'My first and foremost witness is
scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff': Collins
demands answers on the whistleblower
by Madison Dibble
{ } ~ Republican Georgia Rep. Doug Collins listed House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff as the top witness he wanted to question as impeachment moves before the Judiciary Committee... Collins, 53, discussed whom he would like to question as part of the impeachment hearings when the House Judiciary Committee takes over the proceedings from the House Intelligence Committee as soon as next week. As ranking member, Collins can request testimony from witnesses, but Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler will have final say over who testifies. During an interview on Fox News Sunday, Collins said his number one request will be that scumbag/liar-Schiff testifies about his knowledge of the whistleblower whose complaint laid the foundation for the House’s impeachment investigation. “The first and foremost, the first person that needs to testify is scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff is the author of this report. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff has been the author of many things, a lot of them found to be false over the past couple of years but he’s gonna be the author of the report,” Collins explained, later adding, “My first and foremost witness in scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff.” Collins said scumbag/liar-Schiff needs to be cross-examined by Republicans in order to confirm his findings in the report and to get to the bottom of his ties to the whistleblower. “He’s put himself into that position. If he chooses not to then I really question his veracity and what he’s putting in his report. I question the motives of why he’s doing it. It is easy to hide behind a report,” Collins said. “It’s easy to hide behind a gavel and Intelligence Committee behind closed-door hearings, but it’s going to be another thing to actually get up and have to answer questions about what his staff knew, how he knew, what he knew about the whistleblower report, his interactions he’s had with Ukraine, the other things that he’s had over time in this process.”...
China to suspend US Navy visits
to Hong Kong over bill
By Edmund DeMarche
{ } ~ China announced Monday that it will suspend U.S. Navy visits to Hong Kong in retaliation over President Trump's decision... to sign legislation that supported the city's pro-democracy protesters who have taken to the streets since June. Beijing took its first step to make good on its promise to employ "countermeasures" against the U.S. in light of the bills that it blasted as "hegemonic" in nature and ignorant of the facts on the ground. The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, which was sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., requires that the U.S. conducts yearly reviews into Hong Kong’s autonomy from Beijing. If ever found unsatisfactory, the city's special status for U.S. trading could be tossed. "I signed these bills out of respect for President Xi, China, and the people of Hong Kong," Trump said in a statement. "They are being enacted in the hope that Leaders and Representatives of China and Hong Kong will be able to amicably settle their differences leading to long term peace and prosperity for all." China also announced on Monday that it sanctioned Human Rights Watch for its support of the violence in the city, ,Hua Chunying, a ministry spokesman, told Reuters.
Doug Collins -vs- Chris Wallace
by sundance
{ } ~ House Judiciary Committee ranking member Doug Collins appears on Fox News to debate the insufferable gatekeeper of the swamp, Chris Wallace... Despite the necessary obfuscation by Wallace, who is professionally trained to pretend not to know things, Collins points out the ridiculous proposition that republicans and the White House are required to respond to participation demands when the HPSCI impeachment report hasn’t even been produced. The process construct therein highlights the purely political motive of the partisan Democrat agenda. At this point it’s transparent.
Mexico gunbattle near Texas border
between suspected cartel members,
police leaves at least 21 dead
By Travis Fedschun
{ } ~ Four police officers were among nearly two dozen people killed after security forces engaged in an hour-long gunbattle with suspected cartel members Saturday... in a Mexican town near the U.S. border, days after President Trump said he was moving to designate Mexican drug cartels as terror  organizations. The shootout happened around noon in the small town of Villa Union, a town in Coahuila state located about an hour’s drive southwest of Eagle Pass, Texas. Coahuila state Gov. Miguel Angel Riquelme told local media that four of the dead were police officers killed in the initial confrontation and that several municipal workers were missing. On Sunday, the Coahuila state government said that security forces killed seven additional members of the gang, bringing the death toll to at least 21. The armed group of suspected cartel members stormed the town of 3,000 residents in a convoy of trucks, attacking local government offices and prompting state and federal forces to intervene. Ten alleged members of the Cartel of the Northeast were initially killed in the response. Riquelme told reporters the state had acted “decisively” to take back the town, as videos of the shootout posted on social media showed burned-out vehicles and the facade of Villa Union’s municipal office riddled with bullets. A damaged black pickup truck with the C.D.N. of the Cartel del Noreste, or Cartel of the Northeast, written in white on its door could be seen on the street in an Associated Press photo...
Law against criticizing Islam
closer than you think, expert warns
by ~ A law in America to protect Muslims and their faith from any criticism might be closer than many think... Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, wrote that if a Democrat wins the presidency, "I hope some of y'all will visit me in prison." In a column at PJ Media he noted it's long been a goal of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to obtain an international law criminalizing criticism of Islam. In fact, the coalition of 56 Islamic nations plus the Palestinian Authority has pressed for it for years at the United Nations. Recent OIS Secretary-general Yousef al-Othaimeen "called upon the nations of the world, both Muslim and non-Muslim, to crack down on speech that was 'insulting religions or prophets.'" Al-Othaimeen argued there are laws against anti-Semitism and racism, so he also wants Islam protected. Wrote Spencer: "No one should discriminate against Muslims or anyone, and genuine intolerance, when it shades over into illegal activity, and violent crime should always be prosecuted. But the OIC wants to go much farther than that, and get Western societies to criminalize criticism of Islam altogether." This muzzling of criticism of Islam could never happen in America, right?" he asked. "Wrong. In fact, this is a lot closer to happening than most people realize." Spencer noted that in October 2009, the scumbag/liar-nObama administration joined Egypt in supporting a resolution in the U.N.'s Human Rights Council to recognize exceptions to the freedom of speech for "any negative racial and religious stereotyping," which he called "a highly subjective category." Approved by the U.N. Human Rights Council, the resolution called on states to condemn and criminalize "any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence." Then-Secretary of State scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton affirmed the scumbag/liar-nObama administration's support for the resolution on July 15, 2011, in an address on freedom of speech at an OIS conference on Combating Religious Intolerance. "Together, we have begun to overcome the false divide that pits religious sensitivities against freedom of expression and we are pursuing a new approach," scumbag/liar-Clinton said. "These are fundamental freedoms that belong to all people in all places and they are certainly essential to democracy." Further, Spencer said, in 2012, Assistant Attorney general Thomas Perez refused to confirm that the DOJ would never entertain or advance a plan to criminalize speech against any religion...
North Korea fires rockets on Thanksgiving
{ } ~ North Korea launched two rockets on Thursday as the deadline for restarting nuclear talks with the U.S. approaches. According to South Korea's military, the rockets were launched into the sea in the afternoon... After nuclear negotiations with the U.S. stalled  earlier this year, Kim Jong-un set a year-end deadline for restarting the talks. Reuters reported that "analysts believe Pyongyang is trying to send a Thanksgiving reminder to the United States by demonstrating progress in weapons development on the anniversary of the 2017 ICBM test." U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun recently said the U.S. "will be at this as long as it takes" regardless of Kim's "artificial" deadline.
Abolish the National Security Council
by Daniel Greenfield

{ } ~ Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the latest star of the Democrat effort to undo the 2016 election, is still at work on the National Security Council. While Trump supporters on the NSC like Rich Higgins and Ezra Cohen-Watnick were forced out, Vindman won't be. NSC staffers who criticized scumbag/liar-nObama holdovers or sought to expose their misbehavior are gone, but Vindman is still there while undermining Trump.

And that’s the SNAFU of things on the NSC.

The National Security Council has been ground zero in the campaign against President Trump from the beginning. General Flynn’s appointment as National Security Advisor had touched the third rail because the NSC had been used to coordinate anti-Trump operations in the Susan Rice era.

The NSC doesn’t answer to Congress. Its members are meant to advise the president. (Except when they’re actually working for a previous president.) They command the implements of foreign policy, traditionally the weakest element in domestic politics, but not when they start treating their domestic political opponents as agents of a foreign state. And the size of the NSC has gotten out of control.

Under scumbag?liar-nObama, the NSC staff hit 400 people. That’s up from a dozen during its Cold War origins.

And it’s the staff that’s the problem.

The NSC was born in the Truman era, not as a byzantine government bureaucracy full of endless departments and hundreds of staffers, but as a means for key foreign policy and national defense figures to coordinate, develop options and then present them to the President of the United States.

People like Vindman or Fiona Hill were never supposed to be there.

In the 1947 National Security Act, the Council was to consist of the Secretary of State, the Defense Secretary, the heads of the branches of the military, and various strategic services and agencies, who would meet at sessions presided over by the President.

There was also to be a staff "headed by a civilian executive secretary".

What started out as a formal kitchen cabinet turned into a monster. And that didn’t exactly take decades. The NSC staff was at 50 people under George H.W. Bush. It hit 400 under scumbag/liar-nObama.

That’s an eightfold increase from Bush I and a threefold increase from his predecessor, Bush II.

The NSC’s permanent members were there to advise the president. The staff were there to support the work of the permanent members. And then the staff became the permanent members while the presidential appointees ended up being forced out or even worse for running afoul of them.

President Trump’s move to prune back the NSC is worth doing. But reorganizations of the NSC have been carried out before. Bureaucracy is the urban weed of Washington D.C. And even when it’s occasionally pruned, it always grows back. The only solution is to pull it up by the roots.

The National Security Council needs to go.

The NSC was meant to be a forum in which the heads of existing agencies would coordinate foreign policy and national security options. Instead, the NSC’s staff tends to set the foreign policy. What was once a support structure turned into a think tank and a policy shop. And then its very own deep state.

The very worst example of this was Ben Rhodes, an aspiring novelist who evolved from a speechwriter to deputy national security adviser for communications, and, in that capacity ran our foreign policy. War and diplomacy weren’t run by the cabinet members accountable to Congress, but by political operatives.

The NSC had become a state within a state, a rogue organization reporting directly to Barack scumbag/liar-nObama.

This wasn’t Eisenhower’s military-industrial complex or the deep state, it was something worse. It allowed a gaggle of political operatives to take control of national defense and intelligence, and retool them to spy on political opponents, to manufacture cases against them, and then to act as moles within future administrations with the aim of subverting them and perpetuating their old political agendas.

The NSC violates constitutional checks and balances. It undermines the rule of law. Its current function is an absurd perversion of the simple and straightforward purposes that it was meant to serve.

A coordinating body for national security and foreign policy may be a good idea. But the NSC isn’t it.

What would we do without the NSC? Agencies and departments would actually formulate policies internally and cabinet members would offer them to the president instead of the NSC acting as a rogue policy shop with the National Security Advisor competing with the cabinet members he is meant to be coordinating with. That would cut out some of the infighting and increase congressional accountability.

But that’s a 1980s argument. The 2019 argument is that the NSC is a threat to America.

Old NSC scandals involved its people overriding and sidelining the Pentagon, the State Department, the CIA, and determining and implementing policy on their own. Those scandals of departmental infighting seem almost nostalgic now that NSC personnel are working to actively oust a sitting president.

The NSC staff isn’t just undermining cabinet heads, it has become a rogue political organization.

It needs to go.

That’s not something that might be achievable right now, but it should become a Republican goal. The Flynn case and the latest impeachment bid are warnings that the NSC has become a toxic organization.

Traditionally, Republicans have been proponents of the NSC. Eisenhower and Nixon had expanded the NSC, while Kennedy and Carter had contracted it. But that pattern began to shift with the scumbag/liar-Clinton era, and fundamentally altered under scumbag/liar-nObama. The current NSC is a creature of the scumbag/;liar-Clinton and scumbag/liar-nObama eras.

But the scumbag/liar-nObama administration only completed the corruption of an organization that had lost its way.

Abolishing the NSC will, in some ways, be a policy victory for the Left. But the Left has shown that it can do far more damage with the NSC, than without it, and that makes it too dangerous to exist

The NSC was meant to counter problems like the military-industrial complex or the deep state by organizing their functions and putting them more directly under the control of the White House. That plan worked so well under scumbag/liar-nObama, that White House political operatives used the NSC to take control of intelligence, the military, and law enforcement, and weaponized them against Republicans.

The central principle of politics is that proximity is power. The NSC was only meant to coordinate. Its staff were only meant to support. But the very act of creating an organization that would advise the president also made the position irresistible to men like Kissinger and Brzezinski who used it as a means of accumulating vast amounts of unchecked power. And after the National Security Advisor’s power had been rolled back, it was the anonymous staffers who picked it up and ended up in the driver’s seat.

Then it was just a simple matter of blowing up the staff and padding their ranks with political operatives.

Suddenly, the NSC was no longer overthrowing foreign governments, but our own government. And previously unknown NSC staffers in a byzantine organizational chart had become key figures in the war.

And, these days, it’s not a war on foreign enemies, it’s a war against President Trump and his voters.

A civil war.

The current crisis shows that we can’t have both the NSC as well as free and open elections.

A free country can’t afford the hybrid Democrat think-tank and pretorian guard that the NSC has become. It’s time to dismantle it, declassify and release all NSC activities involving the domestic political opposition, and go back to the way foreign policy and national security were run for over 200 years.

Either that or abolish elections and put the NSC in charge of running the country.
