Elections do indeed have consequences. And aside from the twin calamities on our southern border and in our national treasury, there’s no greater evidence of this than the Democrats’ head-snapping flip-flop on the safety and efficacy of Donald Trump’s Operation Warp Speed vaccines.
For example, it seems like only yesterday when bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden was warning us, “I trust vaccines, I trust scientists, but I don’t trust Donald Trump.” And yet here he is today, telling our nation’s 1.3 million active-duty troops to buckle up and take the poke.
We wonder: What changed in the interim? Certainly not the vaccine. Heck, it still doesn’t even have FDA approval. Why, if we didn’t know better, we’d swear Scranton bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe’s initial resistance — and that of VP scumbag/liar-Kamala Harris and many other Democrats — had been purely political.
“Democrats and the Leftmedia have the temerity to lament the politicization of a vaccine that they are entirely responsible for creating,” our Thomas Gallatin wrote recently. “The bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration is now demanding that social media companies crack down on COVID ‘misinformation’ because it is ‘killing people.’ Democrats made this mess. They seeded vaccine mistrust. But now they want to blame Trump and Republicans.”
In his message to the troops, our nation’s wokest-ever, white-supremacist-hunting defense secretary, Lloyd Austin, begins: “As many of you know, President bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden asked me to consider how and when we might add the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines to the list of those required for all Service members.”
That’s a clever formulation — a formulation meant to lump these novel experimental COVID-19 vaccines in with a host of tried-and-true vaccines we’ve been taking since we were kids. But vaccines for measles and smallpox and polio have proven track records built over decades. These vaccines? Not so much. While they appear to be both safe and reasonably effective, we have no way of knowing about any potential downstream effects they might have. Both the Pfizer and Moderna versions, for example, use a radically different approach compared to traditional vaccines.
Perhaps sensing this, Austin and his flacks then try to reassure the troops about the stick: “By way of expectation,” they write, “public reporting suggests the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine could achieve full FDA licensure early next month.”
Data from the DOD website indicate that more than a million active-duty service members have already gotten the shot. Still, that means hundreds of thousands of them haven’t. What’s holding them up? No doubt for a variety of reasons. And who’s to say those reasons aren’t good enough to keep their government from forcing an experimental injection into their bodies?
When a warrior enlists in the American Armed Forces, he swears an oath “to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” and to bear “true faith and allegiance” to that same Constitution. But he also swears to obey his chain of command, which includes the president of the United States, as well as the officers appointed over him.
Are the Constitution and the chain of command in conflict here? It’ll be interesting to see whether certain troops believe a bit of pushback is in order. ~The Patriot Post
Democrats’ Radical Spending Agenda
A trillion here, a trillion there, and suddenly we’re talking about real money. That’s a paraphrase of the famous misquote of Senator Everett Dirksen from the 1950s, but it’s certainly relevant now.
The U.S. national debt is fast approaching $29 trillion. Remember the heady Tea Party days of 2010 when the debt was a paltry $13 trillion? Good times.
Alas, few Americans care about that anymore. Now Democrats want $1.1 trillion for “infrastructure” (which largely isn’t about roads and bridges, and which the CBO’s lowball estimate says would add $256 billion to the debt), as well as another $3.5 trillion to further the fundamental transformation of the United States. All that stands in their way are a few uninspired Beltway Republicans. But who can blame those Republicans? As we already said, Americans don’t really care about the debt. They might raise an eyebrow at the price tag, but they then conclude, Oh well — I just want MY entitlement.
And so the profligate spending continues apace. The argument is no longer about such antiquated notions as constitutional boundaries for the federal government, but whether a senator or congressman can get some political mileage out of either proposing or opposing a new or bigger spending program.
Update: The Senate passed its infrastructure bill this morning on a 69-30 vote.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman socialist/commie-Bernie Sanders made the case for socialist spending last week, and as soon as 18 Republicans agreed over the weekend to move the “infrastructure” bill, Democrats pounced and released that $3.5 trillion follow-up.
socialist/commie-Sanders claims his bill is “the most consequential piece of legislation for working people, the elderly, the children, the sick and the poor since FDR and the New Deal of the 1930s.” He might be right. It’s full of things like Medicare expansion, “free” college, universal preschool, paid family and medical leave, subsidies for “green” energy, and even an untold number of green cards for illegals. Any one of those items should be a big debate in a single bill, yet Democrats cram all of this cradle-to-grave entitlement bonanza into one piece of legislation.
House Speaker scumbag/liar-Nancy Pelosi says the infrastructure bill is contingent on the bigger bill. Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin say the bigger bill is contingent on the smaller one. They’re just playing both sides against the middle. Either way, Senate Democrats plan to pass their transformational monstrosity using the reconciliation process, which will allow them to bypass a likely 50 Republican “no” votes.
We warned recently that the real and total price tag of the two bills will be more like $6 trillion. If $6 trillion sounds familiar, it’s because we’ve already spent that much on “COVID relief.”
Taking things at face value, the editors of National Review whipped out their calculators: “Were the full agenda to get through, it would mean that Washington would have enacted $10 trillion in new spending since the start of the pandemic less than 18 months ago.”
Next up is a fight over the so-called debt ceiling. It’s supposed to serve as a limit on borrowing, but it’s a limit in name only. Congress always raises it. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says that’s all up to Democrats, who should own up to the cost of their agenda and raise the debt ceiling as part of their bill. “Democrats have all the existing tools they need to raise the debt limit on a partisan basis,” McConnell said. “If they want 50 lockstep Democratic votes to spend trillions and trillions more, they can find 50 Democratic votes to finance it. If they don’t want Republicans’ input, they don’t need our help.”
Democrats never let a crisis go to waste, and they’ve masterfully woven together a global pandemic, Trump Derangement Syndrome (including two phony impeachments), and an election integrity crisis to bring about the fundamental transformation they’ve been dreaming about for decades.
The real problem is that their dreams are increasingly expensive, radical, and far afield of the Founders’ vision and construct for American government. And the dollars and cents aren’t all that’s on the price tag.

UN Climate Report Not as Alarming as Alarmists Claim
Chicken Little-ism splashed across the front pages of Leftmedia outlets following the latest climate report dispensed by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Agence France-Presse’s alarmist title read, “Climate Report Must Be ‘Death Knell’ For Fossil Fuels: UN Chief.” The Washington Post ran the doom-and-gloom opinion headline, “The U.N.‘s dire climate report confirms: We’re out of time.” And the Associated Press’s headline was “'Code red’: UN scientists warn of worsening global warming.”
The end is nigh, but maybe not as nigh as one would think after digging into the actual IPCC report. In fact, what the report essentially boils down to is the assertion that, according to those oh-so-accurate computer models (wink, wink), global temperatures, by “best estimate,” can be expected to rise by 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2040 and by 2.1 to 3.5 degrees by the year 2100. In other words, 19 years from now the globe may be a little warmer and 79 years from now a tad bit warmer still.
Computer models are only as good as the information fed to them. Neither computers nor the leftist climate scientists inputting information are trustworthy prophets.
That the globe has been warming is not seriously disputed by anyone. The sticking point remains the blame — that the primary cause of this warming can be primarily attributed to human activity. That’s especially true in light of the ecofascists’ demands for drastic measures to avoid catastrophe. Scientists readily admit that even if these radical free-market-economy-destroying measures were implemented immediately, there is no certainty that they would have any significant impact on the climate’s current trajectory.
Meanwhile, what the Leftmedia is pushing with its climate alarmism is not really concerned for the climate. Rather, it’s an excuse to demand an end to governmental systems that prize Liberty and individual freedom. It’s a call for massive top-down governmental control over the lives of individuals. In short, a demand for a global authoritarian state to govern every aspect of people’s lives, all in the name of saving the planet.
In the end, the IPCC’s report is more of the same climate projections that climate alarmists take as “science” gospel, but in reality never pan out even remotely as dire as predicted. It’s good to learn from the physical world and to engage in it responsibly. “Conserve” is the root word of conservative, and we ought to have that plan for the environment. However, it’s also important to engage in this study with a spirit of humbleness, knowing that there is far more humanity doesn’t know than that which is known. It is pure hubris to claim the science on climate change is “settled.” And it is downright malevolent to assert that those objecting to drastic actions that would destroy the free market and individual liberty in the name of saving the planet are opposed to science and human flourishing.
For eons, adaptation has worked for plants, animals, and humans. We would be wise to follow suit. ~The Patriot Post

President bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden should be impeached for dereliction of duty in enforcing our nation’s borders — or so at least one Republican has concluded. As the border crisis continues to spin out of control, with more than one million illegals caught crossing the southern border since bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden took the reins, Republicans have had enough.
Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) has called for bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s impeachment, stating, “Over the past several months, President bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden and [DHS] Sec. [Alejandro] Mayorkas have blatantly and consistently refused to do their constitutional duty to take care that the immigration laws be faithfully executed, as required by Article II, endangering countless American and foreign lives in the process.”
We noted last week that Americans have been paying a high price for illegal immigration. As just one example, criminal aliens have cost the lives of more than 1,200 people over the last decade in Texas alone.
And just as Donald Trump had finally made significant headway in securing the southern border and stemming the flow of illegal immigration — in fact, a new estimate says the illegal immigrant population actually dropped under Trump — bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden reversed course and opened the gates wide open. The resulting run on the border has gotten so bad that even Democrats in the border states have called on the Biden administration to stop the flow and secure the border.
Roy’s call for impeaching bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden is entirely legitimate given the president’s dereliction of duty. Unfortunately, Democrats so thoroughly politicized and debased the useful and just tool of impeachment with their unfounded and dubious claims against Trump — all in desperate attempts to see him removed from office — that any Republican raising the call against bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden is seen as merely engaging in political tit-for-tat.
However, whereas the Democrats’ impeachment calls against Trump were based almost entirely upon willfully nefarious misinterpretations of his comments, bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s policy actions are beyond the pale. bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden has intentionally acted against the sovereignty of the U.S. for politically calculated reasons. He’s pandering to the extreme radicals of his party’s base — radicals who object to borders and the enforcement of them.
Meanwhile, despite what the bumble/socialist/scumbag/ liar-Biden administration has claimed, that it has the border fully under control, leave it to Mexico’s leftist president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, to expose that lie. “It must be said that the border is open, not completely, but it has never been completely closed,” he recently stated. “However, we need to open this one, and it is an issue that we are going to discuss today.”

A Silver Lining in the GOP Cloud
If I’d listened to progressive leftist messaging after the 2020 elections, I’d have believed the GOP, much like the Whig Party of the 1850s, was in its death throes and on its way to the ash heap of history. Ah, but isn’t that what the “Ministry of Truth” would like me to believe? While there were indeed very dark clouds swirling for conservatives and lovers of Liberty after bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden’s questionable presidential win, those clouds have a silver lining that should give us all hope.
When you look at the result of midterm elections over the past three decades, you see significant “buyer’s remorse” in the composition of the House and Senate. In the 1994 elections, after scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton’s first two years in office, the House and Senate lurched hard right. Aside from a brief 2001-2002 interlude in the Senate after Jim Jeffords switch parties to give Democrats brief control, both chambers remained in Republican control until George W. Bush’s second midterm elections in 2006, when they both flipped to Democrat majorities.
Both chambers surged further left when Barack scumbag/ liar-nObama was elected in 2008 but, after two years of seeing where the “anointed one” was taking us, they reversed course in the 2010 midterm elections. The House made a huge lurch back to Republican control. While the Senate also moved significantly right in 2010, it would take another four years before it too moved back into Republican control.
Currently, Democrats control the House by a mere eight seats. The Senate is evenly split 50-50, leaving the vice president to cast the deciding vote in a deadlock. In other words, leftists are holding on by the skin of their teeth, and they know it.
If history is a harbinger of things to come, we can expect “buyer’s remorse” in the 2022 midterm elections. Both the House and Senate should lurch far into Republican majority territory. If that occurs, it will neuter the president and the progressive Left’s agenda.
The Left was taught a lesson after ramming its agenda down the throats of Americans during scumbag/liar-nObama’s first two years in office while they controlled both chambers of Congress. When Republicans took control of the House in 2010 and the Senate in 2014, they helped prevent Obama from inflicting too much further significant damage during his last six years in office.
Leftists aren’t going to let that happen again. This explains why they are frantically implementing their agenda during bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s first two years in office. They know if they can get their programs and policies implemented now, the chance that a Republican-controlled Congress will reverse that is slim. One need look no further than scumbag/liar-nObamaCare to validate that assessment.
As Ronald Reagan famously said in 1964: “No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.”
The ultimate question is where the GOP learned a lesson. What will Republicans do when they retake Congress in the 2022 midterm elections? Will they have the intestinal fortitude to cleanse the viruses and parasites that the progressive Left is injecting into America’s body? Or will they, à la scumbag/liar-nObamaCare, simply allow the infection to go on untreated?
In November 2022, we need to ensure that we elect Republicans who will truly take back America. If we don’t, we will squander that silver lining we now see in the storm clouds swirling around us. ~The Patriot Post

DeSantis Is Standing Up to the Weenies
They have been called many things: amoebas, spineless cowards, weaklings, and other names not suitable for print in a family newspaper.
The modern characterization for many politicians who refuse to take a stand, especially in the midst of the growing and rapid threat of American socialism, is the word “weenie.”
People fear being called names for expressing personal convictions (assuming they have any) and so they either say nothing or they go along to get along.
Not Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, who increasingly resembles the type of leader the country needs as the bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden administration appears to try and transform us into a nation the polar opposite of what the Founders intended and the Constitution prescribes.
Following President bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s criticism of Texas and Florida for refusing to bow to Washington dictates, shifting CDC vaccination and mask “guidelines” and the Delta variant — and by implication their governors — DeSantis fired back.
Responding to bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s statement that if DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott won’t help fight the pandemic, they should “get out of the way,” DeSantis responded at a news conference. I will quote him at length because it is important for the context and to sense the power behind his words.
“I think the question is, we can either have a free society, or we can have a biomedical security state … bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden suggests if you don’t do lockdown policies, then you should ‘get out of the way’ … If you’re coming after the rights of parents in Florida, I’m standing in your way…”
He was just getting started: “If you’re trying to deny kids a proper education, I’m gonna stand in your way. … If you’re going to restrict, impose mandates, if you’re trying to ruin their jobs and their livelihoods … and lock people down … I’m standing in your way.”
DeSantis then delivered this rejoinder to bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden: “Why don’t you do your job? Why don’t you get this border secure? Until you do that, I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you.”
If that isn’t enough to get your liberty blood boiling, then consider these quotes from three historical figures — and a more recent one — who understood that freedom is not the natural state of humanity, otherwise most of the world would be free. Liberty must constantly be renewed.
Benjamin Franklin: “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Abraham Lincoln: “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.”
John Basil Barnhill: “When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.”
Ronald Reagan, who stood up against Soviet communism and was the opposite of a weenie: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
Liberties lost are difficult to regain. There are plenty of examples in ancient and more contemporary history that prove the point.
Yes, get vaccinated if your doctor approves, but if the above quotes are insufficient for you to stand against the mob of politicians, unelected bureaucrats, teachers unions, medical “experts,” many in the sycophantic media and medical dictators then you may display all the symptoms of a weenie. ~The Patriot Post

Olympics USA Beats Communist China
The Summer Olympics officially ended Sunday, and I have great news for you — which, oddly, you may not have heard.
The great news is, the United States won!
And we did it in dramatic fashion — by edging out communist China. Not only that, our athletes, except for a few, showed pride in and love for our country.
Throughout the Olympics, the United States was winning in total medals won. But we were in second place to China in the number of gold medals won.
Going into the last day of the games, communist China had three more gold medals than we did with only a few events left.
But American athletes rose to the occasion and won four gold medals on the final day — giving us 39 gold medals to communist China’s 38.
The U.S. also easily triumphed in the total medal count — 113 total medals to China’s 88.
Many Americans may have bought into the idea that the Olympics are not about countries but only about individual athletes. Well, certainly the athletes are central. But make no mistake about it — the Olympics are a peaceful competition among nations.
Virtually every nation in the world understands that. If communist China had prevailed, the national celebration there would have been unrestrained. But our elites keep telling us it’s inappropriate to display our national pride during the Olympics. Thus, the media, for the most part, downplayed our victory.
In 1936, American sprinter Jesse Owens, a black man, competed in Hitler’s Berlin and defeated the Nazi “Aryan” athletes. His victory was important.
At the height of the Cold War in 1980, the U.S. hockey team made up of amateurs went out onto the ice and defeated the mighty Red Army team of the Soviet Union. Our country erupted in a spasm of patriotism. The reaction was a forerunner of the patriotic wave that would lead to Ronald Reagan’s victory in November.
Today we face a genocidal communist China that believes they represent the future, and we represent the past. They intend to be the world’s number one power. It matters that we just beat them. Take a moment and celebrate.
Globalism’s Harvest of Hate
Today’s “sacrifice” on the altar of left-wing lunacy is Father Olivier Maire, a 60-year-old French priest. Father Olivier Maire was stabbed or beaten to death (accounts vary) by Emmanuel Abayisenga, a 40-year-old illegal migrant from Rwanda.
On July 18, 2020 Abayisenga confessed to setting fire to the historic 15th century Nantes Cathedral. He was recently released from prison and placed under “judicial control” which ended up being no control at all. He promptly murdered the priest.
Western elites continue to sing the praises of globalism while churches and synagogues burn in Europe. Here there are attacks on churches and Christian statuary virtually every week. In Canada over 40 churches in recent months have been targets of arson.
Walkout Wednesday
While there’s strong support for the COVID-19 vaccines, America was built on freedom and Americans cherish their individual liberty. So, it’s not surprising that there is strong and reasonable opposition to overbearing mandates, whether they’re coming from Big Government or big business, the White House or the Waffle House.
Americans don’t like being told what to do!
Unfortunately, there is a growing push for mandates, whether it’s New York City’s “VAX PASS,” certain companies requiring their workers to be vaccinated or schools requiring children to wear masks.

Fixing the bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden Bug
“Those who fail to heed history are doomed to repeat it.” This aphorism has been attributed to Edmund Burke, George Santayana and Winston Churchill. Regardless of who said or wrote it first, President bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Joe Biden should heed it now, before his poorly planned bug out from Afghanistan and his “phase-out of combat troops” from Iraq become disastrous retreats like the sad finale of the Vietnam War in Saigon on April 30, 1975.
On April 14, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden foolishly announced all U.S. troops would depart Afghanistan by Sept. 11. His crack national security team subsequently decided to bug out on the 20th anniversary of the deadliest attack on our homeland since Pearl Harbor wouldn’t play well, so they moved the date to Sept. 1. Then, on July 26, “Jumping Joe” decided “all U.S. combat troops will be out of Iraq by the end of the year.”
Nobody wants our military to stay in Afghanistan and Iraq forever, but how we conduct these exits is crucial. Announcing to enemies in advance the timing of any military endeavor has never been a good idea. Successfully executing a “withdrawal” (or “retreat” as Sun Tzu describes the maneuver) requires “most careful preparation … reassuring allies” and “deception to confound enemies.”
Apparently, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s team failed to consider these measures prior to issuing their “Afghanistan withdrawal” order. It was only after we and veterans like Republican Rep. Mike Waltz demanded the rescue of our brave Afghan “Terps” and their families did the White House agree to evacuate them. Now, with the Taliban waging a major countrywide offensive against the Kabul government, the situation looks increasingly like what happened in Saigon in April 1975.
It’s possible the Taliban recall what happened back then better than bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden. In the spring of 1975, the North Vietnamese launched a full-scale assault into South Vietnam. On April 8, President Gerald Ford made a desperate appeal for Congress to approve emergency funding for U.S. efforts to save the Republic of Vietnam. On April 14, freshman U.S. Sen. bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden, along with a majority of his Democrat “colleagues,” said no.
The consequence was inevitable. Tens of thousands of our South Vietnamese allies were subsequently slaughtered or sent to re-education camps where they were brutally indoctrinated in communist ideology. Only those who made it to helicopters at or near our Saigon embassy or those who managed to escape in leaky boats were spared Hanoi’s wrath. What awaits loyal Afghans at the hands of the Taliban will make Hanoi’s re-education camps look like day care centers.
Averting an ignominious, Saigon-like disaster in Afghanistan must now be bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s top priority. None of what must take place in the days ahead will be easy. At minimum, the bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration has to:
No. 1: Recognize the Taliban clearly intend to seize total control over Afghanistan. Therefore, plans must be devised for preventing Islamist terror groups from using Afghanistan or Iraq as safe havens for launching attacks against the U.S.
No. 2: Recognize the Iranian theocracy as America’s number one adversary in the region.
No. 3: Ensure access and connectivity for employing U.S. airpower in the region.
No. 4: Reinforce the Abraham Accords as essential for both Israeli and U.S. national security.
No. 5: Recognize the communist People’s Republic of China will be the ultimate victor if Kabul 2021 becomes another Saigon 1975.
In our new book, “We Didn’t Fight for Socialism,” more than 500 military veterans made clear not only did they not fight for socialism; they didn’t fight to give up either. Ending America’s longest war is the right thing to do. But doing the right thing the wrong way can result in disaster.
