She initially had been a leading scumbag/liar-nObama preference for the Supreme Court... but her name was not submitted because it was determined that she never would pass Senate confirmation owing to her extreme leftist leanings. Karlan is so left-wing that scumbag/liar-nObama instead selected Sonia Sotomayor as a less extreme nominee. 2. After representing Edith (Edie) Windsor in attacking the scumbag/liar-Clinton administration’s Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), Pamela Karlan boasted that she gave Edie “a mug with pictures from the argument.… It’s got a photo of the White House lit up in the rainbow colors on the second anniversary of the decision in United States v. Windsor, when the Supreme Court issued its decision in Obergefell v. Hodges making marriage equality the law of the land.” 3. Speaking at the 2014 LGBT Pride Month Celebration, Pamela Karlan said, “Sometimes, as I work here at the scumbag/liar-nObama Civil Rights Division for the equality of LGBT people, but also for the rights of people of color, of Muslims, of First Americans and of immigrants, I actually think we’re pretty lucky.… If only people who are unconnected with other civil rights struggles could one day wake up to discover that their children are black, their relatives are undocumented, or their friends are poor, just as they wake to find that those folks often are gay, what a different world this might be.” 4. On January 3, 2013, George Will — the ultimate NeverTrumper — published a blistering attack on Pamela Karlan: Today’s American public does not share Karlan’s nostalgia for the Warren court, which she says was “optimistic about the possibility of politics.” Karlan subscribes to the progressive axiom that the cure for the ills of democracy is democracy, meaning elections. She sees little need for courts to protect against what the Founders feared — liberty-threatening excesses of majorities. With a true progressive’s impatience with the crux of the Constitution, the separation of powers, Karlan wants the court to consider Congress “a full partner in seeking to address the nation’s pressing problems.” But often our institutions preserve liberty by being rivals rather than collaborators. She abhors the conservative justices’ “combination of institutional distrust — the court is better at determining constitutional meaning — and substantive distrust — congressional power must be held in check.” Clearly she thinks Congress would be “better” at judging the limits of its own power. This fits her assumption that restraints on its power are presumptively anti-democratic. She concludes, “For if the justices disdain us, how ought we to respond?” Her pronoun radiates democratic sentimentality — “us” conflates the citizenry and Congress. Today, just 18 percent of the citizenry approves of Congress’ performance. What becomes of Karlan’s argument when the conservative justices’ distrust of Congress, for which she disdains them as anti-democratic, is exceeded by the public’s distrust of Congress?....

{ spectator.org } ~ To begin at the beginning, my alter ego and braino super pal Judah M. Friedman and I are riding around glorious Los Angeles in the rain. In our woolly Jewish heads, we’re trying to digest some things... Two heads are sometimes better than one, and this just might be such a time. The MSM keeps answering GOP criticism of the scumbag liar-Nadler Committee hearings by saying, “They’re just investigative hearings. They’re just elected representatives seeking the truth and whether or not that truth contains an impeachable offense. It’s an election year and legitimate candidates are running for high office. Why shouldn’t Mr. scumbag liar-Nadler and his goons go on the attack, especially if it helps a distinguished POTUS candidate like the estimable loose lips liar-Joe Biden?” Well, here from our highly partisan but still secretly independent brains come a few thoughts about why it’s not so darned right. For one thing, is loose lips liar-Joe Biden really a legitimate candidate? I mean, we mean, he’s obviously a nice guy. He’s from one of my favorite states, Delaware. But there’s some wiring missing. He nibbles on his wife’s finger while waiting to speak. He confuses New Hampshire and Vermont relative to where he’s speaking in the next few minutes. He had a hard time knowing what to say, for example telling a lengthy anecdote about how, where he lived as a youth and when he lived there, young boys and girls would swim up to his lifeguard tower and rub themselves against his legs and stroke his leg hair. I cannot imagine if Mr. Trump recalled such incidents about his youth, how long it would take the MeToo-ers to go after him with a pitchfork and a vat of boiling tar. But when a Democrat “progressive” or whatever he is goes into such stories, it’s all “boys will be boys” and “give the guy a break.” So what’s wrong with that? The better question is, according to my colleague, Judah, “What’s not wrong with that?” Why isn’t he being investigated and tormented the way Judge Kavanaugh was? Politics works in mysterious ways. Or take the hearings today, Wednesday, December 4, 2019. The witnesses were four major hitter legal scholars from top-drawer law schools. But even though liar-Nancy Pelosi had promised that the hearings would be nonpartisan, three of the four witnesses were and are Democrats. The fourth was supposedly independent but said he had voted Democrat for president since he was a lad. He was, by the way, a fine witness. Name is Turley. The other three were eating up Trump’s escargots for lunch and dinner. When Professor Turley made the absolutely unexceptionable point that Mr. scumvag liar-Nadler was rushing things, he was blasted to atoms by the MSM. So much for thoughtful scholarship. What’s right with this portrait of the legal system and the courts? Not a thing. It’s all a partisan witch hunt, and we’ve seen way too many of those since November 2016. We’ll be keeping track, and we’ll get back to you with more of these relics of New England in another era..

It’s what you would expect of a rushed report after two weeks of hearsay and opinion testimony... full of unsupported conclusions based upon faulty assumptions. Garbage assumptions lead to garbage conclusions. Below is a list of several key assumptions scumbag/liar-Schiff totally failed to support in the report. 1. If You Believe Ukraine Interfered in the 2016 Election, You Must Believe Russia Didn’t scumbag/liar-Schiff wrote, “The President demanded that the newly-elected Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, publicly announce investigations … into a discredited theory that it was Ukraine, not Russia, that interfered in the 2016 presidential election.” scumbag/liar-Schiff presented no evidence supporting the assumption that believing Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election requires one to believe Russia didn’t. scumbag/liar-Schiff attributed this finding to the intelligence community, writing, “The U.S. Intelligence Community had unanimously determined that Russia, not Ukraine, interfered in the 2016 election to help the candidacy of Donald Trump.” When did the intelligence community unanimously conclude that Ukraine didn’t interfere in the 2016 election? scumbag/liar-Schiff provides no evidence for that claim because it simply is not true. 2. Ukraine Election Interference Is a ‘Discredited’ Theory scumbag/liar-Schiff wrote, “Witnesses unanimously testified that President Trump’s claims about former Vice President loose lips liar-Biden and alleged Ukrainian interference in the 2016 U.S. election have been discredited.” Of course, these witnesses generally lacked firsthand knowledge or claimed to and couldn’t really confirm or refute the allegations. scumbag/liar-Schiff simply declared the Ukrainian interference theory to be “discredited” without addressing any specific evidence of that. Actually, several operations to support scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton in 2016 originated in Ukraine. According to New York Times reporting, a Ukraine court ruled that Ukrainian prosecutors illegally leaked “that a pro-Russian political party had earmarked payments for Mr. Manafort from an illegal slush fund. Mr. Manafort resigned from the campaign a week later.” Politico reported: Ukrainian government officials tried to help scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped scumbag/liar-Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found. A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia. 3. Trump Pursued an Investigation into a ‘Discredited’ Claim About the loose lips liar-Bidens ...4. Trump Wanted to Investigate Ukraine’s 2016 Election Interference to Help Him Win 2020 ...5. The Only Reason Trump Wanted to investigate the loose lips liar-Bidens Was to Help Him Win Reelection — Which Is Impeachable....

{ jpost.com } ~ Israel and the Czech Republic have signed a security agreement to sell advanced aerial radar systems in a deal worth over NIS 400 million... The multi-million shekel deal worth some $125 million signed for the Czech Mobile Air Defense Radar (MADR), will see IAI/ELTA systems provide eight ELM-2084 multi-mission radar (MMR) systems with air surveillance, air defense, and artillery capabilities. The production of the systems will be a joint Israel-Czech project with 70% of the system made in Israel and the other 30% by from Czech industries which will apply to design, manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing and life-time maintenance of the systems. Certain security components will be manufactured locally, including advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) radar modules, as well as auxiliary sub-systems such as trucks and camouflage nets. “The Israeli party will transfer state-of-the-art technology and know-how. The program also includes a substantial contribution from Czech industries, amounting to 30% of the contract value,” read a statement by Israel’s Defense Ministry. The radar system allows for the monitoring, tracking and interception of several airborne projectiles simultaneously at an altitude between 100 meters to 3,000 meters (330 to 10,000 feet) and cover a wide area of about 250 kilometers. “The MMR radar is based on state-of-the-art technologies and significantly improves the reliability of aerial image and situational awareness and is able to effectively address a wide range of targets,” said Yoav Turgeman, CEO of ELTA and vice president of IAI. The deal was signed at the Ministry of Defense in Prague on Thursday by Czech Defense Minister Lubomir Metnar, Deputy Minister of Defense Filip Říha and Head of SIBAT, Israel’s Ministry of Defense Export & Defense Cooperation Division Brig.-Gen. (res.) Yair Kulas. The ELM-2084 MMR system is an integral part of the IDF’s aerial defense systems including the David’s Sling and Iron Dome anti-missile defense systems. They will be adapted to operate in accordance with Czech and NATO command and control systems can be incorporated into the command and control systems belonging to the United States....

Explosion strikes Iranian weapons depot in Syria

{ jpost.com } ~ Large explosions were reported at an Iranian base in Al-Bukamal in eastern Syria after unidentified aircraft targeted a weapons depot at the site... according to the Step news agency. A correspondent for Step reported that Iranian militias fired anti-aircraft fire at a reconnaissance aircraft that was spotted shortly before the attack. Shortly afterwards, unidentified aircraft attacked the weapons depot and large explosions were heard and fire could be seen from a distance. No information about the extent of the damage or any casualties has been reported. During a visit to Lisbon, Portugal on Wednesday in which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Netanyahu pointed to Iranian activity in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Gaza and Yemen, and said that Israel is “actively engaged in countering that aggression.” When asked about the recent explosions heard in a Syrian weapons facility, Netanyahu chose to evade the question by saying "I don't comment on these kinds of things." Sites controlled by Iran in the Al-Bukamal area have been targeted multiple times by airstrikes in recent months. A strategic border crossing between Iraq and Syria is located in the border town. In November, the IDF struck tens of targets in Damascus, west of Damascus and the Syrian Golan Heights, belonging both to the regime of Bashar Assad and the Quds Force, within minutes in response to rockets that were launched towards Israel. All the targets were located within 80 km. of Israel’s border. According to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), 23 people, including 16 non-Syrians, most likely Iranians, were killed in the Israeli airstrikes. A senior Israeli defense official acknowledged that there were wounded and a number of Iranian fatalities. Numerous others were wounded, including a young woman who was wounded by shrapnel that hit the suburb of Qudsaya, west of Damascus....

Nate Jackson: House Intelligence Committee Democrats released their 300-page report on their impeachment inquisition so far. It’s riveting reading if you like works of fiction very loosely “based on a true story.” The far more accurate version is the Republican prebuttal.
“President Trump’s scheme subverted U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine and undermined our national security in favor of two politically motivated investigations that would help his presidential reelection campaign,” argue Adam scumbag/liar-Schiff and other House Democrats in their report. Moreover, they aim to bolster their case on “obstruction” by saying, “It would be hard to imagine a stronger or more complete case of obstruction than that demonstrated by the President since the inquiry began.”
Democrats proceed to base their gripes in their longstanding narrative that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. They argue that his Ukraine endeavors were the same kind of corrupt conduct. “In making the decision to move forward, we were struck by the fact that the President’s misconduct was not an isolated occurrence, nor was it the product of a naïve president,” the preface to the report asserts. “Instead, the efforts to involve Ukraine in our 2020 presidential election were undertaken by a President who himself was elected in 2016 with the benefit of an unprecedented and sweeping campaign of election interference undertaken by Russia in his favor, and which the President welcomed and utilized.”
In conclusion, Democrats argue, “The president placed his own personal and political interests above the national interests of the United States, sought to undermine the integrity of the U.S. presidential election process, and endangered U.S. national security.”
Baloney. Trump’s only “real” sin is having defeated scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. The fact that he’d like to win again in 2020 is utterly unconscionable to Democrats.
As for “bribery”? George Washington University Law School professor Jonathan Turley is testifying today before the House Judiciary Committee, and he argues that the Democrats’ expansive definition of bribery is historically ignorant and mendacious.
In other news, scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff obtained Rudy Giuliani’s phone records, which include conversations with Devin Nunes, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, as well as journalist John Solomon and others. Clearly, Democrats hope to discredit Nunes with this revelation. Still, The Resurgent’s Erick Erickson puts it in perspective: “I don’t find it outrageous at all that the Democrats got these records. It suggests a level of competence and thoroughness I did not think they possessed. [But] it is remarkable the Democrats have not been able to advance the ball and are flailing about given what all they had.”
Maybe scumbag/liar-Schiff’s phone records would reveal that it wasn’t just his staff colluding with the whistleblower…
And finally, speaking of Nunes, he filed a $435 million defamation lawsuit against CNN Tuesday over its “demonstrably false hit piece” alleging that the congressman had traveled to Vienna in 2018, where he supposedly met former Ukrainian chief prosecutor Viktor Shokin in a bid to dig up dirt on loose lips liar-Joe Biden. None of that is true. “CNN is the mother of fake news,” says the lawsuit. “It must be held accountable.”
