What the pundits are missing is how President Trump has positioned a myriad of trade dynamics that make EU action unavoidable. This is the fun stuff, so let’s enjoy the details. The current headlines surround President Trump “postponing” a 25% tariff on EU automobiles as an outcome of the major EU manufacturers mostly Germany promising increased investment in their U.S. operations. By itself this would be considered a win for President Trump, but that’s not the whole picture, not even close. What the more broad trade and manufacturing dynamic includes will explain what EU economists are only just now starting to realize. Yes, the major European auto-makers will put more investment into the United States thereby lessening the EU industrial economy; however, the auto decision is not because they are presenting a magnanimous benefit of sorts, but rather it is a foregone conclusion; an unavoidable reality due to a previous trade agreement construct. Within the USMCA agreement President Trump negotiated a win-win-win for Mexico, Canada and the U.S. through a requirement that 75 percent of North American auto content must originate from manufacturing within North America. Failure to reach that threshold means the auto company will be subject to a 25 percent tariff to bring the product to the U.S. market....

{ bongino.com } ~ Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley is just now revealing that both former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and former Chief of Staff John Kelly tried to undermine President Trump while serving in his administration... Haley makes the disturbing claim in her new book, “With all Due Respect,” and says the two former cabinet officials tried to recruit her to implement their agenda. “Kelly and Tillerson confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country,” she writes in the upcoming memoir.“ It was their decisions, not the president’s, that were in the best interests of America, they said. The president didn’t know what he was doing.” The Daily Mail reports that Haley “described Tillerson as ‘exhausting’, and said the secretary of state told her that ‘people would die’ if Trump went unchecked.” In an interview which aired yesterday on CBS, Haley said “Instead of saying that to me, they should’ve been saying that to the president, not asking me to join them on their sidebar plan,’ she said. She continued, “It should’ve been: ‘Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don’t like what he’s doing. But to undermine a president is really a very dangerous thing. And it goes against the Constitution, and it goes against what the American people want. And it was offensive.” While Tillerson has yet to respond for comment, Kelly told CBS, ’If by resistance and stalling she means putting a staff process in place … to ensure the president knew all the pros and cons of what policy decision he might be contemplating so he could make an informed decision, then guilty as charged.’ White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham responded to Haley’s revelations this morning, telling Fox News that “undermining a president is dangerous and it does go against the Constitution and it does go against the American people, which is something that’s happening at Congress right now...but I wouldn’t know about that conversation she’s purporting to have in the book.”.

{ westernjournal.com } ~ A star witness in Democratic California Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff’s impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump expressed skepticism about information collected by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele... according to The Daily Caller. Dr. Fiona Hill, who served as the White House’s top adviser on Russia until July, centered a portion of her Oct. 14 closed-door testimony on the infamous dossier compiled by Steele. The Steele dossier contained accusations of a conspiracy between the Russian government and then-candidate Donald Trump. It was widely considered to be riddled with false intelligence, and many of its claims remain unsubstantiated even after the conclusion of the investigation. Hill told lawmakers that Steele was desperate to “drum up business” and obtain work, which made him vulnerable to be misled by his Russian sources. Upon reading the report, Hill said she was concerned that “Steele could have been played.” She also speculated that the Russians’ move to feed material to Steele was motivated more by revenge than by an interest in helping out Trump. “Because if you also think about it, the Russians would have an ax to grind against Steele given the job that he had previously,” she said. “And if he started going back through his old contacts and asking about, that would be a perfect opportunity for people to feed some kind of misinformation.” Hill admitted that she was “shocked” when she discovered that Steele, whom she had worked with during her time as a national intelligence officer from 2006 to 2009, was the author behind the suspicious report. She even testified that she had first-person knowledge of Steele’s desperation, noting that he “was clearly very interested in building up a client base” when the two met in 2016. “And this is why I was concerned about the Steele report because that is a vulnerability,” Hill said. “Christopher Steele going out and looking for information. He’s obviously out there soliciting information,” she continued. “What a great opportunity to, basically, you know, present him with information that he’s looking for that can be couched some truth and some disinformation.”....

Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). “Let me just say this,” Homan told host Larry O’Connor during an episode of his “Examining Politics” podcast. “When I do return to New York and if Senator Gillibrand is still around, she won’t be around because I will take her on.”Homan’s remarks were in response to O’Connor’s inquiry as to whether Homan would be interested in replacing Rep. Pete King (R-NY), who announce that after 14 terms in Congress he would not be seeking reelection when his current term expires. Homan, who was born in New York, noted that he was not currently a resident of the Empire state, but will likely be when he retires, similar to former Secretary of State scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton, who previously held the United States Senate seat. Gillibrand has been an outspoken opponent of the ICE and one of the first Democratic lawmakers to call for abolishing the immigration enforcement agency. “I believe we need to protect families who need help, and ICE isn’t doing that,” the New York senator said in June 2018. “It has become a deportation force. We need to separate immigration issues from criminal justice. We need to abolish ICE, start over and build something that actually works.” Gillibrand received widespread backlash after she continued to promote ICE’s abolishment. She subsequently walked back some of her comments that she claimed were misconstrued. Mollie Hemingway took the challenge to heart and promptly said the name of the schmuck who “shall not be named.” As the discussion developed on Sunday’s Fox News program, Phillippe Reines asked, “Why hasn’t the press done it? I could say why hasn’t Fox done it? I could say why hasn’t The Federalist done it?” Hemingway, senior editor at The Federalist, did not hesitate to name the whistleblower and she explained that media outlets have long been publishing his name. True enough, yet host Howard Kurtz reacted as if he expected an immediate angry visit from mob enforcers. He said not once, but twice that he wanted to “clarify” that he personally did not know who the whistleblower is, desperately pleading to the camera his mea innocentia. Earlier in the discussion, Kurtz rightfully stated: “Understand that legally there is no prohibition against naming the whistleblower, just against retaliation. Maybe you think he is a partisan, a hack or a never-Trumper, but as I said, it would send a message to future whistleblowers that this person can be outed just because their name is leaked to the press and that might be true in a Democratic administration.” “I think people should be concerned about protecting people that are in the public news,” Hemingway replied. “But the most important thing is that the media should be about sharing information that is in the public interest. And there’s no question that this is in the public interest.” She went on to point out the ludicrous double dealing at work in the national media. “We are not seeing this kind of concern that the media has for the whistleblower that they have had for other people. You had CNN doxxing a grandmother because they didn’t like what she put on Facebook, filming her on her front lawn. You have NBC recently outing an American spy who was Russian. You have had the New York Times out a CIA station chief in Iran.” “And Real Clear Investigations has identified a man named Eric Ciaramella as the whistleblower,” said the Federalist editor, “so it’s already out there. Iran Mistakenly Attempts to Bully Trump Into
Lifting Sanctions
Political Editors: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced this week that Iran will double its uranium-enrichment program in violation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) — a.k.a. the Iran nuclear deal. President Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. from JCPOA, which was cobbled together by the Obama administration and also signed by China, Russia, and the European Union in 2015. In doing so, Trump called it a terrible deal that ultimately did nothing to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Trump then leveled sanctions against the rogue nation and encouraged EU countries to follow suit. Iran, to no one’s surprise, had been in violation of the agreement all along.
Rouhani’s threat is clearly aimed at getting the EU to pressure the U.S. into lifting the sanctions that are currently crippling his nation’s economy. As The Wall Street Journal observes, “The Iranian strategy has been to escalate its violations of the deal step by step, hoping to intimidate Mr. Trump and divide the U.S. from Europe.”
But with Iran now in open defiance of the deal, leaders in Germany, France, and the UK will be hard pressed not to side with the U.S. In fact, following Iran’s Sept. 14 attack on Saudi oil fields, European leaders called on Iran to “accept negotiation on a long-term framework for its nuclear programme as well as on issues related to regional security, including its missiles programme and other means of delivery.”
Trump wants any new deal “to limit Iran’s ballistic missile development, allow unlimited inspections of suspect nuclear sites, and remove the sunset clauses that allow restrictions on Iran to expire.” (Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s biggest mistake, among many, was agreeing to allow the restrictions against Iran’s nuclear development program to expire.)
Iran’s saber-rattling smacks of desperation, and it’s a clear indication that Trump’s efforts to pressure the regime are working — even as the U.S. plans to introduce a fresh round of sanctions against advisors to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. ~The Patriot Post
