What Would You Be Willing To Do If The GOP Steals The Nomination?

The Tea Party Research Team predicted this! ...but what are you willing to do about it? Let the GOP get away with silencing the voice of the people?

Or are you willing to............?

Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.

“The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here,” Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC’s “ Squawk Box ” on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.

Haugland is one of 112 Republican delegates who are not required to cast their support for any one candidate because their states and territories don’t hold primaries or caucuses.

Even with Trump ’s huge projected delegate haul in four state primaries Tuesday, the odds are increasing the billionaire businessman may not ultimately get the 1,237 delegates needed to claim the GOP nomination before the convention.

This could lead to a brokered convention, in which unbound delegates, like Haugland, could play a significant swing role on the first ballot to choose a nominee.

Most delegates bound by their state’s primary or caucus results are only committed on the first ballot. If subsequent ballots are needed, virtually all of the delegates can vote any way they want, said Gary Emineth, another unbound delegate from North Dakota.

“It could introduce Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, or it could be the other candidates that have already been in the race and are now out of the race [such as] Mike Huckabee [or] Rick Santorum. All those people could eventually become candidates on the floor,” Emineth said.

House Speaker Paul Ryan , who decided not to run for the White House this year, said in a CNBC interview Tuesday he won’t categorically rule out accepting the GOP nomination if a deadlocked convention were to turn to him.

Democrats experienced the last true brokered presidential convention to go beyond the first ballot in 1952. Republicans came close at their 1976 convention.

“The rules haven’t kept up,” Haugland said. “The rules are still designed to have a political party choose its nominee at a convention. That’s just the way it is. I can’t help it. Don’t hate me because I love the rules.”

Haugland said he sent a letter to each campaign alerting them to a rule change he’s proposing, which would allow any candidate who earns at least one delegate during the nominating process to submit his or her name to be nominated at this summer’s convention.

If the GOP race continues at the same pace, Trump would likely have a plurality of delegates. So far, he’s more than halfway to the 1,237 magic number.

Trump split Tuesday’s winner-take-all primaries in Florida and Ohio.

The real estate mogul dominated in Florida over Sen. Marco Rubio , who dropped out of the race after losing his home state.

But Trump lost Ohio to the state’s governor, John Kasich . Trump also won Illinois and North Carolina. He held a slim lead over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in Missouri early Wednesday.

Emineth, also a former chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party, told “Squawk Box” in the same interview that he’s concerned about party officials pulling “some shenanigan.”

“You have groups of people who are going to try to take over the rules committee,” he warned. “[That] could totally change everything, and mess things up with the delegates. And people across the country will be very frustrated.”

“It’s important that the Republican National Committee has transparency on what they’re doing [on the rules] going into the convention and what happens in the convention,” he continued. That’s because of “all the votes that have been cast in caucuses and primaries. Don’t disenfranchise those voters. Because at the end of the day, our goal is to beat Hillary Clinton or whoever their [Democratic] nominee is in November.”

Emineth said he’s worried that frustration would discourage Americans in the general election from voting Republican.

Gregory, have to agree.  This nation has the upcoming generation so dumbed down and brain washed, that they won't see the destruction coming.   They think everything is okay and that we should be socialists because of the teaching going on.  Neutral gender?  What is that?

Nobody pays any attention to the Georgia Guide stones.  They were put there for a reason. They were erected clear back in 1980.  Clearly states what must happen.  History repeats because it's not taught.

DeniseInAZ    The attitude that I see all around me is one of "well, what ya gunna do?"  As apathetic as can be. Someone else's job.

The apathetic response to our nations problems is why it is important to have effective leadership... Effective leaders turn apathy around, by motivating the apathetic to take action. This is principally done by providing directed efforts planed and resourced to correct the problems causing the frustration, leading to apathy.

We need real Leadership.. effective national leadership.

Right now, we have the great divider.

Soros funded Obama's campaigns (twice) & is now funding Hillary's.    He is rotten to the core, but Hillary loves Power & Money more than America so, like Obama, she will owe her soul to Soros.

I know, that's why we are losing the country.

IMHO, we are losing the country because the pastors and church do not know the founders, framers, DoI and Constitution. Very few stood up to the illegal, unconstitutional case verdict by the corrupt SCOTUS, because they do not dare to enter politics.

Instead, they only do what the culture allows them to do, thereby letting the culture define the barriars for the church, instead of picking up that sword as Jesus said, "I came NOT to being peace, but I came to bring the SWORD."

It's about time WE THE PEOPLE and WE THE CHURCH, stood up upon the shoulders of our dear founders, who prophetically shouted from the rooftops, about the NECESSITY of a moral, religious (Christian only) and educated people, and got themselves into all the schools to vet textbooks, and researched textbooks on their own, to find the ONE that tells the truth of our Christian heritage. It's about time someone got that the DoI authorizes the govt. to PROTECT and PUNISH evildoers, and used our own founding documents in any and ALL discussions with libs, who are worshipping at the alter of social justice.

The church does ONLY what the culture decides for them and THAT is why we are so lost.

A big Amen to that, and I agree with you on that one

"The church does ONLY what the culture decides for them and THAT is why we are so lost."

Actually, the Church is to lead the Nation, by establishing a Christian culture... The Church (leadership) has failed to keep our culture on course.

Apostasy sits in the pews of a once vibrant and living Church in America... America needs revival if it is too be saved from the ways of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Why the left HAD to get control of the schools so accurate history is NOT taught.

Parents are too ignorant to understand after 3 generations.

Welcome back, ATL!

Obama Lies Again: – Ignores That The Year After Signing The Stimulus More Than (4) Million Jobs Were Lost

Former President Obama, the only President in US history who had his FBI and other Intel agencies spy on the opposition party candidate, claims that he created the great economy that Americans are enjoying today. The only thing Obama created was debt and massive job losses with his horrible economic recovery.

Yesterday the former President tweeted an effort to take credit for President Trump’s successful economy:

Joe Hoft@joehoft

Of course another @BarackObama lie. He can’t open his mouth without lying. 11 years ago the US lost (4.3) million jobs over the next 12 months. Horrible liar. https://twitter.com/barackobama/status/1229432034650722304

Barack Obama  @BarackObama

Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.

President Obama’s policies were a disgrace and a failure. He doubled the national debt in spite of zero interest rates from the Fed. His recovery was the worst in US history.

Also, Obama’s assertion is just plain false. The ‘Stimulus’ was passed in February 2009 right after Obama took over the Presidency. He promised to not pass any bills for at least a week to allow for the bills to be read by the people but lied as soon as he was sworn in. The Stimulus was hundreds and hundreds of pages of government handouts to Democrat districts and it was close to $1 million. This was not what America needed and it led to the Tea Party.

Far-left Wikipedia has this to say about the Stimulus:

Note that in his infinite wisdom, NYT economist Paul Krugman is credited with arguing that “the stimulus was far smaller than the economic crisis warranted”. (He also said the markets would crash and burn if President Trump was elected President.)

The data shows that the 12 months after Obama’s stimulus, the US lost 4.3 million jobs:

In Obama’s first three years he netted a loss of 1.5 million jobs compared to President Trump who has added more than 6.7 million jobs.

When it comes to the economy, the billionaire schools the community organizer every time.
