BARTILLA, Iraq -- Throughout its Iraq campaign, ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) has targeted Christians. Many fled to the relative safety of Kurdish Iraq, but most still fear the wrath of the world's most brutal jihadist group.
Pastor Majeed, CBN News' guide, drove with us toward Nineveh where most of the country's besieged Christians have fled. It wasn't long until we went as far as the Kurdish army, called the Peshmerga, would allow us to go.
"So this is the end line. We cannot go any more," Majeed explained.
To travel beyond the town of Bartilla is to risk running into the ISIS. The jihadist group controls the mountains not far from the town. A few kilometers down the road, there's an ISIS checkpoint.
About 25,000 Christians have fled to Bartilla, but CBN News couldn't find one who would talk on camera out of fear of retribution.
The conditions in Bartilla are abysmal. There's no water because ISIS turned it off. And there's no electricity because Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's government turned that off.
People here are protected by the Peshmerga, who have set up a perimeter around the town and a few other towns in the area.
These people know that ISIS could come in and kill most of the people here. They're asking for prayer from Christians around the world. One Christian leader said they're asking for prayer just as the Apostle Paul did, praying that God will protect the town and the region.
Bartilla lies just a few miles from Nineveh or Mosul, the first major conquest for ISIS just a few days ago. The town was nearly deserted.

" 'Obey, Pay, or Leave' "
Only they won't LET them leave. Time to make them ALL join their 'virgins' and their ahlah!
We need to understand how ancient these people are, how old these Christians communities are, how oppressed they are. These Christian people are the mighty people of the past, Assyrians, Chaldeans, the Armenians, speaking the Aramaic language that Jesus spoke. Their center is Nineveh of old.
I want justice for these people. To be nice and safe, non-controversial, the church shows a little black Haitian boy needing our help. I believe God has two equally strong responses to injustice: compassion for the oppressed and righteous indignation for the oppressors. I want justice and the sword for the evil of church burnings, torture, and murder of Christians.
"Christianity was brought to Iraq in the 1st century AD by the Apostles Thomas and Addai (Thaddaeus) and his pupils Aggagi and Mari. Thomas and Thaddeus belonged to the twelve Apostles. Iraq's Eastern Aramaic speaking Chaldean Christian communities are believed to be among the oldest in the world.
The Chaldean people adopted Christianity in the 1st century AD and Assyria became the centre of Eastern Rite Christianity and Syriac literature from the 1st century AD until the Middle Ages. In the early centuries after the Arab Islamic conquest, native Assyrian (known as Ashuriyun by the Arabs) scholars and doctors played an influential role in Iraq, however, from the late 13th century AD through to the present time, Assyrian Christians have suffered both religious and ethnic persecution, including a number of massacres. Northern Iraq remained predominantly Chaldean, Eastern Aramaic speaking and Christian until the destructions of Tamerlane at the end of the 14th century. The Assyrian Church of the East has its origin in what is now South East Turkey and Assuristan (Sassanid Assyria). By the end of the 13th century there were twelve Nestorian dioceses in a strip from Peking to Samarkand. When the 14th-century Muslim warlord of Turco-Mongol descent, Timur (Tamerlane), conquered Persia, Mesopotamia and Syria, the civilian population was decimated. Timur had 70,000 Assyrian Christians beheaded in Tikrit, and 90,000 more in Baghdad. A new epoch began in the 17th century when Emir Afrasiyab of Basra allowed the Portuguese to build a church outside of the city. In the year of Iraq´s formal independence 1932, the Iraqi military carried out large-scale massacres against the Assyrians (Simele massacre) which had supported the British colonial administration before."
No surprise they are on the march because they have the full support of Obama.
If we had a Real president, who was a Real Christian, we might have a handle on this calamity.
We have a real president who is a real Islamist, probably the 12th Imam.
So, he's one of our enemies.
Coming to a town near you America!!!
The middle east may have more crazy people then us, but the left will out number them soon.
Where in the hell is the UN? Maybe playing golf with Obama.
WHO CARES??!!. The U.N. could go away today and NO ONE decent would miss them!
The ones who are contributing billions to the UN are the ones who care.
We should adopt their motto for the Muslims in America!!! "Obey, Pay or Leave.."
