also been a common victim of attacks by Al-Qaeda, a Sunni organization. This is an indication that Sunnis, and not the government — which is Shiite — conducted the attack.
Moreover, neither the rebels nor the government deny that amongst the victims were military personal. In fact, it is said that out of the 26 dead 16 were Syrian soldiers.
According to Middle East expert Walid Phares, if Assad ever escaped from the rebels and hid in the northwestern part of Syria, where most of the Alawites live, and his enemies came to attack there, he would use chemical weapons “to defend his own community,” not kill them.
Furthermore, a medic at the local civilian hospital said that he personally saw soldiers attending to the wounded at the scene of the attack which is now confirmed by Del Ponte.
Another factor that deserves attention is that the device used for the attack was not advanced; both American and independent weapons analysts confirm this. If the Assad regime had such incursion, then it would have utilized something of a more sophisticated arsenal.
Also, if the government was behind this, the attack would have killed more than just 26 people, since Syria is said to own the largest chemical arsenal in the region.
And what about the arsenals captured by the rebels? We have showed the use of Scud missiles never seen on western media as well as major missile cache obtained by rebel forces.
The growing evidence suggests that it is the Syrian rebels who are guilty of using chemical weapons against civilians. The Obama administration would do well to stand back before it punishes the wrong party and, by so doing, continues its lethal habit of making matters worse rather than better — and strengthening and emboldening our deadliest enemies in the Middle East.”

“Benghazi may turn out to be President Obama’s Watergate. The scandal is a growing cancer on the administration, threatening its very existence. The more information comes out, the more damning it is. This is why Democrats — and their media allies — are desperately trying to sweep the truth under the rug. Mr. Obama’s political survival is at stake.
High-profile lawyers Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing are in touch with State Department whistleblowers who were on the ground in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012, when our diplomatic mission was attacked by jihadists. Mr. diGenova says they can no longer remain silent. The whistleblowers want to testify before a House congressional committee. There is only one problem. According to Mr. diGenova and Ms. Toensing, the whistleblowers are being prevented — and intimidated — from speaking out by the Obama administration. Vindictive State Department officials are denying their request for legal representation. Since the whistleblowers’ potential testimony relates to classified information, they refuse to go forward in public without effective legal representation. The possible personal and professional consequences are immense.
If — and I stress if — they testify, then the Obama presidency is in mortal jeopardy. Mr. diGenova stresses that the whistleblowers possess information that will expose the administration’s lies and cover-up. Republicans on Capitol Hill should pursue this scandal to the end.
Benghazi should have been prevented. During the summer of 2012, al Qaeda thugs were roaming the streets of the city. TheRed Cross and the British diplomatic mission pulled out. Our consulate had been physically attacked several times. This is why U.S. officials there repeatedly asked the State Department for bolstered security. It was denied.
Then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton testified under oath at a House hearing in January that she was unaware of any requests for extra security. “I have made it very clear that the security cables did not come to my attention,” she said. That is false. According to a recent congressional report, Mrs. Clinton knew about the cables. In fact, she not only denied the extra protection, she explicitly ordered that consulate security be cut back. The report cites an April 19, 2012, cable bearing Mrs. Clinton’s signature that acknowledges the demand for more security assistance but insists that reductions in security assets should continue.
Moreover, the report also found that State Department officials deliberately manipulated White House talking points to remove any references of culpability by Foggy Bottom for the negligence in security. The connections to terrorism and al Qaeda were purged. The White House wanted to shield Mr. Obama from any political damage in the midst of an election campaign. Theadministration covered up the obvious: Far from being smashed, al Qaeda had mounted a successful jihadist attack on U.S. soil, killing four Americans — including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. This is why Mr. Obama’s surrogates concocted the patently false narrative of a flash mob storming the consulate in protest of an anti-Muslim video. Their goal was to deceive the American public.
The media is also deliberately ignoring another aspect of Benghazigate. The administration refused to send in military reinforcements as Islamist thugs were storming the consulate. AC-130 gunships and U.S. special forces were at a military base only several hours away. They could have rescued our besieged personnel from the compound. Instead, they were ordered to do nothing, leaving Stevens and his colleagues twisting in the wind. The attack continued for more than nine hours. Yet Mr. Obama refused to lift a finger to save endangered American lives.
Why is the administration so determined to stonewall a serious investigation into Benghazi? The real answer may lie beyond cynical politics. Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, has repeatedly asked about the CIA’s alleged illicit role in smuggling weapons from our Benghazi compound to Turkey and eventually into Syria. The Obama administration has been secretly arming the Islamic rebels in the vicious Syrian civil war, according to numerous news organizations. Mr. Paul has cited multiple media reports documenting the CIA smuggling operation in Benghazi. Stevens was critical of the operation. He also feared for his life. The truth about Benghazi could expose the CIA’s clandestine involvement. If that is the case, the Obama administration would be implicated not only in something nefarious, but a lawless and criminal enterprise. Mr. Obama would be no better than a gunrunner, an international arms smuggler. Even his leftist media hacks would have to abandon him.
This is why Republicans must demand Watergate-style hearings on Benghazi. The American people have a right to know whether the president is a criminal. Benghazigate is much worse than Watergate. At its core, Watergate was about the cover-up of a third-rate burglary. For this crime, President Nixon was forced to resign. Benghazigate is about the cover-up of the killing of four Americans. The families of Stevens, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods and Sean Smith deserve to know the truth. It’s time we gave it to them. Let the whistleblowers speak.

The New Mexico desert gets blistering hot, but inside the small windowless container where Brandon Bryant worked as a drone operator for the U.S. Air Force it stays a cool 63 degrees all year long.
Nicola Abé at der Spiegel spoke with Bryant, no longer in the Air Force, who relays a disturbing and tragic scene from his time inside that isolated container in the American desert.
Sixty-three finger numbing degrees and Bryant describes sitting with a group of other pilots looking at more than a dozen computer monitors. The crew are directing drones over Afghanistan 6,250 miles away and the screens jump with a two to five second delay, as infrared video sent from the UAVs whips through the air to New Mexico.
When the order to fire on a target arrives, Bryant paints the roof of a hut with the laser that will guide in a Hellfire missile released by the pilot beside him.
"These moments are like in slow motion," he says to Abé.
No doubt, because on this occasion Bryant says a child walked from behind the building at the last second. Too late for him to do anything else but ask the other pilot, "Did we just kill a kid?"
From der Spiegel:
"Yeah, I guess that was a kid," the pilot replied.
"Was that a kid?" they wrote into a chat window on the monitor.
Then, someone they didn't know answered, someone sitting in a military command center somewhere in the world who had observed their attack. "No. That was a dog," the person wrote.
They reviewed the scene on video. A dog on two legs?
The article follows another widely publicized story from the Marine Times about children killed by Americans on Afghan soil published just weeks ago. In comments made during a CBS '60 Minutes' interview, Barack Obama described violent attacks on embassies in the Middle East and the murder of US ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, as “bumps in the road”.
When asked if recent events in the Middle East had changed his outlook on supporting the Arab Spring, Obama responded: “Well, I’d said even at the time that this is going to be a rocky path. The question presumes that somehow we could have stopped this wave of change. I think it was absolutely the right thing for us to do to align ourselves with democracy, universal right, a notion that people have to be able to participate in their own governance. But I was pretty certain and continue to be pretty certain that there are going to be bumps in the road because, you know, in a lot of these places, the one organizing principle has been Islam.”
A coordinated military maneuver, confirmed by the head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center as a terrorist attack, that employed rocket propelled grenades and other heavy weapons, which was launched on the anniversary on 9/11 against an American embassy that directly led to the death of four Americans, including an ambassador, is a “bump in the road”?
During the interview, Obama admitted that his campaign ads had made mistakes, but somehow, CBS News didn’t find that piece of information newsworthy enough to share with their viewers.
When asked if he was disturbed by fact checkers proving assertions in his ads were untrue, Obama responded: "Do we see sometimes us going overboard in our campaign, are there mistakes that are made, areas where there is no doubt somebody could dispute how we are presenting things? You know, that happens in politics."

That happens in politics when a campaign cannot run on its record in office, is so desperate to win that it deems it necessary to employ every long used dirty “progressive” smear tactic and suffers from a severe shortage of ethics, morals and socially redeeming qualities.

Since his inauguration, Obama has attempted to appease the Islamist world with an “even-handed” approach. Now Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has serious doubts about American resolve to stand behind Israel.
For his part, Obama admitted to viewing Netanyahu’s requests for the U.S. to take a harder stance against Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons as “noise” he must ignore when making American security decisions.

Is it sheer coincidence that the exact same word was used to describe Israel by Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? “I have spoken about this topic at length, previously. We generally speaking do not take very seriously the issue of the Zionists and the possible dangers emanating from them. Please take the time to read this very important story written by a courageous Egyptian liberal intellectual about the Islamist and Muslim Brotherhood lobbies in Washington and the Obama Administration’s secret collaboration with these pro-terrorist, anti-Western, anti-women, anti-American and anti-Semitic organizations. It was just revealed two days ago that FBI Director Mueller secretly met on February 8 at FBI headquarters with a coalition of groups including various Islamist and militant Arabic groups who in the past have defended Hamas and Hizballah and have also issued blatantly anti-Semitic statements. At this meeting, the FBI revealed that it had removed more than 1000 presentations and curricula on Islam from FBI offices around the country that was deemed “offensive.” The FBI did not reveal what criteria was used to determine why material was considered “offensive” but knowledgeable law enforcement sources have told the IPT that it was these radical groups who made that determination. Moreover, numerous FBI agents have confirmed that from now on, FBI headquarters has banned all FBI offices from inviting any counter-terrorist specialists who are considered “anti-Islam” by Muslim Brotherhood front groups.
The February 8 FBI meeting was the culmination of a series of unpublicized directives issued in the last three months by top FBI officials to all its field offices to immediately recall and withdraw any presentation or curricula on Islam throughout the entire FBI. In fact, according to informed sources and undisclosed documents, the FBI directive was instigated by radical Muslim groups in the US who had repeatedly met with top officials of the Obama Administration to complain, among other things, that the mere usage of the term of “radical Islam” in FBI curricula was “offensive” and ‘racist.” And thus, directives went out by Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director Mueller to censor all such material. Included in the material destroyed or removed by the FBI and the DOJ were powerpoints and articles that defined jihad as “holy war” or presentations that portrayed the Muslim Brotherhood as an organization bent on taking over the world—a major tenant that the Muslim Brotherhood has publicly stated for decades.
During the next several months, the IPT will be releasing a series of major investigative reports revealing the secret infiltration by and collaboration with radical Islamic organizations by the Obama administration that has spread to the National Security Council, the Dept of Justice, the FBI, the Dept of Homeland Security, the CIA and the State Department as well as local law enforcement.
The most dramatic oppression of the region’s civil societies and the Arab Spring is not by means of weapons, or in the Middle East. It is not led by Gaddafi, Mubarak, Bin Ali, Saleh, or Assad. It is led by the powerful Islamist lobbies in Washington DC. People may find my words curious if not provocative. But my arguments are sharp and well understood by many Arab and middle eastern liberals and freedom fighters. Indeed, we in the region, who are struggling for real democracy, not for the one time election type of democracy have been asking ourselves since January 2011 as the winds of Arab spring started blowing, why isn’t the West in general and the United States Administration in particular clearly and forcefully supporting our civil societies and particularly the secular democrats of the region? Why were the bureaucracies in Washington and in Brussels partnering with Islamists in the region and not with their natural allies the democracy promoting political forces?
Months into the Arab Spring, we realized that the Western powers, and the Obama Administration have put their support behind the new authoritarians, those who are claiming they will be brought to power via the votes of the people. Well, it is not quite so.
The Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic Nahda of Tunisia, the Justice Party of Morocco and the Islamist militias in Libya’s Transitional National Council have been systematically supported by Washington at the expense of real liberal and secular forces. We saw day by day how the White House guided carefully the statements and the actions of the US and the State Department followed through to give all the chances to the Islamists and almost no chances to the secular and revolutionary youth. We will come back to detail these diplomatic and financial maneuvers which are giving victory to the fundamentalists while the seculars and progressives are going to be smashed by the forthcoming regimes.
In the US, there are interests that determine foreign policy. And there are lobbies that put pressure to get their objectives met in foreign policy. One of the most powerful lobbies in America under the Obama Administration is the Muslim Brotherhood greater lobby, which has been in action for many years. This lobby has secured many operatives inside the Administration and has been successful in directing US policy towards the Arab world. Among leading advisors sympathetic to the Ikhwan is Daliah Mogahed (Mujahid) and her associate, Georgetown Professor John Esposito. Just as shocking, there is also a pro-Iranian lobby that has been influencing US policy towards Iran and Hezbollah in the region.
One of the most important activities of the Islamist lobby in the US is the waging of political and media wars on the liberal Arabs and Middle Eastern figures and groups in America. This battlefield is among the most important in influencing Washington’s policies in the Arab world. If you strike at the liberal and democratic Middle Eastern groups in Washington who are trying to gain support for civil societies in the region, you actually win a major battle. You will be able to influence the resources of the US Government to support the Islamists in the Middle East and not the weak democrats. This huge war waged by the Islamist lobbies in America started at the end of the Cold war and continued all the way till the Arab spring. The two main forces of this lobby are the Muslim Brotherhood fronts and the Iranian fronts. According to research available in the US, the Ikhwan fronts such as CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations), led by Hamas supporter Nihad Awad, as well as the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the Islamic Society of North America, and others waged their political war to block the representatives of Arab liberals and Muslim moderates from making their case to the American public. The Iranian lobby, exemplified by the National Iranian American Committee (NIAC), led by Trita Parsi, has been hitting at Iranian exiles.
Since the 1990s CAIR and its allies have attacked Copts, Southern Sudanese, Lebanese, Syrian reformers, Assyrians and Chaldeans, and Muslim dissidents in the United States. The Ikhwan of America demonized any publication, book, article, or interview in the national media or local press raising the issue of secular freedoms in the Middle East. The Islamists wanted to eliminate the liberal cause in the Arab world and replace it with the cause of the Islamists. What is also shocking is that CAIR and its allies stood by the oppressive regimes and visited them, claiming they speak on behalf of the peoples. CAIR and the Brotherhood fronts in America destroyed systematically every project that would have defended the seculars and liberals originating from the Middle East. The notorious and well-funded Islamists of the US allowed no book, documentary, or show on the liberals in Arab civil societies to see the light.
Thanks to this powerful lobbying campaign, the American public was not given a chance to learn about the deep feelings on the youth in the region. Americans were led to believe that all Muslims, all Arabs and all Middle Easterners were a strange species of humans who cannot appreciate freedom. Instead, the American Islamists, helped by apologists on the petrodollars payrolls, convinced the mainstream media that the Arab world has authoritarians and Islamists only.
Dr Shawki Karas, president of the American Coptic Association, told me in the late 1990s how he was harassed by Islamist activists for speaking up against the Mubarak regime and the Muslim Brotherhood in America. He was threatened with losing his job at the college where he taught. Reverend Keith Roderick, who has assembled a coalition of more than 50 group rights from the Muslim world, was severely attacked by the Islamists and was threatened to be removed from his church position. Muslim American leaders who are conservative and secular, such as Dr Zuhdi Jasser, were crucified by CAIR and the Brotherhood for daring to challenge the Party line of the Isl.amists in America and claiming that the Jihadists are the problem in the region. Muslim liberal dissidents such as Somali Ayan Hirsi Ali, Saudi Ali al Yammi, Syrian Farid Ghadri, Iranian Manda Ervin, and many others were trashed by the Islamist lobbies to block them from defending the causes of secular liberty in the US. Egyptian liberals as well as seculars and democracy activists from Iraq, Sudan, Syria, and other countries have been attacked by CAIR and allies. The pro-Iranian lobby targeted most Iranian-American groups and tried to discredit them, particularly with the rise of the Green Revolution in Iran. By smearing the Muslim liberal exiles, the Islamists were trying to destroy their causes in the mother countries. In the 1990s and the years that followed 9/11 the region’s dictators supported the efforts by Islamist lobbies to crush the liberal exiles. The Mubarak, Bashir, Gaddafi, Assad, and Khomeinist regimes fully supported the so-called Islamophobia campaign waged by CAIR and its Iranian counterpart NIAC against dissidents for calling for secular democracy in the region. The dissidents were accused of being pro-Western by both the Islamists and the dictators.
The Islamist lobbies also severely attacked members of the US Congress such as Democrats Tom Lantos, who has since passed away, Eliot Engel, Howard Berman, Gary Ackerman, and Joe Lieberman as well as Republicans Frank Wolfe, Chris Smith, Trent Franks, John McCain, Rick Santorum, and Sam Brownback for their efforts in passing legislative acts in support for democracy and liberty in the Middle East. CAIR and NIAC heavily savaged President Bush’s speeches on Freedom Forward in the Middle East, deploying all the resources they had to block US support to liberal democrats in the region. Islamist lobbies in Washington are directly responsible for killing any initiative in the US Government to support Darfur, southern Sudan, Lebanon, the Kurds, liberal women in the Muslim world, and true democrats in the Arab world and Muslim Africa.
In the think tank world, CAIR and its allies aggressively attacked scholars who raised the issue of persecution against seculars or minorities in the Arab world and Iran. Among those attacked were Nina Shea and Paul Marshal from the Hudson Institute and the founder of an anti-slavery group, Dr Charles Jacobs, who was exposing the Sudan regime for its atrocities. Last but not least is the Islamists’ relentless campaign to stirke at top scholars who advise Government and appear in the media to push for democratic liberation in the region. The vast and vicious attacks leveled against Professor Walid Phares—initially by CAIR’s Nihad Awad and then widened by pro-Hezbollah and Muslim Brotherhood operatives online—has revealed to Arab and Middle Eastern liberal and seculars how ferocious is the battle for the Middle East in the US. Phares’s books, particularly the latest one, The Coming Revolution: Struggle for Freedom in the Middle East (2010), hit the Islamist agenda hard by predicting the civil society revolts in the Middle East and then predicting how the Islamists would try to control them. Phares was attacked by an army of Jihadist militia online like no author since Samuel Huntington in the 1990s. As a freedom activist from the Middle East, Mustafa Geha, wrote, Phares is a hero to Muslim liberals. Along with dissidents, lawmakers, experts, and human rights activists, Phares is a force driving for a strategic change in US foreign policy towards supporting secular democracies in the region. This explains why the Islamists of America are fighting the battle for the forthcoming regimes with all the means they have.”

I. Mideast Expert Phares: Obama Turns Blind Eye to Iranian Peril!

“Middle East expert Walid Phares tells Newsmax that the Obama administration is not convinced that the Iranians pose a serious danger — even as a top Iranian official declared that his country is prepared to launch a pre-emptive strike.
Phares, while noting that he believes the Iranian quest for nuclear weapons is “not stoppable,” also says a resolution passed in the U.S. Senate last week is a “message to the administration” that it is time to confront the Islamic republic before it obtains such weapons.
Coincidentally, Phares’ remarks in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV on Tuesday came on the same day that an Iranian official vowed that his country would take pre-emptive action against its enemies if it felt its national interests were endangered.
“Our strategy now is that, if we feel our enemies want to endanger Iran’s national interests, and want to decide to do that, we will act without waiting for their actions,” said Mohammad Hejazi, the deputy head of the Islamic republic’s armed forces.

Phares is the author of “The Confrontation: Winning the War against Future Jihad” and “The Coming Revolution: Struggle for Freedom in the Middle East.” He is a regular Newsmax contributor and advises members of Congress on the Middle East.
In the exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Phares says economic sanctions on the Iranians won’t persuade them to stop their nuclear weapons development efforts.
“The Iranian regime is convinced that they are going to go forward with their program,” he says.
“That program includes the nuclear weapon, but also the delivery system. They’re working very hard on missiles, both intercontinental when they can, and regional, and certainly they can put Israel, most of the Arab countries, Europe, Moscow, India, and our fleet in the Gulf and in the eastern Mediterranean in their range.
“But they are also going to try to negotiate gain time. In the meantime, the buildup of their weapons system is on. It’s not stoppable.”
Asked whether Israel will disregard urging from the United States not to launch a pre-emptive attack on Iran, Phares responds: “Certainly the Israelis have their own clock that is different from the American clock, the European one, or the Arab one. It has to do with the width of Israel. It has to do with Israel unaccepting the idea that they could absorb one strike.
“So if the Iranian regime is very close to putting a weapon on a missile, then no questions asked, [the Israelis] are going to try to take action. They will try to coordinate with us or inform us at the end of the day.”
Phares adds: “What you see in Iran is preparation for confrontation, and if you don’t confront them it’s like the National Socialists in the ’30s. If you don’t stop them, they’re going to continue. After Czechoslovakia, it was Poland, then France. And after Iraq it’s Syria, and then Lebanon and eastern Arabia.
“It seems to me the Obama administration is not convinced that the Iranians are really a threat. It is convinced that they are a nuisance, and a deal eventually after those sanctions would work. That’s the view of this administration.
“But what we have now in the Middle East is way more dangerous than what we had before, even after the killing of bin Laden and after the Arab spring. What we have now is an Iran that is much closer to the bomb. And you have the rest of the Middle East falling slowly under the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
The United States needs to contain Iran and the jihadists and partner with real democratic forces in the Middle East that are ready to work with America, Phares says.
A bipartisan group of senators passed a resolution last week declaring that it is unacceptable for Iran to obtain a nuclear capability.
“This is a necessary move,” Phares observes.
“These moves are basically coming a little bit late in the process, but they are always important. This is a message to the administration — a message to all the presidential campaigns — that we need to keep in mind that, while we are going into our political processes here the Iranians are moving forward, and there will be a day when if we don’t check them they will come and say here’s our weapon and you’ve got to deal with us as a nuclear force. That is what the Congress does not want to see happening.”
As for Iran’s threat to close the Strait of Hormuz, where 20 percent of the world’s oil passes, Phares tells Newsmax: “The Iranians don’t need to shut down the Strait of Hormuz. They need to threaten, and that’s what is happening.
“That’s why the prices are going up. Americans have to be very careful about the next stage because what we see now in terms of prices may go well higher than what we are accustomed to.”
