Paul Albaugh: The Democrat National Convention is underway and leftists are working overtime to forge a unified front — this time to take on Donald Trump. It appears, however, that doing so this year will be harder than most. For all of their hype leading up to this week, there is no shortage of dissatisfaction with liar-Hillary Clinton — or the Democrat Party itself.
The convention began with no visible American flags (there was, however, a Palestinian flag) and the crowd booing during the opening prayer. There's Democrat unity for you.
We have already seen the dysfunction of Democrats at work with the weekend revelations of 20,000 DNC emails. Many of those were sent from key Democrat leaders strategizing on how to undermine Bernie Sanders and sway the primary result in favor of liar-Clinton. Of course, Democrats will pass this off as another "what difference does it make" moment. And the rhetoric coming from convention speakers will be geared toward convincing Americans that liar-Clinton should receive the torch from Barack nObama to carry out his transformation of America.
But at this point, several well-known Democrats are having none of it. Al Gore for instance, who is a longtime "friend" of the liar-Clintons and is a global warming alarmist extraordinaire announced that he will be unable to attend the convention due to "obligations in Tennessee." That's interesting because the convention has been on the calendar for four years. Furthermore, what obligations could Gore possibly have to miss all four days of the DNC? Perhaps he didn't want to emit all of those carbon emissions from his private jet to get from Nashville to Philadelphia. Right...
Instead, Gore will reportedly make his formal endorsement of liar-Clinton toward the end of the convention, but from a distance.
Much was made of missing Republicans at last week's GOP convention, but Gore's absence is significant. He was Bill's vice president — how could he miss liar-Hillary's coronation?
Bernie Sanders, who addressed the delegates ahead of the convention, attempted to rally his supporters to unify for liar-Hillary. "Brothers and sisters, this is the real world that we live in," Sanders said. He was drowned out by loud boos from the crowd of delegates. He then tried to turn the conversation toward Trump, whom he claims has "insulted women and Africans." But that didn't work either as the crowd grew even more rowdy and started a pro-Bernie chant.
Almost every mention of liar-Clinton's name was reportedly met with chants of Bernie! Bernie! Bernie! Talk about awkward. Here you have the Democrat Convention to nominate liar-Clinton and the crowd is cheering for Bernie. We suppose that if liar-Clinton didn't "feel the Bern" during the primaries, then she does now.
For all of signs of disunity at the Republican Convention, the Democrats have started out worse. Cruz may have been booed at the RNC for not endorsing Trump, but there weren't other people chanting his name.
Then there is disgraced outgoing DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was booed by her own delegation despite her attempt to appease the crowd by handing the gavel to Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. It's unclear whether the boos were directed toward Schultz because of her involvement with emails undermining Sanders, or if they were directed toward the Baltimore mayor, who is best known for inciting race riots over a criminal's death. Ok, we kid — it was completely clear.
As for the DNC emails, the FBI is investigating the hack. While that investigation is underway and information is limited, Democrats are pointing fingers at Russia for "helping Republicans." At least that is the political theory that liar-Hillary "Russian Reset" liar-Clinton wants everyone to believe.
One irony of the claims against Russia shouldn't be lost. liar-Clinton boasting of her "reset" only to complain about political interference is rich enough, but consider that nObama sent money and personnel to Israel last year in an effort to help defeat Benjamin Netanyahu — an actual ally. nObama also tried to influence the Brexit vote. Besides, remember nObama's line about "more flexibility" in advance of the 2012 election? The Russians would love to extend the nObama presidency.
There is a lot of disunity among Democrats — many of their voters are disenfranchised by their party "leaders" and many of the party members are completely dissatisfied that liar-Clinton is going to be the nominee. liar-Clinton is well aware of this, so a deflection from reality is her remedy. Come to think of it, "Deflection From Reality" pretty much describes the entire party.  -The Patriot Post

 OPINION IN BRIEF
Thomas Sowell: "If black lives matter at all to the nObama administration, they obviously don't matter as much as black votes that can be won by posing as defenders of blacks, even in situations where defenders of thugs are destroying black children's futures. Even the thugs themselves will be worse off in the long run, if somebody does not put a stop to behavior that can lead them to prison as adults. liar-Hillary Clinton plays the same political game of posing as a defender of blacks from enemies threatening them on all sides, as she tries to win an election that would amount to a third term of the nObama administration's policies — most of which have left blacks worse off than before nObama took office. The ancient phrase, 'By their fruits ye shall know them' has been replaced by the current notion that by their rhetoric you should judge them — and vote for them. One of the key questions this election year is whether black lives matter more than black votes that can be won by racial charades that undermine and endanger those lives. The answer to that question will affect all Americans, because racial turmoil is to no one's interest, except some politicians and race hustlers."   -The Patriot Post

liar-Clinton Empty Seats Nomination Night...
by Rick Wells

{rickwells.us} ~ Enthusiasm wins elections as the man in the video says and there definitely is a deficit of that vital commodity among the Democrats with their candidate, liar-Hillary Clinton... After she was nominated and the speech given by her husband, “Predator Bill.” The Sanders supporters were especially quick to leave before the evening’s festivities had concluded. They had a protest to stage at the media center. The man in the video describes the scene, saying, “This is amazing, this place is empty. There is nobody left in here. I mean this whole stadium. Look at this, look at this; empty seats, empty seats.” He points to the seats which were previously filled by members of the California delegation as them being almost entirely gone. He captures the impact of their early departure precisely, saying, “This is not voter enthusiasm.” He says, “This is the prime time of the Democrat National Convention, right after the nomination of liar-Hillary Clinton and this place has emptied out like crazy. I’m stunned.”...  http://rickwells.us/clinton-empty-seats-voting-booths-nov/

New Lead Uncovered in Search for USS Indianapolis

USS Indianapolis in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
{usni.org} ~ More than 70 years after the cruiser USS Indianapolis (CA-35) was sunk, a new clue discovered by a Navy researcher could give expeditions hunting for the missing ship a better location to look, the service said this week... Searchers have looked for Indianapolis since the ship was sunk by Japanese submarine I-58 on July 30, 1945 shortly after delivering components for the atomic bomb Little Boy to the island Tinian. Of more than thousand men aboard, almost 800 survived the initial sinking but only about 320 survived days of exposure and shark attacks on the open ocean. Since the sinking many have tried to find the ship and none have succeeded. Now, Naval History and Heritage Command researcher Richard Hulver unearthed a log entry from the amphibious landing ship USS LST-779 which helped pinpoint time and location of Indianapolis only 11 hours before the ship was sunk by Japanese submarine I-58 on July 30, 1945...

Unbelievable: 1,500 American Soldiers
Held HOSTAGE And The Media
Kept It QUIET For nOBAMA!!
incirlik-base-.jpg
{fromtheright.com} ~  In a really remarkable story that was completely covered up by the media, 1,500 U.S. soldiers were held hostage by a NATO ally who turned off the electricity to their base and surrounded it with troops... The ally is Turkey, and after a failed coup attempt by the military, the president accused Americans of being complicit in the coup. It’s a ridiculous charge, but he had an ulterior motive – he wants a political enemy currently residing in Pennsylvania to be extradited to Turkey...  http://fromtheright.com/latest/unbelievable-1500-american-soldiers-held-hostage-and-the-media-kept-it-quiet-for-obama/

Is it no longer ‘the economy, stupid’?

{aei.org} ~ This bit of down-home political wisdom was at the heart of Bill liar-Clinton’s successful 1992 presidential campaign. And indeed, jobs, income, and living costs are awfully important to voters, if not paramount... Many election forecasting models center on economic variables. So you’d think the state of the U.S. economy would go a long way toward explaining voter mood in 2016, particularly Donald Trump capturing the Republican nomination. But it’s not so simple. A March analysis of GOP primary results by the Manhattan Institute’s Scott Winship found Trump performed no better in states where voters said the economy was the biggest issue than in other states. Likewise, Mother Jones economics blogger Kevin Drum noted that Trump was actually doing slightly worse with economically anxious voters than with voters overall. If it’s no longer “the economy, stupid,” than what is it? Maybe it’s the culture. There is, after all, apparently deep Republican unease about America’s transformation into a nation that is less white and less Christian. A recent Pew Research analysis found GOP voter attitudes about Trump are “strongly associated” with their views on “immigration, Islam, and racial diversity.” And when looking at Trump’s broader base of Republican support, conservative thinker Avik Roy reluctantly concluded “the gravitational center of the Republican Party is white nationalism,” rather than, say, limited government or supply-side economics...

{legalinsurrection.com} ~ From the start of the prosecutions in the Freddie Gray case, Andrew called BS on the charges. One of his early posts on May 1, 2015, was Freddie Gray Cops Charges – Justice or Political Theater?... it strikes me as even less of a foundation for the charges brought here than was the evidentiary foundation for the second degree murder charge brought by Florida Prosecutor Angela Corey against George Zimmerman in the self-defense shooting of Trayvon Martin. And we all remember how that ended:  Zimmerman Verdict Reached: NOT GUILTY. The dropping of all charges this morning against the remaining defendants, after three acquittals, is a vindication of Andrew’s analysis. It’s also nice to see his hard work and analysis recognized once again...  http://legalinsurrection.com/2016/07/hey-mosby-congratulations-youre-a-laughingstock/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

{legalinsurrection.com} ~ Due to recent terrorist attacks, German politicians have now asked Chancellor Angela Merkel to deport over 200,000 migrants who failed to gain asylum... Homeland expert Armin Schuster said: In his appeal for a speeding up of deportations, Mr Schuster said: “Some could get the impression they could get away with anything because they don’t realize how mildly the state reacts to those breaking the law.” Burkhard Luschka, domestic policy spokesman for the Social Democratic Party parliamentary group, agreed with him: “We have to be better at enforcement. Asylum seekers or refugees who are rejected have to leave Germany.”...  http://legalinsurrection.com/2016/07/politicians-demand-merkel-deport-200000-migrants/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

Does ISIS Possess Localized Russian EMP Weapons Capable of Bringing Down Aircraft?
by Dave Hodges
emp-brings-down-f-16.jpeg
{thecommonsenseshow.com} ~  In June of 2015, I reported that Russian proxy forces, armed with Russian localized EMP technology were responsible for bringing down an F-16 piloted by an Iraqi general flying near the Mexican border... I reported at that time that Russia had very possibly had fired the first shots of World War III through its proxy forces, ISIS. I have an update on the leaked findings of the crash site and the implications are not favorable to the US and its citizens. Bcause of what I have learned about the Russians, ISIS and localized EMP weapons, whenever I read about an incident, like the one reported by Russia Today, I wonder if it was brought down by a localized Russian EMP weapon and at the heart of the incident, is ISIS. As far as the incident reported by Russia Today, I have no idea about the actual circumstances surrounding this news report. However, the use of Russian EMP weapons, designed to bring down a plane is not new. The implications are frightening and this is something that needs to appear in our national discussions regarding terrorism...

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~  In one of those eerie coincidences, the day of the Charlie Hebdo atrocity saw the publication of a novel by the grumpy French intellectual Michel Houellebecq (pronounced Wellbeck)... Entitled Submission, it envisioned a charismatic candidate from the Muslim Brotherhood winning the French presidency in 2022 and, in coalition with the other parties, gradually taking over the education system. Readers hoping for a Bat Ye'or/Mark Steyn/Frank Gaffney style takedown of Islamism were disappointed. The president, Mohammed Ben-Abbes, is depicted more-or-less sympathetically, and Islam is portrayed as filling an emptiness in the soulless French state...

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ On occasion, monumental events occur in history resonating globally. When they happen, historians-to signify their importance-call them "shots heard ‘round the world."... Just such shot occurred July 9th but failed to attract the attention of a world too easily distracted. Ever since Prophet Muhammad's death, Muslims have been divided along sectarian lines-Sunni versus Shiite. Each views the other, not as fellow Muslims, but apostates failing to adhere to true Islam. Today, both sects boast their own champions-for the Sunnis, it is Saudi Arabia; for the vastly outnumbered nine-to-one Shiites, Iran...  http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/has-riyadh-officially-called-an-end-to-its-kabuki-dance-with-iran?f=must_reads

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ America's homeowners should be shaking in their shoes. The federal government has decided that people who have worked, saved and planned so they can buy homes in nice, safe neighborhoods of their own choosing, are racists... They charge that it is a "social injustice." The government now claims that it's unfair unless everyone can have the same, whether they earn it or not. And it doesn't matter whether they can afford such a home. We're told that it's racist to deny someone an equal home, just because they don't have the money for it. White privilege, don't you know. You may be watching the "Black Lives Matter" protests taking place on city streets around the country. You may be alarmed that such violence can happen in your downtown. And you may wonder what is behind such activity. Well, get ready for the same kind of threats and violence to possibly come directly into your own neighborhood simply because you have a nice house. Does that sound far fetched? Well you need the details on how the federal Housing and Urban Development agency (HUD) is working to enforce its new rule called Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH)...That's totally BS!  http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/listen-this-time-or-hud-will-destroy-your-city?f=must_reads

Notes from Cleveland: The two-part rebellion

{freedomsback.com} ~ The main purpose of the modern political convention is to produce four days of televised propaganda. The subsidiary function, now that nominees are invariably chosen in advance, is structural: Unify the party before the final battle. In Cleveland, the Republicans achieved not unity, but only a rough facsimile.

The internal opposition consisted of two factions. The more flamboyant was led by Ted Cruz. Its first operation — an undermanned, underplanned, mini-rebellion over convention rules — was ruthlessly steamrolled on Day One. Its other operation was Cruz’s Wednesday night convention speech in which, against all expectation, he refused to endorse Donald Trump.

It’s one thing to do this off-site. It’s another thing to do it as a guest at a celebration of the man you are rebuking.

Cruz left the stage to a cascade of boos, having delivered the longest suicide note in American political history. If Cruz fancied himself following Ronald Reagan in 1976, the runner-up who overshadowed the party nominee in a rousing convention speech that propelled him four years later to the nomination, he might reflect on the fact that Reagan endorsed Gerald Ford.

Cruz’s rebellion would have a stronger claim to conscience had he not obsequiously accommodated himself to Trump during the first six months of the campaign. Cruz reinforced that impression of political calculation when, addressing the Texas delegation Thursday morning, he said that “I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father.” That he should feel so is not surprising. What is surprising is that he said this publicly, thus further undermining his claim to acting on high principle.

The other faction of the anti-Trump opposition was far more subtle. These are the leaders of the party’s congressional wing who’ve offered public allegiance to Trump while remaining privately unreconciled. You could feel the reluctance of these latter-day Marranos in the speeches of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell and House Speaker Paul Ryan.

McCon-nell’s pitch, as always, was practical and direct. We’ve got things to achieve in the Senate. nObama won’t sign. liar-Clinton won’t sign. Trump will.

Very specific, very instrumental. Trump will be our enabler, an instrument of the governing or if you prefer, establishment wing of the party.

This is mostly fantasy and rationalization, of course. And good manners by a party leader obliged to maintain a common front. The problem is that Trump will not allow himself to be the instrument of anyone else’s agenda. Moreover, the Marranos necessarily ignore the most important role of a president, conducting foreign and military policy abroad, which is almost entirely in his hands.

Ryan was a bit more philosophical. He presented the reformicon agenda, dubbed the Better Way, for which he too needs a Republican in the White House. Ryan pointedly kept his genuflections to the outsider-king to a minimum: exactly two references to Trump, to be precise.

Moreover, in defending his conservative philosophy, he noted that at its heart lies “respect and empathy” for “all neighbors and countrymen” because “everyone is equal, everyone has a place” and “no one is written off.” Not exactly Trump’s Manichaean universe of winners and losers, natives and foreigners including judges born and bred in Indiana.

Together, McCon-nell and Ryan made clear that if Trump wins, they are ready to cooperate. And if Trump loses, they are ready to inherit.

The loyalist (i.e., Trumpian) case had its own stars. It was most brilliantly presented by the ever-fluent Newt Gingrich, the best natural orator in either party, whose presentation of Trumpism had a coherence and economy of which Trump is incapable.

Vice presidential nominee Mike Pence gave an affecting, self-deprecating address that managed to bridge his traditional conservatism with Trump’s insurgent populism. He managed to make the merger look smooth, even natural.

Rudy Giuliani gave the most energetic loyalist address, a rousing law-and-order manifesto, albeit at an excitement level that surely alarmed his cardiologist.

And Chris Christie’s prosecutorial indictment of liar-Hillary Clinton for crimes of competence and character was doing just fine until he went to the audience after each charge for a call-and-response of “guilty or not guilty.” The frenzied response was a reminder as to why trials are conducted in a courtroom and not a coliseum.

On a cheerier note, there were the charming preambles at the roll call vote, where each state vies to out-boast the other. Connecticut declared itself home to “Pez, nuclear submarines and … WWE.” God bless the United States.
