Earth Day — Signing the Paris Climate Agreement  For this year's rendition of Earth Day, the stakes couldn't be higher. More than 130 nations will gather to formally sign the Paris Climate Agreement at the United Nations in New York. Nothing could better signify Earth Day than a global gaggle of government leaders burning fossil fuels on their way to forcing us to spend a lot of green to preserve a little green, all while expanding their control over our lives.
While Congress has not ratified the agreement — nor are there any plans to — the nObama administration argues that its own assent is all that is necessary. Once 55 or more nations that represent 55% of global greenhouse gas emissions sign, the Paris accord can become effective as early as November 2017. The United States and China, which has also pledged to sign, together make up 38% of emissions. Meanwhile, a number of smaller nations are willing to sign in the hope of becoming beneficiaries of the inevitable wealth transfer the UN is sure to facilitate.
We've talked about the racket known as Earth Day many times on these pages, but climate alarmists are now shrieking that 2016 will be the warmest year on record, and that we have to DO SOMETHING before the global average temperature rises more than two degrees Celsius from pre-industrial values. "We are at a critical juncture when it comes to preserving our climate," warned Michael Mann, the "climate researcher" who's best known for the discredited "hockey stick" graph of global temperatures over the centuries, and for his omission of relevant data that failed to support his theory.
Unfortunately, no one has conclusively proven that our current climate is the optimal or "normal" one, either. Did you know, for example, as "skeptical environmentalist" Bjorn Lomborg points out, that about 0.5% of all deaths are heat-related, while more than 7% are cold-related?
It's worth noting too that climate alarmists aren't the only ones predicting a record warm year. Climate "deniers" like meteorologist Joe Bastardi have been forecasting higher temperatures this year because of weather patterns.
Despite all that, Barack nObama is plunging head-first into the Paris agreement as a continuation of his quest to wipe out the coal industry through power plant regulations and keeping other abundant energy sources off limits.
Yet not only is there a cost in jobs lost in the energy sector, but also a real increase in what's known as "green energy poverty," an economic condition where families spend more than 10% of their income on heating and other domestic energy costs. While the relatively low price of natural gas helps keep heating costs down, government subsidies and outright mandates for "renewable energy," such as wind and solar power, bend the cost curve upward — sort of like a hockey stick.
Yet a change in administration, such as one to Ted Cruz, or, to a lesser extent, Donald slump liar-Trump, will provide little relief from the Paris provisions. Buried in the Paris Climate Agreement is language preventing any nation from withdrawing within the first three years after it takes effect, with a further cooling-off period of one year. In essence, given a possible effective date of November 2017, the next president is stuck with this agreement. One silver lining is that there is little in the way of strict enforcement, as that would make the agreement a treaty requiring Senate ratification, something nObama scrupulously sought to avoid.
So let's recap: Today we celebrate a completely fabricated holiday (which occurs on the anniversary of Vladimir Lenin's birth, no less) by signing an agreement of dubious legality and limited enforcement mechanisms in order for do-gooders to try to solve a problem that mankind has little, if anything, to do with. Sounds like a perfect example of liberalism to us.  -The Patriot Post

 OPINION IN BRIEF
Ryan Anderson: "Curt Schilling has a right to say biological men don't belong in women's bathrooms in whatever controversial way he wants. And ESPN has a right to give Caitlyn Jenner the 'Arthur Ashe Courage Award' for being a men's sports icon who now publicly identifies as a woman. And whether we agree or disagree with Schilling's message or ESPN's isn't the point. The bigger issue is that ESPN, like any other company, has a right to control its message, which means it should be generally free to make employment decisions based on its values, not Curt Schilling's, and certainly not the government's. The same is true for religious institutions, only more so. While ESPN is committed to being 'inclusive,' it's a large corporation whose main focus is reporting sports in ways that make money. Religious institutions and some family businesses, on the other hand, have more robust substantive commitments driven by faith, not profits alone. ... ESPN didn't want to be associated with Curt Schilling's message. The same is true for the bakers, florists, and photographers, only more so. They have beliefs about marriage — that it's the union of husband and wife — and they don't want to be forced by the government to convey a contrary message. ... If you're cheering ESPN today, remember that freedom needs to be a two-way street. Even if you disagree with the beliefs of religious schools and bakers, protect their freedoms. Respect everyone's rights — even if, especially if, you disagree with them."   -The Patriot Post

slump liar-Trump Humiliated, Cruz Triumphant...

{redstate.com} ~ Once again, Senator Ted Cruz blew Donald slump liar-Trump’s amateurish operation out of the water on Saturday, crushing the slump liar-Donald in a near-total victory... At stake: who is sent to the convention as a delegate. Those elected to represent are in almost all cases only bound to vote for the primary or caucus winner on the first ballot. After that they can pretty much do what they please. So sending loyal supporters as delegates is an essential part of the nominating process. There were 94 delegates up for grabs on Saturday, and Cruz went for the jugular. {gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ Turkey has threatened to renege on a landmark deal to curb illegal migration to the European Union if the bloc fails to grant visa-free travel to Europe for Turkey's 78 million citizens by the end of June... If Ankara follows through on its threat, it would reopen the floodgates and allow potentially millions of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East to flow from Turkey into the European Union. Under the terms of the EU-Turkey deal, which entered into effect on March 20, Turkey agreed to take back migrants and refugees who illegally cross the Aegean Sea from Turkey to Greece. In exchange, the European Union agreed to resettle up to 72,000 Syrian refugees living in Turkey, and pledged up to 6 billion euros ($6.8 billion) in aid to Turkey during the next four years...     http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7914/turkey-visa-free-travel

{newsmax.com} ~ Any Republican candidate entering the party's national convention with a plurality of delegates and not a majority is not eligible to clinch the nomination... seven former national chairmen of the Republican National Committee say in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece. They did not mention GOP front-runner Donald slump liar-Trump, who has said he's sure he'll get the 1,237 delegates required for the nomination before the convention, but even if he doesn't, he believes that if he is close to that number and nobody else is, he should be nominated. {voanews.com} ~ North Korea is calling its submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) test on Saturday a “great success,” while South Korea labeled it a failure. Military analysts, however, are classifying the missile launch as a “successful failure.”... "You know, right now we're fighting the party because it's a rigged system, ok? It's a rigged system," he told a boisterous crowd in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Saturday. It may seem counterproductive, but slump liar-Trump's foot-stomping has served as a rallying cry to boost turnout and reinforce his appeal to voters who feel disenfranchised. Supreme Court Awards $2 Billion to Families

{punchingbagpost.com} ~ The image at left shows wreckage in the aftermath of the 1983 bombing of the US Marines barracks in Beirut, Lebanon that has since been linked to Iran. As decided by the Supreme Court this Wednesday, families of those who perished in this attack and other attacks are entitled to nearly $2 billion... Bank Markazi v. Peterson, which has been more then 30 years in the making, ended in a 6-2 ruling in favor of the relatives of the 241 Marines killed in the 1983 attack of which there are more than 1,300. On the losing side is Iran’s central bank Bank Markazi, which will lose $1.75 billion in frozen Iranian bonds currently held in New York by Citibank. The Iranian government argues that bipartisan legislation passed four years ago to ensure victims' survivors could collect money is in fact a violation of the US Constitution’s separation of powers doctrine. Political Correctness
and the Wussification of the Military
Susan Stamper Brown
.
.
{townhall.com} ~ A military parade may soon look less like a VE-Day parade down Times Square and more like a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, unless liberals in leadership stop using the U.S. military as a social engineering experiment.

Let us not forget the same president who confused "corps" with "corpses" and exchanged a traitor for terrorists, also promised to fundamentally transform America. What we didn't know is that transformation would begin with the U.S. military, the protector of our nation and our values.

The wussification of our military is in full swing, thanks to all the empty suit "yes-men" clad with stars and medals prancing about the Pentagon promoting political correctness [PC]. nObama has done a remarkable job hiring, inspiring and attracting military leaders who check their backbones along with their cell phones at the Pentagon's front door. Valiant leaders like Gen. Stanley McChrystal had to exit before the spine removal surgery could begin.

You may recall the Washington Times piece awhile back reporting that Arizona State University Army ROTC cadets were allegedly pressured by leadership to walk around in high heels to "raise awareness of sexual violence against women." Raise awareness? I reviewed the pictures and fail to grasp how male soldiers sporting heels, many in uniform, did anything but serve to demoralize those who voluntarily serve.

Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief wearing mom jeans sits in the Oval Office with his pen and phone diligently working to leave his legacy of a softer, gentler, more touchy-feely military.

Mr. nObama recently added verbiage to the Army's section of the 2017 DOD budget, ensuring the Army "will provide every Soldier and civilian equal opportunities to rise to the level of their merit regardless of their gender, their race, or their self-identity," reports the Washington Times.

While unbiased opportunity is terrific, what place does "self-identity" have in an organization steeped in conformity and tradition, not individualism?

In this brave, new age of "Call Me Caitlyn" and Rachel Dolezal, the corrosive effects of political correctness in our public restrooms will do the same to the military. As it stands, the next president will inherit a squishy U.S. military, so slimmed down and overrun by political correctness it is virtually unprepared to address the rising threats of a dangerous world and defend the United States as the Constitution so charges.

A Heritage Foundation's 2016 index of U.S. military strength report scored our military in aggregate, "only marginally able" and trending toward "weak" to defend the United States. The analysis also found that while the current military force is "capable of meeting the demands of a single major regional conflict," it would be "very hard-pressed" to do more -- and is most likely ill-equipped "to handle two nearly simultaneous major regional contingencies."

This extremely poor score couldn't come at a more dangerous time, considering the same analysis also reports a rise in threats to U.S. vital interests. No wonder Russian SU-24s recently felt so emboldened, they repeatedly harassed a U.S. Navy destroyer on maneuvers in the Baltic Sea.

Now that they've wrecked the military, maybe liberals should reconsider their stance on gun control and take up target practice, considering words like "pretty please" and "coexist" aren't in our avowed enemies' vocabularies.

During the 2015 Values Voter Summit in D.C., Maj. Gen. Robert Dees (U.S. Army-Ret.) nailed it when he said military readiness is being "degraded by social experimentation," telling listeners, "we have to fix the problem of moral readiness."

Without a doubt, neither moral or military readiness will occur under this or any future Democrat Party administration, simply because when it comes to national security, liberals always lead from behind -- except in matters of social engineering and political correctness.

Obama Lies Again: – Ignores That The Year After Signing The Stimulus More Than (4) Million Jobs Were Lost

Former President Obama, the only President in US history who had his FBI and other Intel agencies spy on the opposition party candidate, claims that he created the great economy that Americans are enjoying today. The only thing Obama created was debt and massive job losses with his horrible economic recovery.

Yesterday the former President tweeted an effort to take credit for President Trump’s successful economy:

Joe Hoft@joehoft

Of course another @BarackObama lie. He can’t open his mouth without lying. 11 years ago the US lost (4.3) million jobs over the next 12 months. Horrible liar. https://twitter.com/barackobama/status/1229432034650722304

Barack Obama  @BarackObama

Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.

President Obama’s policies were a disgrace and a failure. He doubled the national debt in spite of zero interest rates from the Fed. His recovery was the worst in US history.

Also, Obama’s assertion is just plain false. The ‘Stimulus’ was passed in February 2009 right after Obama took over the Presidency. He promised to not pass any bills for at least a week to allow for the bills to be read by the people but lied as soon as he was sworn in. The Stimulus was hundreds and hundreds of pages of government handouts to Democrat districts and it was close to $1 million. This was not what America needed and it led to the Tea Party.

Far-left Wikipedia has this to say about the Stimulus:

Note that in his infinite wisdom, NYT economist Paul Krugman is credited with arguing that “the stimulus was far smaller than the economic crisis warranted”. (He also said the markets would crash and burn if President Trump was elected President.)

The data shows that the 12 months after Obama’s stimulus, the US lost 4.3 million jobs:

In Obama’s first three years he netted a loss of 1.5 million jobs compared to President Trump who has added more than 6.7 million jobs.

When it comes to the economy, the billionaire schools the community organizer every time.
