{ thefederalist.com } ~ Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman are University of California, Berkeley economics professors and key players in designing economic policy for 2020 Democratic hopefuls Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren and commie-Bernie Sanders... Saez and Zucman helped design dinky/liar-Warren and commie-Sanders’ wealth tax plans and have presented misleading calculations that claim “Medicare for All” would cut taxes for most Americans, despite commie-Sanders admitting he would raise taxes on the middle class in order to achieve his “Medicare for All” plan. Their work is based mostly on French economist Thomas Piketty. All three hold hard-left-wing values and push false bulk data on how high wealth and income inequality is. The three most influential economists in the 2020 election promulgate falsehoods about the American economy. Could this affect the way young people view economics for the rest of their lives? The answer is yes. There’s a reason Saez, Zucman, and Piketty’s work is so influential. It’s used in mainstream media outlets, by international organizations, and by two of the three 2020 Democratic front-runners — dinky/liar-Warren and commie-Sanders, who created their economic policies based on the trio’s conclusions. Not only do Saez and Zucman come from one of the most prestigious universities in America, they also have their work published in major mainstream media outlets such as the New York Times and Bloomberg news. A recent New York Times article was titled “The Rich Really Do Pay Lower Taxes Than You,” and the subtitle for a recent Bloomberg piece was “The Wealthiest 400 Americans Have the Lowest Rates.” Both of these statements were written based on conclusions from Saez, Zucman, and Piketty, and both of them are false — we’ll get to why, later. Even global entities, including the International Monetary Fund, have used Saez’s data. These radical, left-wing economic ideas are spreading not only through mainstream media outlets, which have a clear bias, but through international organizations that are the cornerstone of understanding and learning international fiscal policy for students. After establishing expert credibility — despite the data manipulation they have used to get here — Saez and Zucman have become sought-after talent by the dinky/liar-Warren and commie-Sanders campaigns. Their data, while incorrect, fits the dinky/liar-Warren and commie-Sanders narrative perfectly...

The Walls are Closing In — but Not on Trump

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Democrats and their media propaganda arm have been telling us since President Trump took office that “The walls are closing in.” First it was the Mueller investigation, then every fake news story from the media... from Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen being in Prague to Don Jr. calling his father about the Trump Tower entrapment meeting with some Russians. Every “bombshell” revelation about Stormy Daniels or Omarosa meant that “the walls are closing in.” Mueller’s report, despite the best efforts of Andrew Weissman and his merry band of partisans, was a dud. As was the Ukraine phone call, with whistleblowers and Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff, perhaps one and the same, contradicted by the actual call transcript which Trump released. For a humorous walk down memory lane, watch this YouTube montage ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLEchPZm318 ) of Democrat and #NeverTrump stooges telling their shrinking cable news audiences repeatedly that, “The walls are closing in” on President Trump. Other oft-repeated phrases were, “This is the beginning of the end” and “It’s a tipping point” as this montage reminds us, with every bit of news described as “a bombshell.” It seems the entire U.S. media receives its talking points from a single source, as they all sound the same and use the exact same words or expressions. The original JournoList may be defunct, but media collusion is alive and well. News this week suggests that the walls are indeed closing in, but not on President Trump. Instead it’s officials in the scumbag/liar-nObama administration, up to and including President scumbag/liar-nObama himself, who notice the size of their rooms beginning to shrink. As many of us hoped, Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax is now a criminal investigation rather than simply an administrative inquiry. For those patiently, or impatiently, sitting through the calm before the storm, the storm has finally arrived. This means that Lone Ranger Barr and his sidekick Tonto, U.S. Attorney John Durham, have enough suspicion that some individuals have broken the law to now shift the investigation into the realm of criminality. Durham now can issue subpoenas and impanel a grand jury. Indictments and prosecutions may follow. The word “may” is important, since while the walls might be closing in, one should always have a degree of healthy skepticism that the tier of justice meted out to deep-state players may only be a slap on the wrist. But it’s progress, nonetheless. This Washington Post headline  succinctly reminds its readers who the walls are closing in on now, “William Barr’s investigation should make Democrats nervous.”...  https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/10/the_walls_are_closing_in_but_not_on_trump.html
To Make Maximum Pressure Work, Washington Should Cancel Iran Nuclear Waivers

{ fdd.org } ~ From Syria to Ukraine, it is no secret that the Trump administration has its share of challenges coordinating messaging, policy goals, and the means to achieve them... But the White House’s approach to Iran and its nuclear program, long a fixture of the president’s speeches and an area the administration spent considerable time and political capital on, should not be so difficult. Despite leaving the nuclear deal in May 2018, the Trump administration is still pulling its punches on Iran’s nuclear program. The coming days offer an opportunity to correct course. This week, the Trump administration will move to either renew or cancel waivers for select Iranian nuclear projects. These waivers render Iran’s civil nuclear cooperation initiatives, which were authorized by the scumbag/liar-nObama administration and its European, Chinese, and Russian counterparts, immune from U.S. sanctions. If the administration is serious about driving Iran to the negotiating table, it will need to, at least, terminate one waiver and conditionally suspend the other. Reauthorizing these waivers—one for work at the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant and the other for the Arak heavy water reactor—undercuts U.S. nonproliferation aims as well as the “maximum pressure” policy on Iran. It also supports what amounts to foreign assistance to key nodes of Iran’s past weapons efforts, a move fundamentally at odds with Washington’s objectives. Lastly, it signals that the administration will ignore more recent Iranian failures to live up to its commitments under the 2015 deal pertaining to Fordow and Arak. In May, the administration cancelled two waivers related to Iran’s ability to exchange enriched uranium for natural uranium with Russia and on its ability to sell heavy water abroad or store it at a consignment point in Oman. It also dropped the timeline for waiver renewal down from 180 to 90 days, signaling that it wanted to revisit this decision more frequently. Given that Iran is now incrementally reducing its compliance with the deal, Washington should capitalize on the opportunity that the waiver deadline offers...  https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2019/10/28/to-make-maximum-pressure-work-washington-should-cancel-iran-nuclear-waivers/

{ algemeiner.com } ~ US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner visited Israel on Monday, meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his top rivals, Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid of the Blue and White party... Gantz — who currently holds the mandate to try to form the next government after September’s inconclusive Knesset elections — tweeted, “I met today with the senior adviser to the US president, Jared Kushner, along with Yair Lapid and US Ambassador David Friedman. We spoke about developments in the Middle East and the good and strong relations between the US and Israel. ”The Prime Minister’s Office announced that Kushner had also sat down with Netanyahu and his team, including National Security Council Director Meir Ben-Shabbat and Israeli Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer. Kushner’s drop-by came at a sensitive time in Israel, amid the ongoing political stalemate, concern over Trump’s recent decision to withdraw US troops from Syria and the sense of a growing direct threat from Iran. There is also still a lack of clarity if the Israeli-Palestinian peace plan Kushner has been working on over the past two and a half years will ever see the light of day. Its unveiling has been delayed indefinitely, due to the political instability in Israel.  https://www.algemeiner.com/2019/10/28/with-peace-plan-still-locked-away-trump-envoy-kushner-visits-israel-meets-with-gantz-and-netanyahu/

{ washingtontimes.com } ~ A potential wild card came out of the conventional wisdom deck in Alabama this week when reports surfaced that former senator and U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions may want his Senate seat back... Mr. Sessions “has been taking meetings and making calls regarding a run for his old Senate seat,” according to YellowHammer News, an Alabama website. “He is now strongly considering mounting a candidacy.” Qualifying for the 2020 Senate race ends Nov. 8. Mr. Sessions would be seeking the seat he vacated in 2017 to become President Trump’s first attorney general. His resignation prompted a special election that year, which was won by Democrat Doug Jones after stories broke that his Republican opponent, former state supreme court Justice Roy Moore had sexually assaulted young women decades ago when he was beginning his legal career. Those allegations, which became a dominant topic in national news, were instrumental in Mr. Jones squeezing out a 2-point victory over Mr. Moore, who is running again in 2020 but has thus far attracted little media attention. On the other hand, Mr. Moore does enjoy the support of 10.6 percent of likely Republican primary voters, according to a poll from Cygnal, a Montgomery-based company. The Oct. 10-12 poll showed Tommy Tuberville, the former Auburn football coach, leading the Republican field with 32 percent, followed by Republican Rep. Bradley Byrne with 18 percent. Only in the Mobile area, which he represents in Congress, is Mr. Byrne beating Mr. Tuberville, according to the Cygnal poll, which found, behind Mr. Moore, Secretary of State John Merrill at 8.6 percent and state Rep. Arnold Mooney at 2 percent...

by foxnews.com ~ Masked Iraqi security forces in the Shiite holy city of Karbala opened fire on protesters on Tuesday, killing 18 and wounding hundreds... according to security officials. The attack, which happened overnight, came as Iraqis took to the streets for a fifth consecutive day, protesting their government's corruption, lack of services and other grievances. Fourteen people were killed and 865 wounded, according to Al Jazeera, citing security sources. "Iraqis' main demands are to address the issue of corruption, to step down, and for a new election to be held," Ali al-Nashmi, an Iraqi academic, told the news network. The protests are similar to those that have engulfed Lebanon in recent days in that they are economically driven, largely leaderless and spontaneous against a sectarian-based system and a corrupt political class that has ruled for decades and driven the two countries to the brink of economic disaster. At least 72 protesters -- not including the latest fatalities in Karbala -- have been killed since anti-government protests resumed across Iraq on Friday, after 149 were killed during an earlier wave of protests this month.  https://www.foxnews.com/world/masked-iraqi-security-forces-open-fire-on-protesters-killing-18-report

Operation Kayla Mueller — Baghdadi Dead

Nate Jackson:  Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed “caliph” of the Islamic State, is dead after a U.S. military raid of his compound in northwest Syria. Al-Baghdadi was corned in a dead-end tunnel underneath the compound, where he detonated a suicide vest, killing himself and three of his children. There were no serious casualties for Americans, and U.S. forces recovered his remains from the rubble of the collapsed tunnel to confirm his demise. Far from a profile in courage, al-Baghdadi died as the same cowardly thug he played in life.

“He was vicious and violent, and he died in a vicious and violent way, as a coward, running and crying,” President Donald Trump declared in a White House speech. “Baghdadi’s demise demonstrates America’s relentless pursuit of terrorist leaders, and our commitment to the enduring and total defeat of ISIS.”

This win substantially answers criticism of his recent decision regarding troop movements in Syria. The Middle East is a chessboard.

The operation that killed al-Baghdadi was named for Kayla Mueller, the American medical-relief worker who was captured by ISIS in 2013 and then spent two years being tortured and raped by al-Baghdadi himself before she was murdered in 2015.

The reason Trump said he did not give any advance notice to the House Intel Committee? “scumbag-Adam Schiff is the biggest leaker in Washington,” he said. “You know that, I know that, we all know that.”

Importantly, The Wall Street Journal notes, “The raid also shows the importance of intelligence gathered from prisoners. Iraqi officials say their interrogation of captured ISIS fighters in recent months provided news about Baghdadi’s location. The American left has tried to discredit interrogation since the Iraq war, but it remains crucial to preventing future attacks and killing terror leaders.”

“Baghdadi’s death is significant,” says Thomas Joscelyn, an analyst on Islamic terrorism. “He was the supposed caliph, to whom thousands of followers around the globe pledged their allegiance. [But now the] caliphate controls little to no ground, and the self-declared caliph is dead.”

That’s true, but as the termination of Osama bin Laden proved, however weakened, the Islamic State threat will endure for years as part of the larger asymmetric threat from Jihadistan.

Finally, a footnote on the pathetic Trump Derangement Syndrome of the hacks at The Washington Post: The paper originally ran the story under a title referring to al-Baghdadi as the “Islamic State’s ‘terrorist-in-chief.’” That was changed to refer to him as an “austere religious scholar” before blowback led to another change to “extremist leader.” (No wonder Trump ordered the entire federal government to terminate subscriptions to the Post last week.) Kristine Coratti Kelly, VP of communications for the Post, said, “Regarding our al-Baghdadi obituary, the headline should never have read that way and we changed it quickly.”

Well, that’s a relief.

The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh offered the best takeaway: “By calling a terrorist leader an austere (read: strict) scholar of Islam, didn’t the Post essentially imply that terrorism is fundamentally consistent with the precepts of the religion?” Moreover, just remember: The Washington Post is published in the same swamp full of people who loudly booed the president at Game 5 of the World Series last night — just hours after he announced a major triumph for the country.

Drain the swamp.   ~The Patriot Post
