{ freebeacon.com } ~ Iran's regional allies and some European nations continue to form new plans to skirt a rash of upcoming sanctions on Tehran to keep the hardline regime afloat... as protesters continue to push for regime change in the Islamic Republic, according to U.S. officials and experts. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is the latest regional official to oppose the new sanctions and throw his government's support behind Iran as it works with regional allies and others to avoid a series of new sanctions by the Trump administration aimed at further squeezing Tehran's economy and choking off funding for its terrorist forces. Senior Turkish officials, operating on orders from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also have vowed to help Iran skirt new U.S. sanctions. The move represents another turn in the diplomatic standoff between Turkey and the United States over its imprisonment of an American pastor that led the Trump administration to issue new sanctions on Ankara. Senior U.S. officials say that even more sanctions are coming down the pike...

Paul Manafort is being prosecuted because of
who he knows. I hope he walks.

{ legalinsurrection.com } ~ The jury ended its first day of deliberations in the prosecution of Paul Manafort in the Eastern District of Virginia... When this trial is over, Manafort faces a second trial on other charges in federal court in D.C. The jury asked the judge for help understanding “reasonable doubt.” As is usual in these situations, the judge didn’t give much help, explaining that reasonable doubt was “doubt based on reason” but did not require “guilt beyond all possible doubt.” That the jury would ask such a question probably heartened Manafort’s team, but I wouldn’t read too much into it. Paul Manafort is a shady character. He may even be a criminal character. But he undoubtedly is someone who is being prosecuted because of who he knew. That would be one Donald Trump. Had Manafort not made the decision to join the Trump campaign, tasked with managing the delegate floor fight at the Republican National Convention, Manafort would be leading his prior life of flim flam and influence peddling...

U.S. Treasury Turns Up the Pressure on
Foreign Facilitators of North Korea’s Illicit Shipping Sector

{ defenddemocracy.org } ~ Yesterday, the U.S. sanctioned three non-North Korean entities and one individual “for facilitating illicit shipments on behalf of North Korea.”... These latest sanctions come shortly after another Treasury action earlier this month that targeted Russian facilitators, showing Washington’s willingness to enforce UN and U.S. sanctions amidst ongoing nuclear diplomacy with Pyongyang. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned North Korea’s foreign facilitators that their deceptive practices are “prohibited under U.S. law, and all facets of the shipping industry have a responsibility to abide by them or expose themselves to serious risks.” These latest North Korea sanctions target Chinese company Dalian Sun Moon Star International Logistics Trading Co., Ltd. and its Singaporean affiliate, SINSMS Pte Ltd. (SINSMS), for facilitating illegal shipments of alcohol, tobacco, and cigarette-related products on North Korea’s behalf using falsified documents. The Washington-based Committee for Human Rights in North Korea reported in 2014 that North Korea has a growing reliance on domestic production and trade of counterfeit cigarettes as an illicit revenue source. Treasury  estimates Pyongyang’s illicit cigarette trade now yields up to $1 billion in annual revenue for regime coffers. The Kim regime in turn depends heavily on its shipping sector and the sector’s underlying facilitators to transit contraband goods...
75 years later, Search Finds Ship’s Stern Ripped
Away by Mine in WWII’s Aleutians Campaign

{ news.usni.org } ~ Halfway through his midwatch, 19-year-old Seaman Daryl Weathers scanned the screens in the darkened radio shack as the USS Abner Read (DD-526) hunted Japanese submarines... off the Aleutian island of Kiska on Aug. 18, 1943. At 1:50 a.m., an explosion rattled the Fletcher-class destroyer, bending the shafts and buckling interior spaces. Blast pressure even straightened aluminum bunk hooks, wounding and trapping some men as they slept. Unbeknownst to the crew, a floating Japanese mine had detonated portside aft of midship as the ship made a full right rudder turn, nearly slicing off the stern at frame 170. Weathers rushed through choking, blinding chemical smoke to join frantic rescue efforts at the stern, which just two minutes later would tear away in the oil-slicked waters. “There’s three sleeping compartments back there,” Weathers, now 94 and living in Seal Beach, Calif., told USNI News. Sailors used a net to grab a dying man before the sea swallowed the stern, taking 70 men with it into dark, frigid waters nearly 300 feet deep. The remaining crew scrambled to steer Abner Read, now adrift, away from the approaching rocky coast. Days later, the destroyer was towed to nearby Adak and then Dutch Harbor before the long tow to Puget Sound, Wash., for permanent repairs and a new stern. By December 1943, it resumed service, training crews off California before joining the fleet in Leyte Gulf in 1944. A Japanese kamikaze airplane struck the destroyer on Nov. 1, 1944, triggering explosions that sunk the ship and killed 22 crew...

New Mexico Jihad Compound
Mysteriously Destroyed By Authorities

{ thedailysheeple.com } ~ New Mexico authorities have executed a court order to destroy an encampment where the son of a famous New York Imam ritualistically murdered his three-year-old son... and trained nearly a dozen other children to commit school shootings, according to Taos, NM prosecutors. The decision to raze the compound is the latest controversial development in the case, after New Mexico judge Sarah Backus on Monday ordered four out of five alleged Muslim extremists free on a $20,000 “signature bond” meaning they didn’t have to pay, including the suspect in his son’s murder, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj. NBC News reports that police seized an RV where eleven children and five adults lived in what was described as squalor, while also bulldozing the entrance to an underground tunnel where authorities found the decomposing body of three-year-old Abdul-Ghani Wahha – placed there by the suspects in the hopes that he would resurrect as Jesus and use his psychic powers to help the group target “corrupt institutions and people” with “violent actions.”...  Why is the government destroying evidence – is this an attempt to cover up the truth while they write the “official” narrative?

Fein-stein's History of Foreign Collusion

by Political Editors:  If serious interest in protecting national security was the motivating factor for dummycrats-Democrats in their loudly raised concerns over Russian election meddling and the “need” to investigate President Donald Trump for alleged collusion, then they must believe that communist China is nothing but a trusted friend with simple curiosity being the explanation behind its history of espionage efforts. This must certainly be the position of Sen. Dianne Fein-stein (D-CA), who employed a Chinese spy in her San Francisco office for over a decade. The employee was charged by the FBI with spying for China back in 2013.

Fein-stein must believe that the thousands in campaign contributions she and dummycrats-Democrats received from foreign entities, specifically China, as well as her husband’s lucrative multimillion-dollar business deals with China have no bearing on concerns over national security. How could they? The Chinese are our friends.
But when it comes to Russia, Fein-stein, who sits as a ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, only sees a dangerous foreign power seeking to sow discord and corruption into America’s electoral system.
This is the hypocrisy displayed by manydummycrats- Democrats. Lacking any genuine evidence other than the liar-Clinton campaign’s fabricated dossier, they continue to moan over the influence of Russia and its ongoing threat to the U.S. and the upcoming elections.
