Mom Complains About School Bible Handout, Gets Slammed By Local Parents: ” You’re Outnumbered Here”

When Jessica Greene’s fifth-grade son, Leo, brought home a bible from Cloverleaf Elementary school last Thursday, she was livid. She said her son told her that they were handing them out in class. “We were in class,” Leo explained. “Our teacher said that these people have volunteered to hand out Bibles.”

Leo told her that every kid could take a bible if they wanted one. If they were not interested, they could just simply go to the other side of the room. Jessica was outraged and explain her feelings to local news station WXIA, “I was just shocked the school system would do that. I tried to contact the superintendent, but he has not returned my calls.”

John Harper is the Bartow County Superintendent, and he did not respond to calls from Greene or the local media., however, reported that the school did write on its Facebook page:
The Gideons are permitted to offer Bibles to students who wish to pick them up. It is strictly voluntary, and the library was the location where students could pick one up; our librarian did not give them out. We appreciate your input. If you have further concerns, please contact administration during school hours. Thank you!
Greene was not satisfied with the school’s explanation, so she wrote a comment expressing her discontent. Other parents felt overwhelming outrage as well, but not directed toward the bible giveaway; they felt it towards Jessica Greene.

the good part of this story is that parents/citizens are starting to stand up to the instigators of taking over our country/our children.  And they should.  A year or so ago I was watching multiple videos of local school board clips -the "boards" were dismissive and outright mean toward any one "singular" parent who had objection to anything from sex-ed to 8 yr olds to advocating Islam gets special rights over others...  One person stood up, you could see the discomfort in the other [parents] but they were so uncomfortable, and the "one" was being smeared/sometimes physically removed out of meetings by guards, etc. - so everyone else watched but didn't say anything to support the truth.  I guess they just didn't want to be in trouble too?  Anyway, I always thought if those other parents (the large majority always) had all stood up and said, "he's right," or she's right, etc. and we stand behind them - a lot of this educational takeover would never have happened.

So, it is really really delightful to see these parents speak up and work together.  More parents will be standing up soon too.  This is good.

100% correct, people must unite, we must stand together for the greater good!

I am a Cathoic and am opposed to these handouts. Why the Gidion Bible was alone picked is confusing to me as well.

Offer the Bible as children leave the school, not within its premises. What next, - Muslims able to hand out the Quran in the classroom to the dismay of students who might be Christian or Jewish?

Again as M61A1 just said it was voluntary, what part of that don't you understand?  You don't hear the Jews complaining do you?  NO, so shut up!

Funny, we ask for controls on these things, but have no concept who will be controlling us or to what extent.  Those who are willing to exchange liberty for security are deserving of neither.

A catholic?????

Catholics are going to Pray anyway. You pray to Mary who only gave birth to Jesus Christ. You have to use the name of Jesus when you pray. Like this, by the power and authority of the blood of Jesus Christ I pray for.......or I rebuke the powers of hell the name of Jesus. The name above all names.

Christiann, the Scripture does not teach us to speak this way.  When speaking truth (and I do not agree with everything you are saying), it must be done with love and humility.  This is filled with contempt and does not reflect how Christ would speak to anyone.

"Mary who 'only' gave birth to Jesus Christ"......the Son of the Father in heaven...who herself was born without original sin and bore The Child as a result of an Immaculate Conception? We pray to Mary to intercede on our behalf, being the mother of Jesus Christ.

You are to ONLY pray to God/Jesus, none other, no not even Mary.  Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, NO MAN/WOMAN can come to Father but through HIM!!!!!  We are NOT to pray to Mary at all!

We can spend a long time discussing theology, a topic I personally quite like.  However we need to be certain we are not becoming angry with one another, and turning this into a slug fest when that is not the purpose of this page.

Marcus, if that is in response to what I wrote, I am not angry, just stating a fact!  Jesus tells us we are not to argue about religion, however, we also not to pray to someone other than Jesus/God either.  If it wasn't because of what I said then I apologize!

Yikes !!! Ocasio-Cortez: We Need A ‘Multigendered, Multigeographic’ United States

The United States of America needs to be “multigendered” and “multigeographic,” according to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who endorsed fellow socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at the “Bernie’s Back Rally” in New York on Saturday.

The freshman lawmaker and “Squad” member officially endorsed Sanders during a rally in Queensbridge Park in Long Island City, New York, on Saturday and called for more diversity in the U.S., arguing that it should not only be “multiracial” and “multigenerational” but “multigeographic” and “multigendered.”

“We need a United States that really, truly, and authentically is operated, owned, and decided by working – and all – people in the United States of America,” Ocasio-Cortez said to applause.

“That is what it – it is multiracial, multigendered, multigenerational, and multigeographic,” she said, failing to elaborate on what that specifically looks like.

“We have to come together, not ignoring our differences but listening to them, prioritizing them, understanding injustice,” she continued.

The socialist lawmaker also implied that rampant racism is still alive and well in the U.S., telling the crowd that it is essential to understand “that we operate in a context where slavery evolved into Jim Crow, evolved into mass incarceration, [and] evolved into the realities we have today.”
