On Monday, Nikole Hannah-Jones, founder of The New York Times‘ “1619 Project,” admitted that her project is not a history and that the battle over it is about “memory” — a fight to “control the national narrative.” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) has moved to defund schools that teach the project.

She claimed the 1619 Project “never pretended to be a history,” but said it involves “using history and reporting to make an argument.”
“The fight here is about who gets to control the national narrative, and therefore, the nation’s shared memory of itself. One group has monopolized this for too long in order to create this myth of exceptionalism,” Hannah-Jones added. “If their version is true, what do they have to fear of 1619?”

So, the 1619 Project (sponsored by the NY Times) is "not history;" It only aims to change our perception of history. Or something. But if it is not history, then why is it treated as history? Because, um, well, it is presented as history. And as history, it is fraudulent. It would be welcome if that were recognized, but it is not.

The quickest way to defund public education is to empower parents with vouchers for education... A voucher system that permits parents to choose where they send their children to school will either bring major reforms in the public school system or it will soon be totally abandoned and replaced by private schools where REAL EDUCATION can take place ... rather than, the Marxist Indoctrination and dumbing down our children... are suffering under.

Seeking to change one's memory by challenging them with a new narrative is BRAINWASHING... It is indoctrination.
