Earlier this week, liberals forced out the CEO of tech company Mozilla for privately holding common but unfashionable political views. Liberals continue to hound the owners of Hobby Lobby for defending their religious liberty, and also harass the libertarian Koch Brothers for supporting liberty-friendly causes.
Every week it becomes more obvious that liberals are not liberal in any way shape or form.
The word "liberal" comes from liberalis, the Latin word for "freedom." Politically speaking, the Oxford English Dictionary defines "liberal" as "favoring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform."
Understandably, the Founding Fathers were called liberals since they reformed the status quo to vastly increase personal liberty politically, economically, and religiously. Today's "liberals" are the fiercest defenders of the status quo, desperately clinging to outdated economic theories, educational policy and governing models.
So is that how dirty harry describes himself in the church....a Gadianton Robber...and if so how do the mormons justify him and his family being among them....
The Mormons have a book of scripture that they believe was given to Joseph Smith by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This book is the Doctrine and Covenants. We revere that book as much as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Here's what it has to say:
And now, verily I say unto you concerning the laws of the land, it is my will that my people should observe to do all things whatsoever I command them. And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me. Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land; And as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less than this, cometh of evil. I, the Lord God, make you free, therefore ye are free indeed; and the law also maketh you free. Nevertheless, when the wicked rule the people mourn. Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil. And I give unto you a commandment, that ye shall forsake all evil and cleave unto all good, that ye shall live by every word which proceedeth forth out of the mouth of God. - Doctrine and Covenants - Section 98:4-11
I think that pretty well describes our current situation.
It also says:
According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles; That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment. Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another. And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood. - Doctrine and Covenants - Section 101:77 - 80
Just like Joshua redeemed the Promised Land for the Children of Israel through the shedding of blood, this nation was redeemed from England by the shedding of blood, and, of course, there have been thousands of lives lost by our servicemen and others who were protecting our Nation.
And one of our most cherished Presidents had this to say about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
The two most important documents affecting the destiny of America are the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. Both of these inspired, immortal papers relate primarily to the freedom of the individual. Founded upon that principle of free enterprise fostered by these documents, the United States of America, in less than two centuries, has achieved a greatness that far exceeds that of any other country in the world. - President David O. Mckay, Conference Report, October 1966, First Day—Morning Meeting, p.5
And, another Statement by President McKay:
Next to being one in worshiping God, there is nothing in this world upon which this Church should be more united than in upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States. - President David O. McKay - The Instructor, Feb. 1956, p. 34.
So, I have no idea as to how to answer your question. I have asked the same question myself and even thought about filing charges with his bishop in Nevada over the treason that he is committing and the fact that he is violating the teachings of our Savior.
Traitors or terrorists. Take your pick.
How about scum rat socialist communist pig thugs. I think that pretty well nails it although it is kind of long but I think they are deserving of it.
Even in idle conversation we can no longer refer to them as the "democrats" or the "democratic" party. We need a new name to catch on such as "social democrats" or the "socialist democratic" party, or the marxist democrats or something along those lines. When we all begin to refer to them in this way the names will eventually catch on.
In as much as I would like to use names such as "demonrats", etc., they would not be taken seriously and would not catch on. This must become a movement and not just a bad attitude. It must become a way of communicating what this corrupt party represents and not just an opportunity to insult. While sarcasm and ridicule are most certainly justified, in general conversation it would not be taken seriously.
And while we're on the subject we must no longer vote for the libertarian party. While I agree with them in principle, when there are two conservative parties on the ballot it divides us and the social democrats win every time. While there are many of us who disagree in principle with a two-party system, dividing the conservative vote at this crucial point in history is unwise.
We must see to it that the socialist democratic party never gets a foothold in the White House again.
Well, the correct name for them is not democrat, liberal or any name that indicats a free society. They are Progressive Socialists. And what they are progressing to is Communism. Take a lesson from the Third Reich. When Adolph Hitler took over as chancellor he destroyed the Democratic Socialist party.
Yes he did. You're absolutely right. As bad as Hitler was, at least he got that part right. And while, yes, they are progressive socialists we must leave the word "democrat" in there somewhere. Maybe the Democratic Socialist Progressives or something along those lines. That way everyone can still identify them by what they used to be called and what they truly are. This needs to become a full-fledged movement. If we keep calling them that, over and over again in every conversation and in every forum and at every opportunity the name will eventually catch on
Fascists is still a good term. Fascism borrowed theories and terminology from socialism but replaced socialism's focus on class conflict with a focus on conflict between nations and races. Fascists advocate a mixed economy, with the principal goal of achieving autarky (Autarky is the quality of being self-sufficient) to secure national self-sufficiency and independence through protectionist and interventionist economic policies.
I was thinking of Fascist also! Oblamea and his sheepleminions have forged out a new form of hybrid tinpotdictatorship, seems to be a teaspoon or so of every past oppressive governments/kingdoms that have ever existed. This one takes the cake, this regime could very well be the downfall of our Country as we know it. One of the best cases in point: oblameacare is a miserable failure and we all know it! And yet the tinpot dictatta in cheeeef insists that it will continue to be pushed along, no matter what! The only thing that can save us as a country would be to topple the regime out of office!
