A man convicted of attempting to set fire to a high school during the Black Lives Matter riots in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd has been sentenced to five years probation.

Mohamed Hussein Abdi, 20, was handed the probation sentence in a U.S. District Court in St. Paul, Minnesota, Thursday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit arson, according to court documents obtained by Fox News.

Abdi was also ordered to pay just over $34,000 in restitution to Gordon Parks High School in St. Paul.

Court documents state that the sentence was “imposed pursuant to the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984.”

The presiding judge, Reagan-appointed District Court Judge David S. Doty, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

Abdi was arrested in June 2020, a month after he entered the high school through a broken glass door during the Floyd riot and could be seen on security footage pouring liquid from a white container onto the floor and then into a trashcan. Abdi then took a liquid-soaked garment and sent fire to the trash can before running away as flames and smoke began to spread.

    • How about if we call them the ENEMY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

  • A leftist, a Muslim, he hates America,  naturally he gets a break so he can do it agani, and again!

  • Should have been 10 years hard labor.

    • 20 yrs.!

    • I said hard labor, like chain gangs of the 20's.  Road work and cleaning up the countryside. The way it is now, it cost 110k a year to house one inmate. We need to cut this down by 80%.  Infact, It was Sheriff Joe Arpaio (In Arizona ) who created the ' Tent City Jail':
He had jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them. He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights Cut off all but 'G' movies. He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects. Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.
He took away cable TV until he found out there was a Federal Court Order that required Cable TV for jails, so he Hooked up the Cable TV again letting in The Disney Channel and The Weather Channel only. When asked why the weather channel He Replied, "so they will know how hot It's gonna Be while they’re working on my chain gangs." He cut off coffee since It has no nutritional value. When the inmates complained, he told them, 'This Isn't The Ritz/Carlton......If You Don't Like It, Don't Come Back.'

    • They should  work and earn their keep.

    • Here is the other side of the equation.

    • we need to adapt a National Point Justice System.

Example: murder, child rape etc = 100 points. attempted murder, armed robbery/ *Domestic terrorism = 75 points, Felons and illegals caught with a firearm = 50 points, Traffic ticket if found guilty 1 or more, false allegations, equil to the crime etc. When they reach 100 points, execute them! The magic number for illegals would be 50. This would include people presently incarcerated.

Domestic terrorist: Anyone that knowingly disrupts or destroys other people’s property, rights or privileges.

  • Investigation should have gone further - he should have been looked at as a terrorist.  I guess Minnesota has no use for law and order.
