There is no one cure for addiction. But you should understand that when addicts are in their addiction, they cannot see the things people are pointing out to them. There is no common or rational thinking at that point. Something has to happen to stop it. It is called hitting your bottom. This is different for every addict. For some it is legal issues, for some it is family, friends or loved ones. Some will sadly never find that bottom. Never give up on anyone with a drug or alcohol problem, because we never know when they might hit that bottom. Once clean the real work starts, changing, thoughts behaviors and learning to deal with life on life's terms and fighting the addiction itself .
Laurel, there are programs to help addicts kick the habit but they have to want better for themselves and their families!!!!! I am involved in a Celebrate Recovery program at one of the churches I attend!!!!! All I do is open the door and say hello but I have seen a lot of people better their lives over the last 7 1/2 years!!!!! Using drugs is a choice but once addicted it is a sickness that is hard to overcome!!!!! It takes a desire to want better and having a Christ based program is the best way to cure the dependence!!!!!!!!!!
I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who dies of a drug overdose. Drug use and addiction is the result of a choice, and when a person chooses to put into their body a lethal drug, they suffer the consequence of their choice. It is really easy to avoid death by fentanyl, or any other drug. Don't use fentanyl or any other drug. The more drug addicts that die, the lower demand for drugs will be.
This is incredible! Besides closing the border and giving heavy prison sentences to those that sell this evil stuff, what are we doing toward educating the people about abstaining from drug use? Why do we have such a large number of people who can't seem to say NO ??? Have they lost their desire to live? I just don't understand why anyone would go down that road!

That's because every president since Reagan but Trump was in support of the Establishment's New World Order.
