Texas Judge Under Attack

Texas Judge Tom Head came under criticism and heard calls to retire following comments he made on FOX34 regarding needed funds to increase police forces in response to possible uprisings should Obama win reelection in November.

“He's going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens?” Head asked. “I'm thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we're not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we're talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy."

Head came under criticism not only for the proposed tax to counter the potential violence he sees, but also the implication that he might join in.

"Now what's going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He's going to send in U.N. troops. I don't want 'em in Lubbock County. OK. So I'm going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say, 'You're not coming in here,'" the judge said. "And the sheriff, I've already asked him, I said, 'You gonna back me?' He said, 'Yeah, I'll back you.' Well, I don't want a bunch of rookies back there. I want trained, equipped, seasoned veteran officers to back me."

Letters came into Lubbock's newspapers, one reading "Message for Tom Head: Please resign now."

The majority of the outrage at Head's comments is the impression that he is advocating, or at least instigating violence against Obama. He strongly believes that Obama will use UN troops to implement control of his policies, and that that will result in an outraged lashing back from the American people. Main stream media sources see this sentiment as an irrational anti-Obama rant. Head has as of yet not backed down.

From The Avalanche-Journal:

As emergency management director I have to think of the worst-case scenario, and I used that as an example,” Head said.

In his opinion, the judge explained, the worst-case scenario, politically and financially, is if Obama and the Senate Democrats stay in power.

“Does that mean that I think the U.N. is going to come rolling into Lubbock? No, that probably is not going to happen,” Head said.

As a response to people who argued the county judge used his personal opinions to make political decisions, Head said all public officials bring their value systems into office.

“I cannot divorce my theology and my philosophy from my office,” Head said. “I am pro-life, I’m pro-gun rights and if you’re gonna vote for me and if you’re not for gun rights, then you probably don’t want me in office.”

  • No one believes in defending the United States more than I do.  The United States, we are one Great Nation. has been on self destruction in the past. That brougth on the Civil War. War has always been the last resort to political failure by all sides. Office holders are suppose to have the abilities to bring solutions to crises so long as they are in office voluntarily or with pay or benefits or both at all times! That is one of the jobs where it almost takes a full time employed religious person of cloth.   Once a War starts then there are only survivors. The Laws of Brutal Nature.  Just ask any combat or service member who has served in a combat zone.

  • Hey! OBAMA My children want THAT 6trillion dollars back that YOU added to our DEFICET over Your' watch, We're INDICTING Your' WHOLE Administration after you get FIRED!!!

  • As a Marine, as with every branch of the goveernment, I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and our  nation. The judge just said what many Americans are thinking. The facts reveal what what's ahead of us: 1. Obama has his private army, 2. He has armed them with weapons from the fast and furious scheme, 3. Now that army has the the ammo for those weapons, thanks to all the government agencies buying millions of rounds. I also believe that obama cancel the election by declaring martial law. I pray to God that I'm wrong. He came into power with the intention of dividing our great nation. His parents were socialist who didn't like America. It just goes to reason that he has the same disdain for America. All I can say is be vigilant. As George Washington said, " The power of the Constitution will aways be in the people."

    Semper Fi....Aways faithful to America!

  • Being a Texan myself - Judge Head - continue to stand and pronounce the truth... IF TSHF - I'll be joining you  in defending Texas!

    Semper Fi!

  •      We need more judges with Cojones .

  • @Leo: Obviously you don't and need to read Dale again. The judge didn't make the comments from the bench and he's entitled to his opinion, right or wrong, just as you are.

  •  Back in the 1980s when NATO was serving a much needed function, it was completely out of the jurisdiction of the United Nations. In those days we did a lot of OPFOR training exercizes where the scenario was an invasion of Europe by the Warsaw Pact. NATO was and is a highly honed fighting  machine. The UN and it's Blue Helmet mob was however a joke with zero combat value.  At the End of the cold war NATO should have been honorably disbanded, but the UN was casting covetous eyes on NATO hoping to claim it as the UN's big bully dog.  NATO has been used quite effectively in several regional wars that have nothing to do with Europe and America and everything to do with the UN. In the so called Arab Spring, NATO support brought down Qaddafi. But Europeans are not happy about the UN trying to use NATO for UN dirty work.  UN troops would cut and run at the first sign of resistance, but NATO won't.  NATO is not our enemy, but measures need to be taken to make sure that the loose cannon in the world (the UN) does not try something dumb.  I am certain that Europe would seriously balk at any suggestion that their sons be lackeys for the UN thugs if there ever were an American Civil War.  One thing that should be a major consideration by the Romney administration, is that we should withdraw all support and membership from the UN, and remove them from American soil. The abolition of the United Nations would be not only a great kindness to our own country, but would be a service to humanity.

  • Dale... I know what America is all about. As a Republican, that I am, and served honorably in the Marine Corps 1965-1967 in Vietnam. I can still think for for myself. I am a Republican who pays his dues and still complains when appropriate! I know the Republican Party very well.

  • Leo...you sound like a liberal attorney?   The Judge made his statements as an individual...Not while sitting on the bench. You will find yourself in the very small majority with your so-called line of reasoning...Which by the way gave you away as a liberal!

    Dale Alumbaugh

  • As a representative in public , Texas Judge Tom Head represents all people. When he took office he had his job to fullfill as a public service with pay & benefits from the public. His responsiblities were not to advocate violence, but to Administer through the courts justice by the Laws governoring The United States & Texas. On his own he has change his job responsiblities, not by law he represents. It is time he found his new role in life as he advocates with freedom of speech.
