 A Spying, Lying liar-nObama Administration
By Arnold Ahlert: In law, preponderance of evidence is a term used to describe a case-winning standard of proof, absent incontrovertible evidence. Did the liar-nObama administration "spy" on members of the incoming Trump administration? The outing of former National Security Advisor Susan Rice as someone who obtained "unmasked" names of Trump officials is not definitive, in and of itself. What makes it compelling is that it represents one of several efforts undertaken by an liar-nObama administration to keep tabs on, and/or intimidate, people it considered threats to its agenda.
"The liar-nObama administration, which has a chilling zeal for investigating leaks and prosecuting leakers, has failed to offer a credible justification for secretly combing through the phone records of reporters and editors at The Associated Press in what looks like a fishing expedition for sources and an effort to frighten off whistle-blowers," The New York Times reported in 2013.
The liar-nObama administration insisted the effort was necessary to protect national security. In reality it was a message that the normal process of government-press negotiations regarding the protections of news sources with sensitive stories had been kicked to the curb. "When that happens, sources clam up and dry up," columnist S.E. Cupp explained at the time. "That silence, especially in matters of war, diplomacy and peace, makes it that much harder for the press to expose government injustices to the public." Exactly.
Shortly thereafter it was revealed that Fox New reporter James Rosen was also "monitored." The government obtained Rosen's phone records, those of his parents and his personal emails, as well as searched his security badge access records to track the reporter's visits to the State Department. Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder authorized the spying, but apparently "forgot" his did so. Testifying under oath before the House Judiciary Committee, Holder — asked if the DOJ could prosecute reporters using the Espionage Act of 1917 — claimed it was "not something I've ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy." Neither is lying, but Holder did that anyway.
In 2015, liar-nObama CIA officials "penetrated a computer network used by the Senate Intelligence Committee" and "sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department based on false information," the Times revealed. That effort included the use of a false online identity enabling CIA access to computers used by the committee staffers. Irony of ironies? The committee was tasked with monitoring CIA activities.
Reporter Sharyl Attkisson, the former CBS correspondent who worked diligently to counter the administration's "narrative" regarding the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal and Benghazi, sued the DOJ in 2015, alleging it hacked into her personal computer. The DOJ issued a denial, but on March 19, 2017 U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan denied the DOJ's motion to dismiss the case.
In her blog, Attkisson describes the Orwellian atmosphere she and her husband endured in their own home. It included "anomalies" on her computer, TV, telephones and home alarm system, confirmation by forensic experts that "sophisticated surveillance spyware" had been installed on her laptop, and an "extra" Verizon FiOS fiber optics line — that subsequently "disappeared" — installed in her home. She also observed her laptop being remotely accessed and controlled, resulting in data deletion.
In 2015, The Wall Street Journal revealed the liar-nObama administration's NSA monitored Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders opposed to liar-nObama's deal with Iran. In the course of that effort, the NSA "also swept up the contents of some of their private conversations with U.S. lawmakers and American-Jewish groups."
A pro-Israel political operative insists "the administration weaponized the NSA's legitimate monitoring of communications of foreign officials to stay one step ahead of domestic political opponents" that became "a means of gathering real-time intelligence on Americans engaged in perfectly legitimate political activism — activism, due to the nature of the issue, that naturally involved conversations with foreigners." Sound familiar?
Last week on Mark Levin's radio show, reporter Eli Lake used the term "reverse targeting" to explain how liar-nObama could gather intel on Trump and his associates while maintaining the plausible deniability attached to getting that intel while legitimately monitoring Russian exchanges with them — making any assertion they were targeting Trump, et al, virtually impossible to prove.
Yet the outing of former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn's name to the press is a felony, and no matter how hard Democrats and their media lapdogs try to obscure that reality, it cannot be denied. Moreover, if assertions by House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) are accurate, the "unmasking" of people other than Flynn occurred — and it was not related to Russian exchanges.
Compiling a preponderance of evidence against the liar-nObama administration would not be complete without reminding Americans how the IRS was also weaponized. Last week, Judicial Watch (JW) released another 695 pages of documents the administration failed to produce during the DOJ's IRS investigation. They reveal "admissions by the liar-nObama IRS that it inappropriately targeted conservative groups," JW President Tom Fitton explained, and "that the abuse continued — as the liar-nObama IRS tried to force conservative applicants to give up their First Amendment rights in order to finally get their applications granted."
That scandal also included the systematic destruction of hard drives despite court orders to preserve evidence.
The fact that liar-nObama's DOJ ultimately concluded there was no evidence of wrongdoing was one of the most corrupt moments in the history of the republic. Documents obtained in 2015 by JW revealed Lois Lerner, the FBI and DOJ officials had planned to target nonprofit organizations for criminal prosecution arising from alleged illegal political activity. In other words, the DOJ investigated itself and determined it was innocent.
Then there is Susan Rice — the consummate ideological hack, more than willing to advance an agenda by any means necessary. Lying is her specialty: On five different TV shows, she flacked the disproven assertion the Benghazi attack was precipitated by an "offensive" video. She was "coincidentally" soon promoted by liar-nObama, from U.S. ambassador to the UN, to national security advisor. She topped that whopper with the assertion that deserter Bowe Bergdahl "served with honor and distinction."
Now, after first claiming during a PBS interview she "knew nothing" about the unmasking of Trump officials, she subsequently admitted she did, but that nothing was used for political purposes.
How deep does the rot go? As National Review's Andrew McCarthy explains only three agencies — the FBI, NSA and the CIA — are allowed to "unmask" the identities of "Americans caught up in other foreign intelligence efforts." Moreover, Rice and the White House are intelligence "consumers," not producers, as FBI Director James Comey stated during House testimony. Comey also insisted the FBI has "minimization" standards that are "obsessive" with regard to protecting the identities of Americans.
Nonetheless, Rice was able to get the names. Moreover, former liar-nObama deputy defense secretary — and liar-Clinton campaign operative — Evelyn Farkas revealed that the effort was made to spread classified intel to members of Congress before it "disappeared," which is "why you have the leaking."
More like a preponderance of evidence the liar-nObama administration is deeply involved in an historically unprecedented corruption scandal.  ~The Patriot Post

Weapons Behind Syria Push?
by Rick Wells
{rickwells.us} ~ What may catch your attention on this video about the corporate financial interests being behind the push into Syria is the list of names on the Strategic Advisory Board of Genie Energy... They’re not the typical names you’ve never heard of, people with a lot of money but without the notoriety that goes with it. Political pedigrees are everywhere and connections to the deep state establishment seem to be a basic prerequisite. The names include Michael Steinhardt, one of those rich guys most of us have never heard of, followed by Dick Cheney, a rich politician who many Americans wish they’d never heard of, Marry Landrieu, Rupert Murdoch, Bill Richardson, Jacob Rothschild, Lawrence Summers and James Woolsey.  All have a history intertwined with global politics, some of it of very questionable character...  http://rickwells.us/cheney-rothschild-richardson-woolsey-murdoch-pi...

Iran to Syria: Make America
‘Regret’ Airport Strike
by Jeff Neukom
{westernjournalism.com} ~ The Iranian government urged the Syrian government on Monday to “make Americans regret” for President Donald Trump’s decision to strike a Syrian airstrip in Homs last week... Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the United States did not act “within international frameworks” and decried the Tomahawk strike ordered by President Trump. “Americans have never acted within international frameworks, and one instance is the sanctions they impose against Iran, unreasonably considering themselves as the world’s leader,” Rouhani said. “The Syrian people and army must give a response (to the US) that makes Americans regret their attack.”...  http://www.westernjournalism.com/iran-syria-make-america-regret-air...

Trump Must Designate Muslim Brotherhood
to Defeat Radical Islam

by Clifford Smith
{meforum.org} ~ Hopes that the Trump administration will designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization have hit rough waters, with anonymous officials citing concerns about diplomatic blowback and frayed relationships with Muslims at home and abroad... The leaks came on the eve of a historic visit to Washington by Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, a key Arab ally and devoted Muslim who is locked in a life-or-death struggle with the Brotherhood. The irony is hard to miss, particularly given that Egypt and several other Arab countries have already designated the Brotherhood a terrorist organization. Whatever the truth behind the leaks, they underscore that the inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom — that the Brotherhood is "moderate" and so popular that designation would be seen as "a declaration of war against . . . Islam itself" — will not die as easily as many hoped...  http://www.meforum.org/6632/trump-must-designate-muslim-brotherhood...

Russia knew of Syrian chemical attack
in advance, US official says

by foxnews
{foxnews.com} ~ A senior U.S. official says the United States has concluded that Russia knew in advance of Syria's chemical weapons attack last week... The official says a Russian-operated drone flew over a hospital in Syria as victims of the attack were rushing to get treatment. Hours after the drone left, a Russian-made fighter jet bombed the hospital in what American officials believe was an attempt to cover up the usage of chemical weapons. The official said the presence of the drone couldn't have been a coincidence, and that Russia must have known the chemical weapons attack was coming and that victims were seeking treatment....

Mob Rule on Campus
by Harry Stein
{city-journal.org} ~ News last night, that threats of violence by left-wing student activists at the Claremont Colleges disrupted an appearance by my colleague Heather Mac Donald, was as unsurprising as it was dispiriting. A year and a half ago, when highly publicized protests at Missouri and Yale led to copycat eruptions on campuses across the country, protesters at the schools of the Claremont consortium were especially notable for both their militancy and their unreason, with mob leaders at the five schools competing with one another in the sheer idiocy of their “nonnegotiable demands.” Worse, rather than condemn those threatening to shut down their campuses if they didn’t get their way, the administrators responded to the intellectual thuggery with sympathy and understanding.

As a graduate of the oldest of the Claremont Colleges, Pomona, I wrote at the time of how dramatically the character of the school had changed in the half-century since my arrival on a quiet, conservative campus in 1966; and, specifically, of the damage done by student protesters during my years there. The key event—the juncture from which there was no turning back—was the morning 50 or so demonstrators, including me, surrounded an Air Force recruiter in the campus placement office, chanting and heckling and otherwise preventing him from speaking to interested students. We had been forewarned that there would be severe repercussions if we disrupted the session, including possible expulsion, and we took the threat seriously. So when our punishment was announced, we were almost as surprised as we were relieved: “suspended suspension.”

Who, at the time, could have guessed that administrators, those surrogate-parent figures, were such pathetic wimps?

It was all too short a step from that moment to this past Thursday evening, when several hundred student thugs screaming “Fuck white supremacy” and “Black Lives matter here” surrounded the hall where Mac Donald was speaking, threatening with physical violence those seeking to enter. Eventually, Heather addressed an empty room, with a camera livestreaming her talk, even as the protesters screamed and banged on the doors from outside. Things grew so heated that campus cops, concerned for her safety, stopped her talk early and hustled her out.

There are differences, of course. Back then, wrong-headed and irresponsible as we were, we weren’t mean-spirited. Pomona wasn’t Berkeley; we didn’t take ourselves all that seriously. To the contrary, there was an antic element to it all; on some level, we knew perfectly well we were kids, doing what kids do—acting out against the grown-ups. Even the members of the Black Student Union, with their huge Afros, serious demeanors, and just-like-the-Panthers black leather jackets, were, at heart, polite middle-class kids like us, their menace a pose. I’ll never forget the day Jerry Rubin, the Yippie provocateur, spoke on campus, exhorting the crowd to spike the water supply with LSD. Instead of wild applause, the student audience just stared at him in silence; Rubin stalked angrily off the stage. I’d never been prouder of Pomona.

Indeed, though in those days as in these, leftism was the norm, those who took a different view got a respectable hearing in the dorms and dining halls.

No more. These kids have no regard for the once sacrosanct principle that even your enemies have a right to be heard. They are ugly-minded and vicious. And, unlike us, they know for an absolute certainty that there will be no consequences for their behavior. They make me despair for the future—if not of the country, then certainly for Claremont.
