Last week, 2.9 million Hong Kongers voted and pro-democracy candidates won every district but one. That is an increase in turnout of more than 100 percent and a stunning rebuke both of Beijing and of chief executive Carrie Lam, who has failed to respond adequately to the demands of the pro-democracy movement that has disrupted Hong Kong for the past six months. Maps of the city once shaded pro-mainland blue are now pro-liberty yellow. Yes, the vote was symbolic. The councils have little say in the operations of government. But symbols matter. For Hong Kongers to express discontent with their rulers through one of the last vehicles for accountability is no trifle. Beijing was surprised. It had counted on a supposed "silent majority" of voters tired of the upheaval and violence to legitimize the mainland's authority. That was a mistake. The prefabricated copy that Communist propagandists had been ready to spread was abandoned. "The problem is that under the increasingly paranoid regime of Xi Jinping, even these internal reports have become much more geared toward what the leadership wants to hear," writes James Palmer, who a decade ago worked for the pro-China Global Times. Hong Kong is the most visible reminder of the tenuous nature of Communist rule. The city has become a postmodern battleground where masked protesters wield social media and lasers to avoid armor-clad police and facial recognition technology powered by artificial intelligence. When one looks at Hong Kong one sees a possible future where champions of freedom the world over employ desperate measures against the overwhelming resources of a mechanized Leviathan. And now Barr will destroy the Democrat Party after they hit him with a lawsuit you won’t believe... In the past year, Democrats have gone all-out to try to take down William Barr. They held him in contempt of Congress and tried to throw him behind bars. But that never happened. So now they just filed a lawsuit attempting to force Barr to release information to the House Oversight and Reform Committee about the Trump administration’s failed effort to place a citizenship question on the 2020 census. Democrats are also including Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on the 85-page lawsuit. “The House Oversight and Reform Committee filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to enforce the panel’s subpoenas seeking information about the Trump administration’s failed efforts to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census. “I am filing this enforcement action today because the Trump Administration’s brazen obstruction of Congress must not stand,” said Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), the chairwoman of the Oversight Committee. “President Trump and his aides are not above the law.”  The 85-page lawsuit, filed in federal court in Washington, comes a day after House Democrats won a major victory in their months-long fight to secure testimony from former White House Counsel Don McGahn. The suit is an indication that Democrats believe their hand has been strengthened by the victory in the McGahn case as they seek documents related to other subpoenas that the Trump administration has defied. The House first voted to enforce the subpoenas in July, formally holding Barr and Ross in contempt of Congress for defying the committee’s subpoenas seeking information about the administration’s ultimately unsuccessful efforts to add a citizenship question to next year’s census.” Of all the fights Democrats waged this year, killing the citizenship question on the 2020 census is the most ridiculous. They believe that the census shouldn’t include a simple question about whether the people in the home are U.S. citizens. And even after winning this fight, they want to punish Barr over it.

Remember, within the geopolitical dynamic that benefits all three North American countries, Mexico needs to start taking clear and decisive actions toward all levels of internal corruption if the ultimate economic objective of the USMCA is going to work. Mexican President Lopez-Obrador is concerned this designation could lead to U.S. military engagement against the cartels. The Democrats are concerned this designation would mean they could no longer accept campaign donations from the drug cartels; and into this mix of interests, U.S. Attorney Bill Barr is going to Mexico. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Friday that his government was committed to fighting organized crime, seeking to dispel fears that the United States could take matters in its own hands in the fight against drug cartels. U.S. President Donald Trump said earlier this week that he plans to designate the Mexican cartels as terrorist groups, a move aimed at disrupting their finances by imposing sanctions. While this does not directly give the United States authority for military operations in Mexico, many Mexicans are nervous their northern neighbor could use it as a pretext for a unilateral invention...

‘Close Friends’ with Alleged ‘Whistleblower’

{ breitbart.com } ~ Yet another staffer for Rep. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff served as a fellow for the Atlantic Council, a think tank that is funded by and works in partnership with Burisma, the natural gas company at the center of allegations regarding loose lips liar-Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden... Sean Misko has been described as “close friends” with Eric Ciaramella, whom Real Clear Investigations suggests is the likely so-called whistleblower. Misko reportedly joined scumbag/liar-Schiff’s staff at the House Intelligence Committee in August – the same month the so-called whistleblower’s complaint was filed after first reportedly interfacing with a staffer for scumbag/liar-Schiff’s office. Misko in 2015 was a yearlong “Millennium Fellow” at the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council, which has been under the microscope for its ties to other individuals associated with the Trump impeachment inquiry. Misko’s former position marks the second scumbag/liar-Schiff staffer who worked or currently works with the Atlantic Council. Thomas Eager, a staffer on scumbag/liar-Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee, is currently a fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Congressional Fellowship, a bipartisan program that says it “educates congressional staff on current events in the Eurasia region.”  Burisma in January 2017 signed a “cooperative agreement” with the Council to specifically sponsor the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, where Eager serves as a fellow. As Breitbart News  reported, itinerary for a trip to Ukraine in August organized by the Atlantic Council reveals that Eager held a meeting during the trip with Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor, now a key witness for Democrats pursuing impeachment. China Adopts Malicious "Cybersecurity" Rules

The legislation follows the December 1 implementation of the Multi-Level Protection Scheme 2.0, issued under the authority of the 2016 Cybersecurity Law... Together, these measures show Beijing's absolute determination to seize from foreign companies all their communications, data, and other information stored in electronic form in China. President Trump should use his emergency powers to prohibit American companies from complying with the new rules or from storing data in China. After all these "cybersecurity" rules are in place, no foreign company may encrypt data so that it cannot be read by the Chinese central government and the Communist Party of China. In other words, businesses will be required to turn over encryption keys. Companies will also be prohibited from employing virtual private networks to keep data secret, and some believe they will no longer be allowed to use private servers. Beijing's system, once implemented, will be so invasive that Chinese authorities will no longer need to ask foreign businesses to turn over data. Chinese officials will simply be able to take that data on their own. "Once data crosses the Chinese border on a network," writes Steve Dickinson in the China Law Blog, "100 percent of that data will be 100 percent available to the Chinese government and the CCP." Beijing's complete visibility into the networks of foreign companies will have extremely disadvantageous consequences, Dickinson notes. First, Chinese officials will be permitted, under Chinese law, to share seized information with state enterprises. This means the enterprises will be able to use that information against their foreign competitors...

{ cbsnews.com } ~ Michigan once had the worst unemployment rate in the U.S. So when stimulus tax dollars poured into the state's electric car industry, residents had reason to celebrate... But what happened next has angered some of President scumbag/liar-nObama's most ardent supporters. In 2010, scumbag/liar-nObama and Vice President loose lips liar-Biden personally appeared to break ground at two Michigan plants. The plants were getting a combined $300 million under the stimulus program to build electric car batteries. But as it turns out the companies getting all those American tax dollars are largely owned by Koreans. They bought a lot of Korean equipment and supplies. And they filled some of those sought-after jobs with Korean workers. That drew anger from local labor unions. They say pictures, taken inside the plants show Korean nationals doing hands-on work that should be done by Americans. "I think there's a lot of anger out there, not to be confused with any sort of prejudice against anyone from another country," said Mark Mangione, who represents 1,000 labor union members in west Michigan. "This is American taxpayer dollars and there should be American jobs that are created with those American taxpayer dollars." The companies, LG Chem and Dow Kokam, wouldn't agree to interviews. but they told CBS News the Korean workers are temporary and legal and have "unique ... expertise with highly sophisticated equipment." But just how many there are remains a mystery. The companies won't tell us. Dow Kokam acknowledged 150 on site last December, but won't give a grand total. LG Chem calls the union complaints "baseless" and says Korean nationals haven't been "used to provide labor or craft work." Nate Jackson:  Today is the most traveled day of the year, which is why so much news on impeachment dropped last night. It was the proverbial holiday news dump. Here’s a quick rundown.

Timeline updates:

We now have some key information on the timeline of events regarding Ukraine aid. Primarily these two things:

First, NBC News reports, “The White House Office of Management and Budget made its first official move to withhold military aid to Ukraine on July 25, the same day President Donald Trump spoke to Ukrainian President [Volodymyr Zelensky] by phone.”

Second, “President Trump was briefed about the whistleblower complaint prompted by his dealings with Kyiv before the White House lifted a hold on more than $391 million in aid to Ukraine,” according to The Wall Street Journal. That’s important because if Trump released the funds because of the whistleblower complaint, it looks more like a coverup. The Journal explains, “The White House has defended the president’s actions, in part by saying there was no link between suspending the aid and the president’s request for investigations because the hold on the money was lifted in September.” And, “Mr. Trump said at an Oct. 2 news conference that he lifted the aid after a request from Sen. Rob Portman (R., Ohio).”

Trump needs to do a better job of keeping the story straight.

Meanwhile, “The House committees released interviews with the acting assistant secretary of state in charge of European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker and senior Office of Management and Budget official Mark Sandy,”  reports The Daily Caller. “The committees also released several short transcripts of people who did not comply with subpoenas, including acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney.” Those transcripts shed light on the aforementioned timeline.

Whistleblower:

“The anonymous whistleblower reached out to the intelligence community watchdog on October 8 to clarify the nature of his or her contact with Democratic majority staff of the House Intelligence Committee before the complaint was filed,” CBS News reports. “The whistleblower acknowledged reaching out to the committee, but claimed that nothing substantial was discussed and that the staff member directed them to go through official channels.”

What else happened Oct. 8? We learned that the whistleblower had contact with a 2020 Democrat who turned out to be loose lips liar-Joe Biden.

No wonder scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff changed his mind on having the whistleblower testify. That may change when impeachment reaches the upper chamber and Senate Republicans seek testimony from Eric Ciaramella, the CIA analyst widely believed to be the whistleblower.

Giuliani:

Did Trump send his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to Ukraine or specifically direct him? “I didn’t direct him,” Trump said on Tuesday. “I don’t even know. I know he was going to go to Ukraine, and I think he canceled a trip, but you know Rudy has other clients other than me. He’s done a lot of work in Ukraine over the years.”

Does anyone believe Trump’s denials on this? Back in May, Giuliani said of his efforts in Ukraine, “He basically knows what I’m doing … as his lawyer.” And, oh, by the way, in the infamous July 25 phone call, Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to … talk to Giuliani. “Rudy very much knows what’s happening and he is a very capable guy,” Trump said. “If you could speak to him that would be great.”

Trump needs to do a better job of keeping the story straight.

So what if Rudy is thrown under the bus? “I do have very, very good insurance,” Giuliani said earlier this month, “so if he does, all my hospital bills will be paid.”

Next up are hearings before the House Judiciary Committee, which Chairman scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler has set for Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Polls:

A final note of warning about pollaganda. Some polls show that support for impeachment — especially among independents — dropped during public hearings. Other polls say support has increased. Our advice is, as usual, don’t be swayed by polls that are meant to shape, rather than reflect, public opinion.

And forget all about impeachment over Thanksgiving.
