{ rickwells.us } ~ The news that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has completed a draft copy of his investigative report... into misconduct leads off an information packed interview with Reps Jim Jordan and Ron DeSantis, and Sara Carter. Carter points out that the release date had to be extended because there was new information that she says Horowitz felt “was imperative” to include in the report. She says, “This is going to be very important,” noting that the IG has the 1.2 million documents “that Congress has been practically begging for” as well as pushing and threatening with subpoenas. Rep Jordan says it’s good news that the report will be coming out soon, “but more importantly, I think, is the letter we sent. We’re just tired of the runaround we’ve been getting from the Department of Justice. { activistpost.com } ~ China has opened a railway link with Iran as a response to the sanctions set on the Middle Eastern country by President Donald Trump’s administration... after Trump recently ended the Iran deal. Meanwhile, the U.S. and Israel are working to spin the narrative about the protest in Gaza after Israel massacred 58 Palestinians and injured scores of others by blaming Hamas. This sets the stage to blame Iran, which is known to fund Hamas, according to the group’s new leader Yehiyeh Sinwar, who stated last year they repaired relations with Iran after a five-year rift. Other countries are choosing to work with the Middle Eastern country. { lidblog.com } ~ Things have gotten out of hand at the Justice Department, and the way things are going... the swamp water of disdain for the truth will continue rising. The most severe offense by Justice was raiding the offices and homes of Michael Cohen, one of President Trump’s Lawyers. Rob Rosenstein approved the break-in raid at the suggestion of Special Counsel Muller. The case was assigned to the Southern District of New York for adjudication. The FBI agents crashed in and took files and equipment belonging to Cohen. He has charged that much of what they grabbed was confidential and covered under the Sixth Amendment. Trump Is Correct: China to Blame for Millions of Job Losses
by Political Editors: A new study concludes that Donald Trump is right to blame China for millions of Americans losing their manufacturing jobs in the 2000s. Susan Houseman of the Upjohn Institute has found that the popular theory of new automation technology being the primary culprit for job losses among American manufactures is full of holes. The finding is similar to that of a study conducted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor David Autor, whose research found that two decades of trade deficits with China is the primary culprit in American manufacturing job losses precisely because it has contributed to undercutting technological development. In other words, the findings are the exact opposite of the widely assumed reason for job losses. Houseman’s research finds, as MarketWatch explains, “The government for decades has vastly overestimated the growth of productivity in the American manufacturing sector. It’s been growing no faster, really, than the rest of the economy. What that means is, the adoption of technology is not the chief reason why millions of working-class Americans lost their jobs in a vast region stretching from the mouth of the Mississippi river to the shores of the Great Lakes. Nor was it inevitable.”
China developed its manufacturing often by appropriating innovation development from the U.S., all while taking full advantage of the strong dollar against the cheaper Chinese currency and raising tariffs against American imports. With that manufacturing base and capability established, U.S. companies then began moving operations to China. Setting up shop in China, innovation in America slowed while China saw it grow.
This is the economic challenge Trump recognized and campaigned to fix. Manufacturing needs to be brought back to the U.S. and leveling the playing field via challenging China with tariffs is one component of this effort. ~The Patriot Post
