Let's face it folks, Obama and the Democrats are out to totally destroy our Constitution.  Not long ago they were attacking the First Amendment right of religious freedom.  Now they are after the Second Amendment.  

Before I go into the gun control lets examine another issue.  That issue is the war on drugs.  As long as I can remember we have been fighting a never ending battle to stem the flow of illegal drugs into this country.  As any border patrol agent can attest, they are constantly finding new methods the smugglers are using to get the drugs across the Mexican border into the United States.  Everything from people acting as pack mules in return for illegal passage into the United States, to drugs hidden the gas tanks of vehicles, to sophisticated tunnels dug under the border.  With all the efforts of our brave border patrol agents, they estimate they are only catching maybe 10% of the drugs coming across.

Now lets move on to the gun control issue.  Mexico already has the strictest gun control laws of any country in the Western Hemisphere.  Yet they can not stop the flow of weapons into their country.  Even if Fast and Furious had never happened, there would still be thousands of innocent men and women killed in Mexico each year by illegal guns.  These guns are being smuggled in from China and other countries.  I have been to Mexico, and I can tell you their police officers do not mess around.  Yet their citizens are slaughtered on a regular basis.

Let us say that the Obama and his drones succeed in eliminating our Second Amendment rights.  Don't let his lips service fool you, he does not want an armed public.  Even if they only outlaw "Assault Rifles" then they have the problem of enforcing the law.  Mexico, to this point, has not been able to keep weapons that are illegal in their country from coming in.  How does the President and the rest expect the United States to stop these weapons?  Especially since they have not been able to stop the drugs from coming into our country.

The only thing these laws are going to do is make normally law abiding citizens break the law.  Democracies have in the past gone tyrannical.  France, and Germany are two that went tyrannical.  I fear a Government that fears guns in the hands of law abiding citizens.  I have said it before, "If an politician is afraid of my gun, then I am afraid of him.  He is hiding something that he fears I will not like."  It is an armed public that helps keep the government in check.  This is not about hunting.  It is about being ready to defend our Constitution against all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC.

Ok someone please explain this idiocy to me.  I had to drive up to Manchester, TN area today for work.  On my way through Fayetteville, there were about three factory type businesses and the workers were on strike.  I am not sure what type of businesses they were, but I am guessing they were some sort of manufacturer.

I do not understand how, in the United States, a union can say, "You must join us or you can not have this type of job."  Last I checked, that smacks of communism where you have to join the communist party to work.  Don't tell me I have to pay dues to some organization just so I can put food on my table for my kids and I.  As soon as you do, I am going to tell you exactly what you can do with your union membership card and I may just forcefully put it up your rectum with my size 13 boot myself.

But here is the idiocy of these people striking.  Almost half of all Americans are out of work.  I would be willing to bet everyone of you know at least one person who is out of work, has been for some time, is living on government handouts (not necessarily of their own choice but necessity), and wishes they could find a job.  These MORONS should be thankful to be working at all.  Everyone is hurting in this economy including corporations.  If you want to lose you job, go ahead and strike, and when your strike causes the company to fold, you can go home and tell you kids, "There won't be any Christmas presents this year because I was stupid."

There is a petition for the State of Alabama to secede from the Union.  Our grievances are these:

1) The Federal Government has refused to secure the country's southern border with Mexico.  Many illegal immigrants have come to Alabama causing a great burden on our welfare system that is forced upon the state by the Federal Government.

2) The President has ignored the limits placed on his office by the Constitution of the United States of America and Congress has failed to take action against him.

3) The Affordable Health Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) has an individual mandate that the President and the Democrat Party says is not a tax.  This makes this provision of Obamacare unconstitutional and further makes the entire bill unconstitutional.  Yet the Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate calling it a tax and saying Congress has the power to levy taxes.

4) During Congressional debates over Obamacare, polls said and many Americans wrote expressing that they did not want this bill to be passed.  Congress ignored the will of the people and passed it anyway.

I have heard many people complain about the Electoral College and suggest its removal from the Presidential election process. I could not disagree more with this stance. The Founding Fathers feared that larger population groups would be able to rule over more rural areas because of a pure majority vote. Even with the removal of the Electoral College, this most recent election outcome would have been the same. Obama received a majority of the popular vote. However, if you look at a map of the votes broken down by county and color coded red for Republican and blue for Democrat, you will see that a majority of the individual counties were red. As a matter of fact, if you could drive in a straight line starting on the west coast and head east, you could drive a line that would bring you within a few hundred miles of the east coast without passing through one single blue county. Driving from north to south, you could literally drive a line from the Canadian border to the Rio Grand and never pass through a blue county.

What happened with the 2012 election is exactly what the Electoral College is supposed to prevent. So what happened? The answer is simple. The Electoral College system was not designed by the Founding Fathers as a winner take all system. It was intended that Electoral votes would be awarded by congressional district. So the candidate who won the popular vote in the most congressional districts would have the most electoral votes.

Let's examine Florida, my home state, for instance. Florida has 29 Electoral votes. Obama received all 29 of those votes because he won the popular vote in the state. But when you look at the map of Florida broken down by county, Obama really did not win that much of Florida. What he did win was the major metropolitan areas, such as Tampa, Miami, Orlando areas. Now I won't claim I know how the congressional districts are broken up, but I will estimate that under a proper system, Obama would have carried maybe 4 or 5 of Florida's 29 votes. Even in California, which we all consider one of the most liberal states in the Union, Obama would not have carried a majority of its 55 Electoral Votes.

So the Electoral College in itself is not the issue. The issue is the system has been altered from its original intent and is broken. We need a grass roots effort across the nation to get as many states as possible to award their Electoral votes by Congressional District the way the system was intended to work.

Fellow patriots, over the last two years it has become painfully obvious that John Boehner does not have the backbone we need as a Speaker of The House. I was totally dismayed at his response to Obama's illegal appointments in January of 2012. The House's response was nothing at all. I even wrote my Congressman about it and called for the House to draw up Impeachment Articles. The response I got was that it was the Senate Responsibility to confirm the appointments. While that is true, it is the House that has to draw up Articles of Impeachment and hold the hearings.

Also, during the debt ceiling crisis it was Boehner who blinked. That was a point when a stronger leader could have held Obama's feet to the fire along with Reid's. But NO, we don't want to cause the Federal Government to shut down. That would be bad. Hello, does anyone remember President Reagan? Didn't he shut down the Federal Government three times when the Democrats refused to work with him?

What we need is very strong leadership in the House. We need a Speaker of The House that has a very strong spine. That person is not John Boehner. We need to write our Congressmen and Congresswomen, and tell them to support another person for the Speaker of The House. We need someone who has the GUTS to stand up to Obama and Reid.

Even though there are many good conservative Republicans that could fill this position, I think a very good choice would be Paul Ryan. We got a glimpse of his coolness under pressure in the Vice Presidential debate. I personally think he made the “elder statesman” look like a clown. He kept his cool even in the face of some of Biden's flat out lies. He made his case.

Paul Ryan also is a fiscal conservative. He understand the fiscal cliff this country is heading for and understands what needs to be done to fix it. I believe he would stand his ground even with the heat of the liberal media coming down on him.

Write your Congressman or Congresswomen. Let's get this done so we can block the Obama/Reid agenda and get Obama's foot of the accelerator as we move toward the fiscal cliff we are heading.
