Mike Pompeo: If liar-Clinton's Cabinet
stayed during impeachment, I can stay for Trump
by Pete Kasperowicz
{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ CIA Director Mike Pompeo argued Thursday that if members of former President liar-Bill Clinton's Cabinet could stay in their jobs during liar-Clinton's impeachment... then he should have no problem continuing to work for President Trump even if Trump fires people investigating his supposed ties to Russia, a move many Democrats say would be an impeachable offense. The issue came up when Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M., asked if Pompeo would resign if Trump ended up firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein or special counsel Robert Mueller. Pompeo, who has been nominated to be Trump's new secretary of state, rejected the proposal. "We all lived this," he said. "There was a time when we had a president impeached, right? We had a United States president impeached. Enormous domestic turmoil, and it's my recollection that most of the Cabinet members chose to continue to do their best, to defend American democracy, and to do their roles around the world."...  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/mike-pompeo-if-clintons-cab...

Dershowitz: Robert Mueller Is ‘a Zealot’
by TRENT BAKER
{ breitbart.com } ~ Sunday on New York AM 970 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz ripped special counsel Robert Mueller... calling him “a zealot.” “I think Mueller is a zealot,” Dershowitz told host John Catsimatidis. “I don’t think he’s partisan. I don’t think he cares whether he hurts Democrats or Republicans, but he’s a non-partisan and a zealot. Look, he’s the guy who kept four innocent people in prison for many years in order to protect the cover of Whitey Bulger as an FBI informer. … Those of us in Boston don’t have such a high regard for Mueller because we remember this story. The government had to pay out tens of millions of dollars because Whitey Bulger, a notorious mass murderer, became a government informer against the mafia.” “These four people – two of them died in jail, and two of them spent long, long periods of time in jail. And that’s regarded in Boston as one of the great scandals of modern judicial history. And Mueller was right at the center of it,“ he recalled...  http://www.breitbart.com/video/2018/04/08/dershowitz-robert-mueller...

Growing Wave Of Support
For Jim Jordan To Take Over As Speaker
by ROBERT DONACHIE
{ dailycaller.com } ~ Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan is getting pressure to throw his name into the mix to replace outgoing Speaker of the House Paul Ryan... but he is not yet willing to say whether or not he intends to make a bid for the speakership in the coming months. “What’s important is not who the next speaker is, but what the next speaker does,” Jordan told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “It’s time to start delivering on what we told the American people we would do.” Forty-eight-year-old Ryan officially will not seek re-election in November, validating months of speculation around Washington the speaker was ready to hang up his hat after serving nearly two decades in Congress, he officially announced  Wednesday morning. Ryan made the decision to spend more time with his family so as not to be a “weekend” father, he told reporters...  http://dailycaller.com/2018/04/12/darkhorse-jim-jordan-speaker-of-t....
FBI: You’ll Have to Wait
THREE YEARS to See Strzok/Page Text Messages

{ restoreamericanglory.com } ~ The FBI has told Judicial Watch that they will have to wait at least three years before they can get their hands on the full communications intercepted... between controversial agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. The freedom watchdog filed a FOIA lawsuit against the Justice Department in January to obtain the communications, many of which have already been released to the public through congressional channels. These communications, thus far, have shown Americans that these two FBI agents – both heavily involved in both the liar-Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump investigations – had a serious bias against the latter. The texts have also indirectly shown: The liar-nObama White House was more involved in the Trump investigation than it let on, there was a “secret society” of FBI agents working against Trump, Loretta Lynch’s faux-recusal from the liar-Clinton investigation was a total farce, and much more. Judicial Watch is eager to see the full slate of messages to determine what else the Bureau might be hiding from the American public, but apparently the FBI isn’t going to hand them over. Not, at least, anytime soon. Outrageous,” tweeted JW founder Tom Fitton...I agree with Tom Fitton, its outrageous.

CBO Quietly Revises GDP Growth Outlook Upwards

by Political Editors:  Much of the mainstream media’s attention has been focused on the Congressional Budget Office’s report that the federal deficit would top $1 trillion by 2020, blaming Republican tax reform for it. Typical is this Reuters headline: “U.S. budget deficit to balloon on Republican tax cuts.” But the MSM has largely overlooked or ignored a major point of revision within the CBO report. Last year, the CBO surmised that the Republican tax cuts would have little immediate impact on the nation’s economic growth and estimated 2018 GDP at just 2%. That estimate has now been revised up to 3.3% — not a small adjustment. The CBO has also adjusted its 2019 estimates up to 2.4% from what was only 1.5% GDP growth.

Now the CBO is estimating GDP to be $6.1 trillion more by 2027 than its pre-tax cut estimates. Essentially, what the CBO is now saying (albeit not too loudly) is that the tax cuts are paying for themselves. So why all the bad news on a growing budget deficit? As is typical of big government, the fault lies not with tax cuts, as they are proving to create revenue and economic growth. Instead, it’s a convenient excuse designed to avoid the real issue: Government has a spending problem, especially with entitlements. As CNS News reports, “The federal government collected a record $736,274,000,000 in individual income taxes through the first six months of fiscal 2018” — and it still ran a deficit of $599.7 billion.
Too many lawmakers simply refuse to accept a fact that has been demonstrated time and again: People who are free to keep and spend more of their own money as they see fit have a greater positive impact on economic growth and development than a bunch of elitist bureaucrats in Washington taxing us in order to fund their special interest projects.   ~The Patriot Pos

Romney Handed Shock
Defeat By Own State’s GOP

Mitt Romney is back in state politics, this time in Utah instead of Massachusetts. However, conservatives in The Beehive State aren’t exactly warming up to the 2012 Republican standard-bearer quite the way many people expected they would.

After finishing second in votes at the state GOP convention, Romney will now face a primary in his run for the Senate seat being vacated by Orrin Hatch, Fox News reported.

At the convention in West Valley City on Saturday, Romney polled just behind state lawmaker Mike Kennedy.

Kennedy captured 50.18 percent of the delegate vote compared to Romney’s 49.12 percent.

That means the two will face off in a primary on June 26 to determine who will represent the GOP this fall.

Romney, the first Mormon to head a major party ticket, is considered an extremely popular figure in Utah and was widely expected to have an easy path to the upper chamber.

In a hypothetical matchup with Democrat Jenny Wilson, at least one poll showed Romney up by 46 percent. That’s, uh, slightly more than the margin of error.

However, among party loyalists, Romney isn’t exactly viewed with unalloyed fondness.

The 2012 presidential nominee was always known for being decidedly moderate, particularly on issues of immigration and global trade. There was also the fact that he ran a campaign so bumbling that it almost made Michael Dukakis look good.

And then there was Romney’s war of words with Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, which likely led many to perceive he secretly wished Hillary Clinton would take the Oval Office.

Trump would later consider Romney as a secretary of state pick, although how serious the president-elect was about appointing him is something we’ll likely never know.

While your average Utah Republican is unlikely to let these slights affect their vote, hardcore party activists probably don’t want another RINO who isn’t exactly known for his rapport with the president in the upper chamber of Congress, no matter how famous he may be.

For his part, Romney tried to put a good spin on the humiliation.

“I’m delighted with the outcome. Did very, very well,” he told KSTU. “On to a good, important primary ahead. This is terrific for the people of Utah.”

Dude, you just lost to a guy nobody has ever heard of. However, Kennedy was happy with the results, and unlike Romney, he had good reason to be.

“I’m a candidate with a compelling life story and a unique set of life circumstances I’d like to use to serve the people of Utah,” Kennedy said.

I have no idea what that story or those circumstances are, but I think the key point here is that he’s not Mitt Romney. If he wants to win, that’s pretty much what he should be focusing on. I can see the billboards now. “Mike Kennedy: Not Mitt Romney.” “Mike Kennedy: He didn’t borrow Ward Cleaver’s haircut.” “Mike Kennedy: Because Utah deserves a senator whose favorite food isn’t buttered noodles.”

Utah’s electorate tends to be less conservative than convention-goers, so it’s unlikely that Romney won’t be the GOP nominee for Senate. However, that’s not a 100 percent certainty — and it wouldn’t be the first time he’s lost to a Kennedy.
