Killing the Goose that laid the Golden Egg

Pollster Scott Rasmussen says only 23 percent of the American people believe their government has the consent of the governed; that is to say the United States, the most powerful nation on earth, has a will of its own counter to the will of the people.

Imam Rauf is speaking about the government of the American people when he says America has more blood on its hands than Osama bin Laden. The current flap about the location of Imam Rauf’s mosque is not about freedom of religion. It is about a misunderstanding between America’s government and the American people. We, the American people, are the most compassionate, generous people on earth being led down a garden path by a President who has ideas foreign to the majority of the American people’s ideas.

Pollster Rasmussen says the media and politicians misread the Tea Party. He says the division is due to “political elites” and the people. Said political elites, including Obama, credit themselves, due to their higher education, as being more enlightened than the average citizen. They know better than we, the people know, what is good for America—with nothing at all to show for it.

Obama blames everything that goes wrong on Bush. After nearly two years in full control, Obama leaves America in far worse shape than Bush. Obama’s ship is sinking. The only question is what are the Republicans, who brought the economy to the brink of a melt-down, going to do, with the economy in far worse shape than when they lost control? The Democrats’ record is broken. The Republicans’ record is also broken. The only difference in the two parties is in the adjectives they use.

Republicans agree that federal spending has to be brought under control. The Democrats say cutting the tax on the rich; that is, the people who hire, will send spending out of control. Democrats give no credit to those who hire workers. They are “imperialists.” Government entitlements are involved. The music is going to stop and millions are going to be left standing. It involves federal income tax. The Republicans are not talking about these essential elements for getting federal spending under control. The moment they do, the Democrats will jump on them with both feet. As usual, they will not know what to say. They are above calling Democrats what they are. Democrats don’t have that problem.

I wrote about this problem yesterday, the case of misidentification. “You get wedded to your own version.” Both Democrats and Republicans, for the past 70 years, have been addressing the symptoms of the problem, this Democrat remedy or the Republican remedy, avoiding addressing the cause and cure, and in doing so dividing the people more and more. It’s the way of remaining in control at everyone’s expense. We, the people, have gotten wise to the shell game politicians of both parties are playing, according to Rasmussen

A tremendous technological change has taken place in the world in the past 70 years. In spite of the harm U.S. government policy has done to the American economy, generally, the American people are living far better today. One man can do the work of a hundred.

We are so preoccupied with the material we’ve lost site of the quality of life, actually, to the point that we are but a short step from losing it all. Thankfully, the Tea Party is not affiliated with either of the two major political parties. The ball is in our court. It is up to us to come up with a plan that works to the American people’s best interests.

With only 23 percent of the people on government’s side, how we get government entitlements under control is the same way they got control of us. We faze them out by not putting any new people on government entitlements, including illegals. In half a century, this government fraud is over and future generations are no longer forced to pay for our generation’s extravagance.

Labor unions and pensions are bankrupting us. Give states the right to declare bankruptcy. Why should states who keep a lid on spending pay for those states who don’t. The federal government is bailing out states catering to unions, and itself favoring unions at the expense of everyone who is not a member of a union. It’s killing the economy. Has any politician ever mentioned giving the states the right to declare bankruptcy? I’ve not heard anything on it from Republican or Democrat holding office.

We must do away with federal income tax and the IRS. It is a shell game politicians are playing—robbing Peter to pay Paul. We must replace federal income tax with a tax on spending. It does not matter how you make money. Many people making money—drug peddlers, whores, pimps, and such, don’t pay income tax. Businesses doing a cash business skim the cash register. The law is rigged so that billionaires pay less in taxes than middle income earners. A tax on spending would do away with the capital gains tax. Who should care how much money you have? What good is it if you don’t spend it? If you spend it by investing in the economy, we all gain. Nothing we could do would help the economy grow as much as the elimination of federal income tax and the hated IRS. Just think: no more federal snooping into our private affairs.

How did we ever get by before federal income tax and the IRS? How did we ever get by without government entitlements? I was here before average income earners paid federal income tax. I was here before government entitlements. The family was the American cornerstone. Local government was in control. In many ways, life was better when I was a boy than it is now, especially for children. I pity today’s children.

We, the people, are being pitted against each other. Just listen to Obama and Imam Rauf blowing smoke. They have no use for each other. It’s one trying to use the other for political gain. Both are after power and control. Rest assured that nothing is going to change until we, the people, take charge.
