An employee at MNsure, Minnesota's new online health insurance exchange, accidentally distributed confidential information about more than 2,400 insurance agents.
MNsure officials acknowledged mishandling private information. They said the employee sent an e-mail to the office of an Apple Valley insurance broker on Thursday afternoon that contained Social Security numbers, names, business addresses and other identifying information.
The employee realized her mistake and immediately called the broker, Jim Koester. Then a MNsure security manager called to walk Koester and his assistant through the process of deleting the file from their computer hard drives. Koester told the Star Tribune he willingly complied but was unnerved by what happened.
"The more I thought about it, the more troubled I was," he said. "What if this had fallen into the wrong hands? It's scary. If this is happening now, how can clients of MNsure be confident their data is safe?"
It most certainly will not be safe... if the TSA is any example of what minority hiring can do wait until ACORN is running all the 'Pilot' centers for Obama Care... nightmare, we hope that is all it becomes. Total disaster most likely...
The answer to that question is they can't be sure. Mistakes happen all the time, sometimes deliberately.
They do not say who the third-world representative was who made the error.
They do not say: a.) If this is the only time this imployee has done this, or b.) Was or wasn't caught, or c.) what punishment she received.
There is an old saying that goes any question to which you already know the answer in NOT a question. So to the statement ""What if this had fallen into the wrong hands? It's scary. If this is happening now, how can clients of MNsure be confident their data is safe?" We already know the answer to this questing, but the real question is will we allow it to continue...
Again, it really is no question when we already know the answer... will it continue? Yes and it will only get worse.
Wait until Acorn and its affiliates become the primary contractor for 'Navigator' centers, the primary facilitators for those looking to navigate thru the mired details needed to access Obama Care... No one may get any care, after these 'navigators' end up scattering your paper work half way around the world.
Laugh my a-- off!!!
It is time to get rid of social security numbers etc. The government just collects personal information to mis-use and control the people.
What a mess... you all know this stuff will eventually lead to mandatory ID cards, then to micro chips under the skin or tattoos required to buy or sell.
The beauracracy of obummercare in action. Makes me feel safe. LOL
God help us !
I have come to the conclusion there is no way to fix our broken government. If you can't fix something, you discard it; throw it out; put it in the trash.
Everything about Obama is scary!
It hasn't even started yet,,,and it has already had a security leak,,,,
