Two terrible things just happened only days apart. In Oakland, during anti-police protests outside of a federal courthouse, federal protective service officer Dave Patrick Underwood was killed in a drive-by shooting that was targeted at the police. Another officer was shot but survived.
The killing of Underwood, a black American, has only appeared in a few national outlets—one of which was the Wall Street Journal. Cable news outlets CNN and MSNBC, meanwhile, appear to have completely ignored Underwood’s killing. At best, they glossed over it.
In Minnesota, just two days later, protestors gathered on an interstate highway bridge they believed to be closed. In a stunning video, they were almost run over by a semi-truck. Fortunately, the driver braked and drove in the middle of the road to make it possible for people to get out of the way. It is amazing that no one was injured. Well, aside from the driver, who was pulled out of his truck and beaten.
The trucker, Bogdan Vechirko, was later released without charges after it was determined that he wasn’t targeting the protesters. As it turns out, the real culprits were state officials, who closed the interstate without putting up a blockade or properly warning drivers.
The media ran videos of the truck moving into the crowd over and over. Admittedly, it was a stunning scene. But they left out the part where the trucker was beaten. There was also little to no national coverage after it was determined Vechirko wasn’t targeting the protestors. And some of the media that did cover the lack of charges made it seem like an injustice was being done.
A quick Google search reveals oodles of national coverage of the initial incident—much more than the killing of Underwood received.
Violence Directed Against Cops Is Being Ignored
Two days after the semi-truck incident, a retired St. Louis police captain, David Dorn, was shot and killed while protecting a friend’s store from rioters and looters. A shocking video, live-streamed on Facebook, shows the 77-year-old black American lying in a pool of blood.
Yet Dorn’s death also appeared in only a few corporate media articles and was hardly covered on cable news at all.
In Alabama, a white American cop was killed, although it is unclear if the killing was related to the George Floyd “protests.” The officer, Stephen Williams, was known for bridging divides in the community.
In Atlanta, a black American officer named Max Brewer is in intensive care after he was run over during protests.

Black lives matter: Is that an accurate statement?
Perhaps a few MORE accurate terms would be: Some black lives matter, or certain black lives matter, or even designated black lives matter.
It seems that the life of convicted criminal George Floyd matters above all other life forms on Earth. On the other hand the life of retired police captain David Dorn, murdered by looters, doesn’t seem to mean $hit. How about the many black citizens that have spoken out against the rioting, looting, violence, and destruction of private property, do their lives matter? If you ask CNN or MSNBC, their live don’t mean $hit either. The only black lives that matter are the ones that are solidly aligned with the democrats intent on destroying America.
Odd how the protesters never showed up in Chicago after Memorial day weekend, since that was Chicago's deadiest Memorial day weekend ever... Why were those deaths different, could it be because they were blacks killing blacks.. And are black police officers killed different than other black men killed... I find it sad that any life is not deemed worthy irrespective of the outside color, because we all bleed red from the inside...
You may be surprised... to know that minorities with much greater odds have defeated their enemies and survived to fight another day... it is not always numbers that matter... it is resolved and motivation... that can turn the corner on odds. If the conservatives are anything like their leaders in the Senate or most government positions we are in real trouble... they are as likely to hang their white neighbor as to stand up to the tyrants calling for his blood.
Those who are quick to shed blood often find they are the first to bleed... Violence should be pursued only in self-defense... too, preserve one''s life, property and liberty. We are to live at peace with all men as much as is possible. If war should come let it be by another and let our resolve and response be overwhelming ... soundly defeating the enemies of liberty.
You obviously are reading impaired I support the use of force where life, property, or one's security is being threatened unlawfully... You obviously have not read many of my some 26K post calling for the protection of our 2d Amendment and right to self-defense... I also believe that it is a constitutional duty for the People to defend the Constitution and our liberty with whatever force it takes to retain them... However, I am not in support of suicide or illegal abuse of our rights, we must act within the law as much as is possible.
