{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ Earlier today Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin held a press conference at the White House to announce a new executive order constructed by the Trump administration that would deliver economic sanctions... due to Turkish activity in Northern Syria. “These are very powerful sanctions. We hope we don’t have to use them. But we can shut down the Turkish economy if we need to,” Treasury Secretary Mnuchin tells reporters. Hello everybody. So, I just met with President Trump, and he has authorized and will be signing a new executive order giving the Treasury Department, in consultation with himself and Secretary Pompeo, very significant new sanctions authorities that can be targeted at any person associated with the government of Turkey, any portion of the government. This will be both primary sanctions and secondary sanctions that will be applicable. The President is concerned about the ongoing military offensive and potential targeting of civilians, civilian infrastructure, ethnic or religious minorities. And also the President wants to make very clear: It is imperative that Turkey not allow even a single ISIS fighter to escape. Again, I want to emphasize: At this point, we are not activating the sanctions. But, as the President has said, he will provide very significant authorities based upon the continuing efforts....
US sending 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia
as Iran threat grows

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ The Pentagon is deploying about 2,000 more troops and military hardware to Saudi Arabia to combat Iranian aggression... Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran have escalated in recent months, most notably when Iran bombed Saudi oil refineries in September. The Pentagon’s latest deployment to the region is the third since July and it is the largest, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Pentagon is sending three missile defense systems and two squadrons of jet fighters along with the troops. U.S. lawmakers are growing increasingly resistant to American support for Saudi Arabia in the escalating Middle East conflict. The troops will join 700 other soldiers already stationed in Saudi Arabia. Iran has grown increasingly aggressive since President Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal negotiated under President Barack scumbag/liar-nObama. Trump withdrew from the agreement and reinstituted U.S. sanctions that have squeezed the petro-state. Iran has launched several attacks into the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping lane, since Trump's action, even shooting down a U.S. drone. Trump announced on Sunday that he had ordered several dozen troops out of northern Syria in an effort to end the "endless wars" in the Middle East. Union will testify in impeachment inquiry

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union who has become a key figure in the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, will appear for questioning in the Capitol on Thursday, he announced... Sondland said he would honor a House subpoena compelling him to appear and answer questions about President Trump’s efforts to get Ukraine to open an investigation into former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden as well as actions by Democrats to solicit help from Ukraine to discredit Trump’s 2016 campaign. Sondland was scheduled for a closed-door deposition on Monday but did not show up after the State Department prohibited his testimony. Three House committees led by Democrats are conducting the impeachment investigation. Sondland is a major GOP donor who Democrats believe has information about whether Trump delayed $400 million in security aid to Ukraine in an effort to get the Ukrainian government to investigate loose lips liar-Biden and the Democrats. Sondland’s lawyers said Friday that while the ambassador will appear to answer questions, he will not bring the documents requested by Democrats because the documents are under the control of the State Department. Democrats want to see Sondland’s texts and emails relating to Ukraine’s security aid. Lawyers say they may let whistleblower
testify, but only in writing

Lawyers representing the whistleblower, who is reportedly a CIA official, have asked that their client submit testimony in writing, according to the Wall Street Journal. “The intelligence committees haven’t yet responded to the inquiry about potential written testimony,” the Journal reported. This being the latest talk of concealing the identity of the intelligence official who expressed concern about President Trump’s phone call to the Ukrainian president, suggesting Trump threatened to withhold foreign aid to get Ukraine to dig dirt on former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden. The Intelligence Community’s inspector general informed Congress in August the whistleblower had a “professional tie” to a Democratic candidate and showed “some indicia of an arguable political bias … in favor of a rival political candidate,” and on Thursday it was reported that the candidate isnone other than loose lips liar-Joe Biden. Earlier this week, it was reported that House Democrats were considering taking “extraordinary steps” to prevent Republicans in Congress from learning the identity of the whistleblower. The Washington Post said scumbag-Schiff’s team was considering masking the whistleblower, having the CIA official testify from a remote location and obscuring the individual’s appearance and voice. The unprecedented move would be a “highly unusual arrangement,” the paper said. Given the highly partisan nature of the impeachment inquiry, the attention on hiding the identity of a person who could be central to removing a sitting president from the American public is noteworthy. His attorneys are participating in the effort to keep his identity a secret. “The whistleblower is not the story,” his legal team said earlier this week, according to Fox News. “To date, virtually every substantive allegation has been confirmed by other sources. For that reason the identity of the whistleblower is irrelevant.”... { apnews.com } ~ House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag-Adam Schiff has hired former National Security Council staffers to work for him as he launches a sweeping new investigation into President Donald Trump’s finances and foreign connections... a move that appears to have drawn particular ire from the president. Trump tweeted Thursday that scumbag-Schiff and Democrats were going “nuts” with investigations and wrote, without elaborating, that they were “even stealing people from the White House!” It’s unclear exactly who Trump was talking about, but the tweet comes as scumbag-Schiff appears to have hired at least one staff member who served on the National Security Council under Trump. The staff member, Abigail Grace, is listed in a House directory as working for scumbag-Schiff on the intelligence panel. A person familiar with the committee’s staff confirms that she is working for the panel and used to work for the NSC. The person declined to be identified because scumbag-Schiff has not publicly announced his new hires. Grace worked for a bipartisan think tank, Center for a New American Security, after working for both former President Barack scumbag/liar-nObama and Trump on the National Security Council from 2016 to 2018. She focused on Asia-Pacific security issues, according to a spokesman for the group. scumbag-Schiff wouldn’t confirm the hires in an interview Thursday, but hinted at them while snapping back at Trump. “We have a long tradition of hiring out of the intelligence community, out of the National Security Council, and if the president is worried about our hiring any former administration people maybe he should work on being a better employer,” scumbag-Schiff said. A committee aide said that none of scumbag-Schiff’s staff have come directly from the White House, but said the panel has hired people with prior experience on the National Security Council staff. “We do not discriminate against potential hires on the basis of their prior work experience, including the administration,” the aide said. { americanthinker.com } ~ With the revelation that a "second whistleblower" has firsthand knowledge of Donald Trump's call to the president of Ukraine and was upset at what he heard on the call, the left-wing legacy media are all a-Twitter... At this point, the rational observer would have to ask, "Just what can this publicity-seeker reveal that is not already in the transcript of the call?" We already know from a rational analysis of the transcript and the testimony of special envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker that there's no "there" there. The call was a to congratulate the new president of Ukraine, with a side issue of continuing an ongoing investigation of Ukraine's corrupt former government's involvement in our 2016 election in favor of — drum roll, please — scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. Coincidentally, loose lips liar-Joe Biden is both a central figure in that corruption inquiry and a candidate for the Democrat nomination for president. Somehow, this last fact is the most important facet of a much larger issue. When multinational crime is committed, it is routine for multinational investigations to be done. Diplomatic niceties often involve heads of state making the request for cooperation between their respective investigative bodies. Since Volodymyr Zelensky had recently assumed office and the investigation has been ongoing, it's natural for President Trump to ask him politely to continue the cooperative effort. "Do me a favor" is simply one polite way to ask. We have to note that this investigation is focused on crimes committed in 2016, not opposition research on a 2020 candidate. Yet the Lefty Loonies are screaming about 2020. "You can't call up a foreign country to dig up dirt on a presidential candidate!" Curiously, this is exactly what scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton did in 2016, but no one seems interested. If the Left were to be consistent — other than consistently insane — it would be suppressing the "whistleblower's" testimony. After all, President Trump is also a presidential candidate in 2020. Let's go a bit farther. Recent reports indicate that liar-Nancy Pelosi's son was also in on the Ukrainian gold mine. Trump's chief irritant, scumbag-Adam Full-of-Schiff, also looks to have Ukrainian problems. Are they immune because they are political candidates? Does investigating wrongdoing by a political personality automatically go off-limits because of the political point of contact? We should ask the late Vice President Agnew or New Jersey's Senator scumbag-Menendez that same question. I'm sure they would have appreciated "political immunity."....

Trump Declines Dems' Invitation to Impeachment Hoax
Thomas Gallatin: President Donald Trump is done playing the Democrats’ impeachment game. On Tuesday, the White House sent an eight-page letter to House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi and Reps. scumbag-Adam Schiff, scumbag-Eliot Engel, and scumbag-Elijah Cummings essentially telling them to put up or shut up. The letter highlighted the fact that liar-Pelosi and Democrats have violated the Constitution, “the rule of law, and every past precedent” in their politically partisan quest to see Trump impeached. The letter, written by Trump attorney Pat Cipollone, bluntly exposes the Democrats’ true political motivation:
Put simply, you seek to overturn the results of the 2016 election and deprive the American people of the President they have freely chosen. Many Democrats now apparently view impeachment not only as a means to undo the democratic results of the last election, but as a strategy to influence the next election, which is barely more than a year away. As one member of Congress explained, he is “concerned that if we don’t impeach the President, he will get reelected.” Your highly partisan and unconstitutional effort threatens grave and lasting damage to our democratic institutions, to our system of free elections, and to the American people.
Cipollone asserts that liar-Pelosi and company’s impeachment inquiry is invalid because no vote was held in the House or even in a House committee to initiate the current inquiry. Instead, liar-Pelosi unilaterally “announced an ‘official impeachment inquiry.’” Cipollone writes, “Your contrived process is unprecedented in the history of the Nation, and lacks the necessary authorization for a valid impeachment proceeding.”
As a result of liar-Pelosi’s invalid initiation of an impeachment inquiry, Cipollone points out that Trump’s due-process rights have been violated. While Democrat-led committees subpoena White House officials demanding compliance under threats of obstruction charges, Trump on the other hand is denied the right to confront witnesses against him, to call his own witnesses, and “to have the assistance of counsel.” All of those things would be afforded him if liar-Pelosi were to actually hold a House vote to officially launch an impeachment inquiry.
The letter concludes, “The President cannot allow your constitutionally illegitimate proceedings to distract him and those in the Executive Branch from their work on behalf of the American people.”
Predictably, liar-Pelosi responded with her own letter alleging that Trump is the one guilty of trying “to normalize lawlessness,” ridiculously adding that “he is trying to make lawlessness a virtue.” And once again liar-Pelosi vacuously asserts that Trump’s “actions threaten our national security, violate our Constitution and undermine the integrity of our elections.” She further asserts that the White House is engaged in a “cover-up” of Trump’s “betrayal of our democracy.” It will be interesting to see if liar-Pelosi moves forward with an impeachment vote, or if she continues to drag out her lawless charade. ~The Patriot Post
