{ americanthinker.com } ~ For three years, Democrats accused the president of having stolen the 2016 election. Now, they maintain, he is trying to steal the 2020 election... In reality, it was scumbag/liar-Hillary and members of the scumbag/;liar-nObama administration and probably scumbag/liar-nObama himself who tried to steal the 2016 election and it is liar-Pelosi, scumbag/liar-Schiff, and scumbag liar-Nadler who are trying to steal 2020. liar-Pelosi, scumbag/liar-Schiff, and scumbag liar-Nadler are using the power of their offices to erase the 2016 election, steal the 2020 Presidential Election, and damage Republican senators in purple states enough to flip the upper chamber to Democratic Party control. Running on the issues against the successful Trump administration does not appeal to them. Instead, they are using impeachment as the means to rig the election to get control of the presidency and the Senate. Should Republicans win a majority in the House this November -- not an entirely unlikely prospect with polls showing the public turning against the amorphous impeachment effort -- one of the first orders of business for the new majority leader should be to initiate Articles of Impeachment against scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff. The charge should be “Abuse of Power.” After that, Republicans can do the same to liar-Pelosi and scumbag liar-Nadler. If Democrats were honest I know, dream on, they would admit to the world they are impeaching Donald J. Trump for purely personal and political reasons. Democrats, as a party, were unable to believe that, since they were on the side of all that is good and just, Donald J. Trump won the presidency fair and square. For liar-Pelosi, scumbag/liar-Schiff, and scumbag liar-Nadler, however, it’s personal. We know this because just as they can look into Trump’s soul and know his motivations, so can we do the same to see theirs. liar-Pelosi is an important person. Did you know, she’s third in line for the presidency, immediately after Pence? No conflict of interest there. As liar-Speaker of the House, she considers herself to be the equal of the president and not merely a partisan in control of one half of one branch of the three branches of government. She demands respect and Trump refuses to give it to her. liar-Nancy made up her mind when Trump left her standing on the tarmac surrounded by her luggage and 62 of her closest friends when he yanked her USAF plane in a budget dispute. Most people aren’t aware that liar-Pelosi travels almost exclusively on United States Air Force jets whenever she wants, to wherever she desires, and with whomever she wants along. That particular junket was a “fact finding” tour of Europe. Did I mention her transports always have catered meals and an open bar?...

{ americanthinker.com } ~ You’ve got to hand it to the Democrats -- they can hold their caucus together for the flimsiest of causes. The GOP, though, has all these RINOs who have to establish their independence... they’re willing to break party unity when it serves their own ambitions. Three senators – rino-Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, rino-Susan Collins of Maine, and rino-Mitt Romney of Utah – are rumored to be willing for witnesses to be called in the impeachment trial now underway in the Senate. Obviously, such a slowdown benefits the Democrats, who want the impeachment to headline news reports as long as possible. Further and more importantly, it was the House’s responsibility to build its case by compiling evidence and presenting it to the Senate for a trial; it is not the Senate’s responsibility to gather evidence.  The Democratic case lacks “overwhelming evidence” as Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa said, calling the whole process “a political exercise.” Ernst and others, like Lindsey Graham, are unwilling to extend the trial and accomplish the Democrat’s goal of dominating headlines in the run-up to the November elections. The question is whether the three RINOs mentioned above will put the good of the country above their own emotional needs or self-interest. Take Senator rino-Mitt Romney. Remember when he needed endorsements when running for President?  He went to New York to ask for Trump’s endorsement. He got it. Remember, after he lost the Presidency, he ran for senator from Utah. He sought and received Trump’s endorsement. Typically, such political favors generate appreciation and are reciprocated. Not so with rino-Romney. With the usual caveats of being “deeply concerned” and finding it “very troubling,” rino-Romney turned against Trump over the Ukraine farce, calling the President’s actions illegal and unpresidential. Now that the impeachment circus has moved to the Senate for trial, rino-Romney is joining with those demanding witnesses. Digging deeper, it turns out that one of rino-Romney’s top advisors is a former high-ranking CIA official Joseph Cofer Black who, it just happens, is on the board of Burisma Holdings, the same company that has been so generous to Hunter Biden. There is little question that rino-Romney will ultimately do what benefits him most when it comes to his votes in the impeachment trial. Senator rino-Susan Collins is following the trial very closely and is taking copious notes. She reacted strongly to House Judiciary Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler’s accusation against the Republican senators; he claimed they voted “for a cover-up when they opposed subpoenas at the trial.” She sent a note to Chief Justice John Roberts and granted an interview to Politico complaining about the accusation. In this election year, Senator rino-Collins is between the proverbial rock and a hard place. She has to hold on to independent voters to win her fifth six-year term in November. She is showing the stress of the pressures to get her to push for witnesses and additional evidence. George Conway Kellyanne’s husband and well-known Anti-Trump tweeter who has founded a super-PAC opposing the president is demanding that rino-Collins “do her job” instead of “covering” for the president. Already, rino-Collins has shown her willingness to break ranks with the GOP; she voted as the lone Republican “for one of the 11 amendments proposed by Senate Minority Leader Chuck scumbag-Schumer” even though the amendment was doomed for defeat. It remains to be seen what she will consider in her personal best interest as the trial moves forward...  https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/01/that_trio_of_rino_rebels.html

{ jpost.com } ~ Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and the UAE on Tuesday issued statements welcoming the Trump administration's peace plan... "The Kingdom reiterates its support for all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian cause," said the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs."The kingdom appreciates the efforts of President Trump's administration to develop a comprehensive peace plan between the Palestinian and the Israeli sides, and encourages the start of direct peace negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, under the auspices of the United States," the statement reads. It also called to resolve any disagreements with aspects of the plan through negotiations, "to move forward the peace process to reach an agreement that achieves legitimate rights of the Palestinian people." Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad Bin Salman told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that "our position towards the Palestinian issue has not changed, all the Arabs and we are with you. { foxbusiness.com  } ~ President Trump signed the historic United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, replacing the scumbag/liar-Clinton-era North American Free Trade Agreement that he called a “disaster.”... The USMCA, which is the biggest trade deal of all-time, covers more than $1.3 trillion of commerce, and is the second major trade deal secured by the Trump administration this year. The agreement has already been ratified by Mexico, but not yet by Canada. "You're going to see more jobs all across the economy, in the automobile sector, in the agricultural sector and of course in the energy sector as well," Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette told FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo on Wednesday. The USMCA requires 75 percent of automobile components be manufactured in the United States, Canada or Mexico in order to avoid tariffs. By 2023, some 40 to 45 percent of automobile parts must be made by workers who earn at least $16 an hour. The agreement is expected to create 80,000 new jobs tied to the auto industry and bring in up to $30 billion of new investment in the sector. The pact will also open new markets for American wheat, poultry and eggs, among other things. "This is a colossal victory for our farmers and ranchers," Trump said at the signing ceremony. "Everybody said this was a deal that could not be done," he added, "but we got it done." Once fully implemented, the USMCA is expected to lift U.S. gross domestic product by as many as 1.2 percentage points and create up to 589,000 jobs, according to the International Trade Commission. After the trade deal was approved by the Senate on Jan. 16, by a vote of 89 to 10, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, hailed it as a "major achievement for President Trump and a very big win for the American people." The signing of the USMCA comes nearly two weeks after Trump inked an initial trade deal with China. Combined, the two agreements encompass more than $2 trillion worth of trade and could add as much as 1.7 percentage points to U.S. economic growth. The U.S. economy expanded at a 2.1 percent pace in the three months through September.   https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/trump-signs-usmca-job-market-boom

Escalation with Iran: Outcomes and implications

{ aei.org } ~ Mr. Chairman, Mr. Wilson, good morning. It’s always an hour to testify before this Committee, and the topic before us is an important one... The title of this hearing, I believe, misplaces what should be the appropriate focus on the Islamic Republic of Iran. Without overstating the case, I believe this is not a moment of “Escalation with Iran;” more likely, we are in for a short period of de-escalation in terms of direct conflict, and some escalation in the use of Iran’s proxies against US and allied targets. But that in some ways is a return to status quo ante in Tehran’s long shadow war against the Great Satan. And over-emphasizing that proxy war shifts focus from what is different about this moment. Iran is in a period of flux and stress unlike many we have seen in recent years. Internally, next door in Iraq and in Lebanon, home to Iran’s most important proxy Hezbollah, the regime is under enormous pressure. In conjunction with Qassem Soleimani’s death and the likely transition ahead after the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, those pressures create an opportunity for the United States. The key questions are what we do with that opportunity, what the actual policy of the United States is towards the Islamic Republic, and how the “maximum pressure” campaign will impact our aims. Read the full testimony here. (  https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/HFAC-testimony-1.28.20-final-00000002.pdf )

Arabian Gulf Citizens and Changing Views

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ Since General Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed by an American airstrike... it has become even clearer that the Middle East is divided. We find some here were supportive of the strike that rescued the world from a most dangerous terrorist; others were completely outraged. Is the Middle East, then, on the verge of new alliances and further fragmentation? The reactions of the Arab Gulf countries, including their citizens -- especially Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain -- are the same as Israel's. Other Arab countries and the Palestinian territories -- mainly Hamas, which is a client of Iran -- have responded quite differently. Arab Gulf societies often differ from other Arab and Muslim societies on their views about Israel. Lately, however, the most hostile rhetoric has disappeared, especially among the younger generations. It has, in fact, been largely replaced by a more moderate tone and a desire better to understand Israeli society. Many writers and political analysts from the Arab Gulf have written about the different political doctrines and perceived enemies among Arab Gulf countries and other Muslim countries, mainly from the Levant. A recent article by Kuwait's former minister of information, Saad Al-Ajmi, explains these differences. Arabs, he states, particularly the Palestinians, have been attributing all the problems in the region to Israel. As the Iranian regime has formally declared their occupation of four Arab capitals -- Baghdad, Damascus, Beirut, and Sanaa -- many of its members see only the supposed Israeli "occupation" and do not think about all the Arab and Muslim blood spilled by Iran and its proxies. To many Arabs and Muslims, only the Palestinian people seem to have been important. Sadly, this concern has often appeared to be less about the Palestinians' well-being, over which they do not seem unduly distressed -- having preferred to let them languish as second class citizens in  Jordan, Lebanon or Kuwait. Rather, expressions of concern often appear to have been a way of deflecting attention from the problems of governance at home...  https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15500/arabian-gulf-citizens-israel
