Obama's new game

Obama's speach was 80 percent as expected but with a new twist. He advocated spending on roads, bridges, teachers, firefighters and police which translates to unions. Throw some money at it and it will get better for a while. The problem is that it won't last. After the money is spent, the municipalities will be faced with either continuing these jobs or laying off all these new employees. The government has no way to support the unions like this without it becoming an unfunded mandate on the cities and towns. The new twist though involves how he will pay for it. True to form he doesn't want to inflame any group so he doesn't do it. Instead he says that his new deficit reduction group will figure it out. If you remember, this group of 12 is tasked with finding cuts and if they can't, ( 6 Dems and 6 Reps on the committee) the cuts will come out of defense and medicaid equally. So what do you think will happen? It looks like his plan is, by doing this, to gut defense and medicaid without ever being blamed for it. This, gutting defense, I believe has been his plan all along. The man is no leader, he throws up these I have a dream speaches and doesn't dare say I have to cut here or there in order to achieve the dream. He thinks that this way when things implode he can once again point to gridlock as the reason.

Fast and furious

Obama's operation on our southern border to move large quantities of assault weapons to the Mexican drug cartel should be his Watergate. You see, he thought that quietly slipping hundreds of guns into Mexico would result in an escalation of violence and he could say, " because of our lax gun laws, murders and associated violence is now happening out of control along our borders and this is proof that we should ban guns." A stupid plan but there is no doubt that at the very least that his Attorney General knew of the operation and no doubt, if Holder knew, Obama did too. What they didn't plan on was one of the people involved to blow the whistle and once the cat was out of the bag, there was no covering it up. The shame of the whole thing is that one of our border agents was murdered with one of these guns. Now this changes everything. Now the operation resulted in a murder. Now those who were behind the program are accomplices to murder and should be tried and sent to jail. When a bartender puts a drink in the hand of a customer who should have been shut off and that customer drives drunk and kills someone, the bartender now faces charges. Same thing! Congressman Issa is having hearings on this and he is digging to find out the truth. If Bush did this, the Democrats would be screaming for impeachment. Lets push Issa to keep the pressure on so we can get some justice for, at least our dead border guard. Oh by the way, the justice department is blocking the family of the border guard from having the incident declared a crime which would entitle them to seek damages.
