by Thomas Gallatin:  On Thursday, The New York Times published an article exposing allegations of “decades of sexual harassment accusations” against the famous leftist Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The Times revealed that Weinstein has reached at least eight settlements with women who brought allegations of sexual harassment.

Weinstein has a long history of donating to Democrats and has hosted fundraisers for both Barack liar-nObama and liar-Hillary Clinton. Publicly, Weinstein has been celebrated as a champion of women, but it appears that in his personal life he has often done just the opposite, using his position of power to abuse women.
After the Times released the story, Weinstein issued an odd and seemingly contradictory statement in which he denied “many of the accusations as patently false,” and yet he offered an apology for “the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past,” adding that he will be taking a leave of absence “to learn about myself and conquer my demons.” Make of that what you will, but it may help to consider his immediate pivot to attack … the NRA and Donald Trump.
Weinstein said, “I am going to need a place to channel that anger, so I’ve decided that I’m going to give the NRA my full attention. I hope [NRA executive vice president] Wayne LaPierre will enjoy his retirement party. I’m going to do it at the same place I had my Bar Mitzvah. I’m making a movie about our President, perhaps we can make it a joint retirement party.” Let’s see, shift attention to that which the Left loves to hate and hope your fellow leftists give you a pass and this whole nasty story goes away. It’s this kind of thinking that has enabled his continued poor behavior over the decades.

Unbelievable Two-Year Sentence For
Illegal Alien Who Killed 2 Kids, Their Dad
https://rickwells.us/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/1016-car-crash-texas-illegal-1200-940x400.jpg" width="454" height="193" />
{rickwells.us} ~ The judge responsible for this sentence is not to blame. He recently ordered the maximum the law allows, two years, for the charge of negligent homicide... The illegal alien driving the vehicle that killed the father and his two children had a criminal record. He should not have been in the US and like the rest of them, should have already been deported. The illegal alien, Margarito Quintero Rosales, had previously fled the US when he was sought in Missouri on a burglary charge and returned. He claims he fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to crash his van headlong into the vehicle containing Peter Hacking and his two young children. All three were killed. The illegal who killed them survived. The crash took place on March 31st, 2016 in Wylie Texas. The media report describes him in the politically correct language of an undocumented immigrant. That false terminology removes the illegality of their conduct and implies legitimacy were it not for the “technicality” of paperwork... https://rickwells.us/two-year-illegal-killed-2-kids-dad/

{frontpagemag.com} ~ Despite being a NATO member, Turkey is an Islamist terror state. And Erdogan, its Islamist tyrant has blatantly challenged America... from holding Americans hostages, to arresting consular employees to having his thugs assault protesters in America. And now there are consequences. The U.S. said Sunday it was suspending non-immigrant visa services at its diplomatic facilities in Turkey following the arrest of a consulate employee, prompting Turkey to halt visa services in the U.S. Metin Topuz is accused of espionage and "attempting to overthrow the Turkish government and constitution."...  http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/268085/us-cuts-non-immigrant-visa...

{frontpagemag.com} ~ President Trump has been rightfully demanding that aliens who are citizens of countries that have an involvement with terrorism must undergo “extreme vetting.”... This is certainly an important and commonsense requirement. However, the computer systems used by both Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) inside the United States are unable to provide CBP inspectors at ports of entry the data they need to prevent transnational criminals and international terrorists from entering the country. Nor can these systems provide the vital information and records to USCIS adjudications officers that would allow them to prevent aliens present in the United States from improperly acquiring immigration benefits such as political asylum, lawful immigrant status and even United States citizenship... http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/268053/homeland-security-uncovers-m...

{/theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ Many CTH readers will painfully remember the 2014 brutal murder of 19-year-old Jessica Lane Chambers in the small town of Batesville Mississippi... Jessica Chamber was burned to death on Dec. 6, 2014, and when the fire department found her she was still alive despite sustaining burns on 98 percent on her body. She died a few hours later at the hospital. CTH invested a lot of time researching the attack and the evidence surrounding the murder. The trial of her killer, 28-year-old Quinton Verdell Tellis, begins today with jury selection in Magnolia Mississippi. The jurors will then be transported to Batesville Mississippi for the trial...  https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/10/09/justice-for-jessica...

Former Upstate New York Democratic
Party Chair Indicted for Bribery Scheme
by Department of Justice
{justice.gov} ~ A federal grand jury sitting in the Western District of New York returned an eight-count indictment against a former Erie County, New York Democratic party chair for bribing a New York State supreme court justice.

Acting Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Blanco of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. for the Western District of New York made the announcement.

“Bribery of a judge strikes at the very core of our democracy,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Blanco. “The independence of the judiciary is paramount to civilized society. Our prosecutors and law enforcement partners will pursue any and all attempts to corrupt our fundamental institutions, including the judiciary.”

“The detailed facts set forth in the indictment provide evidence not only of the charges contained therein but of the tremendous investigation conducted by agents from the Buffalo Division of the FBI together with their partners at the New York State Attorney General’s Office and the New York State Police,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Kennedy.  “The indictment speaks for itself.”

G. Steven Pigeon, 56, of Buffalo, New York, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bribery and honest services wire fraud, three counts of honest services wire fraud, one count of federal programs bribery and three counts of violation of the Travel Act.

According to the indictment, between February 2012 and April 2013, Pigeon offered and provided things of value to former New York State Supreme Court Judge John A. Michalek, in exchange for official action. Specifically, Pigeon promised employment for a member of Michalek’s immediate family with the 2012 campaign to reelect President Barack liar-nObama; offered to help the same family member obtain employment with the U.S. Department of State; and agreed to support Michalek’s application for appointment to the appellate division of the New York State Supreme Court, all to obtain favorable judicial decisions from Michalek and to control who Michalek would appoint to a paid court receivership.

Pigeon was arraigned this morning before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer and released on conditions pending trial of this matter before the Honorable Richard J. Arcara, U.S. District Judge.

The indictment is the result of an investigation by the FBI Buffalo Field Office, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen; the New York State Attorney General’s Office, under the direction of Eric T. Schneiderman; and the New York State Police, under the direction of  Major Edward Kennedy. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Chief John Keller of the Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Section and Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul E. Bonanno of the Western District of New York.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Taxpayers Shell Out $220K For
Another Dem’s Sexual Harassment Settlement

(TeaParty.org) – Just as the American taxpayer was finished reeling from outrage after John Conyers Jr. settled his sexual harassment lawsuit using taxpayer money, another Democrat has been caught in the same dirty act.

Up next is Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings, accused of harassment and the unwanted touching of Republican staffer Winsome Packer, who was on the United States Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe. Hastings claims that he was not aware of the settlement and that he is outraged that taxpayer money was used to pay off the staffer.

“This matter was handled solely by the Senate Chief Counsel for Employment. At no time was I consulted, nor did I know until after the fact that such a settlement was made,” he said, according to Roll Call. “I am outraged that any taxpayer dollars were needlessly paid to Ms. [Winsome] Packer.”

From Politico:

The lawsuit was filed in 2011 by Judicial Watch, a public interest group. In the lawsuit, a former staffer on the United States Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, Packer, alleges she was the victim of “unwelcome sexual advances” and “unwelcome touching” by then-chairman Hastings.

Packer also claimed retaliation by the congressman and his staff director, Fred Turner, who also was named in the suit. The conservative judicial watchdog charged that Packer was unfairly targeted because she was a Republican serving in a commission ruled by Democrats.

This wasn’t the first time that Hastings has had a run in with the law. He was formerly a federal judge in a district court in his home state of Florida. In 1988, he was impeached by the House for bribery and perjury, and was later removed from the bench by the Senate. He was only the sixth federal judge in the history of this country to be removed from the bench by the Senate.

The lawsuit against Hastings in 2011 was filed by Judicial Watch. At the time, Tom Fitton, who still heads Judicial Watch, said the following:

“The allegations against Alcee Hastings as detailed in this complaint are outrageous. For two years Hastings subjected Ms. Packer to a never-ending barrage of unwanted sexual advances. And when Ms. Packer tried, time and again, to put a stop to it, he resorted to threats and intimidation to force her compliance. Even after Hastings’ behavior caused Ms. Packer’s physical collapse, he would not relent. We look forward to holding Alcee Hastings and the other defendants accountable for their unlawful behavior in court.”

Ms. Packer says that she was sexually harassed by Hastings from 2008 to 2010 and that when she complained about it, Hastings and Commission Staff Director Fred Turner made threats against her, including termination.

The news about Hastings comes at the same time that sexual assault allegations have exploded in the Congress, leading to resignations by several of its members. In addition to Conyers’ scandal, Senator Al Franken was accused by several women of grabbing their breasts and butts. There is a picture of Franken cupping the breasts of a woman that had gone on a trip for the USO to entertain the troops. Taxpayers also paid out $84,000 for sexual harassment charges against Republican Blake Farenthold.

Both Conyers and Franken have resigned from the House and Senate respectively. All told, the taxpayers have footed $17 million out in settlements. Judicial Watch and others have filed Freedom of Information Act lawsuits to get the complete list of all payouts made on behalf of congressmen and possibly women. What they find out could further shock and outrage Americans, and spark a fire for more reform.
