Zelensky told reporters his now-controversial July 25 phone call with Trump was not related to the U.S. having withheld foreign aid from Ukraine. In fact, the Ukrainian president said he was not aware of Trump’s decision to withhold the nearly $400 million in aid at the time of their phone conversation. And he believes the transcript of the phone call reflects that. “There was no blackmail,” Zelensky said during a day of televised news briefings in Kiev, according to Reuters. “This was not the subject of our conversation,” he added. The July phone call has come under immense scrutiny in recent weeks after an intelligence community whistleblower came forward with allegations that Trump leveraged U.S. foreign aid to pressure Ukraine into digging up dirt on former vice president and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate loose lips liar-Joe Biden. loose lips liar-Biden’s son, Hunter, used to sit on the board of the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, which was at one time investigated by a prosecutor who loose lips liar-Biden — the scumbag/liar-nObama administration’s point man for Ukrainian foreign policy — pressured the country to fire. { thepoliticalinsider.com } ~ The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld a subpoena for President Donald Trump’s accounting records Friday... potentially teeing up a landmark fight between the president and Congress in the Supreme Court. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee issued a subpoena to Mazars USA LLP after former Trump associate Michael Cohen accused the president of inflating assets and erasing liabilities on federal financial disclosures. U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta upheld the subpoena in May. “Contrary to the president’s arguments, the committee possesses authority under both the House rules and the Constitution to issue the subpoena, and Mazars must comply,” the decision reads. Judge Neomi Rao dissented from the ruling. House Democrats say Trump’s alleged actions raise “grave questions about potential conflicts of interest.” The case is Trump v. Committee on Oversight and Reform of the U.S. House of Representatives..

Gowdy reportedly accepted an invitation by the White House on Tuesday to assist in the impeachment inquiry led by Democrats against Trump. The following day Fox News “terminated” Gowdy as an on-air contributor for the network. “Trey Gowdy is a terrific guy. I think there’s a problem with, he can’t start for another couple of months because of lobbying rules and regulations. So you’ll have to ask about that,” Trump said to reporters outside the White House, according to CNBC. Maggie Haberman of the New York Times notes, “Gowdy is unlikely to ever join in the capacity he was hired for. It is not unlike when DiGenova was announced and then unannounced. Someone in West Wing badly wanted a win internally and put out Gowdy before it was a done deal. So it was quickly done yesterday and then had to be undone.” The former representative from South Carolina became known for his role as chair of the House oversight committee. He supported investigations into former Secretary of State scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton and the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack. Gowdy decided to not run again for the 2018 midterm election after serving 8 years in the House of Representatives..

Barr met privately Wednesday evening with Rupert Murdoch, the media mogul who is one of President Trump’s frequent confidants but whose Fox News is viewed by the president as more hostile toward him than it used to be. The meeting was held at Mr. Murdoch’s home in New York, according to someone familiar with it. It was unclear if anyone else attended or what was discussed. Costs Keep Climbing
Political Editors: Health insurance now costs the average American family over $20,000 annually, according to a recent survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation. The foundation’s chief executive, Drew Altman, noted, “It’s as much as buying a basic economy car, but buying it every year.” Bloomberg reports, “While employers pay most of the cost of coverage, according to the survey, workers’ average contribution is now $6,000 for a family plan. That’s just their share of upfront premiums, and doesn’t include co-payments, deductibles and other forms of cost-sharing once they need care.”
Even more troubling is that as the price of health insurance has steadily increased, the percentage of employers who offer insurance coverage has been decreasing. “Fewer Americans under 65 had employer coverage in 2017 than in 1999,” observed Bloomberg. “That’s despite the fact that the U.S. economy employed 17 million more people in 2017 than in 1999.”
Wasn’t scumbag/liar-nObamaCare supposed to “solve” this problem? After all, Barack scumbag/liar-nObama promised that the average family could expect to save $2,500 in insurance premiums per year. In reality, scumbag/liar-nObamaCare has proven to do just the opposite, rapidly increasing the cost of insurance. And the reasons for the increase can largely be attributed to scumbag/liar-nObamaCare’s mandating coverage of pre-existing conditions and the consolidation of the healthcare sector. The Federalist notes, “While providers claim their mergers will provide better care to patients, they also represent a way for doctors and hospitals to demand higher payments from insurers. Reporting has shown how hospitals’ monopolistic practices drive up prices, raising rates for patients and employers alike.” In short, scumbag/liar-nObamaCare worked to limit the free market, which by nature constrains costs.
The problem is everything the Democrat presidential candidates are proposing would only make the problem of healthcare costs even worse. More regulations and more government spending is a recipe for higher taxes and higher healthcare costs. scumbag/liar-nObamaCare proved the government cannot make healthcare cost less.
