Why the U.S. Should Support a Kurdish State

{ frontpagemag.com } ~ The Kurds of Syria have once again been excluded by the international community, or to be more accurate, by the United Nations-backed committee tasked with drafting a new constitution for war-torn Syria... Kurdish demonstrators protested their exclusion in front of the UN offices in the city of Qamishli, the capital of the Al-Hasakah governorate, where Kurds are an absolute majority. They carried placards that read: “It’s our right to participate in the drafting of the constitution.” The Kurds now control an autonomous territory, about 30% of Syria’s territory, mostly in northern Syria. They call their territory Rojava meaning Western Kurdistan, which contains most of Syria’s oilfields, and its bread basket. The Kurdish administration of Rojava complains about not being represented in the UN draft plan. Talaat Younes, a Kurdish administration official, stressed the need to include “all components of Syrian society.” Syria’s Kurds led the US-backed fight against the Islamic State (IS) in northern and eastern Syria, expelling the jihadist group from their last major redoubt in the country in March, 2019. Given their sacrifice, the U.S., and the international community owes them a role in drafting the constitution for Syria, and much more. Under the Baathist regimes of the Assads, the Kurds of Syria, long marginalized, have suffered systemic discrimination, repression, and Arabization. Among the egregious forms of inequity are the makings of 500,000 Syrian Kurds stateless, which amounts to about 15% of the Kurdish population in Syria, estimated to be over 3 million Kurds are the largest minority in Syria. It means that these stateless Kurds live in a legal vacuum and are deprived of fundamental rights. Syria’s Kurds have largely stayed out of Syria’s eight-year civil war except for fighting the IS with U.S. aerial support, and 2,000 special forces members. Instead, they setup their own institutions in areas under their control. They have been previously sidelined from UN-led peace talks as well as a parallel Russian-backed negotiation track, mainly due to objections by Turkey, which considers them to be terrorists. Unfortunately for the Kurds, theirs is an internal self-defeating rivalry rather than a defeat in the battlefield. In fact, in the battlefield, Syrian-Kurds proved to be heroic and triumphant. Internally however, there are three political forces pulling at Syrian-Kurdish society. The following quote is directly from loose lips liar-Biden's campaign website and cannot be written off as disinformation or fake news. Shotgun loose lips liar-Joe, who once advised people to discharge shotguns recklessly to frighten prowlers, says, "Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun. That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children." New York's governor, scumbag-Andrew Cuomo, said similarly in a 2013 speech, "No one hunts with an assault rifle. No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer." Both of these gentlemen have told a literal truth with the intent to deceive. scumbag-Cuomo is literally correct; no ethical hunter would take the shot if he thought he needed more than one bullet to turn a deer into venison. loose lips liar-Biden also is telling a literal truth with the intent to deceive; it is illegal in many if not most jurisdictions to hunt birds with any kind of rifle because a bullet that misses can come down literally miles away. Deer and ducks do not, however, invade people's homes at night, rob banks and convenience stores, rape women, shoot up the Pulse Nightclub, Fort Hood, a Black church, or a Pittsburgh synagogue, or go abroad in armed gangs such as MS-13 to terrorize innocent people. Semiautomatic rifles, which scumbag-Cuomo mischaracterizes as "assault rifles," are extremely useful against violent felons. The laws of most if not all jurisdictions, including New York, permit their use in these situations. Yes, even NY has a castle doctrine: "…the actor is under no duty to retreat if he or she is: in his or her dwelling and not the initial aggressor." Listen to an Expert, Not Politicians. Massad Ayoob is a nationally-known law enforcement instructor who will be the first person to tell you that use of deadly force is an absolute last resort, as described in his book In the Gravest Extreme. He has testified successfully as an expert witness in numerous defensive shootings. Ayoob's expert testimony against the city of San Francisco is worth sharing with anybody who still believes that ordinary citizens do not need 15-round handgun magazines or 30-round rifle magazines...

Approved Marines for Activation On US Soil

Shipley, Director, Manpower Plans and Policy on October 3, 2019... which authorizes the rapid activation of military forces to protect civil authorities in response to a “major disaster or emergency.” The order titled Manpower Guidance for Activation and Deactivation of Reserve Component (RC) Marines Ordered to Active Duty ISO Defense Support of Civil Authorities details how Marines will be called to “active duty” upon orders from the U.S. Navy. Shockingly, one of the first paragraphs details how it “will come with little warning.” Requests for Federal assistance will come with little warning. As required, the Marine Corps must rapidly mobilize RC units and personnel IAW this MARADMIN in order to respond to threats in the Homeland. Translated, this means that martial law may be coming sooner than later as the U.S. government appears to actually be anticipating nothing short of an impending civil war, asteroid strike, earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, or some other type of similar but expected disaster scenario...

My question for you is: If you were around at the time, how many government restrictions and taxes would you have urged to avoid the predicted calamity? As reported in The New York Times (Aug. 1969) Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich warned: “The trouble with almost all environmental problems is that by the time we have enough evidence to convince people, you’re dead. We must realize that unless we’re extremely lucky, everybody will disappear in a cloud of blue steam in 20 years.” In 2000, David Viner, a senior research scientist at University of East Anglia’s climate research unit, predicted that in a few years winter snowfall would become “a very rare and exciting event. Children just aren’t going to know what snow is.” In 2004, the U.S. Pentagon warned President George W. Bush that major European cities would be beneath rising seas. Britain will be plunged into a Siberian climate by 2020. In 2008, scumbag-Al Gore predicted that the polar ice cap would be gone in a mere 10 years. A U.S. Department of Energy study led by the U.S. Navy predicted the Arctic Ocean would experience an ice-free summer by 2016. In May 2014, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius declared during a joint appearance with Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry that “we have 500 days to avoid climate chaos.” Peter Gunter, professor at North Texas State University, predicted in the spring 1970 issue of The Living Wilderness: Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. at Taxpayer Expense – Now Serve

Besides the hefty extra expense involved in the fact that Halal certification organizations use some of their funds for terrorism... That should be unacceptable for the parents of kids in the Dearborn School System. They could end up paying for the bullet that kills their child. It is actually unconstitutional I believe. They are promoting Islam over Christianity and Judaism. What if schools were to reverse that and promote Christianity over Islam? CAIR would sue the school and scumbag-Adam Schiff would call for Trump’s impeachment. Dearborn Public Schools bragged about overhauling its public school menus to make them ‘more diverse’ and by ‘more diverse’ they mean Sharia compliant. All the meat served in Dearborn will now be halal. Christian Crackdown? Students Must

Submit Speeches, Swear Oath to School

Anyone who delivers a speech at an event hosted by the school district in Appleton, Wisconsin, must submit the speech in advance and then swear under oath they will not deviate from the script. And that includes students.

“The opportunity to speak at a school event is a privilege, not a right,” the Appleton Area School District wrote in a statement. “These guidelines do not restrict or regulate individual or regulate individual speech or expression. However, individual speech and expression may still be subject to other restrictions or limitations that are imposed by law or that the District may lawfully enforce through other policies, rules or practices.”

The new regulations were implemented after a Christian school-board member invoked the name of Jesus Christ during a graduation ceremony last June.

Rev. Alvin Dupree told students to “never succumb to the pressure of being politically correct,” the Post Crescent reported. He also changed the district’s prepared statement of “best wishes” to “God bless.”

The new guidelines require all speakers, including students, to submit their entire speech in writing two weeks in advance of delivery.

First Liberty Institute, one of the nation’s leading religious-liberty law firms, told Starnes Media it stands ready to assist any students who become targets of hostility because of their religious beliefs.

“Students who earn the right to address their peers are free to reference their faith as a part of those remarks,” First Liberty Institute attorney Jeremy Dys told Starnes Media. “Any school district that requires students to submit their speeches for pre-approval must be careful they do not force students to secularize their private remarks to satisfy government censors.”

Speakers are also not permitted to wear “jewelry, clothing or accessories that reasonably could be understood to communicate a message to the audience when the speech is given.”

Does that mean students will be banned from delivering a speech if they are wearing a cross necklace or a T-shirt that references the Almighty?

But the swearing of an oath is perhaps the most disturbing part of Appleton’s crackdown on free speech.

“Speakers that submit proposed speeches shall be required to certify that they will deliver the speech as written, except for minor and immaterial variances from the text of their proposal,” the district wrote. “Certification shall be in writing and shall be sworn under oath.”

I wonder if they are going to make folks swear that oath on a copy of the Holy Bible or a copy of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals?

The oath must be signed by student and adult speakers and must be witnessed and sealed by a notary.

The oath states, among other things, “that I am affirming the statements to be true and correct under penalty of law.”

First Liberty’s Dys blasted the school district’s draconian speech oath.

“The only oath these school officials should require of anyone is that they uphold the First Amendment to the US Constitution,” he told Starnes Media.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, an organization that targets and bullies Christians, praised the school district’s crackdown on free speech.

“We think the district did the right thing,” FFRF attorney Ryan Jayne told the newspaper. “We expect there won’t be any problems with (Rev.) Dupree speaking at district events in the future, because under these guidelines we don’t expect that he’ll be allowed to speak.”

And that’s exactly the point the school district is trying to make. Their new policies and procedures are meant to silence people of faith — specifically Christians.

Many of our public schools have been turned into indoctrination centers for left-wing propaganda. Every freedom-loving American should be appalled by the actions of the Appleton Area School District.

Heaven forbid the day comes when an American teenager or a pastor is dragged off the stage by security forces simply for uttering the name of Jesus Christ at a graduation ceremony.   ~The Patriot Post
