Is Newt the smart, brave and courageous patriot that can help us take America back?-You Decide:

Posted on Sunshine State News-By KENRIC WARD-On January 28, 2012:

“In throwing their support to Newt Gingrich, a group of Florida tea party leaders risk throwing away their clout and credibility, observers of the movement say.

“The Florida Tea Party Coalition With Newt” endorsed the former House speaker on Thursday, saying they would “help defeat Massachusetts Moderate Mitt Romney and then President Barack Obama.”

“It is clear to me and many others in the tea party movement that Newt is the Reagan conservative that America needs,” said Peter Lee, founder and director of the East Side Tea Party of Orlando.

Lee was joined by statewide tea leader Patricia Sullivan, who said, “I stand with Newt because I know he will stand up to the establishment and insist on fiscal reforms.”

In all, more than 30 Florida-based tea activists signed on to the coalition. The geographically diverse representatives ranged from the Panhandle to Broward County.

Separately, the TEA Party of Florida, the only political tea party registered with the state Division of Elections, endorsed Gingrich.

Chairman John Long said Gingrich “articulated direct and serious steps designed to reduce spending, cut our deficits, pay down our national debt, and return liberty to our citizens in doing so.”

But the endorsements may be too little and too late for the former House speaker, whose poll numbers in Florida have slumped amid two lackluster debate performances on Monday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, Gingrich continues to mystify and anger conservatives as he panders on illegal immigration and rationalizes his $1.6 million contract with Freddie Mac while adopting populist poses that resemble left-wing class warfare.

Still, some tea party leaders, fearing the growing inevitability of Romney as the GOP nominee, felt they had to take a stand before Tuesday’s Florida primary. Romney is perceived as the “establishment candidate” and widely distrusted by tea party groups, who have received little or no attention from the former Massachusetts governor.

Billie Tucker, leader of the First Coast Tea Party in Jacksonville, is not endorsing any candidates, but acknowledges Gingrich has strong appeal in the movement.

Gingrich won 43 percent of the 322 votes cast in a First Coast straw poll on Jan. 17. Ron Paul received 26 percent, Romney garnered 19 percent and Rick Santorum netted 10 percent.

Gingrich’s ties to the tea party movement are deep and long-lasting.

In March 2009, when tea parties were just beginning to be organized, the Georgian pledged to use his prodigious mailing list at American Solutions to publicize the inaugural Tax Day event.

He posted a link on every website he owned, sent emails to everyone in his database and produced a video while publicly announcing his support of the tea party movement—long before radio talkers like Glenn Beck jumped on the bandwagon.

Sullivan, who chairs a statewide tea group called the Tea Party Network, is repaying the favor by mobilizing her Lake County-based “Patriot Army” on Gingrich’s behalf.

“Once I decided to support Newt, I got to work and took a group of Patriot Army members to South Carolina where we walked precincts for three days, then waved signs at the polls,” Sullivan said.

Then she returned to Florida, where she set up a Gingrich rally at Mount Dora.

“Time for talk is over, we need to be about action. That is why I actively support the candidate I believe will stand up to the establishment and rein in spending,” she said.

Explaining the mechanics of the coalition endorsement, Sullivan said, “The leaders and members will share their views with their tea party and actively work to get out the vote for Newt.”

“I don’t believe another candidate has a coalition of tea party leaders willing to get out and work for their candidate, but I could be wrong.”

Sullivan, who previously supported Herman Cain, said the Tea Party Network is not involved in the endorsement.

Some say the tea endorsement is a risky move, coming after other tea party favorites—Cain, Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry—each exited the race amid controversy or anemic polls.

“If Gingrich loses, the tea party is over,” predicted one veteran tea party activist from South Florida. “If he loses, what does that show you about the clout of the tea party?”

The activist, who spoke on condition of anonymity, cast his early ballot for Ron Paul this week. “He stands for what we stood for in 2009.”

A former executive with the Florida TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party doubts that the coalition backing will help Gingrich much.

“Far more influential was the endorsement of the reconstituted TEA Party of Florida. That tea party has a much-desired email list of over 100,000 opt-in participants. And, unlike the self-pronounced ‘tea party coalition,’ it has a track record of actually receiving votes for candidates,” said Doug Guetzloe, an Orlando-based political consultant who has returned to the Republican Party.

“The ‘coalition tea party’ backing is one of the last acts of an inflated collection of egos,” Guetzloe said. “Their endorsement will make no difference.”

Some tea activists steered clear of endorsing out of concern that they might run afoul of election laws or tax codes. Others simply  disagree with Gingrich politically.

Gingrich’s infamous couch talk with Nancy Pelosi about “global warming” and his dismissal of Rep. Paul Ryan’s entitlement reforms as “right-wing social engineering” fly in the face of conservative orthodoxy.

Illustrating the fractious character of the tea movement, Steve Vernon, vice president of Tea Party Manatee, signed on to the Gingrich coalition, even though Rick Santorum won a straw poll conducted by his group before the South Carolina primary.

Vernon said he and others in his Gulf Coast tea party consider Santorum a “bigger government guy” who repeatedly voted for earmarks as a two-term Pennsylvania senator.

“Some say he can’t win,” Vernon added.

“We could have a totally different outcome this week. It’s still up in the air,” Vernon said, emphasizing that the Gingrich tea coalition is made up of individuals, and not binding on groups.

Several large tea organizations remain unaligned. In addition to Tucker’s First Coast Tea Party, sizable tea and patriot organizations in Naples, Englewood and Venice are absent from the coalition. The combined membership of these groups is estimated at 15,000.

Still, Tucker does not dispute or begrudge the coalition’s action.

“They have chosen to stand up for their guy and that is their decision,” she said.

Danita Kilcullen is less sanguine about the process. The chairwoman of Tea Party Fort Lauderdale said she is “appalled” at the endorsements for Gingrich.

“The tea party, of all people, should be aware of his globalist, progressive agenda. He would be my absolute last pick.”

Beyond that, Kilcullen said endorsements can create unnecessary “splits and hard feelings” within tea parties.

“Our group overwhelmingly supports Santorum, but it’s not right to endorse,” she said.

Tea Party Express, a national organization, is holding off on a presidential endorsement, but that could change before Tuesday.

“The movement is coalescing around Gingrich,” Amy Kremer, president of Tea Party Express, told Sunshine State News. She said former Rep. J.C. Watts would be standing in for Gingrich at the group’s rally in Jacksonville on Saturday.

Kevin Wagner, a political science professor at Florida Atlantic University, said Gingrich is a good fit on at least one level.

“Mitt Romney has never been popular with tea party groups, so it is fairly predictable that they would move toward the most viable non-Romney,” Wagner noted.

“With that said, Newt Gingrich has a confrontational style that taps into the anger that many tea party members have. He is a natural candidate on an emotional level, if not a policy one, for the tea party supporters.”

I. GINGRICH: THE SOB WE NEED: ‘Exclusive: Pamela Geller cheers Newt's understanding of Islamic threat!’

Posted on WND.com- By Pamela Geller-On January 24, 2012:

“Newt Gingrich’s victory in Saturday’s South Carolina primary means that we are still alive.

Gingrich really won the primary in the first five minutes of Friday night’s debate, when he challenged John King of CNN. King opened the debate trying to press forward the media’s campaign of destruction of Gingrich, using the 13-year-old slings and arrows of a still-bitter ex-wife. The best thing about the exchange was that Newt turned the tables with the speed and skill of a black belt and put the media on the defensive. It was brilliant, a defining moment. And the crowd cheered. People are fed up.

The country needs a tough fighter. There is a war on the American people; we are under attack from within, and the Republican establishment has been meek, cowed, defeated. Gingrich is fierce. We need a fighter to go toe-to-toe against the silver-tongued snake in the White House.

Longtime readers of my website AtlasShrugs.com know that I have not been a Gingrich fan, so he has had to have done and said extraordinary things and taken courageous positions during this GOP battle for me to support him for the GOP nomination.

And he has. Gingrich continues to persuade me with his arguments. I pricked up my ears a few months back, when Gingrich said that he would pursue the prosecutions of the unindicted co-conspirators (CAIR, MSA, MAS, ICNA, ISNA, etc.) named in the largest terrorist-funding trial, the Holy Land Foundation conviction. Is it any wonder that these Muslim Brotherhood groups are quaking in their jackboots? Hamas-tied CAIR just called him “one of the nation’s worst promoters of anti-Muslim bigotry.” It’s a badge of honor.

Gingrich has also enraged them by coming out against Islamic law (Shariah), the most repressive political ideology on the planet today. He said last week: “A truly modern person who happened to worship Allah would not be a threat; a person who belonged to any kind of belief in Shariah, any effort to impose it on the rest of us, would be a mortal threat.” He said he was “totally opposed” to the use of Shariah in American courts and support laws against it.

Also last week, Gingrich stated that the “rising Islamization of Turkey has been accompanied by a 1,400 percent increase in women being killed.” When someone in the enemedia asked if he would ever support a Muslim who ran for president, he said: “When you look at the application of Shariah in places like Iran, when you look at churches being burned in Nigeria and Egypt, and that the decline of Christians in Iraq from about 1,200,000 when the Americans arrived to about 500,000 today, I think it depends entirely on the person. If they are a modern person integrated in the modern world and they are prepared to recognize all religions, that’s one thing. On the other hand, if they’re Saudis, who demand that we respect them while they refuse to allow Christians to worship in Saudi Arabia, that’s something different.”

Gingrich even came out against the Islamic supremacist Ground Zero mosque, calling it a “deliberate and willful insult to the people of the United States who suffered an attack by people who are motivated by the same thing.”

And several weeks ago, Gingrich far exceeded all expectations when he spoke the truth about the fact that the “Palestinians” are an invented people, a fake nationality created by Yasser Arafat as a weapon to destroy Israel. The ensuing reaction from the Jew-hating left was visceral, but not unexpected. I was enormously disappointed, however, as the entire Republican field dumped on Gingrich for telling the truth about the Muslims in Gaza and the Jewish territories of Judea and Samaria.

Gingrich said what everyone knew: that the emperor has no clothes. But Romney, Santorum and conservative Washington insiders used Israel as their excuse for their failure to stand up for the truth when it was finally spoken. Instead of spontaneous, enthusiastic support for Gingrich’s exposing of the dirty lie, they sought to force the cat back into the bag. Shameful.

Yes, Gingrich has much to answer for. Yet while Newt has an inconsistent history, he seems a man of the time. He knows what America needs: He sees the threats from within and without, and he is pulling no punches. Romney is not strong enough for the coming battle. Newt may be an SOB, but he’s our SOB. And we need an SOB to defeat the snake in the White House.

Despite the influence of independents and Democrats who vote in these primaries, the Republican base does not want a RINO. Get out the vote. Volunteer, donate, knock on doors. If Hamas satellite organizations in the U.S. like CAIR are sweating bullets over a Newt candidacy, he would be best for freedom and country.

Also, a debate between Gingrich and President Barack Hussein “Uh Uh Uh” would be thoroughly delicious. And good for you.”

II. Chuck Norris Endorses Newt Gingrich for President!

Posted on WND.com-By CHUCK NORRIS-On January 20, 2012:

“Our republic as America’s founders created it is under assault from extremists outside our country and anti-constitutionalists inside our country. Combined with the flailing American economy and global markets, Western civilization remains on the brink, as experts and all the GOP presidential candidates agree.

President Obama has tried and failed miserably to fix our economy, deepening us and our posterity into more than $6 trillion in additional national debt – something he criticized former President Bush for as “unpatriotic” and “irresponsible.” Yet unemployment rates remain at higher levels than when Obama was elected, and the dollar is as unstable as the Middle East.

As important as it is, now is not the time to be mincing through minutiae and infighting via typical partisan battles. Rome is burning, and we need to appoint the best firemen possible to rush in and put out her fury. What’s critical at this point is to appoint a commander in chief who can clearly lead America to a more solvent and secure future.

No man or candidate is perfect. We all have skeletons in our closet. If buried bones became unforgivable bones of contention, the world would never know or will never know another Benjamin Franklin, King David and others like them. We must remember that we’re electing a president, not a pastor or pope. And with the mainstream media and a billion-dollar Obama campaign coffer on the president’s side, we need a veteran of political war who has already fought Goliath, because he will be facing Goliath’s bigger brother.

In the last few editions of my weekly column, I detailed “10 questions to find our next president” in no particular order of importance. I proposed that the name of the candidate that fills the majority of the answers deserved readers’ vote.

1.     Who is most committed to follow and lead by the U.S. Constitution?

2.    Who has the greatest leadership ability to rally, unify and mobilize citizens across political and societal spectrums?

3.    Who has the best working comprehension of America?

4.    Who has the best ability to influence a volatile world away from its brink of destruction?

5.     Who has clear and present moral fortitude?

6.    Who can best beat President Barack Obama (in and outside of debates)?

7.     Who has the best abilities to lead Washington politics and politicians?

8.    Who has the best plan and leadership ability to restore America’s economy?

9.    Who is the most fiscally prudent?

10.  Who has demonstrated the highest regard for human life?

For my wife, Gena, and I, we sincerely believe former Speaker Newt Gingrich is the answer to most of those questions and deserves our endorsement and vote.

We agree with our friend and governor of the great state of Texas, Rick Perry, when he suspended his campaign and endorsed Gingrich, that Newt “has the heart of a conservative reformer.” We believe Newt’s experience, leadership, knowledge, wisdom, faith and even humility to learn from his failures (personal and public) can return America to her glory days. And he is the best man left on the battlefield who is able to outwit, outplay and outlast Obama and his campaign machine.

I would only challenge and call Newt to fulfill the rallying strategy he outlined in South Carolina in November by utilizing the expertise and skill sets of the other GOP presidential candidates (even those who have bowed out) among his future administration. Newt explained:

I do approach this whole campaign, I think, differently from everybody else. We have a number of friends who are also running. We have no opponents except Barack Obama. I think that’s very important. I think [Abraham] Lincoln was very wise, as was captured in a book called “Team of Rivals,” in actually developing literally everybody who [was] his opponent ended up in the [presidential] Cabinet, because he needed all of them in order to be able to put together the political power during the crisis that we faced. I would say the same thing. I don’t know a single person currently running who wouldn’t be a very effective member of an administrative team who doesn’t have real talent and in some way would bring a unique strength. I don’t have any opponents on the Republican side.

Again, as Gov. Perry said during his “strategic retreat” (citing Gen. Sam Houston) from the GOP presidential race, “This mission is greater than any one man.”

I’m tired of watching our country being torn to shreds by those who think the answer is more government debt and control. I’m tired of being in bondage to a tax system that robs U.S. citizens like the king of England did before the Revolution. I’m tired of watching our sovereignty being sold by foreign loans and loose borders. And I will not sit back and merely watch this decay and degradation of the U.S. and then hand it over to my children and grandchildren to deal with.

That is why Gena and I have committed the rest of our lives to help Old Glory rise again to her heights of splendor. And that is why we are endorsing and standing with Newt Gingrich, because we believe he can lead all of us who have committed to the same.

If you’re ready to keep fighting the good fight and once and for all restore our republic, then I invite you to join my wife, Gena, and I by endorsing, rallying behind and voting for Newt Gingrich as GOP nominee and then president of the United States.”
