A msg from Mychal Massie

Today is the infamous "Black Friday"-- the official start of the holiday shopping season. Manufacturers, stores, and malls have used television, radio, newspapers, circulars, and bill boards in the run-up to this day. All of this in pursuit of the novel idea of "spend your money," and which the credit card companies hope we will do to excess.

But, while we are planning how to spend our money today through the weekend, have we taken thought to giving to that which has eternal value?

How many reading this have stopped to think about giving to the work of the Lord before we think about giving to Walmart, Target, and Macy's? How many reading this have thought about seeing to the needs of our church before rushing off in search of the elusive bargains being offered? How many reading this have checked to see if there is something important that missionary families need? How many reading this have given to our church, pastoral family, and/or missionaries, not because they have need, but because it is our way of thanking the Lord for them?

While advertisers would have us believe the most important thing is giving them our money, I submit that we need to arrange our priorities placing God at the top of our lists, and there is no better way of doing that than by doing it.

The first priority in our lives must be God. If we as individuals get our priorities right, we will see America begin to get her priorities right. That is the best way to take our country back.
