Can Trump Win by Losing?
There's no question the Ninth Circuit Court's ruling Thursday night upholding the stay against Donald Trump's lawful order on travel was entirely political and had nothing to do with Rule of Law. But Donald Trump didn't help his own legal case — either by promising a Muslim ban on the campaign trail (which the three-judge panel almost surely took into consideration) or by taunting the judiciary over the issue. That's not to say he was wrong on the merits of his criticism, but judges are human too and reacted accordingly.
Furthermore, as David French writes, "Critically, the Trump administration issued a significant executive order (and then defended it in court) without laying any real factual foundation for its finding. Next, the administration enforced the order in a haphazard and unnecessarily cruel manner, initially including even green-card holders in its scope. By slamming the door (at least temporarily) in their faces, it created a crisis atmosphere that not only ramped up the political stakes, it told the court that the administration didn't exactly know how to interpret its own order. This invites judicial meddling."
The judicial meddling was absolutely egregious. The court essentially opposed Trump's order because the judges don't like it, and in the process they usurped presidential authority on matters of national security. They used possible harm to individuals to make a ruling about an entire class of people, which makes a hash out of the Supreme Court's doctrine on legal standing.
Trump could have executed this better, and the courts absolutely got it wrong. But it's important to realize that this was also strategically calculated to play out in one of two ways: Either Trump got his way with the order (he didn't), or his base is (rightly) fired up about an activist judiciary just in time for Supreme Court confirmation hearings. Trump wins either way. And along the way, Trump successfully diverted media attention to a very temporary travel moratorium — i.e., not the most critical issue. (Unfortunately, he diverted his own attention from tax or health care reform to do that.) The charitable view is that this is an example of one of Trump's deal-making trademarks, "managed chaos," in which he keeps his opponents off balance, distracted and unaware of the right hook that is, ultimately, going to win the match. Let's hope he takes a step back, crafts a better vetting order, and does just that. ~The Patriot Post

Taylor, 54, was a Chevron supervisor who had spent three decades around Kern County’s Midway-Sunset field, the largest and most productive in the state. He and two co-workers had been dispatched to fix the “chimney” near an idled well known to spew scalding geysers of oil, water and rocks as high as 40 feet in the air. California was in the midst of an oil boom. Crude prices had soared above $100 per barrel, and pump jacks, pipes and power lines snaked across the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley, about two hours north of Los Angeles. The spouts at Well 20 that day were the result of an increasingly popular technique called cyclic steaming, in which steam is pumped into the earth to dislodge thick, tar-like crude. After a century of extraction, the easy oil was gone, and this was like filling an empty ketchup bottle with water to get the last few drops. At Immigration Law Enforcement

And much of the national left-wing media is simply apoplectic. Nearly seven hundred arrests made in raids conducted in at least twelve states.” President Trump applauded the operation in a news conference today with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau.” He plays a clip of President Trump, saying, ‘we’re actually taking people that are criminals, very, very hardened criminals in some cases, with a tremendous track record of abuse and problems, and we’re getting them out and that’s what I said I would do.'” “But the hyperventilation,” Dobbs notes, “from the national left-wing media has been relentless,” playing some of the hysterical, hand-wringing examples. “My goodness,” he notes sarcastically, “not sensationalistic in any form, did you think? If We Don't Let in Muslims to
America, They'll Kill Us

The Connecticut Democrat was joining a chorus of the clueless warning us that if we don't let Muslims into America, they'll join ISIS and kill us... Singing their brains out in the same stupid chorus were Senator McCain and Senator Graham, "a self-inflicted wound in the fight against terrorism", Senator Ben Sasse, "the terrorist recruiters win by telling kids that America is banning Muslims" and Senator Heitkamp, "confirms the lie terrorists tell their recruits: that America is waging a war on Islam." Senator Cardin went one better by whining that keeping potential Islamic terrorists out, "promises to make the U.S. less safe and places our courageous servicemen and women in even greater danger as they fight against terrorism." Just tell it to the Marines shot and killed by a Muslim immigrant at a Chattanooga recruiting station and Naval reserve center. There's only one problem with this hostage crisis theory of immigration. It's insane...Remember these senators when you vote again, vote them out.

A novel idea: Revoke George Soros' citizenship

{wnd.com} ~ If Donald Trump wants to reform election practices in the U.S. – and, frankly, make America great again, he really ought to give serious thought to revoking the fraudulent dual citizenship of George Soros, the puppeteer of the American radical left.
One thing I’ve admired about Trump is his willingness to take the fight to the opposition.
The opposition to making America great again and bringing integrity back to U.S. elections centers around Soros – who mysteriously was granted dual citizenship in 1961. Presumably, he bought it, like he tries to buy everything else he wants, including the chaos he has successfully spread in our streets, our elections, our culture.
Soros is an immigrant from Hungary, yet he still maintains his citizenship there. That’s something America discourages. It’s hard to get.
Yet, he has done so while fomenting riots in the streets and spreading anti-American ideas with his vast wealth.
He has also been convicted of securities crimes.
Why is a man like this permitted to use his wealth to have such profound political and cultural influence within our country?
I haven’t seen anyone else ask this question, but it’s long past time.
How and why is a foreigner allowed to contribute vast sums of money into America’s election process?
If the new credo is going to be America First, we should really consider kicking this guy right out of the country. It should be as high a priority as keeping terrorists out.
He’s a megalomaniac, once writing: “I fancied myself as some kind of god … If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me in trouble.”
In elaborating on that idea, he told Britain’s Independent newspaper: “It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out.”
In his book, “The Bubble of American Supremacy,” he said the U.S. is a “threat to the world,” run by a Republican Party that is the devil child of an unholy alliance between “market fundamentalists” and “religious fundamentalists.” It is, he claims, a “supremacist” nation.
So why would he want to be a citizen of the U.S.? To fundamentally change its course in his own warped way.
He’s certainly no “philanthropist.” Just read what he told the New York Times in 1994: “I am sort of a deus ex machina. I am something unnatural. I’m very comfortable with my public persona because it is one I have created for myself. It represents what I like to be as distinct from what I really am. You know, in my personal capacity I’m not actually a selfless philanthropic person. I’ve very much self-centered.”
Here’s how he described himself to biographer Michael Kaufman: “I am kind of a nut who wants to have an impact.”
But it gets even worse.
Here’s what he said on British television: “Next to my fantasies about being God, I also have very strong fantasies of being mad. In fact, my grandfather was actually paranoid. I have a lot of madness in my family. So far I have escaped it.”
In his book, “Soros on Soros,” he wrote: “I do not accept the rules imposed by others. … And in periods of regime change, the normal rules don’t apply.”
So, again, I ask: Why is this man permitted to retain U.S. citizenship?
Is it only the money – so much of it he uses to spread strife and division within the U.S.?
If we’re going to clean things up in America, we should start by giving this guy an unceremonious boot.
