Calif Gov Brown Sputters As He
Feebly Attempts Sessions Rebuttal
{ } ~ California Governor Jerry Brown is really a parody of himself, a joke if it weren’t so serious... Virtually everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie, a talking point or both. He didn’t like the fact that his lawlessness and that of his minions in California is being challenged by the federal government. He went on camera to put the matter in the hands of his media propagandists to bail them out. Brown said, “It’s really unprecedented, for the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, to come out to California and act more like Fox News than a law enforcement officer.” Of course that statement makes no sense. Sessions was telling the crooked governor and his rebellious comrades defying federal law that they can’t get away with it. How are those the actions of Fox News? When did Bill Hemmer or Tucker Carlson speak before a group comparing the outlaw government of California to the Civil War South?...
Women in Iran Are Standing
Up to Oppressive Policies
by Madyson Hutchinson Posey
On March 8, the world will recognize International Women’s Day. This year... the campaign hopes to highlight global gender inequalities and advocate change under the slogan “Press for Progress.” Women across the globe face unique challenges to obtaining the same rights and privileges as their male counterparts. Recent protests over compulsory hijab laws in Iran remind us all why International Women’s Day is important. In December 2017, protests broke out across Iran over the negligence of government officials and the failing Iranian economy. However, the protests quickly gave way to a public outcry over gender discrimination laws. One woman in particular caught international attention when she stood on a street corner waving her hijab over her head...
Celebrating Natan Sharansky
by William A. Jacobson
{ } ~ Natan Sharansky is winding down his leadership of The Jewish Agency for Israel, a post he has held since 2009...  The Jewish Agency serves to strengthen ties of Jews around the world with Israel. To honor Sharansky’s service and life, the Jewish Agency is encouraging people to share memories about Sharansky, including using the hashtag  #CelebrateWithNatan. So I thought I’d use this as an opportunity to recollect Legal Insurrection’s prior coverage of Sharansky, plus a new story I just learned about him. I have written several times about Sharansky’s super-human struggle as a prisoner in the Soviet Union. On the second day of Legal Insurrection’s existence, October 13, 2008, I wrote rino-John McCain and Nathan Sharansky, in which I discussed Sharansky’s prison struggle...
San Diego Schools Ordered To Reveal
Correspondence With Muslim Advocacy Group
{ } ~ A federal judge ordered the San Diego Unified School District on Tuesday to hand over evidence detailing its correspondence with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)... about the implementation of a controversial anti-Islamophobia bullying initiative at San Diego public schools. The development is the latest in a long-running saga concerning school officials in San Diego coordinating with CAIR, an American-Muslim civil rights and religious organization with known links to a number of anti-Israel groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood. The controversy began in April when the San Diego school district announced it was launching an anti-Islamophobia initiative to combat what it described as a vast and underreported epidemic of anti-Muslim bullying in the district’s schools... I can remember back in the 50s to this date that bullying has always happen in schools. So what is this a big deal now. It will never change.
Scientist ’99 Percent’ Certain
These Are Amelia Earhart’s Bones
{ } ~ A university scientist is 99 percent certain bones found on an island in the Pacific Ocean belong to Amelia Earhart... according to a Wednesday report. Earhart – the first woman to fly an airplane over the Atlantic Ocean – and her navigator, Fred Noonan, went missing somewhere over the Pacific in 1937 while attempting to fly around the world.  University of Tennessee skeletal biology expert Richard Jantz asserted his certainty after estimating Earhart’s bone size and comparing them to measurements taken from bones found on Nikumaroro – an island about 400 miles south of one of Earhart’s planned stops, Howland Island, the Daily Mail reported...

DOJ Sues California Over Immigration Obstruction

by Nate Jackson:  The Justice Department filed suit Tuesday against the state of California over the Golden State’s obstruction of federal immigration law. Specifically, the DOJ seeks an injunction against three recent California laws that are deliberately interfering with immigration enforcement. One law prevents businesses from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials by giving workers extra “protections.” Another grants authority to state officials to inspect and monitor Department of Homeland Security-run detention facilities in California. And the third is the infamous sanctuary state law that took effect Jan. 1 — the law prohibits state or local law enforcement officials from notifying their federal counterparts when an illegal alien ends up in custody, or from transferring those prisoners.

Laws meant to protect the lawless are ironic, indeed. “The Department of Justice and the Trump Administration are going to fight these unjust, unfair and unconstitutional policies,” said Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Last year, the Justice Department also moved to defund sanctuary cities, which is being challenged in court.
California is a key battleground because an estimated 2.5 million illegals reside there. That number will no doubt increase. State Attorney General Xavier Becerra, who is named in the DOJ suit, insists California will continue to “keep our communities safe.” In fact, he argues, “We believe we are in full compliance with the federal Constitution and federal law.” Democrats sure have a funny way of defining those terms.
In some cases, the state is doing even more than claiming supremacy of state law over federal law, in violation of the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2). One example is the recent case of Oakland’s Democrat mayor, Libby Schaaf, publicly warning illegals of upcoming ICE raids, saving an estimated 800 illegals from arrest. It’s one thing to leave enforcement of federal law to the feds and another to actively obstruct that enforcement. Such is the way of today’s Democrat Party.

Rush Limbaugh Explains How Robert Mueller
Will Attempt To Financially Destroy President Trump

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has crossed President Trump’s “red line” after issuing a subpoena for documents related to the Trump Organization’s business dealings with Russia.

New York Times reports:

The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, has subpoenaed the Trump Organization to turn over documents, including some related to Russia, according to two people briefed on the matter. The order is the first known time that the special counsel demanded documents directly related to President Trump’s businesses, bringing the investigation closer to the president. […] The Trump Organization has said that it never had real estate holdings in Russia, but witnesses recently interviewed by Mr. Mueller have been asked about a possible real estate deal in Moscow. In 2015, a longtime business associate of Mr. Trump’s emailed Mr. Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen at his Trump Organization account claiming he had ties to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and said that building a Trump Tower in Moscow would help Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign.

Radio host Rush Limbaugh theorized on his program Friday that one of Mueller’s true objectives is to financially destroy President Trump.

Partial transcript via Breitbart News:

And these requests, the subpoena for documents from the Trump Organization, I ask you again, what has that to do with the campaign and with collusion and with the Russians? They’ve already been looking into Trump business in Russia with the Miss, what is it, USA, whatever his pageant is.

Do you all remember during the early days of the campaign there was news that Trump, in a tax return something like 20 years ago, took a $900 million deduction that was granted and survived an audit by the IRS? Now, I forget the details. It had to do with losses that he had incurred in that year in building things. It was around 900 or $920 million deduction. I’ll never forget when it was reported because most people will never come close to ever having that in a lifetime, and to have a guy personally write that much off?

Anyway, I think Mueller wants that $920 million back. I think Mueller wants to prove that that was a faulty deduction. I think that they want to go back, they want to get Trump’s tax returns because they want to nullify that $900 million deduction, and then they want to collect 20 years of interest and penalties and wipe Trump out.

In the meantime, President Trump’s lawyers are in the process of negotiating with special counsel Robert Mueller to bring the Russia probe to an end, reports Rebecca Ballhaus and Peter Nicholas of the Wall Street Journal.

Mueller’s tentacles continue to reach further and further.

CNN reported that investigators are attempting to determine whether former Blackwater chief Erik Prince misled the  House Intelligence Committee about a meeting he had in Seychelles in January of 2017.

Prince is accused of using the meeting as an opportunity to establish a secret back channel with Russia.

Fox News’ Catherine Herridge spoke with one of President Trump’s personal lawyers about the new subpoena request by Special Counsel Mueller.

According to Herridge, Trump’s lawyer was unaware of the subpoena and said it may be a ‘wrap up’ subpoena or ‘clean up’ subpoena which may signal the end of the investigation.
