Dan Pfeiffer, a senior adviser to Obama, said Friday that the White House is taking the prospect of impeachment in the GOP-controlled House more seriously than many others in Washington, who see it as unlikely.
Pfeiffer noted that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has a large following among Tea Party conservatives, has called for Obama’s impeachment and a large block of the GOP’s base favors it.
“I saw a poll today that had a huge portion of the Republican Party base saying they supported impeaching the president. A lot of people in this town laugh that off. I would not discount that possibility,” he told reporters Friday at a breakfast sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor.
Pfeiffer said Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) decision to file a lawsuit against Obama over his use of executive actions increased the chance of impeachment proceedings in the future.
He said that possibility could become more likely if Obama takes executive action to halt the deportations of illegal immigrants who have strong ties to the United States, such as those who have family members who are U.S. citizens.
“I think Speaker Boehner, by going down the path of this lawsuit, has opened the door to Republicans possibly considering impeachment at some point in the future,” he said.
Palin wrote an op-ed for Breitbart earlier this month calling for Obama’s impeachment because of his handling of the surge of unaccompanied minors from Central America on the Texas border, calling it the “last straw that makes the battered wife say ‘no mas.’
She has also criticized Boehner’s lawsuit as a weak move.
Boehner has pushed back against pressure from Palin and other conservatives.
“I disagree,” he told reporters this month.
Yes they are taking it seriously for the political value it gets if the RINO's half step on this. If they otherwise go the route I laid out above ? They will screw the democrats for decades. But I agree if the weak RINO's we got leading the Congress now half steps ? It will be a farce like that with Slick Willy !!!
the primary duties of the president is to protect and defend the American people....including its borders...apparently Obama never got the memo on this, and now we have essentially an open border, and there is too much hoopla over these children, and not enough concern over the ms-13 gang bangers that are flooding into this country, illegals from china, Pakistan, jourdan, iran, Iraq..and a dozen other countries...and Obama's current policies are to just allow these illegals to be distributed all over the country, never to be seen again....all because Obama wants to pass amnesty, which he says will stop the flood at the borders.....well one little clue barry.......they are flooding the borders because of amnesty....and since you have no plan on shutting down the borders....explain to me how amnesty will stop these illegals from flooding the borders...and what about our national security.....why should some terrorist attempt to fly into this country, when they can just walk across the border?
No joke - I got an email from Nancy Pelosi yesterday, two from the Democrat Party and one from the White House, all talking about impeachment. They were trying to raise money to fight it. Or at least, that was their excuse.
You don't know that - it could be for private jets to shuttle South American illegals into the U.S.
Here's today's message:
Let’s be clear: impeachment is COMPLETELY without merit. But that doesn’t mean Boehner’s Tea Party Republicans won’t do it.
REPUBLICANS WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO DESTROY BARACK OBAMA’S PRESIDENCY
We simply can’t let this happen without a fight.
The vote to sue Obama on the House floor is coming up THIS WEEK.
If we want to fight back, we HAVE to get to the $2,OOO,OOO mark this weekend.
That's right, the Democrat Party specifically mentioned the Tea Party!!!
The Senate is not required to initiate impeachment. In fact the fear it will not find for removal is not adequate reason to halt proceeding in the effort: if the Senate does not remove, at that point, the Senate itself will be dragged to its own reform by the shear weight of its inadequate reaction: the weight will be on them entirely, greater than the criminality of the Executive.
The continuous corruptive regime, which has had the ability to change its name periodically to appear to do something other than play segments of the society against each other to its own benefit to the destruction of the Republic has reach a point of un-supportability.
After the governmental exporting of over 17 billion $1000 bills in our name as markers on some foreign (and any times fictional) ledgers, the majority of working taxpayers cannot see how they can each be held to owe over $150,000 each to keep this nightmare alive. That realization has reach enough o the population to even bring reality to those citizens-in-name-only who are now only cloaked in tarnished trust and a soild flag.
Impeachment is the more graceful and recognized option of the two, put in the Constitution as the lawful means to remove the most serious threat to the nation -- the alternative does not allow for deliberation and consideration of all the consequences we know must come going forward with Law and order.
The treat of Martial Law to preserve corruption, where is no law, is an empty threat that pales in the face of impeachment (or The Other). The Constitutional limit of The Republic has been reached and its abandonment will not be tolerated.
As it stands, we have no enemy that can defeat us as a people in a free country; the enemy within that cannot dominate because of our Right to Liberty, are the only real enemies today. We must remove all those from positions given to preserve The Republic, as such powers they have come solely to abuse in their cause of tyranny -- by whatever means necessary if impeachment and removal are resisted.
All that is required for right to be done is just one man who is honest to himself and with those around him. What we suffer from today is there is no like that in or near the White House.
Obama's been a thorn in America's side since he took office. It's time to prune him at the neck, on tv, so the whole world can see what America does to communist usurpers ...Semper Fi Nam 66-67
They are too cowardly to do anything! The king believes he is untouchable!
Good news in the paper this morning... He's 'concerned' about the impeachment possibility. He must have stopped fund raising for five minutes and seen something about it... Or maybe the driver of his golf cart had a conservative station in his iPad.
Impeachment is only is only effective if it includes REMOVAL.
That's ALL Bonner could come up with "I disagree" ! Not one rebuttal or reason, just "I disagree". For God's sake bonner, FIND your balls.
That's our Speaker of the House!! Impressive, huh?
Maybe we should IMPEACH CONGRESS- for NOT DOING THEIR DUTY IN PROTECTING OUR CONSTITUTION!
Obama has gotten away with such bold lawlessness BECAUSE OF CONGRESS! Try that on for size- Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner!
