"I hope that he chooses to participate in the inquiry, directly or through counsel, as other presidents have done before him.” The Democratic congressman sent a letter to Trump inviting him to attend and to let the panel know "as soon as possible" if he plans to make an appearance. The proceedings will tackle the “constitutional grounds for presidential impeachment.” Under a resolution dictating the terms of the proceedings, the hearing will permit White House lawyers to participate and defend Trump, who Democrats believe abused his office by seeking Ukraine’s help investigating former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee. scumbag liar-Nadler said the hearing will "explore the framework put in place to respond to serious allegations of impeachable misconduct like those against President Trump. The claims came during testimony by Kuwati-born Canadian businessman Alan Bender, who was giving evidence in the trial of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani. The Qatari emir's brother stands accused of ordering his American bodyguard to murder two people, and of holding an American citizen hostage. His deposition, obtained by Al Arabiya English, was authenticated by the attorney for the plaintiffs, according to the publication. Speaking from Toronto by video link, Bender told the Florida District Court that he met with Qatar’s Secretary to the Emir for Security Affairs Mohammad bin Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Masnad and two other senior Qatari officials. According to his sworn deposition, the three officials told him: “If it wasn't for our cash, worthless-Ilhan Omar would be just another black Somali refugee in America collecting welfare and serving tables on weekends." Bender testified that the officials asked him to recruit American politicians and journalists as Qatari assets, and that when he objected, was told that several prominent figures were already on the payroll. worthless-Omar was described as the "jewel in the crown," he said. { foxnews.com } ~ Former White House counsel Don McGahn must appear before Congress pursuant to a subpoena issued earlier this year, a Washington, D.C. federal judge ruled late Monday... in a major setback to President Trump's effort to keep aides from testifying before House impeachment investigators.If McGahn wanted to assert executive privilege to avoid testifying, U.S. District Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson ruled, he would need to appear before Congress and do it himself, likely on a question-by-question basis. It remained possible, Jackson said, that the "requested information is itself subject to withholding consistent with the law on the basis of a recognized privilege" -- but, "as far as the duty to appear is concerned, this Court holds that Executive branch officials are not absolutely immune from compulsory congressional process." A senior Justice Department official told Fox News the department would appeal Judge Jackson's decision and seek a stay pending that appeal. Should a higher court uphold the ruling, it could set a binding precedent affecting future disputes between Congress and the White House involving executive privilege, which generally allows the president and high-level officials to refuse to answer certain questions that might impair deliberative processes or compromise presidential communications and the separation of powers. The House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed McGahn on April 22, but the White House quickly blocked his appearance. Monday's ruling had apparent ramifications for Democrats seeking to compel other top White House officials to testify as part of their ongoing impeachment inquiry concerning the president's Ukraine policy. The panel has been probing possible obstruction of justice by the president in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe. "I am pleased the court has recognized that the Trump Administration has no grounds to withhold critical witness testimony from the House during its impeachment inquiry," Judiciary Committee Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said in a statement. { americanthinker.com } ~ After reading about the shabby effort to advance the impeachment of President Trump over the last two weeks I think it is time for a civics lesson. Maybe that is necessary because they don’t teach civics in the schools and universities anymore... They teach social justice. And kids today need to advertise their social justice activism if they want to get into the Tiger Moms’ favorite universities. Let us have a quick refresher on civics. Our Founders lived in a time that worried about kings and religion. As rich commoners they wanted to curb the power of kings and nobles, and they knew from the experience of the Reformation and the Thirty Years War that religion and politics were a lethal combination. The Founders thought that if you wanted to avoid kings overdoing their appetite for loot and plunder and religious fanatics overdoing their appetite for moral rectification you needed to separate the powers of the world. Their idea was to start with separating political powers, so that no single king or politician could concentrate all the powers of the state to himself. As Montesquieu said: I have a plan for that.Then the Founders decided in the First Amendment to prevent a state church, to make it a little more difficult to “legislate morality.” Legislating morality is a moral imperative when Our Guys do it; it is a crime against humanity when the Other Guys do it. Of course, anyone with a totalitarian appetite to change the world, whether left or right, finds the separation of powers to be a useless and “obsolete” appendage, according to Jean-François Revel. On the contrary, he writes in The Totalitarian Temptation, the separation of powers ...is extremely difficult to maintain, it requires a high level of civic consciousness and despite its age it remains the basis of every democracy. Oh! You mean that the ruling class should teach the kiddies all about the Constitution, the separation of powers, and all that dead white male stuff? But none of the Founders’ ideas can work if people think the system is all stitched up by the Other Guys. When people think that the system is closed to them they start to think about rebellion....

Dems Get Cold Feet?Thomas Gallatin: President Donald Trump blasted Democrats and Rep. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff in particular for their partisan impeachment charade in an interview Friday. “I want a trial,” Trump insisted. “There should never be an impeachment. But assuming these people [Democrats] are as sleazy as they are … I want to see Adam Schiff testify about the whistleblower — who’s a fake whistleblower. The one who I want to testify most is ‘scumbag/liar-Shifty Schiff.’” The president added, “It’s very hard for them to impeach me when they have absolutely nothing.”
On Sunday, scumbag/liar-Schiff responded to Trump’s call, asking, “What would I offer in terms of testimony?” Hilariously, he then claimed that if the Republicans were to “go down this road” it would demonstrate their “fundamental lack of seriousness,” making impeachment a “circus like the president would like.” Of course, there’s good reason for scumbag/liar-Schiff to testify — namely that his office coordinated with the “whistleblower” prior to the complaint being filed. scumbag/liar-Schiff needs to be questioned regarding his role in this whole sordid affair. When asked if he would be willing to testify if he were called, scumbag/liar-Schiff predictably demurred, “I don’t want to comment on it.”
So, where does the impeachment play go from here? Recent polling shows that Democrats aren’t winning over Americans, as a clear majority of voters are now opposed to impeaching Trump. It has become clear to most Americans that the Democrats are engaged in a purely partisan effort, no matter how loudly they claim otherwise. Democrats’ repeated calls for Trump’s impeachment began before he was even sworn into office, totally undercutting their insistence that their intention is anything but a calculated hit job aimed at damaging Trump’s reelection bid.
House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi now must scramble to keep Democrats from abandoning the impeachment ship. There are rumors that liar-Pelosi maybe considering backing off holding an impeachment vote, as a trial in the Senate would serve to further expose Democrat shenanigans that are responsible for orchestrating this whole ridiculous affair. The trouble for liar-Pelosi is that if she doesn’t hold a vote, she risks angering her party’s leftist base. It would look exactly like what it would be — a win for Trump.
Next up, the impeachment ball moves to the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler (D-NY), where there will likely be more witnesses called to testify. liar-Pelosi and company will have to move fast if she still intends to hold an impeachment vote before Christmas. ~The Patriot Post
