 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
Today is the National Day of Prayer. In 1775, on the eve of Revolution, the First Continental Congress called for "a day of public humiliation, fasting, and prayer." Indeed, our Founders saw a national day of prayer as a fitting observance.
In 1952, Congress established the National Day of Prayer as an annual event by a joint resolution, signed into law by President Harry Truman. The NDP designation (36 U.S.C. § 119) calls for the nation "to turn to God in prayer and meditation."
Prayer is Almighty God's prerequisite for true hope and change, and our nation needs an abundance of both right now. The Patriot Post's National Advisory Board and staff invite you to join us, and millions of our countrymen, in prayer for our nation today at 12:00 local time.

Guccifer and a Judge Hound liar-Clinton Over Email   Server Speaking to reporters from a Romanian prison cell, the hacker who goes by the name Guccifer claimed to have accessed liar-Hilly Clinton's private email server. "It was like an open orchid on the Internet," said Guccifer, a.k.a Marcel Lehel Lazar. "There were hundreds of folders." Lazar was recently extradited to the United States for breaking into the email accounts of notable Washington politicos such as Gen. Colin Powell and liar-Clinton adviser Sidney Blumenthal. If the hacker actually accessed the server stored in liar-Clinton's basement, he might have done so through Blumenthal's email. The liar-Clinton campaign, however, is vigorously denying the allegation. A statement declared, "[H]is descriptions of Secretary liar-Clinton's server are inaccurate," adding that Guccifer never posted proof of the breach on the Internet. But the hacker — whom the FBI will question — claims he downloaded files upon files from the server that contained classified information. And are we really supposed to believe liar-Clinton?
Not only is there mounting evidence that secrets were jeopardized because liar-Clinton flippantly handled classified information, there's a growing case that she violated the Freedom of Information Act. Yesterday, a federal judge said he might order liar-Clinton to appear for disposition to explain why she wanted to operate an email account outside the control of the State Department. The judge wrote that the State Department "may have purposefully attempted to skirt disclosure under FOIA" by creating a private email server and the issue needs to be investigated. If both allegations prove true, then it means a Romanian hacker accessed some of the most sensitive of information just because liar-Clinton wanted to avoid oversight. That's a narrative that will destroy her leadership credibility and open the possibility for a loose lips-Biden-Warren ticket -The Patriot Post

Another Insurance Company Mulls Exiting nObamaCare
In its release of first-quarter financial reports, Humana Inc announced it might leave some of the nObamaCare health care exchanges because it was losing too much money. Currently, the company, which is being sold to Aetna Inc, sells individual plans in 15 states. But the first quarter of 2016 was hard on the company because only 875,000 people signed up for its service, 150,000 fewer customers than a year ago, and profits dropped. Humana is the second insurer to mull leaving the nObamaCare exchanges. Last month, UnitedHealth announced it was pulling almost completely out of the system nObama built.
Part of the problem was that overly optimistic pro-nObamaCare advocates promised insurers the Americans going to the exchanges would be more numerous and healthier than they actually ended up being. Now, it's another year and once again "health insurers struggle to offset new costs," as The Wall Street Journal headlines. Despite the law requiring that everyone purchase insurance, many companies will once again increase premiums by double-digit percentages to cover loses. Is any policymaker noticing that it's the consumers who are struggling with the new costs? It's proof the worst of nObamaCare's troubles are in its future.  -The Patriot Post

The Propaganda Network Behind liar-Trump’s
Bizarre Tabloid Charges
by Cliff Kincaid
.
.
{aim.org} ~ Until Tuesday, political observers thought Donald J. liar-Trump got information about foreign affairs from the Sunday shows. Then we learned that he had relied on an unsubstantiated story in the National Enquirer for the facts about the assassination of John F. Kennedy... The charges were classic Russian disinformation. These had a double purpose—taking attention away from the communist conspiracy that actually murdered President Kennedy, and transferring the notoriety to liar-Trump’s political opponent in the U.S. presidential race. The attack on Cruz’s father, publicized by liar-Trump on the Fox News Channel, was taken directly from the National Enquirer but has also been transmitted by a series of outlets known to be part of Moscow’s global propaganda apparatus, and some lesser-known left-wing, or “progressive,” sites. One name that figures prominently in several of the reports and who apparently “broke” the story is Wayne Madsen, who claims all kinds of high-level intelligence connections. Until the Cruz story, his main claim to fame was being the source for a story in the Globe—another supermarket tabloid—which alleged that President George W. Bush was having an extramarital affair with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice...   National Enquirer and liar-Trump are not telling the truth.      http://www.aim.org/aim-column/the-propaganda-network-behind-trumps-bizarre-tabloid-charges/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email050516&utm_medium=email

Never, ever, ever, ever, surrender
by Chris Skates
.
{chrisskates.com} ~ I did a short post the other day that I would not longer be doing political commentary. Don’t take that to mean that I have ANY intention of backing down from the fight for our nation, our culture, and the hearts and minds of our citizens and community. I will never surrender... I am just going to use different tactics outside federal politics. The keyword there is federal. And I shouldn’t say I will NEVER write about the federal government or political candidates again. If a viable third party arises I might or if Ted Cruz or a Conservative like him Ben Sasse makes a presidential run, I would. But Presidential politics and its cabal with the media is just too broken for me to waste my energy on any further. liar-Trump’s nomination will be proof of that. If this nation nominates him in the midst of all these crises we are facing, then the electorate is worse off and more easily manipulated than I thought...     http://chrisskates.com/never-ever-ever-ever-surrender/

{yahoo.com} ~ The deputy commander of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard said Iranian forces will close the strategic Strait of Hormuz to the United States and its allies if they "threaten" the Islamic Republic, Iranian state media reported Wednesday... The comments by Gen. Hossein Salami, carried on state television, follow a long history of both rhetoric and confrontation between Iran and the U.S. over the narrow strait, through which nearly a third of all oil traded by sea passes. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday criticized U.S. activities in the Persian Gulf. It's unclear whether that signals any new Iranian concern over the strait or possible confrontation with the U.S. following Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers...

{aei.org} ~ This week, those in the school choice community have celebrated National Charter Schools Week, and for good reason. Though there are multiple vehicles of school choice, charter schools are the largest in the country... Today, over 6,700 charter schools operate in 42 states and the District of Columbia, educating nearly 3 million students and constituting more than one in 14 public schools nationwide. This growth is a remarkable feat, considering “charter school” was hardly a household name 10 years ago. But while charter schooling often come to mind first when school choice is mentioned, a new and promising form of educational choice is worth some attention of its own. Enter Education Savings Accounts (ESAs). Started in 2011 when Arizona passed the first ESA program, ESAs alter the school choice conversation from one focused on schools to one focused on educational choices...     http://www.aei.org/publication/examining-the-next-step-in-school-choice/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaig

Why Senator Ben Sasse Misses the Point

{redstate.com} ~ Yesterday, Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse posted a letter on Facebook laying out how he thinks the GOP got to where it is and the way forward. A colleague of mine, Leon Wolf, posted on it a little earlier today... The letter bears reading and I encourage you to do so. This is the underlying fallacy. Most “farm towns” in this nation turned out to vote for Donald liar-Trump. Ted Cruz suspending his campaign is not the result of a conspiracy of GOP hacks in DC. It is the result of the judgment of a large number of GOP voters who, mostly, hail from rural and ex-urban areas. The quicker we dispel the notion that their is an inherent wisdom in small town America which, by the way, gave us the Klan and America First and an inherent corruption in our political class, the quicker we might be able to find a way forward. Donald liar-Trump, along with liar-Hilly Clinton and Bernie Sanders, have run campaigns based on just what Adams feared: avarice, ambition and revenge. Americans rejected a dozen or so men who would have governed for the great betterment of this nation in favor of class envy and economic grievance. In fact, the principles that Sasse proposes were roundly rejected by GOP voters. Unless and until voters determine that government is not there to personally enrich them and to punish their perceived enemies we are basically stuck where we are...

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ A few months ago I wrote a piece titled Putin's moral clarity on radical Islam at the UN - Did I just say that?  To be sure it was a bit of surrealism - just check out the title!... Amongst many other inclusions, in the article I quoted Putin's speech at the UN, during which he describes the dangers of ISIS and the poor results of US foreign policy in terms of various dangers emerging as a result of our nObama's failed Middle East efforts. Well it's time to look at how the Middle East, global events, and my predictions played out from when it was first posted. Let's recap what has transpired since I wrote that....Putin has control over Santa's Village and the North Pole. His air force has invaded our sovereign air space - both the continental US territory, and our US Navy. He has turned part of Syria into a Russian outpost. Iran has enjoyed an influx of money, as European interests invest in that energy rich nation. The fine friendly folks of Tehran have advanced their missile capacity, and are continuing nuclear development, as well as other forms of advanced weapons. Iran's proxies continue the strategy of death by a thousand cuts on Israel.  Iran has outplayed nObama deftly, and is reaping the benefits without any sacrifice. ISIS is a global franchise holder with offices across the Western world preparing to attack at opportune moments - whether bringing an airliner down, or attacking public transportation centers or office buildings, ISIS has had significant success. It is destroying historic landmarks of incalculable value, raped and murdered children, slaughtered families, and embarked upon a policy of genocide against Christians that has gone largely unnoticed by nObama, and ignored by the media. The US military budget is being cut, and our capabilities degraded. nObama has put boots on the ground in Iraq while the media largely turn a blind eye. Palestine is getting away with atrocities against Israel - while the UN and team nObama, along with team Bernie continue providing political cover... http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/putins-moral-clarity-isis-disingenuous-pundits-and-the-truth?f=must_reads

The Muslim Brotherhood Enables
an Islamic State Threat Here
by SECURE FREEDOM MINUTE
.
{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ The nation's top intelligence official says the U.S. could experience Paris- or Brussels-style coordinated, murderous terrorist attacks. He still seems clueless, however, about why that's so... National Intelligence Director James Clapper warned that the Islamic State could utilize terrorist cells already in place across the country. But neither Clapper nor President nObama have addressed what really has facilitated jihadism in Europe: namely, the infrastructure of safe-havens, training facilities and armories that have been put in place over the past five decades by the Muslim Brotherhood among their mosques, Islamic centers and front groups. The ugly truth is that the Brothers have been allowed to put such an infrastructure in place here, too. Barack nObama has turned a blind eye towards the Muslim Brotherhood's stealthy, subversive malevolence - and thereby enabled it...     http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/the-muslim-brotherhood-enables-an-islamic-state-threat-here?f=must_reads

{bigstory.ap.org} ~ The FBI has interviewed Huma Abedin, a close aide to liar-Hilly Clinton, as part of a federal investigation into liar-Clinton's use of a private email server as secretary of state, a person familiar with the probe said Thursday... The person insisted on anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. The FBI and Justice Department have been investigating whether sensitive information that flowed through liar-Clinton's email server was mishandled. Abedin was one of liar-Clinton's closest aides during her tenure as the nation's top diplomat, serving as deputy chief of staff. It was not immediately clear whether other aides have been interviewed, or when or if liar-Clinton herself might be questioned...  http://www.bigstory.ap.org/article/c82d21be40b6487fb4c46b20e57f9595/ap-source-clinton-aide-interviewed-email-investigation

{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ A major threat to Sweden's security today is the Swedish journalistic establishment: it downplays the migration crisis with ridiculous arguments... As migrants flooded into Sweden in December 2015, Fredrik Virtanen, a writer for Sweden's largest newspaper, Aftonbladet, wrote an article entitled, "Have refugees forced you to buy worse red wine?" It is not really dangerous, Virtanen argues, that that Sweden was accepting 160,000 migrants; such migratory movements, he wrote, do not really impact anyone's life. Today, however, we know that many people's lives have been affected by the influx of migrants and that the problems are about more than wine. They are, for example, about sexual assault, the murder of staff in asylum accommodations and chaos in the Swedish school system. But Virtanen was right: red wine is still here...     http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7860/sweden-establishment

{defenddemocracy.org} ~ People think early European immigrants to America were seeking religious freedom. In fact, they sought escape from religious persecution. Not quite the same thing... The policy not to molest or hinder those practicing even what were seen as false religions took time to crystallize.  Gradually, however, tolerance came to seem sensible -- or at least preferable to other options. And, eventually, the children of the Enlightenment who designed the American system of government proclaimed freedom of religion a right – a right endowed not by those wielding political power but by the Creator. This was a revolutionary idea. In most of the world, it’s still a revolutionary idea. People think the founders were idealists. In fact, they were realists. They recognized that the citizens of the new nation they were establishing would have as much dividing as uniting them. They didn’t expect that to change. So they built a structure within which Americans might live and work most successfully. Conflicts would be managed. A utopia in which conflicts would be abolished was not envisioned...

Calling All Anti-Capitalists and Ivory Tower Educators

.
{townhall.com} ~ A new Harvard University survey shows that 51 percent of young Americans don’t support capitalism --which goes to show you that higher education can’t fix stupid -- especially when it’s flowing from the mouths of anti-capitalist educators who, when you’re listening to them, make you envious of every deaf person you’ve ever met.

These educators take advantage of their captive audiences, rambling on with their vast “knowledge,” mistaking the blank stares and half-smiles in the room as “interest,” having no idea that if they heard themselves in playback, they’d probably stab themselves with their pointing sticks.

So, before all you anti-capitalists jump on the socialism bandwagon, why not first take a look at what’s happening in Venezuela, that pitiful place on the globe where it takes a wheel barrel full of cash to buy a hot dog. Literally.

I know, American socialists are far above eating hot dogs, and probably prefer munching on exotic tree bark, but if a hot dog is what’s available thanks to your beloved socialism, needing a wheel barrel full of cash to buy one is a bit much, wouldn’t you say?

To be frustrated with the free market system is fair, but it’s unreasonable to believe that the temporary economic downswing in 2008 makes the case for ditching capitalism altogether. To further suggest that socialism is a viable alternative to capitalism is ludicrous.

Obviously, some students believe this, based on the Harvard survey. But don’t blame the students, blame the educators who say what they say more out of necessity than conviction. Just like everything else in life, follow the money and you’ll find the motive.

Like parasitic leeches which attach themselves to a host for survival, public universities and private ones like Harvard through grants, receive large portions of their funding from federal and state governments.

Cut off that lifeblood and the subsidized ivory towers come crashing down, allowing those who have little to no experience in the free market -- but slander it anyhow – to experience the real world, vis-a-vis poor Venezuelans suffering at the hands of big government anti-capitalists like them.

Irony. It happens, like the “Walk-Ins Welcome” sign I saw planted in front of a cemetery. Or the “Prophecy class cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances” message a church once posted. Or, in the case of our ivory tower educators, Venezuela happened -- amidst their attempts to paint a rosy picture of socialism, omitting from their lectures historical facts about the collapse of communism in the Eastern bloc.

Allow me to describe what socialism looks like in 2016:

In the first years of the Hugo Chavez' regime, personal freedoms decreased when Chavez enacted democratic socialist economic policies, including redistribution of wealth, strict business policies, expropriations and expensive social programs the oil-rich country couldn’t afford.

Now Venezuela has a shortage of over 75 percent of basic necessities like medicine, food, toilet paper and hygiene items, forcing Venezuelans to forage for food (tree bark comes in handy) and wait in ration lines. Citizens are required to use “fingerprint cards” for purchases in government-run supermarkets where individual consumption is rationed along with government rationing of water, electricity and gasoline. To no surprise, politically-related arrests, killings and executions are prevalent.

Experts fear famine is next because the government cannot afford to import goods. It can’t even afford to pay for the worthless money it contracted out to be printed last year. The government blamed food and toilet paper shortages on Venezuelans, accusing them of overeating.

The International Monetary Fund says this year Venezuela’s inflation rate will rise to 500 percent, while other experts predict 700 percent. That’s why you need wheel barrels loaded with worthless cash to buy hot dogs. Venezuela’s run out of other people’s money as well as its own, making the case that capitalism’s not so bad after all.
