California Could Become First State
to Offer Health Care to Illegal Immigrants
by Nick Givas
{ dailysignal.com } ~ Orange County 2nd District Supervisor Michelle Steel said Monday on Fox Business’ “After The Bell” that California could become the first state to offer free health care services to illegal immigrants... “California has 1.5 trillion in debt and on the top of it, that we have $258 billion unfunded pension liability. We’re talking about only two big unions we’re talking about, like public employees union and teachers union. Only that, $258 billion. How are you going to add more money for health care coverage for illegals?” Steel said. “I mean, this is almost like obnoxious.” Steel said the state government is pushing its agenda too far and thinks its financial estimates are unreliable...Just think we use to live there for 40 years..

FBI Informant Stefan Halper Accused Of Making ‘False’
And ‘Absurd’ Allegations About Russian Infiltration At Cambridge
by CHUCK ROSS
{ dailycaller.com } ~ The FBI informant who made contact with members of the Trump campaign has made allegations of Russian spy infiltration... at the University of Cambridge that people involved in the matters have called “false” and “absurd.” A Russian academic who worked at Cambridge with the informant, Stefan Halper, said he made “false allegations” about her interactions with former national security adviser Michael Flynn at an event the Cambridge Intelligence Seminar (CIS) hosted in February 2014. Halper’s claim in December 2016 that Russians infiltrated CIS has also been called “absurd” by Christopher Andrew, the official historian for MI5 and head of CIS, the Financial Times reported...Mueller Rejects Speedy Trial Law
To Delay Russian Collusion Trial
by RICHARD POLLOCK
{ dailycaller.com } ~ Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked a federal judge Tuesday to reject the four-decade-old speedy trial law... in the case against 13 Russians and three Russian companies and has asked for an indefinite delay to the Russian collusion trial. It is the second time Mueller tried to delay the trial. Judge Dabney L. Friedrich, a Trump appointee, rejected the earlier request without comment and ordered the case to go forward. One of the Russian companies — Concord Management and Consulting — entered the U.S., hired American lawyers, and demanded a speedy trial. The Speedy Trial Act is a 44-year old federal law that dictates that a federal criminal case must begin within 70 days from the date of the indictment...Why the delay get on with it. http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/23/mueller-delay-russia-trial/?utm_medium=email .
.Rising Income, Dodd-Frank Rollback Yield GOP Support
by Nate Jackson: Lower taxes and reduced regulations have been a theme of Donald Trump’s presidency. The result has been a boost to the economy. The latest is a report showing that median household income is steadily rising again after stagnating during the previous administration. In January 2017, it was $59,471; now, it’s $61,483. According to Investor’s Business Daily (IBD), “Household income is now higher than it’s been in at least 50 years — after adjusting for inflation.” The economy is largely about consumer confidence. Rising incomes, more jobs, lower taxes and less regulation all add up to help people feel better about the economy, which then propels even more growth. So it’s against this backdrop that Congress has accomplished a notable feat — rolling back significant chunks of Democrats’ onerous financial regulations. In 2010, Democrats rammed through the massive Dodd-Frank regulatory package in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, which, by the way, Democrats created with bad policy started in Bill Clinton’s administration. The result of Barack liar-nObama’s regulatory bonanza was years of stagnation.
Tuesday night, the House passed reform legislation, following the Senate’s lead back in March. The bill falls short of dismantling Dodd-Frank, but it will substantially help smaller banks that weren’t big enough to cope with Democrats’ massive regulations. Republicans raised the threshold for many of those regulations from $50 billion in assets to $250 billion, meaning just 12 banks will be subject to onerous oversight instead of 38.
“You take what you can get,” said economist Stephen Moore. “If I can get half a loaf, I take that over no loaf at all.”
Meanwhile, one final measure of the economy may actually be the “generic ballot” poll between Republicans and Democrats. “As recently as March,” IBD notes, “Democrats had an average 9-point lead on this question — which is seen as an indicator of the enthusiasm for the two parties going into the midterm elections in November.” Now? Republicans are up by six points, their first lead in this election cycle. Perhaps voters are putting two and two together — Trump’s economic policies are directly benefiting the average American. Why go back to the Democrat malaise? ~The Patriot Post
