 The Pennsylvania Avenue Refugee Showdown
Despite intense lobbying by the administration, the House voted overwhelmingly Thursday to approve a measure stiffening oversight requirements for those seeking refugee status. The 289-137 margin was enough to stave off Barack nObama's veto threat, particularly when 45 Democrats went against him and supported the House bill, dubbed the American SAFE Act. Those going against nObama said to vote otherwise would be “radioactive.” (If it were up to the Islamic State, the vote wouldn’t be the only thing that's radioactive.)
In a refreshingly powerful and coherent message from the House speaker, Paul Ryan said, "Let me comment about his veto threat: It baffles me. I just for the life of me don't understand why his veto threat came as it did, especially given the fact that his own law enforcement top officials came to congress and testified that there are gaps in this refugee program." He continued, "ISIL is already telling us that they are trying to infiltrate the refugee population. When we have indications that some of the Paris bombers ... may have come through the refugee routes, don't you think that common sense dictates that we should take a pause and get this right?"
As with most conservatives, Ryan's concern isn't with all or even most refugees; it's with the few who pose a threat.
But never mind common sense. nObama says, “The idea that somehow [refugees] pose a more significant threat than all the tourists who pour into the United States every single day just doesn’t jive with reality. So my expectation is after the initial spasm of rhetoric, the people will settle down, take a look at the facts, and we’ll be able to proceed.” His reality is an alternate utopian one.  -The Patriot Post

Hilly vs. Hilly on the Islamic State
In last weekend's Democrat debate — the one in which the candidates repeated the warning that "climate change is the greatest threat to national security" — Hilly Clinton weighed in on the Islamic State. “It cannot be contained, it must be defeated,” she said in a clear reference to Barack nObama's foolish "contained" remarks hours before the deadly attack in Paris. "But," she added, "this cannot be an American fight, although American leadership is essential." Whatever that means.
Maybe she ate her Wheaties Thursday because she sounded a much different note. The conflict with the Islamic State “requires sustained commitment from every pillar of American power,” she said. “This is a worldwide fight and America must lead it.” What a difference a few days, at this point, make.
Yet in the same speech she announced her "plan" to "defeat ISIS." But it essentially boils down to this:

Step 1: "Defeat ISIS in Syria, Iraq and across the Middle East" (an actual quote) Step 2: ? Step 3: Win the White House.

Lost in translation is calling our enemies what they are: Radical Islamofascists, jihadis bent on death and destruction. Instead, she insisted, "Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism." Except for all the times they do, of course. She also displayed an astounding lack of self-awareness, lamenting that despite the success in Iraq (without crediting George W. Bush's surge) the Iraqis were later "betrayed and forgotten." By whom? By nObama and his secretary of state, Hilly Clinton. If Clinton can't articulate who the enemy is or why the Islamic State was able to rise, there's no hope she'll be able to craft a strategy that secures America's interests.

 Just Who Are These 'Gunmen'?
More tragedy struck Mali today, where reports indicate Confederate flag-wielding, Second Amendment-advocating white Christian bigots murdered several people and took scores more hostage. Not really, though that's what the Leftmedia would like to say. Instead, it's using a term that's recycled when labeling people isn't politically opportune. Take it away, Washington Post: "Gunmen stormed a luxury hotel in Mali's capital on Friday, killing at least three people and taking about 170 hostages in a city that serves as a logistics hub for French forces helping in a fight against Islamist insurgents."
Scratch that. Let's try again: "Gunmen Islamic terrorists stormed a luxury hotel in Mali's capital on Friday..." In the sixth graph — strategically placed, no doubt — the Post notes, "Malian army commander Modibo Nama Traore said at least 10 gunmen stormed the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako shouting 'Allahu Akbar' — 'God is great' in Arabic — then fired on guards and began rounding up hostages." The Islamists are said to have freed hostages "able to recite a Muslim profession of faith." Hey, who says terrorists aren't charitable?
It's no coincidence that the attack comes just days after Boko Haram is suspected of killing 32 in a Nigerian bombing and a slew of other high-casualty attacks. The Islamic State recently bombed a Russian plane carrying more than 200 before going on a rampage in Paris, killing another 129. While no group has claimed responsibility for the Mali tragedy, that's really beside the point, because all Islamic extremists fall under the same umbrella. It's an ideology that won't be changed by regulating carbon emissions, which is what the Left says drives these jihadis to carry out these gruesome assaults. But they'll gladly accept Western leaders using it as a scapegoat. What lunacy.

Hilly Chokes Out “Radical Islamic Terrorists” But It Was A Struggle
{rickwells.us} ~ Hilly Clinton actually utters the words “Radical Islamic Terrorism,” although she struggles with it and has to take a breath mid-word on “Islamic.”... She’s at globalist headquarters, the Council on Foreign Relations, making a speech that appears to be geared towards some damage control after her “debate” performance when she opted instead to substitute the word “radical jihadism.” Clinton’s speech said in part, “The obsession in some quarters with a clash of civilization or repeating the specific words radical Islamic terrorism isn’t just a distraction, it gives these criminals (look who’s talking), these murderers more standing than they deserve. It actually plays into their hands by alienating partners we need by our side.” Whatever, Clinton, none of that made any sense, particularly the beginning “clash stuff.”        http://rickwells.us/archives/22530

 nObama And EPA Defy Congress, Ignore Hearings, Head To UN   {
rickwells.us} ~ In his opening statement of hearings conducted by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, the committee with jurisdiction over the EPA... including their budget and, at least in theory, the extent of their draconian impact on our nation, Chairman Jim Inhofe (R-OK) offers some insight to those in attendance. He says, “Despite ‘president’ nObama’s constant rhetoric about transparency we are a week and a half away from the start of the United Nation’s 21st session of the conference of parties, this is the 21st year that we’ve had this and several of us on his panel up here have had different ideas about what is to be accomplished there. My idea is nothing.” Senator Inhofe reveals, “I just sent a letter in July seeking information related to the ‘president’s’ intended nationally determined contribution.” He pauses to explain, “That’s where he’s supposed to be able to document what he wants and he did send information in that he’s going to be reaching between a 26 and 28 percent reduction in emissions but failed to say how he’s going to do this.”       http://rickwells.us/archives/22539

Boots on the Ground? Not Without New Rules of Engagement
{Jennifer Kerns} ~ In the wake of terrorist attacks in France, GOP presidential candidates and lawmakers on Capitol Hill debate this week whether to authorize more “boots on the ground” to fight Islamic State... Even Hilly Clinton dedicated her campaign speech to the topic on Thursday. However, all of the talk about the expediency and possible number of boots on the ground misses a larger point – what the men in those boots are permitted to do in order to win the war on terror. In the wake of 9/11, American families were willing to send their sons and daughters off to war primarily because they were under the illusion that we could, and would, defeat the terrorists. What our troops discovered upon landing in the Middle East is the expectation that they were to instead wage a politically-correct version of war – one that would make Gen. George Patton turn over in his grave.

The nObama Administration is Completely Lost
{totalconservative.com} ~ White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was put in the challenging position Wednesday morning of defending some extremely questionable statements made by President nObama and Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry regarding ISIS... “I would encourage you to spend just as much time focusing on the president’s actions as you do his words,” Earnest said in an interview with “Fox & Friends.” Well, considering that his actions are even more problematic than his words, Earnest should be grateful that we don’t. But the words are bad enough. When there has been a terrorist attack of this magnitude, and all the president can think to say about it is that it has been a “setback,” something’s gone of the rails. Something is wrong when the leader of the free world examines a major flaw in his strategy, thinks it over, and comes to the conclusion that everything is going according to plan. It’s one thing to be a fool. It’s another thing to stoop to such ignorance that you can never be anything but a fool.

What hanoi-John Kerry Said About Al Qaeda Should Worry You   {americanactionnews.com} ~ The day before Al Qaeda in West Africa attacked a Mali hotel, taking over 100 hostages, Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry, America's embarrassing Secretary of State, had this gem to offer... Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry claimed on Thursday that the U.S. has “neutralized” al-Qaida leadership “as an effective force,” a bold claim that came just hours before terrorists affiliated with the al-Qaida group Al-Mourabitoun claimed responsibility for an attack on a hotel in Mali. An estimated 27 people were killed at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako, Mali’s capital. Another 170 are reportedly being held hostage.

Syrian Refugees disappeared from Louisiana after being accepted
{gopthedailydose.com} ~ Although it was France’s open-door policy that enabled terrorists to kill 129 people and injure 352 in Paris, with 99 in critical condition, ignorant “Americans” are still demanding to take in Syrian refugees... More than half the nation’s governors announced their states would not accept Syrian refugees after authorities revealed that at least one of the suspected Paris terrorists entered Europe via the current wave of Syrian refugees. He was allowed to enter Greece in early October by falsely identifying himself as a Syrian named Ahmad al Muhammad. For those of you who don’t understand the ‘Trojan Horse’ risk that comes when taking in refugees at a vulnerable time like this, consider what just happened in Louisiana when a Syrian refugee in Baton Rouge simply disappeared from the agency that was supposedly in charge of the person and the resettlement process:        http://gopthedailydose.com/2015/11/21/syrian-refugees-disappeared-from-louisiana-days-after-being-accepted/

ISIS preparing to lanuch chemical attack - This isn't good
{TERRESA MONROE-HAMILTON} ~ France is now bracing for chemical and biological attacks from ISIS. The Prime Minister is warning the French to get ready and he called for a state of emergency to be extended for another three months... He feels an attack is imminent. America is bracing herself as well since ISIS has repeatedly threatened Washington, DC and New York. The US now has proof ISIS is developing these weapons. ISIS is by no means done… this is just the beginning. They call it the ‘Front of the Storm.’ They can’t rule anything out at this point. There seems to be terrorists everywhere and all over the globe today. It is the direct result of what global leaders have done with erasing borders and actively importing refugees. They have welcomed an invasion with open arms and we are about to all pay a horrific price for this treason. ISIS will stop at nothing to win and wipe infidels from the face of the planet.

Lap Failure Two – hanoi-Kerry Follows nObama’s Fighting Terrorism
{rickwells.us} ~ It might be a good idea for the nObama regime to stop their desperate attempts to make themselves look good in the horrible failure of what is their limp, feckless substitute for a war on terrorism... Just as the amateurish ego-driven Hussein nObama declared that ISIS was contained on national television the day before the Paris attacks, Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry made a similar untimely statement regarding al-Qaeda. On Thursday hanoi-Kerry made comments to reporters in Washington DC after providing testimony to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. One has to wonder if that hearing might not have been a total waste of a lot of people’s time, given the events which unfolded shortly thereafter in Mali, at the Radisson Blu Hotel.       http://rickwells.us/archives/22566

Real Expert Climate Panel Denounces Fraud Of nObama/hanoi-Kerry
{rickwells.us} ~ The timing couldn’t be better for the realists or worse for the alarmists. Just as Hussein nObama and hanoi-John Kerry are picking out their socks, ties and hip waders for the upcoming Climate ConJob21 Summit in Paris... a panel of respected experts on the subject is calling out their hoax. They’re drawing attention to the fraud and dismissing the wild claims of the two “Meteorologists of Marxism,” nObama and hanoi-Kerry, for the fairy tales that they are. The two regime profiteers have spent the last year incessantly claiming that climate change is responsible for everything bad that afflicts us, from nObama’s oversized ears and girlish “comfortable with my feminine side” sitting posture to whatever unnatural event created hanoi-John Kerry, scientists are exposing the fraudulent nature of their claims. They still haven’t been able to offer an explanation for the existence of hanoi-Kerry, possibly because their specialty is the global climate, not biological warfare.   http://rickwells.us/archives/22580

Bill Whittle – Past Rewarding Of Islamic Savages Empowered Them
{rickwells.us} ~ Bill Whittle notes the absurdity that keeps being spread by the shovel full, that Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with Islam... pointing out at the start of the video how he immediately envisioned Lutheran extremists or Buddhist gunmen as responsible for the Mali terrorist attack. Enough with the PC crap is the message as he points out they were shouting Allahu Akbar on their murder spree, god is great. Worshiping murder is a rarity in the theological world, something only found in the “religion of peace.” Whittle notes that just because someone is shouting Allahu Akbar doesn’t mean a head is about to be removed from its proper location, pretty much every time a head is removed it’s being done to a chorus of Allahu Akbars. He addresses the twenty-year-long failure of intelligence and government recognition of the problem in French ghettos and the role that the French socialist welfare state plays in creating the problem through their immigration Ponzi scheme. Ponzi schemes never work, they are doomed to inevitable collapse and the French social experiment with Islamists is no exception. They became radicalized and dangerous.   http://rickwells.us/archives/22590

.
{aim.org} ~ As I argued in Faithless Execution, the principal constitutional duty of the chief executive is to execute the laws faithfully. President nObama, by contrast, sees his principal task as imposing his post-American “progressive” preferences, regardless of what the laws mandate.
.
In his latest harangue against Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and other Americans opposed to his insistence on continuing to import thousands of Muslim refugees from Syria and other parts of the jihad-ravaged Middle East, nObama declaimed:
.
When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted … that’s shameful…. That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.
.
Really? Under federal law, the executive branch is expressly required to take religion into account in determining who is granted asylum. Under the provision governing asylum (section 1158 of Title 8, U.S. Code), an alien applying for admission must establish that … religion among other things… was or will be at least one central reason for persecuting the applicant.
.
Moreover, to qualify for asylum in the United States, the applicant must be a “refugee” as defined by federal law. That definition (set forth in Section 1101(a)(42)(A) of Title , U.S. Code) also requires the executive branch to take account of the alien’s religion:
.
The term “refugee” means (A) any person who is outside any country of such person’s nationality … and who is unable or unwilling to return to … that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of … religion [among other things] …[.]
.
The law requires a “religious test.” And the reason for that is obvious. Asylum law is not a reflection of the incumbent president’s personal (and rather eccentric) sense of compassion. Asylum is a discretionary national act of compassion that is directed, by law not whim, to address persecution.
.
There is no right to emigrate to the United States. And the fact that one comes from a country or territory ravaged by war does not, by itself, make one an asylum candidate. War, regrettably, is a staple of the human condition. Civil wars are generally about power. That often makes them violent and, for many, tragic; but it does not necessarily make them wars in which one side is persecuting the other side.
.
In the case of this war, the Islamic State is undeniably persecuting Christians. It is doing so, moreover, as a matter of doctrine. Even those Christians the Islamic State does not kill, it otherwise persecutes as called for by its construction of sharia (observe, for example, the ongoing rape jihad and sexual slavery).
.
To the contrary, the Islamic State seeks to rule Muslims, not kill or persecute them. nObama prefers not to dwell on the distinction between the jihadist treatment of Muslims, on the one hand, and of Christians, Jews and other religions, on the other hand, because he – like much of Washington – inhabits a world in which jihadists are not Islamic and, therefore, have no common ground with other Muslims … notwithstanding that jihadists emerge whenever and wherever a population of sharia-adherent Muslims reaches critical mass. But this is sheer fantasy. While there is no question that ISIS will kill and persecute Muslims whom it regards as apostates for refusing to adhere to its construction of Islam, it is abject idiocy to suggest that Muslims are facing the same ubiquity and intensity of persecution as Christians.
.
And it is downright dishonest to claim that taking such religious distinctions into account is “not American,” let alone “shameful.” How can something American law requires be “not American”? And how can a national expression of compassion expressly aimed at alleviating persecution be “shameful”?
