  • Treason of the highest order. The death penalty.

    • I am not responding to anyone in particular but just generally speaking.  I hope it is allowed to do just that.

First of all I think it is way out of line to suggest that someone is not a patriot based on a posted opinion. There are many folks on this site who served in the Armed Forces of the United States, myself included, and many more have not.  That fact does not make anyone exceptional, and it certainly does not necessarily make one a patriot.

Secondly, reading the Bible and quoting scripture does not make one a Christain. I know. I have read the Bible and it tells me in pretty plain language what I lack. I do appreciate the sharing of beliefs, but quoting scripture out of context is not sharing anything worthwhile.  I know this too, for  I have done it.  I have learned that it is sometimes best not to reply when receiving such, but not always, just usually.

Reviewing the Constitution is necessary to understand what a patriot should know, but reading the Bible is absolutely required in order to become a Christain.  Believing what it says is how all should conduct their lives.

I once had this silly notion that I was a big shot.  Then, I happened to meet a little shot.  Afterwards, I understood that I wasn't a big shot at all.  I lost friends in Viet Nam. Both physically and mentally.  I think the second may be the worst.  But, hang on.  The point is coming.

"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."   Do we realize that God is meek?  Meek does not mean weak.  Patience and longsuffering is not weakness. Yet many think it is.  Big shots do. And Satan is a big shot.  Does anyone want to be a big shot too?

The founding of this country was an act of God.  It needs to be viewed that way because it truly was. And, it was founded for a purpose. That too, is a fact.  A Godly purpose.  And it is revealed in the Bible.  Where else could it be.  The United States of America has been a blessing to the entire world.  Not because of us.  But because of God.  Now, our blessings are being taken away. Do we understand why?  We have become a nation of liars, murderers, mocking marriage with homosexual unions, and removing God from our lives.  We are complaining about traitors in our own government, people who are and have been so-called leaders.  Big shots.  Not a humble person in the whole lot.  And all we want to do is......what? Kill them?  See them dead.

Sometimes, no, often, I do.  But does that make us whole?  Repentance is better.  None of us want what we truly deserve.

    • Dale... very well put.

I would add the he who is merciful shall receive mercy... If ever mercy was needed our Nation and its People need it now. Repentance and 2 Chronicles 7:14 apply here. I have seen enough death and understand how evil can ruin otherwise good intentions and men... let us be firm but merciful when we apply the law... Justice tempered with grace and mercy.

God hath said in 2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."

Let us with patients and mercy run this race... that all men may yet repent and come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His Love... the Dead can not repent, nor be embraced by the Love of God and His Family of Believers. Thanks for the sobering comments Brother Dale.

    • Dale, you make some excellent points. First off, you're welcome to post about anyone's viewpoint, especially with salient points. Unfortunately, MANY here have CALLED FOR actions that are neither constitutional, thus not patriotic, nor Biblical. But we must remember that despite the "liberal" propaganda, not all viewpoints are equally valid. The rule of Constitutional Law applied with Biblical compassion is vital to a functioning Republic.

You make that clear in your statement about why American was created, it's purpose, and it's effect. Although we're not a theocracy, and never should be until He comes, our systems of Western Civilization and the Constitution are based on Biblical principles. Sadly, like all fallen people, we've not lived up to those principles. I know I haven't. But we mustn't therefore abandon them as liberals, progressives, socialists, and communists would have us do and embrace a godless socialist tyranny. Nor should we go to the other extreme and adopt an "extreme rightist" view and call for abandoning the Constitution and the Gospel as some have and demand Jacobean type retribution, even for the miscreants who've betrayed the Republic.

I admit I've called some unpatriotic and unchristian. It's not to condemn them to hell (or to GITMO), something only God has the right to do, but to shock them by being harsh and calling them to reconsider, i.e., to repentance. Some, in their understandable anger and wrongheaded blood-lust, have taken umbrage at what I've posted. But I'll stand by my view that ONLY by adhering to the Constitution AND to the Gospel can we prevail at this time of crisis for the Republic.

Thanks very much for your comments.

By the way, some Scriptures do apply - to all of us, like 1 Chronicles 7:14.

    • Amen Roberto... could not have said it better.

2Chronicles 7:13-15 follows: "If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people, 14and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. 15Now My eyes  be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.…" Berean Study Bible

    • Amen.

    • Should we not humble ourselves as a nation... pray and seek God's face and turn from our wicked ways.... that God may hear from heaven, forgive us our sin, and heal our land? Shall we not show mercy; too, obtain mercy and grace for grace, that all men may repent?

God works in mysterious ways His will to perform in man... is the current plague a call to repentance, will our nation's leaders turn to God for mercy and salvation. That the plague in our midst may end? And, where comes this evil upon us, if not from our own pride, neglect, and failure to retain God in our knowledge and in our children's hearts? How may we judge others when we are under judgment? If the salt of the Earth losses its savor... its power to preserve... how then shall we be saved?

Repent, saith the Lord of Hosts, before I come... that the righteous in my House shall not see corruption.

    • Once again, AMEN. We must hold the Bible in one hand and the Constitution in the other to convince people to see the light on a hill.

    • very good Dale what you said to make me think differently.
