U.S. Attorney John Durham has reportedly opened a new front in his investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.

According to a report, Durham is seeking grand jury testimony from computer scientists behind an allegation that Donald Trump’s real estate company had a secret communications channel with Alfa Bank.

The Alfa-Trump theory was first floated in October 2016, but was debunked in the Justice Department inspector general’s report on the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign.

Durham is also reportedly seeking the testimony of Daniel Jones, a former Senate Intelligence Committee investigator who partnered with Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele in 2017.

The U.S. attorney investigating the origins of the Trump-Russia probe is seeking grand jury testimony from a group of computer scientists behind a since-debunked allegation that Donald Trump’s real estate company had covert computer contacts with a Russian bank, according to a report.

The New Yorker reports that John Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, has contacted the scientists in recent weeks seeking their testimony.

According to the magazine, investigators have told potential witnesses they are investigating whether two pseudonymous computer experts gave false information to the U.S. government regarding a covert communications channel between the Russian bank, Alfa Bank, and the Trump Organization.

  • Trump and Barr are big time into draining the swamp. Way to go!

    • Stop it... you are smoking something and it isn't cigarettes.  Barr couldn't find the swamp if he fell in it.  You did get one thing correct Barr is big time into the swamp only he isn't there to drain it.

    • Tell me! What do you think the chances are that indictments are successful when they get to the deep state judges right now?

    •  "What do you think the chances are that indictments are successful when they get to the deep state judges right now?"  Who knows, as no indictments have ever reached a deep state Judge... I do know this, indictments sent have a lot better chance of being acted upon than those NEVER SENT.

    • Isn't that getting the cart before the horse... One needs a criminal complaint referral to a Grand Jury, for an 'indictment' before referring a case to the Court for an arrest warrant, and trial.  Oh, just a few details that you may want to consider when reviewing the activity to drain the swamp.  I wonder, can Barr spell Criminal Complaint, Grand Jury, Indictment, or affidavit for an arrest warrant?

Since all of the above court documents are public documents and none are on record for any of the suspected criminal conduct by former top leaders in government ... it stands to reason that nothing significant is about to occur in the way of draining the swamp.

    • Trump is ts also complaining about the lack of action by Barr. I totally support Trump and I hope that he'll get Barr to take care of business before too long and before it's too late.

    • Barr has already proven himself.....

    • Yeap, AG Barr has proven himself to be part of the deep state and absolutely worthless when it comes to going after corruption in government.  Hell he is probably the author of most of the corruption.

    • I guarantee you if Trump loses the very words Deep State and Swamp will be removed from the DOJ and FBI Lexicon.

    • The DC Circut has a whole host of conservative Judges.... most of these indictments would come out of the_ DC circuit... However, if anyone knows how to work the courts it should be AG Barr or US Attorney Durham.  Their lack of prosecution has nothing to do with the Judges.  P/S Trial by jury is the only COnstitutional guarantee ... and waiving that for trial by a judge should be challenged by the Prosecutor... the Constitution provides for no such waiver and there is a good reason for that... jury's are more difficult to stack than a corrupt judge is to bribe.
