Clinton Foundation Profited While Russia Seized U.S. Uranium 
Democrats Trade Blows Over Trade
Today, Russia controls a fifth of the uranium production in the United States, according to The New York Times. Needless to say, this is the bitter fruit of the nObama administration's foolish "Russian reset." Thanks, Hilly Clinton. While a Russian company was taking over energy company Uranium One from 2009 to 2013, millions of dollars tied to the company's previous owners ended up in the Clinton Foundation's coffers. When the deal was made public, Bill Clinton was invited to speak to a Kremlin-linked bank that was promoting the stock of Uranium One. He was paid $500,000. So not only did the Clintons profit off of Russia, but Hilly did so while damaging national security in her critical position at the State Department.
nObama spokesman Josh Earnest wouldn't deny that Clinton Foundation activity influenced the former secretary of state's actions, saying, "I'm not going to be in a position here where every time someone raises a spurious claim that I'm going to be the one to sit down here and say it's not true." But the Clinton Foundation is refilling its tax returns because there were "errors." Apparently, the nonprofit didn't properly disclose donations from U.S. and foreign governments from 2010 to 2012 — y'know, when Clinton was secretary of state. That's a tacit admission there's much more here than a vast right-wing conspiracy, and the nonprofit may be the thing that finally brings Clinton's career to a close. More... -The Patriot Post
VA Helped ATF Seize Veterans' Guns
By now, most everyone knows about the Veterans Affairs wait-time scandal. But health care isn't the only thing for which the VA is making our veterans wait. The Daily Caller reports, "The Department of Veterans Affairs is disarming America's veterans by getting them placed on the FBI's criminal background-check list. The VA sends veterans' personal medical and financial information directly to the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, which can seize their guns in home raids." Sen. Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder demanding to know why "99.3% of all names reported to the NICS list's 'mental defective' category were provided by the Veterans Administration (VA) even though reporting requirements apply to all federal agencies." That's a great question, and one that we're not holding our breath for Holder to answer. Cleveland Recreates Gun Offender Registry
Thumbing its collective nose at Ohio state law, the city of Cleveland passed a battery of gun control laws April 20. Among the changes, the city plans on running a gun-offender registry, requiring residents to notify police when they sell firearms and jailing anyone for six month who doesn't secure guns to the extent the city deems they should. The measures overreach the state's gun laws. The editorial board of The Plain Dealer and Northeast Ohio Media Group supported the gun control ordinances. "The legislation also is a direct challenge to state lawmakers who have sought at every turn, abetted by misguided Supreme Court rulings, to deny Ohio cities their constitutionally guaranteed home-rule rights when it comes to gun laws," the board wrote. "In 2010, the state high court overturned a Cleveland ban on assault weapons as well as city handgun registration requirements. This legislation could be challenged on similar grounds. But until then, it is law." On April 21, Ohioans For Concealed Carry sued the city over the ordinances. "Shall not be infringed" doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room for anti-gun cities to create a patchwork of laws that make a constitutionally sanctioned act criminal in one zip code but not the next. When Republicans disagree with Barack nObama, it’s par for the course; when Democrats revolt against their dear leader, it’s downright entertaining. nObama, who once could do no wrong, now has congressional liberals bucking his bid to push forward a free-trade agreement with 12 Pacific Rim nations via fast-track legislation.
At issue is bipartisan, bicameral trade-promotion authority (TPA) legislation, introduced last week by Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI). It would give the president authority, within the parameters of certain rules, to negotiate the Asian trade agreement and present it to Congress for an up-or-down vote, no amendments allowed. nObama claims such authority is necessary to close negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a 12-nation free-trade deal that some say would be jeopardized if the participating nations think Congress may amend the deal after terms are finalized.
But while Republicans generally favor free trade, many high-powered liberals oppose nObama and are saying "not so fast," despite the fact that almost every president since FDR has had similar authority. One reason for the opposition could be that the powerful AFL-CIO, which, according to OpenSecrets.org, spent $1 million supporting Democrat candidates in the 2014 election cycle and an equal amount opposing Republicans, has not only come out strongly against TPA but also announced it is suspending campaign contributions to federal candidates in order to fight the White House trade plans. -The Patriot Post

Hilly Clinton Wants to Testify to Benghazi Committee Sooner

It’s a total deviation from the customary nObama denials and deflection and as such is worthy of serious scrutiny...Could simple new-found grief over an event which occurred back in January really be behind the public confessions? Not since Dianne Feinstein laid America on the sacrificial altar of self-serving criticism through the release of her “torture report” in the eleventh hour of her Intelligence Committee chairmanship has such a potentially damaging revelation been made. The fact that nObama is claiming that he is airing our dirty laundry as a consequence of our national exceptionalism only makes his position less believable. nObama makes it clear in the beginning that the deaths were the result of “a U.S. counter terrorism operation,” and that he had instructed his national security team and dedicated professionals to pursue the hostage’s release. He points to another intelligence failure as the underlying factor, noting that in spite of hundreds of hours of video tape, the presence of hostages inside was a complete surprise. (jewishworldreview.com) - Saint Michael, the archangel of battle, is tattooed across the back of a U.S. army veteran who recently returned to Iraq and joined a Christian militia fighting Islamic State in what he sees as a biblical war between good and evil.Brett, 28, carries the same thumb-worn pocket Bible he did whilst deployed to Iraq in 2006 – a picture of the Virgin Mary tucked inside its pages and his favorite verses highlighted.
“It's very different," he said, asked how the experiences compared. "Here I’m fighting for a people and for a faith, and the enemy is much bigger and more brutal."
Thousands of foreigners have flocked to Iraq and Syria in the past two years, mostly to join Islamic State, but a handful of idealistic Westerners are enlisting as well, citing frustration their governments are not doing more to combat the ultra-radical Islamists or prevent the suffering of innocents.
The militia they joined is called Dwekh Nawsha – meaning self-sacrifice in the ancient Aramaic language spoken by Christ and still used by Assyrian Christians, who consider themselves the indigenous people of Iraq.
A map on the wall in the office of the Assyrian political party affiliated with Dwekh Nawsha marks the Christian towns in northern Iraq, fanning out around the city of Mosul.
The majority are now under control of Islamic State, which overran Mosul last summer and issued an ultimatum to Christians: pay a tax, convert to Islam, or die by the sword. Most fled.
Dwekh Nawsha operates alongside Kurdish peshmerga forces to protect Christian villages on the frontline in Nineveh province.
“These are some of the only towns in Nineveh where church bells ring. In every other town the bells have gone silent, and that’s unacceptable,” said Brett, who has "The King of Nineveh" written in Arabic on the front of his army vest.
Brett, who like other foreign volunteers withheld his last name out of concern for his family's safety, is the only one to have engaged in fighting so far.
The others, who arrived just last week, were turned back from the frontline on Friday by Kurdish security services who said they needed official authorization.
Tim shut down his construction business in Britain last year, sold his house and bought two plane tickets to Iraq: one for himself and another for a 44-year-old American software engineer he met through the internet.
The men joined up at Dubai airport, flew to the Kurdish city of Suleimaniyah and took a taxi to Duhok, where they arrived last week.
“I’m here to make a difference and hopefully put a stop to some atrocities,” said 38-year-old Tim, who previously worked in the prison service. “I’m just an average guy from England really.”
Scott, the software engineer, served in the U.S. Army in the 1990s, but lately spent most of his time in front of a computer screen in North Carolina.
He was mesmerized by images of Islamic State militants hounding Iraq's Yazidi minority and became fixated on the struggle for the Syrian border town of Kobani -- the target of a relentless campaign by the jihadists, who were held off by the lightly armed Kurdish YPG militia, backed by U.S. air strikes.
Scott had planned to join the YPG, which has drawn a flurry of foreign recruits, but changed his mind four days before heading to the Middle East after growing suspicious of the group's ties to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
He and the other volunteers worried they would not be allowed home if they were associated with the PKK, which the United States and Europe consider a terrorist organization. They also said they disliked the group’s leftist ideology.
The only foreign woman in Dwekh Nawsha's ranks said she had been inspired by the role of women in the YPG, but identified more closely with the "traditional" values of the Christian militia.
Wearing a baseball cap over her balaclava, she said radical Islam was at the root of many conflicts and had to be contained.
All the volunteers said they were prepared to stay in Iraq indefinitely.
“Everyone dies,” said Brett, asked about the prospect of being killed. “One of my favorite verses in the Bible says: be faithful unto death, and I shall give you the crown of life.”
