{ foxnews.com } ~ The State Department's plan to evacuate the nearly 400 Americans quarantined aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan makes "perfect medical sense,"... Fox News medical correspondent Dr. Marc Siegel said Sunday. "I want to applaud the administration and President Trump for evacuating close to 400 passengers," Siegel told "Fox & Friends Weekend." About 380 Americans were aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which has docked at Yokohama, a port city southwest of Tokyo. Passengers and crew were subjected to a 14-day quarantine aboard the ship that's expected to end Wednesday. So far, more than 280 people from the ship, including 46 Americans, have tested positive for the coronavirus that began in China, after doctors found 67 new cases Saturday. On Saturday, the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo sent a letter to American citizens aboard the ship informing them the State Department  was sending chartered flights to take them to the United States; the flights left Tokyo on Monday. Passengers who opted to take the chartered aircraft will be subjected to a second 14-day quarantine in the United States at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif., or Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, officials said, adding that no symptomatic or infected passengers would be allowed to board the flights." Theoretically," Siegel said, "this quarantine could have worked with everyone isolated in their rooms, but it didn’t work, and not only that, some of the people who have medical conditions are frail and elderly. And so, the idea of airlifting them home and then imposing another two weeks of quarantine makes perfect medical sense."...

Democrats Hold Secret Meeting
with Iranian Foreign Minister

{ frontpagemag.com } ~ Democratic Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, along with several of his Senate Democrat colleagues, reportedly met secretly with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif... during the Munich Security Conference last week. The Federalist raised the question whether that “would mean Murphy had done the type of secret coordination with foreign leaders to potentially undermine the U.S. government that he accused Trump officials of doing as they prepared for Trump’s administration.” Senator Murphy tweeted that he was simply engaging in a dialogue with Zarif, which he claimed was within Congress’s authority as “a co-equal branch to the executive.” While acknowledging for the record that “no one in Congress can negotiate with Zarif or carry official U.S. government messages,” Murphy declared that “there is value in having a dialogue.” He added, “It’s dangerous not to talk to adversaries, esp amidst a cycle of escalation.” That all depends on what Murphy and his cohorts had to say to the Iranian foreign minister behind closed doors. According to Senator Murphy’s own telling, he used his meeting with Zarif to urge Iranian action to control Iran’s proxies in Iraq, release American citizens being unlawfully detained in Iran, and end the Houthi blockage of humanitarian aid in Yemen. That sounds innocent enough, if Murphy was telling the truth about everything that was said during his tête-à-tête with Zarif. But there is no reason to take Murphy’s self-serving account as representing anywhere near a complete record of the meeting. Let’s see a full transcript or contemporaneous notes of the private discussions with Zarif, if any exist, along with a list of all Americans present. For example, did John hanio-Kerry participate? He was spotted walking in the vicinity of the conference site. What was he doing there in the first place? hanio-Kerry, let’s remember, had previously conducted, while a private citizen, his own unauthorized shadow diplomacy with Zarif to try and keep the disastrous scumbag/liar-nObama administration nuclear deal with Iran alive. In Senator Murphy’s public remarks at the same Munich Security Conference where he held his private meeting with Zarif on the sidelines, Murphy made no bones about describing himself as a “critic” of President Trump’s confrontational policies towards the Iranian regime. On certain key points, Murphy expressed views closer to the Iranian position than to the official position of the U.S. government. For example, Murphy criticized the Trump administration’s taking sides with Saudi Arabia against the Iranian regime, even while conceding that the Iranian regime is considered a U.S. adversary while Saudi Arabia is considered an ally...  https://cms.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/02/democrats-hold-secret-meeting-iranian-foreign-joseph-klein

Justice Department Worried About
Barr Exposing Them

by theteapartydaily.com ~ There are playing both sides of the fence in the Department of Justice. The number one thing that everyone inside that department is afraid of is exposure... Corruption has been shown to the American people at every corner of Washington. Still, only handfuls of people realize what is happening. It is coming to pass, the swamp is being drained, and President Trump and Attorney General William Barr are in charge. Yes, Trump’s tweets can get under every politician’s skin. Even Barr was upset last week, but it is all water under the bridge. Barr knows Trump is excited when he tweets, and the excitement grows as we all witness these historical moments come to pass before our eyes. Barr knows he has everything he needs to complete his investigations. When he testifies next month, everything will be in place. This is why the DOJ is shaking up a storm at this moment. It is coming, and it is coming quickly! Not long after Trump’s tweets last week concerning the DOJ, Nicola T. Hanna, who is the US attorney from Los Angeles, California, emailed this message to 270 lawyers. He wrote, “I am proud of the work you do.” Others within the Justice Department sent messages in the same manner to the lawyers and their staff members. One wrote, “All I have to say is keep doing the right things for the right reasons.” This drew up red flags that over 10,000 lawyers need reassurance. But for what? Attorney General William Barr is uncovering mass corruption from the Stone case to the loose lips liar-Bidens, and Ukraine. All the president did was put in his two cents, which angered Barr as more of a distraction, but no one can really blame the president.  Neither Barr nor President Trump is wrong for their reactions. However, with Barr overturning stones and tables, people are resigning before they get caught. Maybe if any of them have dealings with scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton and the election, it would not be surprising if the suicide rate skyrockets...   https://theteapartydaily.com/exclusive-justice-department-worried-about-barr-exposing-them/

Assange lawyers say Trump offered
a pardon if he ‘played ball’

by personalliberty.com ~ Julian Assange’s lawyers told a London court that they will provide evidence that U.S. President Donald Trump was prepared to offer the WikiLeaks founder a pardon... if he “played ball” about leaks of Democratic Party emails. At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, Assange’s lawyer Edward Fitzgerald asked the court to allow more witness statements during the extradition hearing that will start next week. The new information includes a witness statement by Jen Robinson, another of Assange’s lawyers, that deals with the alleged offer made by then-Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, he told the court. The witness statement will address “Mr. Rohrabacher going to see Mr. Assange, and saying on instructions of the president, offering pardon or some other way out if Mr. Assange played ball and said the Russians had nothing to do with” the leaks, Fitzgerald said. The Democratic National Committee has accused Trump of conspiring with Russia and WikiLeaks to hack then-presidential opponent scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s emails in the run-up to the 2016 election. A U.S. district judge tossed a lawsuit brought by the DNC last year, but questions continue about Trump’s relationship with Russia. The U.S. has charged Assange with 18 counts related to endangering national security by conspiring to obtain and disclose classified information. He’s accused of working with former U.S. Army intelligence officer Chelsea Manning to get classified documents from databases containing about 90,000 Afghanistan War-related activity reports, 400,000 Iraq War-related reports and 250,000 State Department cables. The Australian has been in London’s Belmarsh prison since he was evicted from the Ecuadorian Embassy where he sought refuge after skipping bail in April to avoid questioning in a Swedish sexual assault case. The case was dropped in November after Swedish prosecutors said the allegations had been weakened as the memories of witnesses faded. Assange appeared via video link and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. His extradition trial will begin next week before adjourning until May for a further three-week hearing.

Islamic reform? Top Muslim university says no

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Largely unknown to and unreported in the West, a large, two-day conference was recently hosted Jan. 27–28 by Al Azhar University in Egypt and attended by the leading clerics and politicians from 46 nations... Titled "Renewal in Islamic Thought," it is currently the most significant response to Egyptian president Sisi's calls for reform, which he forcibly made on January 1, 2015. The conference focused on the most pressing topics affecting the Islamic — and in some cases non-Islamic — world, including women's rights, government and society, and the question of "radicalization" and the emergence of jihadi terror groups such as the Islamic State. I've watched many of the panels with great interest, and in the coming weeks, I hope to remark on some of these, but for now I wish to discuss what can be learned from the closing remarks of the grand imam of Al Azhar and Pope Francis's good friend, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb. First, he — in agreement with the other clerics present — closed the door on the possibility for reform on a great number of issues: "Renewal," he announced, "is in no way possible concerning those texts which are irrefutable in their certainty and stability; as for those texts that are not entirely credible, they are subject to ijtihad reinterpretation, especially based on changing circumstances." In plain language, the teachings of those Islamic texts that are deemed entirely reliable — chief among them, the Koran as well as certain hadith, including, according to mainstream Sunnism, all nine volumes of Sahih Bukhari — are not subject to any change; only those secondary Islamic texts, including many other volumes of hadith, the sira (biography of Muhammad), and other works of history, are open to debate. The problem is that some — many — of the worst teachings plaguing the Islamic and non-Islamic worlds are derived directly from those texts deemed entirely reliable.  The Koran, for example, very clearly permits the sexual enslavement of non-Muslim women, the beating of one's wife, and polygamy. The Koran calls on Muslims to have hate for and when convenient to war on non-Muslims just because they are non-Muslims...

scumbag/liar-nObama on Trump Economy: 'You Didn't Build That'

Nate Jackson:  Remember when Barack scumbag/liar-nObama used to blame George W. Bush for the bad economy that persisted years into his presidency? Neither does scumbag/liar-nObama. Now he’s trying to take credit for Donald Trump’s economy.

“Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history,” scumbag/liar-nObama boasted on “Presidents’ Day.”

First, we’ll stipulate something that isn’t said often enough: In America’s free-market economy, presidents have less impact on the economy than they take credit or receive blame for. Presidents are not kings or central-planning despots, even if, like scumbag/liar-nObama, they try to be. It’s also true that every president claims credit for the good and blames the other guy for the bad. That’s politics.

But let’s also set the record straight — again.

The “Great Recession” of 2008-2009 was seeded in the 1990s with Democrat policies regarding mortgage lending. The bubble that created took more than a decade to burst, but when it did, the crisis of confidence  yielded the worst recession since the Great Depression.

It’s also arguable that, unpopular and controversial as it was, Bush prevented a worse catastrophe by working with the Democrat Congress to bail out major banks. That decision certainly remains open for criticism, but scumbag/liar-nObama, to coin a phrase, didn’t build that.

What scumbag/liar-nObama did build was the slowest recovery in U.S. history. When the economy is, as he said, “near the bottom,” the only place to go is up. But it took a long time to move up because scumbag/liar-nObama increased federal spending dramatically, passing out “stimulus” cash to his favored constituency groups while promising “shovel-ready jobs” that never really materialized. Where the economy did grow, such as the energy sector, it was despite scumbag/liar-nObama’s best efforts to stifle that growth with draconian regulations and higher taxes. scumbag/liar-nObama oversaw two terms without a single year exceeding 3% economic growth — the average was just 2.1%. That was unprecedented, and it was appallingly bad for a recovery.

It is true that since scumbag/liar-nObama signed the Recovery Act America has seen uninterrupted job and economic growth. Even Leftmedia “fact-checkers” would rake him over the coals if that weren’t the case.

Yet in 2016, there were persistent rumblings of another recession as the economy slowed to a crawl. The likely reason that didn’t come to pass is Trump’s election. As his campaign press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, rightly argued, “President Trump reversed every single failed scumbag/liar-nObama-era economic policy, and with it, reversed the floundering scumbag/liar-nObama/loose lips liar-Biden economy.”

Trump grossly overstates the case when he claims, as he did in his State of the Union Address, that “our economy is the best it has ever been.” But his policies of reducing taxes and regulation removed significant obstacles to economic growth and ensured that we are, to coin another phrase, better off today than we were four years ago.

That’s really the point of scumbag/liar-nObama’s empty boast. He knows Democrats are in trouble this year, so, without a Democrat-induced recession in sight to derail Trump’s momentum, the best scumbag/liar-nObama can do is claim credit where it isn’t due.
