It is amazing how quickly the focus in DC can change from fiscal matters to something entirely different.  Politicians remind me of three-year old children – easily distracted.  Never mind the huge deficits and fiscal crisis we have on our hands which has not been addressed in over twelve years!  I know – let’s talk about federal immigration reform or better yet, federal gun control laws… whatever is viewed as the next crisis is the one to which attention is given.  Reminds me of the old political saying – “Never let a good crisis go to waste”.

I wrote an e-mail to my House Representative a few weeks ago asking him to vote NO on the $50.4 billion dollar bill to approve aid to Hurricane Sandy victims because a large portion of the bill included spending for items that had absolutely nothing to do with aiding the storm victims.  In addition, there were no offsetting spending cuts.  The House could not even approve to cut spending to cover 1/3 of the cost of this bill.

As one of my favorite Washington DC correspondents, Jamie Dupree, posted on his blog: “While many Republicans wanted a smaller disaster relief bill, some of them refused to embrace a plan to pay for 1/3 of the plan, by using an across the board budget cut of 1.63% to trim $17 billion.  “Are we willing and able to do without anything?” asked a frustrated Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), who saw 71 of his fellow Republicans vote against the offsetting budget cuts.  The move reinforced arguments by Democrats that the GOP loves to talk about cutting the budget and saving money, but doesn’t follow through.”

Think about this as it relates to your household budget.  Let’s say a disaster strikes – strong winds damage your home’s shingles and you need to have new shingles put on your roof.  Your insurance policy will cover the cost of replacing the shingles, BUT will require you to pay a $2,000 deductible.  The first item most of us would do is look at our budget and see what we need to cut in order to account for that unexpected $2,000 outlay.  Perhaps we have savings and can tap into that, have a line-of-credit and can borrow the funds, or can do the work ourselves.  Of course, we may decide to look for a second job and try to increase our revenue stream to pay for the $2,000, but putting these options aside, normal folks look to what they can cut to make up for this new “required” expense.  We may look at cutting entertainment or budgeted funds for clothes or simply decide not to get the roof fixed at this time.

Let’s face facts, neither Republicans nor Democrats are serious about budget cuts or reining in government spending.  Their actions over the previous twelve years (Bush and Obama administrations) make this evidently clear.  Our politicians are in the business of keeping our government growing – why do you think the seat of government continues to attract those looking for work?  A large % of the government’s spending manages to stay in DC – how convenient!

The choices we face in each election are pretty much as follows:

Vote Democrat for unbridled spending – after all for many Democrats there is no fiscal crisis – just keep raising the debt ceiling and borrowing funds – eventually the economy will come around and with the tax increases just introduced and the savings from Obamacare, enough revenue will be generated to deal with it (FAT CHANCE)!

But a vote for Republicans is just as bad – big talk about budget cuts when they can be used to criticize Democrats, but then go forward with huge increases in spending on military and other Republican favored programs.

The U.S. government has an enormous spending problem and I believe very few if any, of those who represent us on the Hill give a damn!

SOTU - My Short Take

Excerpts from 2013 SOTU and Comments

In 2011, Congress passed a law saying that if both parties couldn’t agree on a plan to reach our deficit goal, about a trillion dollars’ worth of budget cuts would automatically go into effect this year. These sudden, harsh, arbitrary cuts would jeopardize our military readiness, they’d devastate priorities like education and energy and medical research. They would certainly slow our recovery and cost us hundreds of thousands of jobs. And that’s why Democrats, Republicans, business leaders, and economists have already said that these cuts -- known here in Washington as “the sequester” -- are a really bad idea.

= = = =My Comments

BUT They passed it… it was bad then and it is bad now…. Reducing Spending by $1Trillion isn a single giant step IS bad. So is promising to reduce it gradually over the next 10 or 20 years…long after those in office are gone.

Why do we have to “plunge” in or “drag it out forever?

My Debt Reduction Initiative is a softer walk into first killing the Deficit, over three years, and then buying down our debt. Instead of “the big gulp”, my Debt Reduction Initiative provides spending cuts in smaller steps of 0.5, 0.3, and 0.2 Trillion over 3 years. It gets the job done in a reasonable time.

=========

Most Americans -- Democrats, Republicans and independents -- understand that we can’t just cut our way to prosperity. They know that broad-based economic growth requires a balanced approach to deficit reduction, with spending cuts and revenue, and with everybody doing their fair share.

... tonight I’ll lay out additional proposals that are fully paid for and fully consistent with the budget framework both parties agreed to just 18 months ago. Let me repeat: Nothing I’m proposing tonight should increase our deficit by a single dime. It is not a bigger government we need, but a smarter government that sets priorities and invests in broad-based growth

======My Comments

Mr O. You need to go back to school. Americans are on to your deceptions.

We are totally dis-interested in NOT INCREASING THE DEFICIT.

You need to admit that THE ISSUE IS DEBT. Your rhetoric about not increasing the Deficit leaves it at about $1 Trillion per year; growing our Debt to $20Trillion before you leave office.

Please review and implement my Debt Reduction Initiative

Do you agree?

Some Conservatives are unhappy as how our government has swayed to the left, now suggest a new Constitutional Convention.  My response is with President Obama in the White House, and a Liberal Democrat controlled US Senate, a Constitutional Convention would likely end up with an even more left-wing Socialist-led Constitution than under our current.

The same applies to new legislation on ‘Immigration’‘Legal immigration’ is not broken. Do not allow the Liberal Democrats and Republicans In Name Only (RINO) to falsely convince you otherwise.  Do not follow their ‘aggressive and hostile’ policies to change our Constitutional system.

‘Legal immigration’ is where the heart and the brain unite; all is welcomed!  ‘Illegal immigrants’ must follow our ‘immigration’ laws that have worked well for more than 200 years.  Our Capitol Hill Democrats and Republicans must stop the invasion of unidentified, unknown, and all criminal ‘illegal immigrants’ from stealing and/or purchasing a fraudulent Social Security and/or Driver’s License, etc. of Americans identities, prior to and/or after their arrival?

RINO Senators, namely, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) have been so ‘aggressive and hostile’ by allowing Democrats Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL.), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), and others into supporting new ‘immigration’ to some 11 million “illegal immigrants” into our great nation.

Anytime Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Robert Menendez, and/or Sen. Dick Durbin are leading legislation(s), it is not good for Republicans.  It is not good for law-abiding and/or tax-paying Americans.

America is in a depressed economy and we are seeing even more disappearing jobs, while President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats are demanding more taxes that destroy more jobs.  Who, how, and when is the $16.5 Trillion debt to be paid?  Americans are searching for jobs.  Americans should come first.  “Illegal immigrants” must be rejected.  Sen. Jeff Sessions, (R-AL) says this newly proposed legislation will add Trillions of dollars more to our national debt.

President Obama and every Capitol Hill legislator should be asked, “Who, how, and when is our increasing ‘National Debt’ to be paid that has now passed $16.5 trillion?  More ‘illegal immigrants’ would take more of our American jobs.  These same ‘illegal immigrants’ are increasing American taxpayers’ more cost for their education, food assistance, healthcare, housing, etc.  Are you willing to force (y)our child(ren), (y)our grandchild(ren), etc. to be further burdened with even more debt?

Each Republican who supports new legislation on ‘illegal immigration’ is a Republican In Name Only (RINO) who may unknowingly support more of the ‘Socialistic’ Democrat Party control.  New immigration legislation for ‘illegal immigrants’ will ‘magnify’ the Democrat Party.

Do Capitol Hill legislators and/or the main-stream Medias have any respect for over 600,000 American men and women who have given their lives in the Military and/or the millions who have served in defending our Constitution, our American Flag,  and our freedoms?  Someway, we must stop President Obama and Capitol Hill legislators from granting ‘freedoms to criminals’.

Now, President Obama, and the US Senate ‘Gang of Eight’ are attempting ‘freedoms for criminals’, including Sen. Robert Menendez who employed Luis Zavaleta in his Senate office; an ‘illegal immigrant’ and a registered sex offender.  The Miami Herald  reports “FBI agents late Tuesday night raided the West Palm Beach business of eye doctor Salomon Melgen, left, suspected of providing free trips and even underage Dominican prostitutes to U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J. — who has denied what he calls the “fallacious allegations.””  Homeland Security instructed federal agents not to arrest Zavaleta until after Election Day.

Sen. Menendez is not being forced out or openly implied by his fellow Senate colleagues that he must resign from his US Senate office or even any Senate  Democrat Party Committee.

The ‘Gang of Eight’ consists of Democrats Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL.), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), and Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO).  They are joined by Republicans Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ).

Anytime Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Robert Menendez, and/or Sen. Dick Durbin are leading legislation(s), it ‘ain’t’ good for Republicans.  Their voting records will sustain this accusation.  What and why are Republicans so intense in support of the Democrat Party Platform and a disgrace to all Americans who have served and/or died to defend our Constitution, our American Flag,  and our freedoms?  Instead, support the Republican Party Platform on ‘immigration’, and nothing less.

Illegal immigrants are invaders of the USA as they purchase and/or steal an American identity; Social Security number, Driver’s License, etc., and often survive off the government for subsidized housing, food, education, healthcare, etc.; all at American taxpayers’ expense.  The USA currently has some 11 million to 12 million Latino ‘illegal immigrants’.  Some suggest another 11 million ‘illegals’ from the Middle East and North Africa, a breeding ground for ‘terrorists’.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, (R-AL) says, “A large-scale amnesty is likely to add trillions of dollars to the national debt over time, accelerate Medicare’s and Social Security’s slide into insolvency, and put enormous strain on our public assistance programs.”

President Obama and every Capitol Hill legislator should be asked, “Who, when, and how is our increasing ‘National Debt’ to be paid; currently approaching $16.5 trillion of debt?  Are you willing to force (y)our child(ren), (y)our grandchild(ren), and further generations to be hopelessly burdened with your created debt?”

Without a ‘stoppage’ and ‘reduction’ of our rocketing National Debt and a newer form with higher cost on ‘immigration’, President Obama and every Capitol Hill legislators are driving our policies achieving in the direction of retaining bank robbers and employing these corrupt individuals as police officers and/or bankers.

Enforce current ‘immigration’ laws first.  Law-abiding Americans welcome ‘legal immigration’.  Criminal Americans support ‘illegal immigration’.

Do not be hoodwinked allowing Liberal Democrats and RINO Republicans to grant ‘freedoms for criminals’ or other Constitutional freedoms to repetitive offenders.  Do not believe it when main-stream Medias tell you that ‘legal immigration’ is broken.  It is not!  It has been legal, fair and equal, honorable, and successful for more than 200 years.  Many elected and/or appointed officials are, themselves, violating our Constitution, US Code, and our enclosed ‘Immigration Laws”.

If ‘illegal immigrants’ love America’s freedoms so much, they will seek to obey the laws of the USA that have been so privileged by many for more than 200 years.  Legal Americans deserve our jobs and our freedoms.

Do not permit President Obama and Capitol Hill legislators to provide ‘freedoms for criminals’.

‎10 DAYS TO FISCAL CLIFF-No deal is better than a bad deal.  Here is what a good deal looks like with a straight line trajectory to 2020>Reduce Federal spending from current 24% of GDP down to 18% of GDP by 2020 which is more the norm in the US outside of a world war.  This means the Federal budget must decline by roughly 25% (6%/24%) which equates to .25 x $3.9 trillion current budget=$975 billion over 8 years.  This means the spending must be reduced by $975 billion/8 years = $122 billion additional each year to 2020.  To reach a balanced budget, that means $1.2 trillion deficit -$975 billion spending cuts = $225 billion of new taxes over 8 years or a phase in of $28 billion of additional taxes each year.

For those of you who excelled in math the above will all fit together.  The one thing that also needs to be part of the deal is a Balanced Budget Amendment so the Nation can get off its spending binge since there is no single person (ie Federal CEO) managing the budget unlike every major corporation in the world.  It's just been a free for all in DC the last 4 years.  RZ UVA Econ (3.9 GPA) '76 High Honors

PAUL RYAN'S PROPOSED BUDGET CUTS

I received the following supposed budget cuts from  a friend.  While I haven't been able to verify every cent, if even some of them are correct, this is shocking.

My question is, what is all this doing in the budget in the first place? If, indeed, these figures are accurate, they are only the tip of the iceberg.  There is a lot of waste in the military budget just as, I'm sure, in every Federal bureaucracies' budgets.  We should scrub all of them to the essentials.

Also, BEFORE we allow congress resort to raising our taxes to support their profligate spending, we should do a salary and benefit review of their compensation packages.  They've voted themselves far better benefits than an average American enjoys, yet there is no penalty for them if they do a poor job.  The worst that can happen is they are voted out of office and collect their pension and benefits.  Bet you'd like a job like that!

We should demand that Congress re-evaluate all of our foreign aid expenditures as well as our participation in, and contribution to, the United Nations.  It's become very one sided in our funding and hosting them yet very little support for our interests or initiatives.  We'd be better served to establish strong alliances with countries that have similar interests and aspirations and lend our foreign aid to them--and only them.

It is time to stop borrowing money to give away to other countries and wasting on inefficient government programs at home.  It is unconscionable that we would allow our government to saddle future generations with a debt that they have had no say in how the money was spent.  Essentially this is TAXATION (of the yet to be born) without any REPRESENTATION!  The very principle that drove our separation from England.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a sprawling economic report, and it underscored how dire our looming economic forecast looks. If we can somehow avoid falling off the fiscal cliff and deflect Taxmageddon, thereby averting a wave of scheduled tax hikes as the "Bush Tax Rates" expire, we can hopefully stay stagnated as we are today. Keep in mind that this is an overly optimistic forecast and a best-case scenario for the U.S. economy next year. This means the BEST we can hope for if Americans give Barack Obama another four years is 8 percent unemployment, and economic growth of 1.7 percent--That is as good as it gets.

Whether one likes to admit it or not, the deficit has hovered near $1 trillion for each year of the Obama presidency, meaning that Obama did not satisfy his 2009 promise to halve the deficit by the end of his first term. Obama said this about his budget, "We built this budget around the idea that our country has always done best when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share and everyone plays by the same rules." The only rules the Obama administration are imposing are Marxist ones attempting to spread the wealth around. It is worth examining what the President’s budget proposes for the next four fiscal years.

Yes, the national debt will surpass $20 trillion by 2016.

  • Under the President’s budget policies, federal debt will increase to $25.4 trillion by the end of 2022, an increase of $10.6 trillion (72 percent).
  • Federal debt at the end of the current fiscal year will stand at $16.2 trillion—$6.2 trillion above where it was 4 years earlier.
  • In the last 4 years, the debt increased by more than it did in the previous 17 years.
  • The $1.8 trillion in tax hikes in the President’s budget finance $1.4 trillion in spending above projected growth, not deficit reduction.
  • Debt will remain permanently elevated above 100 percent of GDP — a level of debt that economists believe results in weaker growth and millions of lost jobs.

The CBO report goes on to summarize that if we continue or increase our current tax and spending policies our economic outlook would only improve in the short run but would boost deficits and debt significantly and would place the budget on a path that is ultimately unsustainable. The Senate has done nothing to remedy this situation. The president has done nothing. Remember, President Obama's budget was embarrassingly rejected by the Democrat controlled Senate 99-0 and in the House it failed to garnish one stinking vote where it failed 414-0. Watch Stu Burguiere explain what he calls “the deficit blame game” while he compares President Obama’s deficit to the total deficit of former President George W. Bush, who Obama routinely blames for all of his administration’s shortcomings. (Well, that and tsunami's, headwinds from Europe, ATM's, and even on-line travel sites)

Obama knows that his economic policies are conducive of neither liberty as traditionally conceived by Americans nor prosperity. He is many things, but he is not incompetent. His policy flows from his vast knowledge and exposure to both Keynesian economics and neo-Marxian philosophy. The problem is that most Americans did not realize what Barack Obama meant when he envisioned a "fundamental transformation" for our country. Obama's idea is unlike the image most Americans have acquired an affection for and even more unlike the America which our ancestors called  home. The philosopher Ronald Dworkin said and Obama would agree that "a more equal society" -- a society where the resources of which are equally "distributed" -- is better than the contrary, even if its citizens prefer inequality. What this means is nothing short of the death of America as it is currently constituted. While the president genuinely believes that his plans are what's best for the country, his policy prescriptions are indeed ultimately destructive. Barack Obama blames everyone but himself, DO NOT FORGET THAT THE DEMOCRATS CONTROLLED BOTH THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE FOR THE FIRST HALF OF HIS TERM, and Obama got passed every piece of legislation he desired. Under such leadership, American incomes declined more in the three-year expansion that started in June 2009 than during the longest recession since the Great Depression, according an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data by Sentier Research LLC. The research firm’s Gordon Green, who previously directed work on the Census Bureau’s income and poverty statistics program, “Almost every group is worse off than it was three years ago, and some groups had very large declines in income, we’re in an unprecedented period of economic stagnation.”

Newt on the Ryan Budget

Upon first look at the budget put forth by Congressman Ryan, Former Speaker of the House (and at the time presidential candidate) Newt Gingrich had some harsh words as to what he thought of the budget. He has amended his statement, voicing his support of changes and the congressman/now vice-presidential pick.

He said this on Sunday:

"The basic thrust of (Ryan’s budget plan) is the right direction for the country. The one thing I objected to back in May of 2011 was that he eliminated Medicare for everybody. He came back with Ron Wyden. He met my only objection.”

CBO Estimates Obama's 2013 Budget Plan Would Hurt Economic Growth                The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Friday that President Obama’s 2013 budget will hurt the economy in the long term, arguing the larger deficits it would produce would reduce the amount of capital available to businesses.
After five years, the CBO says, the Obama proposals would reduce economic output by between 0.5 percent and 2.2 percent.
Larger deficits caused by the budget would cause the government to issue more bonds, sucking up private capital to finance its debts and thereby reducing the funds businesses could use to expand and hire, the CBO said. An increased tax on capital gains included in the president's plan would also tend to reduce private capital, it says.
The 2013 Obama budget proposes continuing the Bush tax rates for the middle class and enacting elements of a short-term Jobs Act stimulus. In the near term, actions such as these could increase growth by as much as 1.4 percent, CBO says.
The new CBO report complements a March estimate that Obama’s budget would add $3.5 trillion to deficits over 10 years compared to current law. That report did not try to capture any effects on economic growth.
The White House, using a different baseline than CBO, has claimed its budget would reduce deficits by $3.2 trillion over 10 years.
Taking economic effects into account, Obama’s budget could add as much as $3.9 trillion in deficits by 2022, CBO estimates. Slower economic growth tends to increase deficits by reducing tax collection and increasing spending on items like unemployment insurance.

Mack Penny Plan

The Boehner plan, the latest version that is, was dumped by the Senate. Surprise.  Tea Party people are being blamed and characterized as hobbits again as they were by McCain the other day. I don't have a problem with being called names, which really doesn't bother me, what does bother me is the fact that Boehner is not standing his ground with Cut, Cap, and Balance and has not looked at the Penny Plan. We need a balanced budget – stop spending, how hard is it? I have to admit I do feel bad for Mr. Boehner and I admire his persistence the reality is: He needs one plan and only one plan and then drop it in the laps of the Democrats and this President and not be a sell out. I can only imagine his frustration, but he was hired to do a job and if you can't take the pressure then move over and let someone else in that can!

Regarding this ongoing issue: It is just simple common sense. Seriously. Just a few days ago Mr. Boehner said about the Penny Plan, "It is worth looking at" and then came up with something entirely different, might I mention another worthless plan. The Penny Plan makes perfect sense and addresses all the issues. The Democrats are using this whole crisis as a game of chess with the American people as the pawns. There were plans in order: the Ryan Plan; Cut, Cap, and Balance, etc. The President and his colonies are sitting back, watching, and allowing the Republicans to take the blame for everything that is going wrong right now on the Hill. We need to have one plan, pass it, and put it in their hands for deliberation in the Senate; let them do something other than run their mouths. They need to stop this madness and stand up for what they believe in; end of story!

Gina Aveni Mack: "Obama's Lack of Leadership Puts America in Danger"

Boehner Plan Falls Short of Restoring Fiscal Order

WASHINGTON, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) announced today that he will not support Speaker Boehner's plan, which raises the nation's debt ceiling. The plan does not fix the debt crisis and does not balance the budget.

Mack stated: "President Obama's lack of a spending reduction plan and the Senate's various schemes to license more federal spending would drive any credit lender into orbit and has left Speaker Boehner rightfully frustrated. Speaker Boehner's plan is an attempt to deal with the financial irresponsibility that the federal government has brought upon the American people, but falls short of putting our fiscal house in order. I would urge the Speaker and the President to adopt the Mack Penny Plan which effectively cuts up the government's credit card and takes us out of debt in eight years. House Republicans have put forth multiple plans to avoid default and get our fiscal house in order by cutting spending and implementing serious budget reforms. The President's lack of leadership and lack of a plan reminds me of Hans Christian Anderson's The Emperor's New Clothes."

Presently the Mack Penny Plan enjoys the support of over 40 co-sponsors in the U.S. House; the backing of the Republican Study Committee's 103 Members, U.S. Senators Enzi (R-WY), Rand Paul (R-KY), John Barrasso (R-WY),The One Cent Solution, The National Taxpayers Union, and FreedomWorks.

The Penny Plan balances the budget by:

•Cutting total federal spending by one percent each year for six consecutive years,

•Setting an overall spending cap of 18 percent of gross domestic product in 2018, and

•Reducing overall spending by $7.5 trillion over 10 years.

Greece Rated World’s Worst Credit Risk
USA in Worse Shape Financially than Greece

Mere hours before Standard and Poor’s cut Greece’s credit rating by three levels and branded the debilitated Mediterranean nation with the world’s lowest debt grade for its bonds; Pimco’s Bill Gross told CNBC that the United States’ financial status was much worse than Greece’s. Pimco which manages over $1.2 TRillion in bond funds, according to Gross will NOT be buying U.S. Treasury bonds. The “CCC” credit rating for Greece was not unexpected; the evaluation by Gross of the United States’ fiscal ills is no surprise for regular readers of Rajjpuut’s Folly.
For most of the taxpaying public, the news from Gross and Pimco, is a savage blow. Pimco, based in Newport Beach, Calif., runs the largest bond fund in the world. Gross confirmed a report Friday that Pimco has little interest in US debt and its low yields that are in place despite an ugly national balance sheet.   "Why wouldn't an investor buy Canada with a better balance sheet or Australia with a better balance sheet with interest rates at 1 or 2 or 3 percent higher?" he said. "It simply doesn't make any sense."

As we’ve mentioned many times herein, the combination of roughly $14.5 TRillion in acknowledged national debt; many TRillions more in entitlement debt (social security, Medicare and the federal side of Medicaid) which was never set aside by congress according to legal requirements but rather was spent on ever bigger and bigger government; and the crushing weight of UNfunded future liabilities (the average person paying into these programs over the year is now legally entitled to receive up to 3.1 times their pay-in on average) owed by all those entitlement programs . . . right now stands at roughly $116 TRillion. That is a number roughly 2.16 times the average gross domestic product (GDP) of the entire planet and roughly 7.7 times our American GDP.   And in case you’ve seen other figures . . . it’s simple: they are lies. $116 TRillion is the straight skinny.  In straightforward language, if these people were running public companies and pulled off what they've pulled off on you . . . everyone of them would be in prison for a long, long time.
Government accounting of the situation has been abetting the lying progressive politicians in these manners for roughly 55 years in the same way that the government now tells us that unemployment is 9.1% in the country (the real figure is roughly 17.8% which includes all those who don’t have jobs that really want one but who don’t fit the government’s narrow definition); in the same way that the government gave us figures about how many jobs that the $787 Billion Obama stimulus “saved or created.” In case you haven’t figured things out yet, Pilgrim, your government is run by the “political class,” that is, by a special interest group whose main purpose in life is to keep the fat, cozy and often senseless bureaucratic jobs created in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere; and for the politicians who passed those laws creating those jobs to get themselves re-elected. They are NOT accountable to you and certainly feel no compunction to tell you the truth EVER. About 20% of the Republicans and 4% of the Democrats in Congress right now are working for you, that’s why those idiots in congress can’t get anything right, because their definition of “right” means “best for them and for the political class” NOT “best for you.”
Bill Gross’ appraisal should stand as an out and out warning to all taxpaying Americans as to the level of damage that the policies of Barack Obama’s administration; and those of Chairman Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve Banking System have inflicted upon our economy that so severely undercut the American dollar that unless . . .
1)     House Speaker John Boehner stands by his declaration that “Any increase in the national debt ceiling must be matched ‘dollar-for-dollar’ by a decrease in the budget (our 2011 budget expiring in October is $3.65 TRillion and increases the deficit by $1.59 TRillion)
2)    The house and the senate agree and pass such a program
3)    And President Obama signs it into law rather than vetoing it
. . . unless such actions take place by roughly August 1, 2011, Rajjpuut predicts that the S&P rating for U.S. Treasury notes will drop very close to Greece’s.  Of course since Obama's handler, multi-billionaire currency-speculator George Soros, would benefit immensely and perhaps double his net worth if the American Dollar collapsed; lost it's 52-year seat as the World's Reserve Currency; and hyper-inflation hit America's shores, which way will the smart money** bet.

Moody’s cut its rating on Greece on June 1 to Caa1, leaving only Ecuador as a worse sovereign risk. The S&P rating abasement put Greece well below Ecuador. No other sovereign nation is graded as low as CCC by S&P, according to an S&P spokesman’s e-mail communications.
“The ratings agencies are now playing catch-up with the market,” said Gianluca Salford, a fixed-income strategist at J.P. Morgan in London. “The market is pricing in a very high probability that there will be a credit event around Greece. The agencies are just catching up to the negativity that’s already priced in by the market, not the other way around.”
Moody’s gave a wake-up call to America when it recently refused to lower the country’s AAA rating but issued a warning that the USA was “trending negative.” The last time such an occurrence hit this country was on December 8, 1941, the day after the Empire of Japan’s sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. It appears that Moody’s and S&P are waiting to see what happens in the upcoming congressional debate over raising the nation’s debt limit. President Obama is asking that the debt ceiling be increased by $2.7 TRillion to $17.0 TRillion. Boehner and congressional Republicans, as we’ve mentioned are saying that any increase in the debt ceiling requires a “dollar-for-dollar” reduction in the budget. IF, a huge IF, if Obama and the progressive Democrats have any sense, than Rajjpuut estimates that the most likely compromise would be a debt-limit increase of $1.7 TRillion (to $16 TRillion) and a 2012 budget of $1.95 TRillion. Those numbers might actually turn the economy around so markedly that they’d have a chance of surviving in power after November, 2012 elections. If, a teensy-tiny if, any other deal comes around, Rajjpuut believes that Moody’s and S&P will NOT compromise and will NOT endanger those who read their evaluations . . . but will severely downgrade the United States’ Credit ratings. So severely, perhaps that paying near loan-shark’s rates on our treasuries will NOT be out of the question. Enjoy your day, taxpayers!

Ya’all live long, strong and ornery,
Rajjpuut

** Soros' hedge funds and those run by progressives all over the world are buying up farm land like crazy apparently betting that the collapse of the American economy will lead to a worldwide famine.  Nice people, Rajjpuut bets they just want to put a lot of acreage in foodstuffs to help out in case anything goes wrong?!

As Republicans try to reign in the budget to make it more solvent the news claims they are killing seniors and forcing the poor to starve. However, the only people talking about cutting Food Stamps are the democrats.

I am not an advocate of cutting Food Stamps, but it should obviously have more control and not be a drain on the people paying into it. There is a lot of generosity in America from Churches, compaines, and the pockets of individuals. The government is able to send donations to other countries, so I do not think there is any shortage of generosity in this country.

It is amazing how the left and the media can continue to get a way with reporting Republicans do not care about seniors or the poor while at the same time Democrats are responsible for exactly what they claim the Republicans are doing.

I know the Tea Party is helping to get the message out, but it seems like as all this news continues to mount up it is bottle necking and not reaching the mainstream. We can get the news, but with 2012 just around the corner we need a person that isn't afraid to get this message out and hammer it back at the left.

Democrats who reluctantly slashed a food-stamp program to fund a state-aid bill may have to do so again to pay for a top priority of first lady Michelle Obama.

The House will soon consider an $8 billion child-nutrition bill that’s at the center of the first lady’s “Let’s Move” initiative. Before leaving for the summer recess, the Senate passed a smaller version of the legislation that is paid for by trimming the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as the food-stamp program.

The proposed cuts would come on top of a 13.6 percent food-stamp reduction in the $26 billion Medicaid and education state-funding bill that President Obama signed this week.

Food stamps have made multiple appearances on the fiscal chopping block because Democrats have few other places to turn to offset the cost of legislation.

Party leaders raided the budget to find off-setting tax increases and spending cuts to pay for their top legislative priorities, including the roughly $900 billion healthcare law. Congressional pay-as-you-go rules require lawmakers to offset all non-emergency spending.

If ever we wondered just how out-of-control this administration's spending is, nothing makes an example better than the number of people now dependent on government.  This includes government jobs (doubled), food (off the charts), housing (in the tank), transportation (non-existent), energy resources (doubled), loans (pray), welfare, unemployment, and the list goes on.

At this point, it is becoming clear our real battle is in the budget and reducing the debt limit -- not increasing it. I'm done with what has become another $30 or $40 billion dollar reduction in the grand scheme of things.  This is getting serious, but the politicians are playing Monopoly, rather then their constitutional role of advise & consent.

In line with the upcoming budget and deficit battle, this Food Stamps graph is just from 2008! A clear example of Obama's spending problem.

THE DAMAGE OBAMA HAS DONE

With his new budget, Obama not only ducked our economic problems, he gave it his famous finger.  What was it that Tennessee Ernie Ford said -- "Another day older, and deeper in debt!  Saint Peter dontcha call me, 'cause I can't go.  I owe my soul to the company sto'e (that's the White House, my friends)" Debt, debt, debt.  Debt for you, for me, for our children, and for our grandchildren.  It's sinful, and the man in the White House has no conscience.

"It's Debt On Arrival", Congressman Paul Ryan said. http://bit.ly/f0Weqa
