Congress members are attempting to verify how the prisoners (defendants) from January 6th are being treated. They have asked questions that have gone unanswered for months, so they went to the DOJ and now the DC Prison, and neither permitted them any access! They accused these Congressmen of tresspassing, but they have a right to inspect the facility, just as they have inspected other facilities.
The DC Prison did not explain, and they locked them out. This is after stories have come up about at least one defendant being beaten and losing his eyesight in one eye and others being kept in solitary confinement and at least one in shackles. Another story not mentioned is one defendant was denied medicine for Cancer. Another concern is whether these defendants have access to the evidence to defend themselves. That was what they wanted to talk to the DOJ about, but they refused! These are defendants who mostly just tresspassed!
