National identity and politics
NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.

Several issues are coming to the forefront of the national stage that are part and parcel to our national identity. Illegal immigration has been a contributing factor the dilution of the American culture. Another issue is the battle over government spying on its citizens. Republicans and Democrats alike have been whittling away on the rights of free speech, freedom of religion, privacy, property ownership, and free enterprise. What made America great in the past is that as a free people, we had the courage to stand against such tyranny not promote it. It came from within the heart and soul of being an American. This rugged individualism and independence characterized Americans. Where has it gone?

From observing events over the past 40 years, America's national identity is drifting away. Our national identity was that of a nation of Christians. Even if not all the people were Christian, they recognized that Christian morals were an acceptable and preferred qualification for leadership. Couple this with the lack of border security resulting in millions upon millions of people unlawfully entering the country, the dilution of national identity is accelerated. Additionally, many Americans have either bought in to the leftist humanist mantra, or are too busy with their lives to care. While some changes in leadership are positive, the overall leadership vacuum politically and spiritually in this nation has left it a dry, amoral place of apathy.

The Apostle Peter wrote in 1 Peter 4:17-19, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator." The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 10:13-14, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?"

Jesus said in Matthew 24:23, "Then if any man shall say unto you Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not." Our national identity and, more importantly, our personal salvation is diluted tremendously if we, as Peter put it, "scarcely be saved." If America's preachers are so intent on preaching/teaching a self indulgent, extra Biblical and emotional version of the Christ, then what Christ are we following--the real Son of God, crucified and risen, for our sins, or some humanist version of Christ that fits a social or political extra-biblical gospel? It is here, not on the national policy front, that we as a people have lost our identity. We all need to seek the Lord for continuous direction on how we can demonstrate our true identity.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

ALERT ALERT

 Lowest Female Unemployment
In 18 years!”

President Donald Trump needled the mostly anti-Trump Women’s March on Saturday, reminding them of the positive economic gains for women under his administration.

“Beautiful weather all over our great country, a perfect day for all Women to March,” he wrote on Twitter. “Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months. Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!”

Temperatures in the Washington, DC area rose to 59 degrees on Saturday afternoon after several days of cold weather. The Washington, DC march was smaller this year than the previous one in 2017, but organizers focused their efforts on attending a march in Las Vegas.

Thousands of women across the country rallied in major cities to oppose Trump and his policies, vowing to step up activism in the 2018 congressional midterms.
