96% of Illegal Immigrant Families ‘Can’t Be Found’
(By Natalie Johnson ) - Thousands of illegal immigrants who spilled into border states earlier this year have “disappeared” from government tracking, according to a recent investigation by a Houston TV station...The wave of unaccompanied children and women illegally crossing into the United States between July and October was so large that Border Patrol had to release thousands on their own recognizance due to lack of detention space. The nObama administration has repeatedly reinforced these cases as a top priority, yet the Houston TV station found that only a sliver have been sent home.       http://dailysignal.com/2014/12/29/96-illegal-immigrant-families-deportation-orders-cant-found/?utm_source=heritagefoundation&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=morningbell&mkt_tok=3RkMMJWWfF9wsRoluqvAZKXonjHpfsX56%2BQpWqS%2BlMI%2F0ER3fOvrPUfGjI4FSsJnI%2BSLDwEYGJlv6SgFQrLBMa1ozrgOWxX0TD7slJfbfYRPf6Ba2Jw1rf8%3D

 Israeli Right to Dominate Election
(frontpagemag.com - by Ari Lieberman) - Navigating the labyrinth of the Israeli electoral process is a daunting task. Unlike the United States which has a 2-party system, Israel is a parliamentary democracy which maintains a multi-party system of government...There are 120 parliamentary seats up for grabs in Israel’s parliament or Knesset, as it is called in Hebrew. The party which garners a majority of Knesset seats may lead but no single party in Israel’s history has ever won a majority of parliamentary seats. Parties are therefore required to form coalitions to obtain the requisite majority which often makes for strange bedfellows. The economy and the security situation are two likely factors that will figure most prominently in voters’ minds when they go to the polls in March. Barring an unforeseen event like a major corruption scandal, Prime Minister Netanyahu of the center-right Likud party, who has led the country since 2009, will almost certainly be the next prime minister in a coalition composed of centrist and right-wing parties.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/ari-lieberman/israeli-right-to-dominate-election/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=6811794ae4-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-6811794ae4-156509103

Somali Muslims Deceived Govt in $4 Million Welfare Jihad
(By Tim Brown - sonsoflibertymedia.com) - In November, I visited St. Paul, Minnesota for the first time and got somewhat of a firsthand look at what Somali Muslims have done to the area in and around the city...Truly, they know how to run the area into the ground. On top of that, it’s also apparent of the welfare jihad that is taking place there as well. The latest incident involves the DEQO Family Centers, which are child daycare centers. According to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, several people (including two owners, who are Muslim) have been charged with 96 felonies in a major scam that defrauded the government of $4 million. It has been widely known that Muslims are encouraged to take welfare for the purpose of jihad and since the founder of Islam was a thief, it is only appropriate that his followers be thieves as well. This is just more welfare jihad in the United States.       http://sonsoflibertymedia.com/2014/12/somali-muslims-deceived-government-4-million-daycare-medicaid-welfare-jihad/

Pentagon Looks To Slash Troop Pay
(BarbWire) - In the buildup to submitting its 2016 budget proposal this February, the Pentagon has admitted that benefits for troops will be slashed even more, continuing the downward trend over the past few years, The Hill reports...Military groups are concerned, as 62,000 troops have been removed in the past three years. And the pay raise included in the 2015 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 1 percent—rather than 1.8 percent—feels hollow, given that housing allowances dropped by 5 percent and pharmaceutical co-pays increased. Some troops betrayed and frustrated, mainly because they’ve just finished fighting the longest war in the nation’s history.       http://barbwire.com/2014/12/30/pentagon-looks-to-slash-troop-pay-and-benefits-in-2016-budget/

Did Swedes Just Decide for National Suicide?
(Daniel Pipes) - Woe to anyone in Sweden who dissents from the orthodox view that welcoming large numbers of indigent peoples from such countries as Iraq, Syria, and Somalia is anything but a fine and noble idea...Even to argue that permitting about 1 percent of the existing population to emigrate annually from an alien civilization renders one politically, socially, and even legally beyond the pale. (I know a journalist threatened with arrest for mild dissent on this issue.) To state that there exists a Swedish culture worth preserving meets with puzzlement. And yet, the realities of immigration are apparent for all to see: welfare dependency, violent bigotry against Christians and Jews, and a wide range of social pathologies from unemployment to politically-motivated rape. Accordingly, ever-increasing numbers of Swedes find themselves – despite known hazards – opting out of the consensus and worrying about their country's cultural suicide.    http://www.danielpipes.org/15329/sweden-national-suicide

Immigration time bomb about to explode on GOP
(By
Garth Kant) - A creeping revolution is underway that’s stealthily altering the very core of America and the ideals for which its ancestors fought and died in freedom’s cause...The phenomenon is leading the country toward embracing the very thing President Thomas Jefferson abhorred: ever-bigger government. And it’s coming from a seemingly harmless policy many Americans embrace. Legal immigration. The numbers don’t lie. The U.S. is experiencing an immigration explosion never before seen in its history:       http://www.wnd.com/2014/12/ticking-time-bomb-about-to-explode-on-gop/

Pakistan’s answer to terrorism: show only good news
( By Robert Spencer ) - It’s much the same in the Western media. The news must be happy, at least when it comes to the global jihad and Islam. Jihad activity is downplayed, ignored, denied, or ascribed to “militants” or “youths,” while the media focus is on “backlash” against innocent Muslims...Those who call attention to the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat are ignored or derided as “bigots” and “Islamophobes,” or it is demanded of them that they report not only on Muslims murdering people and blowing things up in accord with the texts and teachings of Islam, but also on Muslims working at soup kitchens and helping little old ladies across the street. The news about Islam and jihad must be good; to report otherwise, even accurately, is “hatred.” Ignoring the real haters, or downplaying or excusing their violent acts, is the order of the day.       http://www.jihadwatch.org/2014/12/pakistans-answer-to-terrorism-show-only-good-news-at-bedtime?utm_source=Jihad+Watch+Daily+Digest&utm_campaign=7c3e2e6006-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_ffcbf57bbb-7c3e2e6006-123451509

nObama Will Shut Border Agency To Aid Illegals, Says Aide
(Neil Munro) - President Barack nObama will block 2015 funding for the Department of Homeland Security if Republicans includes spending curbs on the president’s executive amnesty, says a top aide...That amnesty action includes the award of work permits, drivers’ licenses, Social Security cards and tax rebates to at least four million illegal immigrants, despite the wage-cutting surplus of American workers in nObama’s economy.       http://dailycaller.com/2014/12/30/pfeiffer-obama-will-shut-border-agency-to-aid-illegals/

Now ISIS sets sights on Israel
(wnd.com) - ISIS, which now calls itself the Islamic State after declaring the creation of a new caliphate, vows in the video: “Allah willing, we will continue to fight against the Israelis and their allies.”...Islam researcher Robert Spencer, editor of Jihad Watch, notes, for example, Jay Michaelson claimed in the Jewish Daily Forward that “the Islamic State is a Salafist jihadist/fundamentalist movement that regards Hamas as impure and the Israel/Palestinian conflict as largely irrelevant.” In the video, however, Spencer writes, ISIS “makes it abundantly clear” that it regards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as extremely important.       http://www.wnd.com/2014/12/video-now-isis-sets-sights-on-israel/

CNN Moves on to New “Scandal”
(By Cliff Kincaid) - CNN contributed to the atmosphere in which two New York City police officers were murdered last week. Then, it shed tears for the dead cops. Their contribution included their inaccurate and sensationalized coverage of police confrontations with black criminals...Now, CNN is moving on, as Republicans prepare to take over both Houses of Congress. The new target: a top House Republican who associated with extremists. CNN wants people to believe the GOP is racked by various New Year’s scandals, including that House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) spoke to a pro-white group in 2002. Scrambling to answer to the liberal media mob, Rep. Scalise is putting out various statements, such as that he didn’t know what the group was all about. He said he now finds the group’s pro-white views abhorrent.       http://www.aim.org/aim-column/cnn-moves-on-to-new-scandal/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email123114&utm_medium=email
America Interrupted
Cal Thomas

(Townhall Daily) - In the film, "Girl, Interrupted," Winona Ryder plays an 18-year-old who enters a mental institution for what is diagnosed as borderline personality disorder. The year is 1967 and the country is in turmoil over Vietnam and civil rights. While lying on her bed one night and watching TV, she sees a news report about a demonstration. The narrator says something that might apply to today's turmoil: "We live in a time of doubt. The institutions we once trusted no longer seem reliable."

As 2014 ends, the stock market is at record highs but our traditional institutions and self-confidence are in decline.

A Pew Research Center study confirms one trend that has been obvious over several years. The "typical" American family is no longer typical. Just 46 percent of American children now live in homes with their married, heterosexual parents. Five percent have no parents at home. They most likely are living with grandparents, says the study.

These startling figures about the decline of the American family contrast with the year 1960 when 73 percent of American children lived in traditional families.

A major contributor to this trend has been the assault on marriage and other institutions by the Baby Boom generation. It was that generation that promoted cohabitation, no-fault divorce, hatred of the police (they called them "pigs" then, too) and disdain for the military and America, spawned not just by the Vietnam War but a life of relative ease unknown to their parents.

The culture bomb dropped by the boomers created fallout still being felt today. The two-plus generations born since the Sixties have been infused with the notion of entitlement, victimhood, envy and greed. Since the elimination of the draft, young people are no longer expected to serve in the military and so most of them pursue whatever goals they wish with no expectation they should give something back to their country. It's one possible explanation for why we can no longer seem to win wars.

History warns us what happens when empires refuse to teach known values that strengthen societies and help protect them from enemies intent on their destruction.

The late British diplomat Sir John Glubb wrote a book called "The Fate of Empires and Search For Survival." Glubb noted the average age of empires since the time of ancient Assyria (859-612 B.C.) is 250 years. Only the Mameluke Empire in Egypt and the Levant (1250-1517) made it as far as 267 years. America is 238 years old and is exhibiting signs of decline.

All empires begin, writes Glubb, with the age of pioneers, followed by ages of conquest, commerce, affluence, intellect and decadence. America appears to have reached the age of decadence, which Glubb defines as marked by "defensiveness, pessimism, materialism, frivolity, an influx of foreigners, the welfare state, (and) a weakening of religion."

Decadence, he writes, "is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, selfishness, love of money (and) the loss of a sense of duty."

Do these not define America at the end of 2014? Glubb says the 250-year average of empires has not varied in 3,000 years, but we don't learn from history because "our studies are brief and prejudiced." He means they are mostly about one's own country.

It will take more than a new Congress in 2015 and a new president in 2017 to save us from the fate of other empires. It will take a revival of the American spirit, and that can only come through changed attitudes towards our institutions and each other.
