POLL: BUSH, RUBIO HEADED FOR FACE-OFF
A new WSJ/NBC News poll shows a narrowing gap between GOP frontrunner Jeb Bush, and political protégé Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. Seventy-five percent of Republicans say they could see themselves supporting Bush, versus 22 percent who couldn’t. The five point gain from the April’s (70 percent – 27 percent) poll shows promise for the former Florida governor’s rebranding as Jeb! instead of Jeb Bush. But for Rubio news is even better. While Bush tops the list as the candidate the most people could support, nearly a quarter of people who still say they couldn’t support him. Rubio’s support comes second in the poll at 74 percent, but only 15 of voters say they couldn’t support him. Rubio’s numbers haven’t changed since the April poll, an indication his dialogue has kept him in steady favor with voters. The poll was also conducted after Bush’s campaign officially kicked off showing that his launch didn’t give him much of a surge ahead of the competition. -Fox

Walker tax plan dispels GOP myths - National Review: “[Scott Walker’s] tax policy helps address the GOP’s biggest weakness, the perception that it is the party of the rich and doesn’t ‘care about people like me.’ Polls since 2012 have consistently shown that Americans think the economy is unfairly tilted toward the rich and that the Republicans are the party of the rich. Say, That Gruber Guy Actually Did Work Closely With nObama
Remember Jonathan Gruber, the MIT professor who served as a key architect of nObamaCare? The one who mocked "the stupidity of the American voter" as he and his elitist buddies crammed the law down our throats? The one whose string of condescending remarks on nObamaCare's deceptive core were caught on video and released to the public? Naturally, Barack nObama tried to throw Gruber under the bus once he had become politically inconvenient, dismissing him as "some adviser who never worked on our staff" and had little to do with crafting nObamaCare. But according to a series of emails sent from the House Oversight Committee to The Wall Street Journal, Gruber had quite a lot to do with nObamaCare after all. "His proximity to HHS and the White House was a whole lot tighter than they admitted," said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), chairman of the House Oversight Committee. "There's no doubt he was a much more integral part of this than they've said. He put up this facade he was an arm's length away. It was a farce." Indeed, Jeanne Lambrew, a top administration official at HHS, thanked Gruber for being an "integral part" in foisting nObamaCare on the nation. And Gruber was in contact with the highest level nObama advisers on the law, from Lawrence Summers to Peter Orszag to Jason Furman to Ezekiel Emanuel. . SCOTUS and the Raisin Hope for Property Rights
Marvin Horne of Fresno, California, has been vindicated. Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled 8-1 that if the Raisin Administrative Committee was going to take Horne's raisins it needed to compensate the farmer. In Horne v. Department of Agriculture, Horne refused to give up his raisins to the Raisin Administrative Committee and the agency was fining him at the tune of $695,000. The committee is a New Deal-era program designed to control the supply of raisins so the prices remain artificially high. It would take a portion of farmers' grapes and either donate them to school lunch programs or sell them overseas. Farmers used to be compensated, but then the payout dwindled to nothing. The Ninth Circuit Court originally ruled in favor of the administrative committee, saying the Constitution's Taking Clause only covered real estate, but Chief Justice John Roberts, writing the majority opinion, ruled, "Government has a categorical duty to pay just compensation when it takes your car, just as when it takes your home." This ruling comes 10 years after the bungled SCOTUS ruling in Kelo v. New London, which said the city of New London could take the home of Susette Kelo and give her property to a private developer. Currently,Kelo's pink home is demolished and the lot stands empty. While the raisin ruling is a step in the right direction, it will take years before the government fully moves past Kelo and respects the property of the citizens. -The Patriot Post

ISIS Mutants Become More Sadistic as They Lose Ground In Syria
(nicedeb.wordpress.com) ~ For months now, ISIS militants have been getting their asses kicked by Kurdish fighters in Syria. In fact they’ve been on a losing streak since the YPG defeated the them in Kobane back in January... Kurdish troops in Syria have managed to retake around two dozen towns and villages in the country’s northeast with the help of coalition airstrikes. Last week, Kurdish forces liberated Tal Abyad, a key ISIS outpost that was an access point to its self-declared capital of Raqqa. Now they’ve captured an ISIS-held military base thirty miles from Raqqa. As Islamic State ghouls have lost ground, they’ve also lost whatever shred of humanity remained in their black and shriveled souls. These horrific recent stories from Iraq and Syria include drownings, electrocution, sexual slavery and the torture of children. The headlines range from terrible — to the stuff of nightmares.

Land seized and sold in a controversial Supreme Court case
(Benjamin Weingarten) ~ As eminent legal scholar and takings expert Richard Epstein notes at National Review, June 23, 2015 marks the 10 year anniversary of one of the Supreme Court’s most controversial cases relating to private property, in Kelo v. City of New London... For those unfamiliar with the case, in a five-to-four decision the Supreme Court ruled in Kelo that New London, Connecticut could use the power of eminent domain to seize private property from its owners and sell it to developers as part of a broader economic development plan. Specifically, the Court ruled that the development of the property would qualify as a “public purpose,” constituting a “public use,” thereby representing a Constitutional taking pursuant to the Fifth Amendment, given the public benefits to be gained through the developer’s use of the seized land. Investigation Exposes AMP Leaders' Ties...

But the Investigative Project on Terrorism finds that many of the same functions – fundraising, propaganda and lobbying – endure, now carried out by a group called American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). The IPT investigation identified at least five AMP officials and speakers who worked in the previous, defunct network called the "Palestine Committee." Senate Approve Fast-Track For Second And Final Time
(Connor D. Wolf) ~ The Senate approved for a second time Wednesday a measure granting President Barack nObama fast-track authority in a move that will greatly increase the chances of eventually passing his massive international trade deal... Trade Promotion Authority, also known as fast-track, has been the primary point of tension for the president and many within his own party. The measure passed just a day after the Senate approved a procedural move to cut off debate and now just needs to be signed by the president — which he is likely to do. With fast-track the president could submit a finalized trade deal to Congress, like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), that could not be amendment or filibuster and only need a straight up or down vote. Another Kind of Unity
(Haviv Rettig Gur) ~ Edward Grossman’s essay captures in an impressionistic sweep the intertwined fears, joys, and dangers that make up the present-day Israeli experience... Looming over it all is the distant yet imminent Persian menace—a menace that, Grossman fears, Israel’s fractured political class may not be up to. Hence his call for a new politics of unity in the Jewish state. While the essay neatly captures much of the Israeli condition, something important is missing. Grossman’s question, “Can Israel Unite?” seems to be premised on the assumption that the factional nature of Israeli parliamentary politics somehow mediates and reflects a deeper absence of solidarity within Israeli society itself. Nation’s poor to the FCC: ‘We’re way ahead of you’
(Mark Jamison) ~ Last week the FCC adopted a proposal that, according to the agency, takes “significant steps to modernize its Lifeline program.” Lifeline is a 30 year-old telecommunications subsidy program for low-income households... After 30 years, you would think that the program has made a demonstrable impact on making “phone service affordable for low-income Americans,” as the FCC put it. You would be wrong. As I think most American’s would agree, the FCC is right for caring about the poor, but the agency’s plan doesn’t put that care into action. Despite Chairman Wheeler’s statements to the contrary, as quoted in the National Journal, this isn’t a partisan issue. It’s an evidence issue.

(Michael Cutler) ~ On June 17, 2015 the Subcommittee on National Security and the Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits and Administrative Rules conducted a joint hearing concerning “A Review of the President’s Executive Actions on Immigration.”... Inspector General (IG) John Roth testified at this hearing along with Sarah R. Saldaña, the Director of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and León Rodríguez, the Director of USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services). For those not familiar with the federal government, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is comparable to “Internal Affairs” where police departments are concerned. Importing a Potential Epidemic
(Arnold Ahlert) ~ By now most Americans are familiar with the nObama administration’s ongoing effort to force-feed amnesty for illegals to a largely recalcitrant American public... The most egregious part of this effort occurred during last year’s border “surge” when the administration not only embraced the admittance of tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) into our nation, but the purposeful andsecret dispersal of them into all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. What Americansdon’t know is that the nObama administration ignored Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines that apply to legal immigrants and prevent the unvaccinated, or those with a “communicable disease of public health significance,” from entering the country. The spray-tanned con artist, who resigned this week as head of the Spokane chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of (Artificially) Colored People, is the inevitable outcome of academia’s cult of manufactured victimhood.

College campuses have been grooming a cadre of professional minority fakers and fraudsters for decades.

The notorious pretendians Ward Churchill and Elizabeth Warren faked their Native American status to bolster their faculty credentials at the University of Colorado and Harvard, respectively. It was a mutually beneficial racket for all poseur parties involved. Churchill and Warren basked in their tenured glory. The schools racked up politically correct points for adding the right flavors to their employment rolls.

Churchill was specifically granted a “special opportunity” position that his school created to increase “diversity” on the teaching staff. Warren falsely listed herself as a minority professor in a law school directory. Harvard officials eagerly touted Warren’s bogus background, the Boston Herald reported, to “bolster their diversity hiring record in the ’90s as the school came under heavy fire for a faculty that was then predominantly white and male.” Based solely on what Warren later admitted was unsubstantiated “family lore,” the Fordham Law Review called her the “first woman of color” at Harvard Law.

The pressure to conform and cash in on the cult of oppression chic is even more virulent among the student body. Race-based affirmative action is a primary catalyst.

Take Vijay Chokal-Ingam, brother of TV star Vera Mindy Chokalingam. He pretended to be black in 1998-99 in order to gain admission to St. Louis University School of Medicine.

“In my junior year of college, I realized that I didn’t have the grades or test scores to get into medical school, at least not as an Indian-American,” he wrote. “So, I shaved my head, trimmed my long Indian eyelashes and applied to medical school as a black man. … Vijay the Indian-American frat boy become Jojo the African-American Affirmative Action applicant to medical school.”

From the moment they apply to the nation’s elite institutions of higher learning, applicants are rewarded for playing up racial division, ethnic strife and identity politics.

“I told Harvard I was an undocumented immigrant,” Dario Guerrero bragged in The Washington Post last fall. “They gave me a full scholarship.”

In the 1990s, top-tier schools introduced a “diversity essay” requirement for undergrad admissions. The online “Common Application” used by hundreds of colleges and universities directs prospective students to “describe an experience that illustrates what you would bring to the diversity in a college community, or an encounter that demonstrated the importance of diversity to you.”

More recently, the University of California at Berkeley mandated that all graduate school hopefuls supply a “personal history statement” with “information on how you have overcome barriers to access opportunities in higher education.”

And that’s not enough. Applicants for every U.C. Berkeley graduate program must provide “evidence of how you have come to understand the barriers faced by others, evidence of your academic service to advance equitable access to higher education for women, racial minorities and individuals from other groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education, evidence of your research focusing on underserved populations or related issues of inequality, or evidence of your leadership among such groups.”

These “progressive” schools then herd their young charges into color-coded dorms and segregated academic departments, where they can stew even deeper in their “otherness” and gripe about “white privilege.”

We’ve moved from “separate, but equal” to “separate is superior.”

In addition, I’ve chronicled dozens of cases of minority students over the years who have faked hate crimes when they were dissatisfied with their level of systemic oppression. Instead of being punished, many of these p.c. performance artists have been praised by college administrators and faculty for “raising awareness” of social injustice.

Is it any wonder, then, that lying liar Rachel Dolezal learned from historically black Howard University to loathe the skin she was born in?

After receiving a full art scholarship based on her portfolio of “exclusively African-American portraiture,” she reportedly encountered bigotry from campus officials who had assumed she was black when she applied. She lost a lawsuit against the university in which she described an atmosphere “permeated with discriminatory intimidation, ridicule and insult” for being white. Soon after, according to her family, she began to make her creepy transition and continues to “identify as black.”

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. If you can’t make it, fake it. In the ivory tower, the most afflicted and the most offended are at the top of the food chain.
