{washingtontimes.com} ~ If the Trump administration had its way, Ramon Arevalo Lopez and Oscar Canales Molina would have been either in detention or deported... Instead, they were out on the streets — thanks to judges’ orders — where, according to police, they and another illegal immigrant delivered an MS-13 gang beat-down to two high school students in New York. All three of the illegal immigrants entered the U.S. in 2016 as unaccompanied alien children, meaning they crossed the border without parents — a status that earned them a quick release into the country, where they were quickly reunited with their family and began to live while awaiting deportations that never came. For Homeland Security Department officials, it’s the latest sign of a legal system that stymies their efforts to oust dangerous figures. “One of the loopholes we are imploring Congress to close could have prevented this gruesome attack,” said Katie Waldman, a Homeland Security spokeswoman. The three illegal immigrants  got into a melee outside a Burger King in Huntington Station, New York, one afternoon last week. One of the teens was stabbed in the back, according to local news reports...

{washingtontimes.com} ~ Senate Democrats will force a vote this week to overturn the Treasury Department’s move to relax sanctions on companies connected to a Russian oligarch... pushing the various tentacles of the 2016 Russia election meddling probe back to the forefront. Minority Leader Charles E. scumbag/clown-Schumer announced the decision early Sunday morning, saying there are too many questions about why the Treasury Department is cutting a break to three companies associated with Oleg Deripaska. “I have concluded that the Treasury Department’s proposal is flawed and fails to sufficiently limit Oleg Deripaska’s control and influence of these companies, and the Senate should move to block this misguided effort by the Trump Administration and keep these sanctions in place,” the New York Democrat said in a statement. He said the easing was a particular misfire “given Mr. Deripaska’s potential involvement with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.” Federal authorities say Mr. Manafort reported owing $10 million on a loan from Mr. Deripaska on a 2010 tax form. Last week, The New York Times reported Mr. Manafort attempted to pass polling data during the 2016 campaign to Mr. Deripaska. But The Times later issued a correction that it had the wrong oligarch identified, and Mr. Manafort had instead asked the information be sent to other oligarchs...

In border fight, Democrats want
'technological wall' that won't keep anybody out

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ House Speaker Nancy Pulosi of California says a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border would be "immoral." Instead, she favors something she calls a "technological wall."... Another top House Democrat, Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, calls it a "smart wall." Instead of building an actual physical barrier of steel, concrete, or some other material, Pulosi, Clyburn, and other Democrats advocate employing an array of high-tech devices — drones, infrared sensors, surveillance cameras, and more — to keep track of activity at the border without physical impediments to discourage illegal crossings. "We cannot protect the border with concrete," Clyburn said recently. "We can protect the border using the technology that is available to us to wall off intrusions." The problem is, a smart wall would not actually wall off intrusions. Indeed, the main feature of a smart wall — in past debates, it was often referred to as a virtual fence — is that it will not stop anyone from crossing the border into the United States. It can detect illegal crossers and alert authorities to their presence. But it does nothing to keep them from entering the country. That is especially important given the nature of the migrants crossing the border illegally today. In the past, many were single adult men who could be caught and quickly returned to Mexico. But now, according to the Department of Homeland Security, about two-thirds of the crossers are families and unaccompanied children who, by U.S. law, cannot be quickly returned. Once in the United States, their asylum claims — the vast majority are ultimately judged without merit — take a long time to process. During that time, many simply disappear into the country...

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Veteran investigative journalist liar-Carl Bernstein called it first. Days before bombshell reports... that an FBI counterintelligence investigation into whether President Trump has acted as a Russian asset, liar-Bernstein told a CNN panel that he believed one of the questions special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller was trying to answer was whether any obstruction by the president furthered the interests of the Russians. Now the reporter of Watergate fame is indicating that he knows where the dirty cop-Mueller investigation is going to end up, and it's not looking good for Trump."You teed up the point that the Washington Post and Times are now making," CNN's media reporter Brian Stelter told liar-Bernstein on Sunday's episode of "Reliable Sources" before airing a clip from Wednesday. "Bingo. You said the obstruction is not separate from the collusion question," Stelter said after. "These investigations are linked. That's exactly what these newspapers are signaling this weekend."...  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/carl-bernstein-draft-of-muellers-final-report-says-trump-helped-putin-destabilize-the-us?utm_source=WEX_Breaking%20News%20Alert_01/13/2019&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WEX_Breaking%20News

MEDIA BUSTED IN HUGE LIE! Wall Fund
Amputee Vet Speaks Out: “NOTHING Canceled!”

{redrightvideos.com} ~ Ever since triple-amputee vet Airman Brian Kolfage announced the all-star team that would oversee construction of the wall that he raised over $20 million for... leftist fake news media went into overdrive, lying about what’s really going on. Headlines from CNN, CBS, Time and tons of other news outlets screamed, “All Money Being Refunded,” “GoFundMe Ends Campaign,” and “GoFundMe Refunds $20 Million After Campaign Fails.”  It’s all bullcrap, though. The money hasn’t been refunded, the campaign hasn’t ended or failed, and GoFundMe is still taking donations for Kolfage’s campaign to build the wall and will continue to do so. When Airman Kolfage announced that the campaign would not only raise funds for the border wall but also begin construction on it on private land, everyone who donated before January 11th was offered refunds if they didn’t want their money to go towards construction of the wall. Dems in the House weren’t going to allow the money to be given to the government and used for construction of the wall, so Kolfage announced a team that would build it on private land. Airman Kolfage addressed what’s going on in a video today with evidence...

National Emergency' Threat Puts Pressure on Dems

by Political Editors:  As the partial government shutdown concludes its third week and shows no signs of ending, President Donald Trump has sought to turn up the pressure on Democrats by threatening to bypass Congress entirely to fund construction of a border wall. On Wednesday, Trump said of his repeated threats, “I have the absolute right to [declare a] national emergency if I want. My threshold will be if I can’t make a deal with people that are unreasonable.”

On Thursday, Trump doubled down, saying, “If we don’t make a deal, I would say it would be very surprising to me that I would not declare a national emergency and just fund [the wall] through the various mechanisms.”
It has become clear that the possibility of the president invoking his power to declare a national emergency was not merely an off-the-cuff remark but is rather a calculated threat. In his Oval Office address, Trump appealed to Democrats to work toward a bipartisan solution to the border crisis. But this message was really aimed at the American people, whom Trump wants asking: If we have a border crisis that the president is eager to address, why are Democrats standing in the way?
While many presume that Democrats have the upper hand when it comes to government shutdown showdowns, this time it may be Democrats feeling the heat. Most government shutdowns in the past have been blamed on Republicans, primarily because it was the GOP attempting to refuse funding for something Democrats insisted was essential. Here we are witnessing the reverse — it is Democrats who are on the defensive, trying to block funding for a needed government program. And $5 billion is such a small amount when compared to other budgeted items, such as the $10.6 billion being sent to Mexico for its own immigration enforcement, that the party of Big Government will have a difficult time defending their stinginess.
Trump’s power to bypass Congress is up for debate, and conservatives are divided as to whether he should even attempt it. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) believes Trump has the authority and should use it: “Speaker Pulosi’s refusal to negotiate on Wall/Barrier funding — even if the government were to be reopened — virtually ends congressional path to fund Wall/Barrier. Time for President [Trump] to use emergency powers to build Wall/Barrier.
However, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) offered a very insightful warning: “If today, the national emergency is border security … tomorrow the national emergency might be climate change.” In other words, Trump invoking the power to declare a national emergency here may be setting a dangerous precedent.
The longer this shutdown drags on, the more Democrats rather than Republicans will be feeling the pressure to compromise. That’s especially true as Trump continues to declare that this is an issue of national security for which he has the power to bypass Congress to address, all while insisting he would much rather have Congress on board.  ~The Patriot Post
